Not a graphical difference but fun fact... the switch port of Team Sonic Racing is missing the opening CGI cutscene that is present in every other version.
It is to save on the Switch tax. By removing the CGI cutscene, they can use a much smaller card with a lower Switch tax, then they can sell the game cheaper. They could have put it in a patch but they obviously didn't see the point in taking away space from the switch for it.
I find their reasoning for not having it absurd, especially since Team Sonic Racing was included in a physical double pack that also included Sonic Mania on the same cartridge. I mean, they also could've just patched the game to include it as well, not to mention the digital release wouldn't have this problem, so it just sounds like they weren't willing to go the extra way to add something so trivial.
@@GenerationZ313The double pack probably used the cartridges with the same capacity as the original release considering that sonic mania is only slightly under 200MB with the opening cutscene probably taking up a significant amount of space in comparison. Most people also made the flawed argument of “oh, but I downloaded the cutscene from a UA-cam video using a converter and it was only 10MB” not knowing that most video files in games tend to be uncompressed data.
Frontiers is actually fine until you get to final horizon...oh my god. because the objects are spammy it sometimes leads to fps drops, heck even physics glitches. but it was somewhat still playable, and the final boss was surprisingly good looking on it.

Yeah but it makes it look like it just has better renders than 3DS. I saw a comparison of Miitopia on 3DS and Switch and the Switch made everything look really plastic.
shame that the nintendo switch's screen isnt 120 hz so you cant use shutter glasses and alternating images to make it 3d (you could do alternating 30 fps but that would be VERY flickery)
I own the Switch version of Team Sonic Racing, and I honestly had a fun time with it, and I didnt really notice any graphical issues (to be fair I also always played it in handheld mode)
You are honestly the audience SEGA is hoping for. The point is they got a game that is playable that still resembles the bigger version of the game. That is commendable.
Before I got a Series X, the Switch port of Sonic Frontiers was how I first experienced that game. And despite the lower quality graphics and lower framerate, I didn’t really mind it. I even ended up putting a lot of hours into the game and often found myself playing the it in handheld mode a lot. The game being locked to 30fps doesn’t really bother me either. I can’t really tell the difference between 30fps or 60fps unless I’m watching a UA-cam video. The only time a game’s framerate bothers me is when it’s very inconsistent.
You are also honestly the audience SEGA is hoping for. The point is they got a game that is playable that still resembles the bigger version of the game. That is commendable.
I'm still playing the Switch version of Sonic Frontiers and it plays fine enough but with that said I generally agree that aside from handheld play it is objectively the worst way to play.
The fact that Frontiers was planed to be launch on Switch really slowed down the game because CLEARLY THE PC AND PS/Box version were tone down to match the Switch. Explaining all those pop ins and the low render distance
Indeed and Sonic Team clearly didn't have the budget or team size to properly test and build out the game for higher spec platforms, so they basically just hard coded it around the lowest spec hardware, the Switch.
That was my personal theory for a while. It is kinda why I have this sentiment that the Nintendo Switch is hindering games that I have to sacrifice things that would work fine on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X yet struggle noticeably on the Nintendo Switch. It would be like making an Xbox 360 and PS3 game but having significantly scale back because it needs to run on the PSP as well as and there is no time or resources to make two separate version of the game.
The switch MIGHT hinder some games, but that's more so because developers don't take their time anymore and do their homework. Admittedly though, it is amazing that certain games can even run on this thing sometimes.😅😅😅😅😅
@@judahfalls7704 explaining how and why a switch version is identical to its Xbox/Ps version even though it’s a sonic game so the graphics aren’t that high to begin with
In Sonic Mania for Switch, I recently noticed this significant frame drop during the Chemical Plant Act 1 Boss. When the machine is below moving left to right and you run left to right too, the frames get very choppy. Though I think it may only happen if you have a shield active at the same time which also increases the activity going on. It’s hard to look at when it happens but it’s only a couple seconds at a time and really only that one instance in my experience.
That's crazy cause when I ported my copy of Mania to the Wii there was 0 issues with that boss. Kind of insane that that boss is more optimized on a gen 7 console than on the switch
Man, the Switch Colors port was such a baffling travesty. They couldn't even manage to get a remaster of a freaking Wii game run at 60fps. In my opinion any remaster that doesn't target 60fps is automatically ridiculous, but this is even worse. Instead, I love Origins on Switch and it's my favorite version of the game because I have the NSO Mega Drive controller, so my experience can be as close as possible to the original.
I first played Sonic Frontiers on my Switch, and let me tell you, when I got my Xbox Series X and downloaded Frontiers to it, it felt like I was playing a remaster of that game and it was AMAZING
As a guy who only owns a switch, i never saw any of the bad. I thought the game looked good, i didn't have any performance issue. Maybe, that's because i bever got the chance to play the other versions
Since they took a while to get sxsg for switch, i feel we switch users can finally play the game with good frames, i know gens will look amazing as the switch is stronger than ps3 and xbox 360, and gens is hardly changed, i just hope shadow gens looks good
It's a matter of optimization at this point. Sonic Colors Ultimate could've easily run miles better than what we got, but clearly, not as much care was taken with that port, especially since the job was outsourced to another Studio instead of Sonic Team.
The fact frontiers graphics on switch weren’t great compared to other consoles this just scares me on how the switch port of sonic x shadow generations is gonna look.
Sonic Colors is one of my favorite games in the series and I am so baffled not just by the Switch version but like, in general. I don't know why they couldn't just take the Wii version, polish it up into HD and call it a day. Apparently some data mining shows that a bunch of models like the Wisps seemed to have been redone with unnecessarily high polygon counts, and like... it's just such a mess
The lighting is probably a bigger reason. You can only cut down the lighting so much before it doesn't resemble the original game. The poly count is much less of a reason why as the Switch version already has reduced poly counts. Still they'd never hit 60fps
Literally just bought Sonic Superstars for the switch, then checked UA-cam, and this is the first video I see. Thank god there's nothin too bad with it lol, good video
I think you didn't give enough credit to Team Sonic Racing, sure being only 30 fps is a bummer, but Allstars Transformed was also 30 fps on consoles and that's how most people played the game. I think you should've praised more the port cause it's honestly amazing how graphically it looks the same as the PS4 version, most multiplat games on Switch have some more downgrades in textures and lighting even if you cut the framerate in half, but this port hardly any graphically different from the PS4 and it runs at 900p docked and full 720p handheld, it's awesome really.
Honestly imo, Frontiers is kinda understandable, but games like Colors honestly don't make any sense, are you telling me a wii game can't run on switch at 60fps? When there is Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe, Super Mario Galaxy or Zelda SS? Generations, at least the part of the og generations has to run at 60fps because the switch is way more powerful than a X360/PS3, at least talking rn at the 3D games
You overestimate how much stronger the Switch is compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3. And the other issue is that the original Generations ran at 30 fps for the console release.
And as for Colors, I blame the fact Sega not only handed it to what are essentially a bunch of new kids in a new development team altogether but also did the usual Sega rush for the holiday season treatment.
@@Mojo1356 I mean, the switch is halfway between an X360/PS3 and a XONE/PS4, and honestly, even rn a very low specs laptop or even pc can run fairly decent generations, so there's no reason the game can't run at 60fps on Switch
@@Mojo1356 true bro, colors ult was super rushed, and sadly, even on next gen platforms it was a complete mess, just that switch took that plus a really unstable framerate
For now the most we can hope for is that it runs at a smooth 30fps because devs do not wanna put in the time to make these remasters run ar 60 despite Generations not seeing any huge graphical updates compared to the Shadow portion.
At the end of the day, we should be glad that Sonic games are on Switch regardless of performance issues, we don’t need a “Genesis does what Nintendon’t” situation, just let the blue hedgehog be in Mario’s territory
@@TrrvvfoIt's great that we're getting the same experience across all platforms but I'm actually starting to miss the days where the handheld ports were different. That's not to say they were all great but if I wanted more of the same game I could always rely on a handheld version to possibly fix some issues I had with the console version.
Overall, I'm just confused about how video game companies can release games on a handheld with an almost ancient mobile chip while they can't release it on last gen home consoles and newer mobile phones.
Cant wait to switch 2, the only reason i have ps5 is to play sonic games at full power, once switch 2 releases and (hopefully) is powerful, imma just sell all my consoles for switch 2 and everything
I think you might be overestimating how powerful Switch 2 will be. At best it might come within spitting distance of a PS4, which is around the raw power of a Steam Deck. From there it is going to depend on how many clever tricks Nvidia has baked into the hardware if any.
The framerate drops really hard on the Switch version of Sonic Superstars if you use the speed shoes or a super transformation, this is probably caused by the after-image effect they have, they never bothered to fix that for some reason.
This is why the only Switch Sonic games I have are Sonic Mania, Sonic Origins and Forces cuz that game will never get worse. Or better no matter what console you use.
The Sonic Ports on switch are programmed to read inputs at 60 while running at 30. It’s mentioned in interviews with Sonic Team over the years. This however doesn’t directly apply to Colors Ultimate, I’m unsure of that port since it wasn’t directly done by Sonic Team.
I have TSR on Switch and as someone who's played Transformed on Wii U (which was 30 FPS), I think it's more noticeable in TSR, maybe it's because my eyes got used to Transformed's framerate (this was before I even could notice or care about that thing) but TSR does feel choppier. Plus the game drops frames when you use the black Wisp item sometimes
The pop-in and repeating textures in Frontiers are an issue (and a big one at that), but i think the textures are quite justifiable in the open zones, as they are massive open worlds with lots of things going on, so if you wanted high quality textures you'd need Colors Ultimate loading times, probably even more. The fps never went below 29 for me, and i beat that game to almost 100% completion (i just need some collectibles and S ranks) Also, 30fps = unplayable now?
It is worth noting that even though Superstars does have the target 60 fps on Switch when you start doing co-op the game tends to struggle A LOT more performance wise and it has noticeably dipped below 30 at times when playing it co-op with a friend. It might be due to more things happening at once and the camera needing to zoom out more.
Something I've been hoping to do at some point is try and document various changes the Switch port of Forces has compared to the others, since it actually has quite a few differences compared to the other versions. Some terrain meshes actually got reworked a bit (Null Space and Classic Chemical Plant are some examples), setdata on various stages have actually been adjusted, there's a few minor bugfixes not present on the other platforms, etc. Side note: I actually happen to have all the Sonic games released for Switch thus far and I don't really mind the lower asset quality/framerate since I still manage to have fun with the games overall.
Fun fact about colors ultimate; the majority of the "Seizure inducing" glitches were hoaxed. They were being done on an emulator to make it look worse than it actually was. It was still there but nowhere near as bad as it was being made out to be.
that's wrong, actually. No one was trying to fake them. Only one glitch was done on an emulator, being the T-pose in planet wisp but even that glitch was replicated on real hardware later. But people took that and ran screaming they were all fake.
Actually no, initially it was found out that someone was getting the seizure glitches on emulator, and some started CLAIMING they were fake, but then AFTER that it was discovered that, no, they are very real and do happen on the Switch. So it was not a hoax after all, but it was a developing story, and what you described was a specific point in that developing story but it wasn't the final conclusion.
Colours Ultimate was less a reflection on the Switch's old hardware and more on the fact that they handed it off to Blind Squirrel who tried to run Godot engine on top.
@@judahfalls7704it was more of porting issue than a hardware issue for sure. I mean you can probably just emulate the original Wii version on Switch and it would probably run much better than the actual remaster.
Sonic Mania is actually less blurry on Switch than on most other platforms, since the display scales evenly up to the tablet's 720p screen, as opposed to the uneven 1080p of other consoles which induces slight blur even with the filter set to none. This can be remedied by playing on a 1440p or 4K display, which are both 2x and 3x 720p respectively.
To be honest a lot of these games didnt need compromises. A lot of them was compromised for no reason. Im pretty sure Sonic Forces, Colors (a freaking Wii game), and Superstars should have been better! But Sega confirmed in a interview with GameExplain they developed Sonic X Shadow Generations for PlayStation 5 first which they been developing for PlayStation first this whole time which is a big mistake give the only Sonic game out sell their Switch Version was Sonic Frontiers (only because it LOOKED like a Triple A), not for being Sonic. Most the Generation long Switch Sonic games been out selling their more graphical versions. So my question is why didnt Sega develop first for Switch to make sure Nintendo Sonic fans, their biggest audience had a great experience dispite power? Looking at Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, and Jak and Daxer PlayStation is not the main audience for Sonic. Heck i don't see Astro Bot selling that well.
Despite the technical issues coming from being ported to Switch, these versions still end up performing the best sales-wise out of all the console versions. It’s been clear ever since the series went third party in 2001, that a large portion of Sonic’s core audience are Nintendo console owners, which is why Sega is gonna keep making Sonic games for the Switch onwards.
Yeah, Sonic there's plenty of proof that Sonic games sell better on Nintendo consoles, and it's kind of ironic because it's the only major SEGA franchise that gets regular releases on Nintendo consoles, it took a long while for mainline Persona games to arrive on Nintendo, and just a couple of weeks ago Yakuza: Kiwami was released on Nintendo's hybrid console, the first Yakuza game since the WiiU port of Yakuza 1+2. But when it comes to Sonic, SEGA cannot ignore Nintendo The main problem is that modern Sonic games are still developed with major consoles in mind find, I don't know if it would be better for Sonic Team to develop these games with the Switch as the base console, but then there would be people complaining that the games are limiting their scope by the Switch
Honestly I get all Sonic games on switch not because of frame rate but because I want to play them on the go. Definitely getting the switch version of Sonic X shadows generations for switch on Christmas.
So, a lesser known thing, (and note I dont get my Sonic games on other consoles so maybe it applies to them) is at least on Nintendo Switch, Sonic games don't use the Home button the way most games. Most games will stop everything when you press it, but Sonic games (and some others) don't do that. Instead, they'll just use the in-game pause function when available (which is a good bandaid solution). A good way to notice, go to the home menu at a main menu, and when you press Home again, and the music doesn't resume. You're at a later part of music. I have no idea why they do this. Other Sega games like the Persona series use it properly
I have never had any problems with playing sonic games on switch. Playing alot of the older games on console kinda made me just get used to it. Like I replayed Gears of war 1 on xbox 360 and that game is like 25 fps, hell I even played Max payne 1 on ps2 and that game has unlocked frames, but it could go from 10 fps or 60 at will. Playing stuff like Frontiers, team sonic racing, colors or even forces on switch is okay to me, even though playing it on other consoles and/or pc will have it at 60 with increased graphics. Im just glad that the games is on switch even though they're technically worse performing, but that has to be expected because the switch isn't as powerful as the other options.
Sonic Forces: 30 fps sucks Sonic Team Racing: 30 fps is horrible Sonic Colors: 30 fps is not good Sonic Frontier: I hate 30 fps Sonic Superstars: the game runs at 60 fps, but, nah, I think 30 fps would be fine here I wasn't expecting that.
I own the colors port and I’ve had this glitch where if I try enter the customization menu thing it crashes my game, and it’s the whole menu too when you check everything there, the screen goes completely black while loading and then it just straight up crashes
All of them for the switch were really good until frontiers came along and then it just looked bad and there were alot more glitches lol I just think it's time for a switch 2 and great job on the editing 😁 great video as always 😁
I got Sonic Frontiers on my Switch for Christmas 2022 (since I didn't have PlayStation or Xbox yet) and honestly, the lower graphics didn't really bother me that much during my playthrough of it. I'm thinking of getting the PS4 port for the better performance, though I'm still keeping Mania and Origins installed on my Switch since they run perfectly fine in my eyes. And seeing how well Sonic Superstars handles on Switch, I might get around to playing that version as well. Switch ports are definitely inferior, but they have a bit of charm in my eyes.
I think that when the Switch 2 is released, all future sonic games will no longer have these problems. Even if the PS6 and whatever the next Xbox is called is released, Sonic will never have as realistic graphics as most Sony and Microsoft games, so the Switch 2 will have more than enough power for Sonic forever
If I remember correctly, Sonic Mania was developed with Sega Saturn restrictions in mind, meaning that in theory it could be made ported to run on the Saturn. If the Switch didn’t run it the same as the other consoles (aside from the graphical fidelity), that would be criminal lol
So, with Forces and I think all the other games, they have it so the control input is 60hz rather than 30, so even though the games framerate is 30, the controls are still running as if it was 60
@@SFproductions1 good, even if the game looks 30fps, the inputs are like when it's at 60fps. So you don't have a big input delay while the switch doesn't have to be stressed much.
I played Frontiers on PC first. The Switch is rough in comparison but is still really fun. Frontiers and now Generations (especially Shadow Generations) do run at 30fps but a really smooth 30fps if you get me.
I was surprised at how harsh you were are the 30fps on TSR. Did you also not like Crash Team Racing (if you played it?) that game was 30fps on all platforms and everyone loved it.
I remember buying frontiers for switch, played it for an hour and then went: "wait a minute I have a PC." I gave it to a friend and got the pc version.. soooo good.
I have the sonic games on my Xbox series x and switch. I don't care if the Resolution is bad on the switch and Play at 30 fps. With the switch port i can play anywhere and that's a huge plus the Switch
The depth of field effect is not making it easier to render. Depth of Field actually can be quite expensive, the reason why the switch DoF looks the way it does is because DoF is resolution based. Often games end up having a stronger DoF when the resolution is lower and this was very present in the 7th and 8th gen consoles. My assumption for the Switch version of Colors Ultimate running at 30fps is most likely because of the engine switch and change in lighting. If the Switch ran the original Wii version of course it could run at 60fps but Ultimate changes things like lighting and other aspects Frontiers is understandable. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of Frontiers only ran at 30fps unlike the PS5 and Series S|X versions which all had a 60fps mode. The lack of foliage and lower quality textures are both on the GPU as well as RAM. The Switch has half the RAM of the PS4 and Xbox One so they had to cut down texture resolution. They also had cut the baked global illumination system they had to help reduce the size of the game as well making the game look even more flat than the home console versions too. I'm surprised the kept the screen space reflections as those are often cut from switch games to get more performance Mania looks identical to my eyes playing both the PC and Switch version. Superstars is a very light game to run even on PC. Honestly I'm surprised the PS5 and Series S|X don't have a 120fps mode. The ROG Ally can easily hit 120fps as well as the Deck OLED being able to do a full 90fps. Not surprised at all that the switch game runs at 60fps
Golden rule with multiplatform games is that you only buy Switch ports if all you own is a Switch. If you own a PlayStation, Xbox or PC then you are better off buying multiplatform games on those instead. No amount of portability is worth having worst frame rates, load times and graphics.
I bought Origins Plus on Switch, but Mania and Superstars one the Xbox. I wanted to own all of the Classic games on one consoles, but it just came down to stuff being on sale on specific consoles 😂
You actually made me feel better about the Generations Switch port. I’m stuck with Switch, and I was (and still kind of am) very nervous. They do seem to be spending a lot of time optimizing the game, which makes me happy. As for Frontiers, I played it on Switch and loved it, so if the Generations port and Shadow campaign run as well as Frontiers, I don’t think I’ll really care.
the shadow part is probably gonna be similar fidelity to sonic forces sonic generations should run pretty well though, sonic team is working on this and not blind squirrel that couldn't get 60 fps on colors 😂 i still wouldn't get too confident about 60fps with generations, 900p/1080p docked @30 is probably what we're gonna get

I would have to assume your eyes are broken if you think frontiers was only a small fps downgrade because that shit reminded me of the sonic unleashed ports for wii and ps2
Not a graphical difference but fun fact... the switch port of Team Sonic Racing is missing the opening CGI cutscene that is present in every other version.
I believe they said they didn't have enough cartridge space, but they never added it in the digital version or added it as a free update/patch
@@judahfalls7704switch tax lmao, what a funny term
@@GenerationZ313The double pack probably used the cartridges with the same capacity as the original release considering that sonic mania is only slightly under 200MB with the opening cutscene probably taking up a significant amount of space in comparison.
Most people also made the flawed argument of “oh, but I downloaded the cutscene from a UA-cam video using a converter and it was only 10MB” not knowing that most video files in games tend to be uncompressed data.
“Sonic had a rocky history on the switch”
This video really cleared up a lot of my doubts about the Sonic ports on Nintendo Switch!
Frontiers is actually fine until you get to final horizon...oh my god. because the objects are spammy it sometimes leads to fps drops, heck even physics glitches. but it was somewhat still playable, and the final boss was surprisingly good looking on it.
I think sega should try making a sonic game with a cel shaded artsyle not only do i think that artstyle would fit sonic greatly but it would make it easy for the game to run of nintendo consoles
I play Gens with a cel shader mod and it's beautiful, it fits Sonic perfectly.
Cel shading doesn't make the game easier to run. The switch would still need heavy compromises as it's weaker than smartphones too
Or they can do nothing becahse the switch 2 is coming out at around early 2025 with ps4 gen level power which is what their games are made for anyways
@@crestofhonor2349 they can do something like BoTW that uses models with a somewhat lower poly count thanks to the cell shading hiding those little details
7:43 something i actually kinda like about the switch port is it looks like a 3ds game
Yeah but it makes it look like it just has better renders than 3DS. I saw a comparison of Miitopia on 3DS and Switch and the Switch made everything look really plastic.
I always thought that Sonic Superstars artstlye reminded me a lot of Sonic Generations on 3DS.
shame that the nintendo switch's screen isnt 120 hz so you cant use shutter glasses and alternating images to make it 3d (you could do alternating 30 fps but that would be VERY flickery)
well theres always red and blue glasses.. but those kind of compromise colour accuracy
I own the Switch version of Team Sonic Racing, and I honestly had a fun time with it, and I didnt really notice any graphical issues (to be fair I also always played it in handheld mode)
Same, I own it along with the mania pack and honestly, I don’t see any difference

@@judahfalls7704 explaining how and why a switch version is identical to its Xbox/Ps version even though it’s a sonic game so the graphics aren’t that high to begin with
@@RClipsGaming101 Very true. The Witcher III and DOOM Eternal are probably the most surprising ones that I know of.
0:13 unwiished, gens 3ds and lost world 3ds crying in the corner
@@GenerationZ313 switch users gonna eat good with sxsg
Expect no higher than 30 fps on switch. While 60 fps on consoles.
Im calling it now; chemical plant from original gens is still going to tank the framerate to single digits like it did on xbox 360
The fact frontiers graphics on switch weren’t great compared to other consoles this just scares me on how the switch port of sonic x shadow generations is gonna look.
4:09 isnt it HILARIOUS how the fucking WII can run sonic colors better than the switch
The reason why sonic games on switch run on 30 FPS is because of they don't reduce the number of tri polygon in the models
The lighting is probably a bigger reason. You can only cut down the lighting so much before it doesn't resemble the original game. The poly count is much less of a reason why as the Switch version already has reduced poly counts. Still they'd never hit 60fps
i got 100% on sonic frontiers for the switch, and it was honestly not as bad as it may sound!
Lighting is noticeably worse on the switch version though.
Definitely not a deal breaker mind you; its a great port and generally a fun game still
Honestly imo, Frontiers is kinda understandable, but games like Colors honestly don't make any sense, are you telling me a wii game can't run on switch at 60fps?

Why do I suddenly have a bad feeling about the Sonic X Shadow Generations Switch port now...?
For now the most we can hope for is that it runs at a smooth 30fps because devs do not wanna put in the time to make these remasters run ar 60 despite Generations not seeing any huge graphical updates compared to the Shadow portion.

You may as well get a steam deck and not lock yourself into Nintendo
Everyone stop hating the switch plz…
I have my switch OLED, a modded 3ds and Wii
Interesting breakdown of the switch port Sonic games SF Productions!
An option to switch to 720p and maintain a 60fps resolution would be cool
I fully believe that Sonic Dream Team should have been a Switch Exclusive, or atleast be on both Mobile and Switch

With mania, people have got it running on the Wii, in 480p of course
The pop-in and repeating textures in Frontiers are an issue (and a big one at that), but i think the textures are quite justifiable in the open zones, as they are massive open worlds with lots of things going on, so if you wanted high quality textures you'd need Colors Ultimate loading times, probably even more. The fps never went below 29 for me, and i beat that game to almost 100% completion (i just need some collectibles and S ranks)
Also, 30fps = unplayable now?
It is worth noting that even though Superstars does have the target 60 fps on Switch when you start doing co-op the game tends to struggle A LOT more performance wise and it has noticeably dipped below 30 at times when playing it co-op with a friend. It might be due to more things happening at once and the camera needing to zoom out more.
Mention the FPS and resolution whilst saying "with that being said"....Job done.
Suprisingly sonic colors ultimate now is almost glitchless now (except switch)
Oh yes I remember that but there were still REALLY bad glitches on actual hardware
that's wrong, actually.
Me who plays sonic games with 30 FPS: 🤷♂️
Me when I have 40 FPS in Minecraft 😡😡🤬🤬
7:10 2nd and 3rd island look MUCH better
But when it comes to Sonic, SEGA cannot ignore Nintendo
The main problem is that modern Sonic games are still developed with major consoles in mind find, I don't know if it would be better for Sonic Team to develop these games with the Switch as the base console, but then there would be people complaining that the games are limiting their scope by the Switch
Sonic Generations will probably look like the ps3/360 Version.
I played all of the sonic games on switch. They are all my first times beating them. (I have a Nintendo and Sonic combo bias)
Honestly I get all Sonic games on switch not because of frame rate but because I want to play them on the go. Definitely getting the switch version of Sonic X shadows generations for switch on Christmas.
8:13 HOW?????? EVERYTHING LOOKS SO BAD IT GENUINELY MADE ME HATE THIS GAME MORE THAT I ALREADY DO

Considering how underpowered the switch is compared to the ps5 & series x, it somehow keeps up in frontiers
5:04 The seizure-inducing bug seems to have been only on pirated copies. I have the game since launch and never experienced them.
My only real issue with the superstars switch port is the multiplayer is LAGGY
Sonic Forces: 30 fps sucks
Sonic Team Racing: 30 fps is horrible
Sonic Colors: 30 fps is not good
Sonic Frontier: I hate 30 fps
Sonic Superstars: the game runs at 60 fps, but, nah, I think 30 fps would be fine here
I wasn't expecting that.
I own the colors port and I’ve had this glitch where if I try enter the customization menu thing it crashes my game, and it’s the whole menu too when you check everything there, the screen goes completely black while loading and then it just straight up crashes
All of them for the switch were really good until frontiers came along and then it just looked bad and there were alot more glitches lol
I just think it's time for a switch 2 and great job on the editing 😁 great video as always 😁
Speaking of switch 2 you will have to wait for 2025 for that one.
I personally got the Switch versions of Sonic Superstars and Sonic x Shadow Generations and I honestly kinda like these ports
AND I bought Frontiers on my Switch and SuperStars on my Playstation! 😭
As long as graphics live up to PS4, I'm happy.

I actually thought Sonic Frontiers on Switch looked decent.
Honestly same, but then I played the Xbox version, and the rest is history
Playing other platform versions is a night and day difference compared to the switch
So, with Forces and I think all the other games, they have it so the control input is 60hz rather than 30, so even though the games framerate is 30, the controls are still running as if it was 60

If the Switch ran the original Wii version of course it could run at 60fps but Ultimate changes things like lighting and other aspects
Frontiers is understandable. I'm surprised the kept the screen space reflections as those are often cut from switch games to get more performance
Mania looks identical to my eyes playing both the PC and Switch version.
As for Frontiers, I played it on Switch and loved it, so if the Generations port and Shadow campaign run as well as Frontiers, I don’t think I’ll really care.
the shadow part is probably gonna be similar fidelity to sonic forces
sonic generations should run pretty well though, sonic team is working on this and not blind squirrel that couldn't get 60 fps on colors 😂
