    You can magnetize most any Allen key or screw driver by placing a magnet on the shaft. get a Neodymium magnet and place it on the driver shaft the longer you leave it on the stronger the magnetic effect will be. An old equipment tech tip for you .

      lol you know what I actually did learn bout this trick after but not because of this video was watching something else on UA-cam unrelated to sim racing and guy was using magnets. I have yet to buy a magnet tho 🤔

    What I did was put a Sim Lab Xero-Play on to the Asetek QR. Now I can just use the wheel side Xero Play with the Asetek base. Xero Play wheel side mount is half the cost of the Asetek.

      Wait can you explain that to me please. I can get the zero play locally at micro center. You’re saying I can take the xero play right on the Asetek quick release?
      But then what does the wheel go on? Right onto the zero play? Anyway you can provide some pics please?!

    Any wheel that uses USB can be directly wired to the Asetek QR so you don't need the female usb connector and long usb cable. Some manufacturers are doing it now or you can adapt any wheel yourself if you can do very simple soldering of 5 wires. You can also buy a sort of 'OEM' version of the QR that just comes with the extension length you choose and without the full retail package so yo can adapt any wheels you already own or who don't offer factory Asetek versions yet.
    Its a very DIY friendly system compared to most. They are also going to sell a version without electronics and extensions that will fit their existing wheels so you can get all wheels to close to the same length.

      I seen the live stream with Andre saying that they will release a Forte QR without the usb, just a mechanical version. Also seen they are launching a wheel extension that I am eager to get my hands on.

    The reason why I love my Asetek gear is that they focus a bit more on sim-racing than on real racing. We sim racers have a bit another focus than the real racers. And we do not need certificates and such bullshit. We need things that works and that are comfortable and easy to use at home...
    Thanks for the great video!

      lol very good 😂 I did this with my zero play QR from simlabs so all my wheels that don’t require power I just use that 🙌🏻 at €150 a pop we have to be creative when owning so many wheels. I can’t be buying 6 Astek QR’s would be able to buy another wheel for that money

      I mainly use the Asetek base now, the QR definitely made the decision easier for me anyway but I would not recommend anyone who owns a simucube 2 base to swap over because you will be spending money to basically get the same thing.
      Blind testing I would not be able to tel the difference between Asetek & Simucube both are amazing.
      Simucube has been teasing a big software update so I’m eager for that to be released and then see if they can improve the driving experience even more. It’s actually hard to believe that it would be possible to improve cause it’s that good already.

    I'd love to know what you think about the fanatec qr2. If you would still prefer the asetek invicta over the simucube sc2 pro and fanatec dd2 qr2.

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  11 місяців тому +1

      The Fanatec QR 2 works amazing but the price is ridiculous in my opinion. Like 0.001 % of people buying the fanatec qr2 will actually be using it in a real car so yea they do offer 3 different price points and is a huge huge improvement on the qr1
      I am still using my Invicta as my main base and I do prefer it purely because of the qr the force feedback so similar in a blind test I would struggle to notice the difference.

    • @zututooutlook1414

      It’s a very hard choice that so it’s not one I want to make for you 😂 but my simucube has been on a shelf for few months now. Like I said before that is only because I love the Asetek QR. I had the xero play QR by SimLabs on the simucube and it was amazing but no data or electric provided to wheel so had to coil wire round shaft. Go have a look at my video Asetek vs Simucube might make decision easier or harder 😜

    Hi, any idea why the extention shaft has to be mounted to the wheel instead of the base?.. Seems strange

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  11 місяців тому

      It is kinda strange especially when using the long shaft but I am thinking it’s when you remove your steering wheel from base that you don’t have a long shaft pointing at you. Allot of people use their pc for work ect.. will be more strange I think if the long shaft is permanently stuck to your base rather than the wheel 🤔

    This looks awesome, I'm about to buy my 1st setup and I have a question about this. Is it compatible with the Fanatec Podium Hub? I can't find anything on Google. And one of the Podium Hub videos I watched mentioned the connector while USB is proprietary so you can't plug it into a PC's USB port like any other device. Now I don't know if that reviewer was correct, and if they were if that means it wouldn't work with this system.
    I REALLY want the Porsch wheel with the Podium Rally Module, but I can't figure out if it'll work with this. I know this works with all USB wheels, but the reviewer saying the USB isn't standard USB has me wondering.

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  7 місяців тому

      You would have to attach fanatec wheel to podium hub & then the hub to a astek QR. I see no reason it won’t work 🤷🏼‍♂️ however I have never seen or tried this myself. I used to own the podium hub & Porsche wheel button plate so just giving you info based on that. I don’t see any reason it won’t work 🙌🏻

    I do wish asetek looked better but since they dont and other wheelbases look so good and feel as good also now we can actually go by what we like the look of because regardless of what people think every bade can be dialed in to feel like one another now. What you said from 9 minutes onwards was kinda ridiculous.. you just have it set up incorrectly as it doesn’t get in the way at all, secondly it’s called a hub converter everyone would have that instead of it being mounted directly into the wheel.. nobody would do that, ever amd if they did they are dumber than dogshit
    I have one, amd I have cube controls direct converter as well
    Simucube are brilliant I have the ultimate and I have the invicta. The invicta is better, it just is. The FFB is just far more accurate and detailed .
    And with all these new quick releases and 3rd party company’s running it in there wheels as an option I will never ever use anything else again

    • @TheSimCircuit
      @TheSimCircuit  11 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching, only after review did I realise it’s possible to tuck usb cable in shaft. At time of making video not one wheel has been released with a “hub converter” so I was not sure if you are able to remove from wheel or not. However I’m sure most people buying a new wheel will be able to tell if hub is removable if not. Regardless the point of the video is that the Asetek mount is better than all others I have used myself 👍🏻
