    I agree with Dan about the grips, this has the best grip of all the Cube wheels ever done. F-pro and Csx3 such dissappointing experience for me. But this wheel represents real Mercedes GT car wheel at entry price point. Great ergonomics. But I'm really not fan of any of the shifter & clutch of Cube wheels because I think they have much bigger problem than the software itself, hall effect sensors on everything is not great. Everytime I wanted to race, I had to recalibrate my shifters or dual clutch is dissappointing and tiring thing to do.

    This wheel is to sexy and the grips feel perfect in ergonomics lol also you now can buy all 4 paddles without the hub. I work wirh cf often things like fat carbon etc. The one thing I love about cube is they use very very high qaulity cf. Many places say real cf cough cough moza but it isnt. Even there fsr isnt real cf. But cube controls has the best cf ive felt and you wont believe this but simagic uses the second best cf ive felt or seen on a wheel. Like the fx pro and the fx true real high qaulity cf. You really need to look at the cf almost a 3d look to real cf. The lines shouldnt be absolutely perfect like someone drew them on. The design and sticthced cf or layering should not be straight up or down. Or strsight left to right. Good cf you can almost look at it and see glass not like see theough but almost like you see a layer giving a slight sheen. Also where the cut is at like the cutout across top and bottom should be slightly lighter due to how cf is when you grind or cut it. You can see the layers and those have a certain look also.
    I know you said you dont like the colorful buttons but me I love them, like you said all preference. I will say I dont know why cube controls has lag even directly plugged in when simagic fx pro or fx has like none even when wireless. Or its at least not noticeable

    Hi Dan, Great video. Really in depth look at this wheel and made some talking points which not many others have offered so far. I had a question about the electronics section of the video. I have a spare Podium hub and Podium paddle module, if I was to purchase this wheel with just the shifters, could I remove them and mount the Podium hub straight to the back shell? This would have to be done via opening the wheel first and attaching the hub internally with low profile screws. I've done this once before with a Simagic GT4 USB. Is it easy to get that back piece off and access the rear electronics of the wheel? I don't really want to deal with the little extra length the adapter would have and the Podium Hubs can mount using 50mm PCD. Thanks for the great content!

    • @BasefieldPaintball

      @Samcar304: I just ordered this wheel, and would be interested, if you ended up mounting it directly to the podium hub without the adapter. The additional length bothers me too, as I will have to adjust my rig, but then my other Fanatec-Wheels will be too far away from me. How do you guys deal with that?!?

    i've been wondering for a while now since i'm saving up for a fanatec dd2 and formula wheel, why would you want to jump into the high end wheel market? is there so much more feel or niceness when comparing a 1500 dollar wheel to a non high end fanatec wheel? i haven't been able to experience DD wheels, or the difference between mid range wheels and high end wheels but from the reviews i find it hard to justify the 3x price over the fanatec formula wheel, it also has thumb encoders, regular front mounted encoders, mag shifters and a plethora of buttons. the only upgrade i see from there is a screen on the wheel, but thats completely useless to me as i race in vr only... not hating here btw, just genuinly curious as to why someone would spend 1500 on a wheel thats maybe slightly better feeling than a 400 dollar wheel. feel free to convince me otherwise

    • @DanSuzuki
      @DanSuzuki  Рік тому +1

      hold a fanatec wheel in your hands, then you know why these are more expensive :) does one really need a high end wheel to have fun? absolutely not!

    • @HowlerBikeVlogs
      @HowlerBikeVlogs Рік тому

      @@DanSuzuki well i'm still not 100% on the dd2, tho it is a bit more expensive to get a dfp or su2, because i'd also need hubs and wheels. i drive mostly gt3's but also enjoy a bit of drifting and just cruising with a streetcar-style wheel. adding a couple 100 to the overall price. combined with the fact that any current or future fanatec wheel will work with a dd1/2. the fanatec ecosystem speaks to me simply because of compatibility and expansion, is there really such a big gap between the podium wheelbases and other high end DD bases? is it worth it to save up 2-3 more months?

      @DanSuzuki  Рік тому

      @@DanSuzuki You're talking about VALUE in your video, not quality. The McLaren has all the features this one has, maybe it isn't so well built, but as fpr VALUE simply there is no contest.
      There are many wheels on the 500-600€ range with MORE features than this one.

    I dont think so. Cube has good wheels but i feel for all their wheels, in their respective price range, there is always something better out there.

    The best value wheel is one made out of a single sheet of plywood. No holes for the fingers, no shifter paddles, just a sheet of plywood with a couple screws in the middle to connect it to a qr, that's the best value wheel

      What you have described is the cheapest wheel, but the absence of any form of buttons and encoders renders it useless to virtually everyone and is therefore poor value. Value in something which is used for leisure is based on what functionality you require, how you expect that functionality to perform and how this compares to other items offering the same functionality.
