About The Cardigans:
The Cardigans’ sound is often described as an eclectic fusion of pop, rock, and alternative influences. Alongside catchy melodies, thoughtful lyrics, and lead vocalist Nina Persson’s distinctive voice, their playful approach has resulted in beloved hits like “Lovefool,” “My Favourite Game”, “Step on Me” and over 15 million sold albums - globally. Besides making their mark on the charts, their music has been used to enhance cult TV-series and movies like Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet, The Office and The Crown. Further enriching their legacy and solidifying their place in ’90s pop culture and beyond.
Erase/Rewind Lyrics:
Hey, what did you hear me say
You know the difference it makes
What did you hear me say?
Yes, I said it's fine before
But I don't think so no more
I said it's fine before
I've changed my mind
I take it back
Erase and rewind
'Cause I've been changing my mind
Erase and rewind
'Cause I've been changing my mind
I've changed my mind
So, where did you see me go?
It's not the right way, you know
Where did you see me go?
No, it's not that I don't know
I just don't want it to grow
It's not that I don't know
I've changed my mind
I take it back
Erase and rewind
'Cause I've been changing my mind
Erase and rewind
'Cause I've been changing my mind
Erase and rewind
'Cause I've been changing my mind
Erase and rewind
'Cause I've been changing my mind
Erase and rewind
Erase and rewind
I've changed my mind

The Thirteenth Floor.......amazing movie. Amazing song.
Same! Was the first time I heard this song. And yeah really good movie!
Amazing how a song can transport you in time and space. I'm on highway driving with Mt Fuji out the driver's side window, blasting this song. First time living over seas, in a place I'd always dreamed of going to, living the life. Good times.
Damn, that sounds incredible. Congratulations!
I went in January. Got there at night and couldn't see anything. Opened the curtains at 6am and it was there in all its glory. Played the smiths "let me get what I want".
Wanted to see Fuji since I was about 5. It didn't disappoint. Hope you enjoyed it as much as me
@@WallieTheRed When I first arrived, it was a humid day in September. My buddy lived in a small town called Iwanami, between Numazu and Gotemba. I knew we were pretty damned close to Fuji, and asked my buddy where it was. He pointed and said, it's over there, but you can't see it right now. The next morning, when the air was clearer, I walked outside with a coffee and BHAM! A giant mountain loomed above the town which was totally invisible the day before! Amazing how that mountain can disappear! But what a sight it is in the winter, when the air is clear and it's covered in snow!! Where were you when you first saw it?
@@GarbageWithNoPoint Cheers!
we trained it because my mate wanted to check an onsen out in yamanashi (I think). realized we were behind another mountain ridge and couldn't see it. I was determined to swerve the onsen and catch the local bus to fujiyoshida. it was snowing heavily and we could probably on see the lower third (still impressive) on the approach and when we go off and found the cheapest available hostel it was nightfall. I'd injured my foot after a few too many on golden gai the previous night and sliced it open on my bathroom door so it was becoming an ordeal. It was bitterly cold, -10c (14F) and snow storm and no taxi's were running. hobbled to the hostel worn out, in pain and hungry. found a hidden little restaurant were the guy drank hot sake with us before I made a beeline for bed.
my alarm went off at 6am and my mate complained saying it's too early and we should sleep some more. I said as a reply 'lets shed some light on the situation' and as i opened the curtain let out some high pitched shrill. my mate jumped down from the bunk to see if my foot was ok then he saw what I saw. the cheap last minute hostel room window was directly facing the mountain and there were no clouds. we just gawped at it in amazement. it was truly stunning. We decided to stay another night and then head back the way we came. My mate had his onsen and because it was clear we could see fuji towering above the other mountains as we layed there in the hot water with the air still freezing. and my foot getting some much needed rest. It was a difficult but amazing experience that turned out better than we thought in the end@@greggusan
I'm 37 years old now...and this still sound amazing ❤
takes me to a special, new time in my life, can't believe its that long ago now.
Significant song musically and culturally. Changing your mind is important to survival, yet it is often viewed negatively by outsiders as it disrupts the narrative they have fitted around you. Take back your life, erase and rewind!

Back around 96 I had a part time job working nights stacking shelves and the station they played introduced me to Cardigans. One of those bands that although getting pop airplay was a bit different, and have stood the test of time.
This song makes me feel proud to be a 90s child, I remember watching it on Rage tv like it was yesterday and it allways gave me goosebumps. In my opinion the cardigans are one of the best of the 90s just love em.
Don't forget Portishead
💯💯💯💯👍🏻
This is one of my favorite songs...I listen to it all the time. It's so sensual & meaningful. I think we've all made mistakes we wish could be simply erased & rewind.
+Ashley Teresa I recall reading somewhere that this was a song about a car video game, where you would erase/rewind whatever game error you did (e.g. crash into a tree), lol not as deep as yo thought, ruined the song for me a bit sorry if it does for you too

I usually don't like this type of music but I like this one :)
It appeared in the film the thirteenth floor, a cyperpunk film about what's reality and virtualization ,sort of like Matrix. In my opinion, the female voice in the song makes listener feel more uncertain about what's what considering the film's theme.

I'm so agree with you. Because Nina Persson has the most beautiful voice i've ever heard in my life in my opinion. And she's also really really talented. And that's the reason why she's my favorite singer songwriter. 😊
Dido got great voice too
They weren't given much respect at the time, but the Cardigans' music has held up really well over the years.
same for Ivy. but yet, no one really knows about the band.
"They weren't given much respect at the time"? Well they got coverage and their songs got quite heavy airplay on radio back in the day for an indie band.
Tons of other bands didn't.
True, but this was their 1998 album, and it definitely got criticism after First Band on the Moon. People thought it was too downtempo and trip-hop-y compared to the indie pop they were known for.
They had their "war" with Army of Lovers and then the lawsuit vs the Hives so it was not living on easy street for them at the time.
@@mentuemhet Ivy were great, pity they're not a band anymore, the spin off bands are quite good.
