We all saw them twice on the Car tour this year and our son is bigger fans than we are now! Also rapping the entire Slim Shady LP had the same result lol! I’m not quite as happy about that one!
I have ,watched this post at least 10 times, it is my go to every Friday after drinking. Almost like a comfort blanket. Why? Because although I loved early arctic monkeys I never really understood or appreciated just how good the first album was, considering when they made this they were a bunch of 16/17 yr olds from Sheffield. Just seeing the genuine joy on your face when deep down you went into this wanting to hate it, but after 1 track having the love of good music to throw away your earlier predjuces to love the fuck out of what you were listening to...love your reaction almost as much as the best debit album of all time. All the commenters are vampires
Please don't sleep on his lyricism on this album! His storytelling is top tier 👌🏻 every one of these songs is a great commentary on being young and the music compliments that perfectly.
Thank you soo fucking much, it's been years since i last listened to this album for the last time, and you rekindled those teenager years of hearing this at the bus on my way to school... god... one of the best albums ever.
This is one of the first albums I listened to that made me fall in love with music and I’m so glad Brad loves it so much. After he didn’t like Humbug it’s so good to see how much he enjoys this. It’s reminded me how good this album is because I haven’t listened to it for so long. Take me back to when I first heard these tracks so I can get the same reaction as Brad has. This video has given me so much nostalgia. Brad, you have to listen to Favourite Worst Nightmare!
This was the first teenage rock band that had melodies this layered plus story intricate lyrics of real musicians since Led zeppelin 30 years earlier. Imagine trying to find strong rock riffs in harmony and the only thing out there is pearl jam and the very new but heavy White stripes. And then boom here it is
My favourite thing about old arctic monkeys is by far the lyrics and story telling - every song is just dripping with northern slang and such vivid imagery of the dingy pubs, drink and drugs of poor northern towns and it makes me feel at home every time.
i’m so glad you mentioned the layering. the way they layer everything has always been my favorite part of their music. i think you’d really appreciate what they do in Favourite Worst Nightmare too. However your critique of Humbug had me screaming at the screen lmfao. Anyway, thanks for the content. At the end of the day i just enjoy hearing people talk about things i like even if they hate them bc it’s nice to get outside my own bias.
When Brad said that the last song could make the whole album shit in his opinion it kinda worried me a bit bc I love this album wholeheartedly ... then I remembered the last track is Certain Romance. GG Brad GG
The reaction to Vampires needs to be in a golden frame, it's from another world. The edit quality Brad... I take my glasses of to it dude, outstanding. Given how the things developed with FWN, I would love to see SIAS, even if you hate it and destroyed it. It's so funny.
Watching you change your thoughts on maybe vampires halfway through was magical. I thought this would be a typical album reaction review but its very entertaining.

We all love tracky bottoms tucked in socks!
The line ‘He told Roxanne to put on her red light’ in When The Sun Goes Down is a reference to Roxanne by The Police
I stopped taking my antidepressants because Brad loving and enjoying music makes me feel so much better
And Alex was just 18 when he wrote this songs... stunning
Gotta be honest, my dad used to sing me mardy bum as a lullabies as a baby. I believe it was foreshadowing to why I love arctic monkeys so much 😂
Love this! I did the same with my son and like to think his excellent music taste is down to me and my husband singing to him as a baby! We all saw them twice on the Car tour this year and our son is bigger fans than we are now!
Also rapping the entire Slim Shady LP had the same result lol! I’m not quite as happy about that one!
“This album beats the sh*t out of you, then slowly lays you down to sleep.”
This is the best description of WPSIATWIN I’ve ever heard.

16 times. 16 times I've had to watch an American stranger fall in love with the best, the fucking best, debut album of all time.
Please don't sleep on his lyricism on this album! His storytelling is top tier 👌🏻 every one of these songs is a great commentary on being young and the music compliments that perfectly.
one of your best reactions IMO, i really like all those green screen effects you put in
Thank you soo fucking much, it's been years since i last listened to this album for the last time, and you rekindled those teenager years of hearing this at the bus on my way to school... god... one of the best albums ever.
And then boom here it is
My favourite thing about old arctic monkeys is by far the lyrics and story telling - every song is just dripping with northern slang and such vivid imagery of the dingy pubs, drink and drugs of poor northern towns and it makes me feel at home every time.
this is my comfort video
@@tarsilavasconcelos i come back to this video so often this is so real
It was worth the wait. But FWN will be amazing to see.
i’m so glad you mentioned the layering. the way they layer everything has always been my favorite part of their music. i think you’d really appreciate what they do in Favourite Worst Nightmare too.
Brad: "I don' t need this"
*Throws himself
Watching you change your thoughts on maybe vampires halfway through was magical. I thought this would be a typical album reaction review but its very entertaining.
This genuinely made me so happy, seeing someone else appreciate this album as much as i do!
So glad you didn't edit the last solo/outro for A certain Romance cuz it really depicted that feel of nostalgia/bittersweetness that it gives.
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights (you're welcome).
