Another great thing about the album is the story it tells in the first half. I miss the Arctics. They were so tight, creative, and energetic in their early days. Oh, the rifts, solos, wordplay! Helders was an absolute beast drummer! They lost that gang of 4 vibe after about the 3rd album and they were spread all over the world. Alex stopped writing interesting stories I guess when he moved to Hollywood and just became about coke and models. I listened to this album so many times I wouldn't even want to guess and tried to learn all the songs on guitar. Their last album I labored to get thru once. This album is a masterpiece and a product of the times and their age at the time. We wont see something like these ever again, and even arctic monkeys are NOT able to ever do something like this again.
Funny how you've listened to the album's back to front that you think their debut doesn't sound like the Arctic Monkeys, but most others say their newest stuff doesn't sound like the Arctic Monkeys and that's why we're attached to this one, it's a classic.
This was my childhood. In the UK we were given free tracks by AM online before their album. I remember proudly playing a AM track at school when I was 12 - we had a teacher who used to play music during the lesson. Them and Kaiser Chiefs were massive! I liked AM's first two albums but haven't liked any others; it is not the same sound and audience. That is okay - just not for me.
This video I so good. Arctic Monkeys' career was built on how absolutely incredibly amazingly good this album is. Though they haven't ever been bad, they never made an album better than this one.
I still remember being 11 years old and listening to their debut (I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor) on BBC Radio 1. There was so much hype around them. They had won a bunch of awards and they hadn't even officially released anything yet. It was amazing.

Yes!! This is one of my favourite albums of all time, being from the UK I grew up with it but listening to it as a teenager was insane! It's the first album I ever listened through on one sitting back when I didn't really care for music, and it's still an album I will listen the whole way through and never skip a track. SO glad it's held up as great for so long!
Not only was this the album that got me into Arctic Monkeys, but it never grows old no matter how many times I hear it. Tranquility Base is still my favourite, I just love how different and experimental it is to their other albums, but this one’s a rock classic to me. Watching this reaction felt like I was re-hearing it for the first time, it’s so good (the reaction and the album).
Watching this was endlessly entertaining to me.. "Turn-man?.. You're Spoiling ME!!!" hahahaha as someone who was on board with the Monkeys at the beginning and then lost interest in their later music, it was like watching my 20 YEAR EXPERIENCE: IN REVERSE/ In 20 MINS.... hahahahah You're reactions are priceless, on-point and reminded me why they were/are one of my ALL TIMES FAVs. I'll be spinning the Turn-man like I'm 17 years old AGAIN immediately after this... THANKs for the MUCH NEEDED reminder...
The thing with Arctic Monkeys is that they have so much gutts and confidence (specially Alex) to experiment music in and try and mix up genres. You could easily observe this when Alex right at the peak of his fame went and did a side project and made The Last Shadow Puppets.

Wish I could listen to arctic monkeys for the first time again 😔 just pure joy.
You’re evil for making me wait for a second part.
Im so happy you went into this with no idea whatsoever how chaotic and energetic this album is
I still remember being 11 years old and listening to their debut (I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor) on BBC Radio 1. There was so much hype around them. They had won a bunch of awards and they hadn't even officially released anything yet. It was amazing.
The Strokes need a redemption Brad, you have to listen to First Impressions of Earth now
I think he would hate that album to be honest lmao
@@sanderaser8886 yeah maybe lol, i just want other Strokes album tbh, cause Brad literally butchered Room on Fire, maybe Angles or Comedown Machine will like him or not XD
YES
@@sanderaser8886 nah, he'll definitely like it
@@sanderaser8886 First Impressions is more dynamic than Room on Fire though. His main problem with Room on Fire was that he was bored
oh my god Brad i've been waiting for this for ages, and you most definielty did not disappoint. Excellent editing, excellent video, can't wait for part 2
please do favourite worst nightmare!! it’s their best album x
Debatable

Debatable
Not debatable
Ok so you've made me fall in love with this album all over again. You'r'e ENERGY IS EVERYTHING
I must admit that the beginning of this video is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in years.
No one:
Not a single soul:
Brad: F L A V O R
This album does kick ass
The whole problem Brad is that you approached AM back to front. Now go forward through the later albums with a renewed sense of appreciation.
I'm calling it: Brad is not gonna like red lights indicate doors are secured
I don't think he will like the "vampire" one, for me it's kinda meh
@@guilhermerosa6985 i always, always skip vampires.
You were all wrong, boys
@@danieldeburgh8437 Bruh the beginning is a bit eh but the middle onwards so is so sick
@@danieldeburgh8437 this is blasphemy
Not only was this the album that got me into Arctic Monkeys, but it never grows old no matter how many times I hear it. Tranquility Base is still my favourite, I just love how different and experimental it is to their other albums, but this one’s a rock classic to me. Watching this reaction felt like I was re-hearing it for the first time, it’s so good (the reaction and the album).
"wait a minute this is actually pretty good" YESSS!!!!
It blows me away that it has been a year since this video. Still my favourite video on the internet.
Favorite Worst Nightmare is just this album but 1.5x better (IMO)
Couldn’t have put it better myself
It's definitely not. (IMO)
Yeah, no. Not even close.
@@cactaceous oh no my opinion is wrong!
Genuinely dont think I've ever watched such a good reaction video. So informed, totally gets it, and was just having a great time.
I never waited so long for a part 2 in my life
Its been a month
Another banging video, my dude. Keep the content coming.
I recommend listening to the last few seconds of riot van before jumping into the next song, they’re connected in the story and flow really nicely
Aw Fuk!! Who am I kidding?!>! hahahahahahahah
Screaming "BARS" to every other lyric is the only way to properly respond to this album. It's insane he wrote this at such a young age.
The thing with Arctic Monkeys is that they have so much gutts and confidence (specially Alex) to experiment music in and try and mix up genres. You could easily observe this when Alex right at the peak of his fame went and did a side project and made The Last Shadow Puppets.
