What's interesting about Brad finding the songs on this album as being more, um, full (for lack of better terms) than Pablo Honey is that a lot of songs from The Bends were already being performed during the previous era. Songs like The Bends, Fake Plastic Trees, and Street Spirit were staples of the Pablo Honey tour. High & Dry was even initially recorded in 1992 for inclusion on Pablo Honey.

Fantastic album. I kinda wish Radiohead would return to unique and mildly atmospheric Britpop. Maybe just give us one more album as a companion to this, like they did with In Rainbows and Kid A. But perhaps that era is gone.
I listened to this album constantly in 95/96 and it will always remind me of taking the train from Toronto to Québec and then the bus from Québec north to Saguenay - a 15 hour voyage that I made about 5 times that year. This album helped me endure it.
“Bones” is like if R.E.M. and the Pixies collaborated and wrote a cock rock song, which is pretty damn appealing to me, honestly. I wish it got more love.

Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends is hands down one of the best albums mainstream media has seen, probably one of the best of our generation.
Mylo Xyloto is decent too

Damn if this drained you just WAIT until A Moon Shaped Pool
I listened to this, this morning after a year and it made me tear up. Beautiful
I think Brad and I have the exact same crying face. I love seeing you get emotional at the same spots I do
"we'll never get tired of playing creep" - thom yorke, 1993
I’m loving the little history lesson at the start of this, Bradley Christgau 2021
The Bends is so underrated, Planet Telex, My Iron Lung and Bullet Proof I Wish I Was are amazing
Fantastic album. I kinda wish Radiohead would return to unique and mildly atmospheric Britpop. Maybe just give us one more album as a companion to this, like they did with In Rainbows and Kid A. But perhaps that era is gone.
A Björk discography!!!
This constant Brad content is one of the best parts of 2021🙏
In May we had a Top overdose, and now a Radiohead overdose, two of my favourites bands, thank you Bradley
I listened to this album constantly in 95/96 and it will always remind me of taking the train from Toronto to Québec and then the bus from Québec north to Saguenay - a 15 hour voyage that I made about 5 times that year. This album helped me endure it.
I think the bends is criminally underrated as radiohead albums go, I'd put it as second only to ok computer
“Bones” is like if R.E.M. and the Pixies collaborated and wrote a cock rock song, which is pretty damn appealing to me, honestly. I wish it got more love.
Yeah it's souper good
i'm so excited for you to hear In Rainbows
I think it would be really cool to hear you react to Muse. It’s an amazing band that I think you would like. I recommend origin of symmetry or absolution, since both albums are amazing
I just started to get in to Muse so far I think their first two albums are the best is their any other albums that have more of that type of sound?
My favourite is Black holes and revelations, it's just incredible especially Hoodoo and City of delusion
The Bends is almost a perfect album...
They had two other awesome tracks recorded
around the time that could have replaced "Bones" and "Sulk".
They are called "Talk Show Host" and "Banana Co." you should check them out in part 2 as bonus tracks.
Banana Co. Is honestly one of the best songs from their b-sides, I'm happy someone actually notices it now!
haven’t listened to banana co. but talk show host is so beautiful. easily in my top 10 favorite radiohead songs
Talk Show Host is on the Romeo & Juliet (1996) soundtrack. Such an amazing film soundtrack!
The Trickster is also a great Bends B-Side
i like suck, is a good song
One of the best albums period. Easy top 10 right now for me.
And also, your taste in music, the incorporation of memes and humor into the video, and the quality... I'm definitely subbing
