If you're having trouble crafting gear at any particular stage of the process, it's alright to use NQ vendor gear as long as you meet the base stat requirements laid out in the google doc. Materia melding goes a long way here! Always make sure you're saving the most gil in the process ;)

If you have significant spare Levequest allowance and access to the Crystarium, then I would recommend for Culinarian at 78 to make or buy HQ Coffee Biscuits for solid XP and gil instead. Just an idea on how to integrate the Coffee hustle.

Could you please show an example of using NQ vendor gear please? The highest I can achieve is only 403cp melding 1 slot on every piece of gear and tools. I assume it has something to do with overmelding and I have it unlocked yet still unclear how to go about using NQ gear.

12 million seems like a lot. You must've bought everything straight off the MB and followed the guide exactly step by step.
Most I've spent was on food and it was only 100K. If you're not careful, it is possible to spend too much trying shorten the level time. What I mean is, any time you saved while leveling will be lost when paying back the initial cost of buying everything off the MB.

Some things of note that wasn't in the video: please do NOT skip out in your crafter job quests!!
They can be dull at first but some crafters have an entertainable questline!
Not to mention that the experience they give is HUGE! Even at high levels they give you 3/4th if a level, and around level 64ish you unlock Manipulation and a trait that increases the frequency for 'good' quality to show up through your job quests. Getting to 80 without these skills is fine but it's handicapping yourself.

Worth amending to add into this - GC hand ins give a TON of exp. HQ doubles, * items double again. Handing in HQ * items gives you 4x normal exp reward. This was why my crafters hit 80 before I even hit the end of HW. I had to buy a ton of mats off the marketboard but you just craft 2 or 3 of each hand in and sell the spares and generally profit as you go.

A few things to note as a trial player who tried (and failed) to do this....
    1. The macros listed in the guide are out-of-date. Here is the current lvl 21 macro:

    /ac "Basic Touch"
    /ac "Standard Touch"
    /ac "Basic Touch"

    /ac "Basic Synthesis"
    /echo Craft finished
    2. You cannot do this on trial version. The food required is not available without the market board, and the food is 100% necessary to complete the crafts. The foods that work are the HQ versions of Chilli Crab / Tsai tou Vounou. They simply aren't available for us trial plebs.
    3. I got nothing else for this. But at least I'm prepped for later in the week when I can actually buy the game!
Thanks for the guide Fur Daddy!

I've been following this guide and I'm doing all crafters at the same time and currently I'm crafting the Ishgard 53-63 part. I already leveled my gatherers to around 77 (and they are slowly leveling through the diadem :P). The guide is working quite well. However, I've had trouble crafting the HQ gear after level 21. I ended up just buying the full NQ sets and then melding them and it worked to get right above the minimum needed for the macros (not sure about the 63 set yet though).
I also went in to this thinking it would be "cheap and quick" as the title says, but I do feel it would be nice to be a bit more realistic. So far I've been doing this a few hours a day for 3 days and I still have quite a way to go. It took a lot of time for me to figure all the stuff out whenever something new came up. Once I figured it out it was easy and quick to do with the other jobs, but it will definetly take more time than 2h/job. The gil that is needed to buy everything is also a lot more than I expected, when someone says cheap it can be cheap for them while being expensive according to someone else I guess haha. I went into this with around 4 million gil and so far I've spent around 1.5 mil while I've made around 400k (everything has not been sold yet). This is even though I've farmed the most expensive materials as well as going to different servers for the cheapest prices. I'm getting a bit worried that I will have to spend hours upon hours in the diadem for the 60 recipies since I probably wont be able to afford the mats on the market board, but I'm sure I'll make it work.
I do really appreciate your work and the guide though and I'm watching all your other videos as well!

One thing I did, that might help others: if you do all your quests up to 50, and because the quests above 50 have higher requirements to craft, save those for after you get 63 from ishgard, then go back and do all the quests from 50-70 with 63 gear (mine wasn't even HQ or melded, I just bought it from the vendor). This should get the crafters to almost 68 and you can use collectables to get to 70 from there and buy all the 70 gear. Also the armorsmith lvl 62 collectable "Rarefied High Steel Thermal Alembic" is a good one to use to get scripts to buy the Master III books required for the 60 quests.

Tips for y'all, to make this even cheaper. You don't "need" so much HQ gear. Besides 4/5 HQ jewelry, the lvl 37 ones, I used NQ items. Just do the materia quest and meld your gear some. Currently setup my lvl 53 gear. Still using 4/5 HQ 37 jewelry, NQ for the rest, and some materia thrown in to hit breakpoints. I'm set till 63 gearing.
Materia melding is WAY cheaper especially when you hit 53 gearing.

This is very true! I got stuck at the level 53-63 stage. I could not craft the Holy Rainbow set that is asked for in the Google Document. I had only a 10% chance to get high quality and I didn't feel it was worth it. Instead I melded materia to get the minimum stats recommended in the Google Document and I changed the food to Beet Soup since the Blood Bouillibaise was giving me way more CP than I needed. I did a test run to see if I got 380 collectable quality and I did.
      1. Buy NQ Holy Rainbow (5 pieces)
      2. Meld with mostly Control Materia III (about 8 melds). YMMV for what exactly you need.
      3. Use Beet Soup.

@@nicolefrench2968 63 HQ gear crafting was far easier then 53 rainbow stuff, I found. And after making a full set, minus the belt, I barely met requirements for the 63+ crafts, as said in the doc. i’m a bit late to reply, but i’m a new player, and i’m currently leveling my crafters, which are all around 60. made my own hq gear as well as gathered materials needed for recipes. i would probably estimate the amount i spent on materials i was too lazy to look for or for other reasons to be around 200k-300k, which is a lot more reasonable. it helped that i had my gatherers leveled so i could get most of the materials that i needed. i could only imagine having to spend millions of gil if you bought all the materials off the market board needed for each crafter, which i can see why that would get expensive quick, especially if you’re buying hq crafting items. just wanted to provide some insight.

This is the best beginner crafting guide I've found so far.
Does it matter if the macro doesn't always ensure the quality/collectability is maxed out? Just wanna make sure because I have no clue lol. I'd assume you'd always wanna max it out but maybe it doesn't matter and the turn-ins don't require it. I haven't gotten that far yet. Pretty much at the step where I just got all my crafters to around level 21-22, made all the HQ gear and melded it with some basic cp/craftsmanship materia to meet the stat thresholds. But yeah I just noticed the collectability when using the macro would stop just short of maxing out, so I figured I'd ask. I'm sure I'm gonna get my answer anyway here in a little bit.
But huge thanks for this guide. I'm someone who primarily plays FF14 for the story and raiding. I never really envisioned myself becoming an omni-crafter or even working towards it. Originally I just wanted to do alchemy and culinarian for raid food and stat potions but it seems like leveling up all your crafters at once really is the most efficient way to do it. When I first looked into crafting, it was so overwhelming and a lot of the guides were either outdated or pretty convoluted to understand if you're brand new to crafting. This is the only guide I've come across that's blatantly easy to understand for a brand new crafter getting started. Well done.

Maybe im not too aware of how much other ways to level up crafter goes, but those skybuilders materials can really start to hurt in the 60-71 especially like you need loads of them. Good guide for the quickness especially if you got gil to spare :)

Idk if numbers changed or something since you put this up, but the two macros for Lvl 60 Crafts didn't quite get it. They got Max Quality, but stopped just shy of completion. I added a couple lines to macro 2 to complete it. I'll post the whole thing (Macro 1 & Modified 2) below for easy copying.
    Macro #1
    /ac "Muscle Memory"
    /ac "Inner Quiet"
    /ac "Waste Not II"
    /ac "Basic Touch"

    /ac "Standard Touch"
    /ac "Basic Touch"
    /ac "Standard Touch"
    /ac "Master's Mend"
    /ac Innovation
    /ac "Basic Touch"
    /echo Macro #1 finished

    Macro #2 (Edited)
    /ac "Standard Touch"
    /ac "Great Strides"
    /ac "Byregot's Blessing"
    /ac "Veneration"
    /ac "Basic Synthesis"

    Hope this helps some folks.

So i was gonna try and make some ruby cotton gear and larch gear at level 63 so i could equip that gear and then craft the HQ versions of that gear. However i can't. I simply dont have enough craftsmanship, 1027 is recommended. Even if i already have the ruby cloth gear and larch gear equipped I'm still shy over 200 craftsmanship for ruby cotton yarn.
At this point I can't craft HQ ruby cotton items or the larch item. How am i supposed to craft that stuff when i can't even craft the ruby cotton yarn in HQ?

Don't know if I am doing something wrong, but the 25 grade 4 planks hardly got me to level 27 from level 24 carpenter. I followed the guide, but the XP is like 9k per plank at +453%

    • @Natenator77
      @Natenator77 3 роки тому

OK, I don't think you said it specifically in the video, but the majority of the XP come from handing in the completed items to Potkin in the Firmament. If you're dumb, like me, then just go do that. You get 60k XP per plank. I ended up at lvl 44 after handing in all 25 planks. Sorry to doubt you Fur Daddy T-T

Actually don't buy the food he mentions, it's way too expensive, just craft both high quality tools of the appropiate level, meld cp materia onto every piece, then eat salty cod which is +8% control and u can buy on regular vendors. This is a cheaper way to do it, and you can even remove the veneration step from the macro this way.
Other than that it's a really good guide!

Video would be extremely long, but the hardest and most costly parts are getting gear and crystal shards. There is no easy way to get HQ gear nor is there a guide that tells you how to make the gear into HQ gear. It is annoying when as a player, I spend all this time macro'ing through everything, and the few times where I have to "hand craft" the gear I don't really know what I'm doing. There is also no guide on getting the materials. Even when going as far back as getting plants to make the thread, which makes the cloth, which makes the gear, the stuff is very costly on the Market Board. What makes it so costly is that everything is sold in large stacks. I don't need 99 plants. I need like 20 if that. And I only need two cloth to make the gear. You literally have to make a shopping list for all of this and none of it is cheap. So you either farm mob and grind DoLs or pay 1mil or more gil by the end of it.

hey man, thanks for this guide. it was really helpful. there were some questions I have though:
I feel like even though I gather slightly more materials than are shown in the document, i manage to run out just before i reach a level threshold. im not sure if this is an issue on my end or if the numbers in the doc are slightly off. for example, it took way less than 20 crafts to hit lvl 53 from 41. I then ran out of cobalt ore before i reached 63 on the same class, despite me gathering enough for 20+35 crafts.
also, i searched up the xp difference between level 53 and 63. divided by the xp value given by the highest tier of the lvl 40 skybuilder craft, it comes at 35 crafts, just like you said. However, 35 crafts later, im still one craft short of 63, despite only need about 34 crafts mathematically. im not sure what the problem is: does the game bug out on xp if you get large amounts at once, or is the website that gave the xp difference just wrong?
    again, thanks for the guide!

  • @SilviteRamirez
    @SilviteRamirez 3 роки тому

From 53-61 is it 35 more of the Lv40 crafts? At the turn-in NPC it doesn't show the same tiering for me as it shows in your guide so I'm wondering if I'm turning in the wrong thing... (I'm turning in the Grade 4 stuff)
