Flipside, 3 jobs to play if you love yourself: Healer: Sage. Straightforward tools with less jank than their counterparts, consistent controllable healing with kardia, and an extremely strong robust oGCD healing kit that is strong than scholar's while also having better GCDs than scholar should push come to shove. Sage feels like they reworked scholar and then made that rework into its own job while scholar was left in the dust. Sure you lack some techy things that SCH can do, but you are rewarded massively in general usefulness and quality of life. Tank: Paladin. Incredible party utility and single target mitigation. Rotation is simpler compared to other tanks, but this just means less barriers to using mitigation, and rotational complexity is more strategic than other tanks, with the use of magic combo being flexible enough to let you adjust to the fight. That mobility and utility make paladin so much more comfortable to play, while also having an iconic tank aesthetic. DPS: Red Mage. An easy to learn rotation with enough choices to make for it to actually have a surprising skill cap in optimisation. Undeniable unmatched utility that makes prog so much more comfortable. Strong personal DPS matched with party buffs on top of the unmatched utility make this job never feel like a bad pick. You can even flexibly take a melee spot in a 2 caster setup. Easy to learn, interesting to master, and rewarding in essentially every aspect that a job can be rewarding makes this a no brainer.
I'm going to hard disagree with...every...point you made about Sage. I felt the same way at first, until I played both of them back to back for raiding and learned very quickly that Sage drops off in ways Scholar never does. Kardia is nice, but I'll keep the fairy because she is just a party regen in a cute package and the directed abilities are all just...*chef's kiss* Having a dash is nice though, I'll give them that.
Dark Knight main here, can't be edgier than us, we literally pull out our emotions to create a dark clone. Can't get edgier/emo than that. From 0:30-0:33, I have never felt so accurately attacked in my life. No, I don't actually drink, but sometimes playing white mage makes me wish I did. However, as I fear the responsibility of tanks, am embarrassed when I mess up combos, and love me some commendations (they make me feel all tingly like I actually accomplished something) I am trapped with white mage.
I used to be a WhM main, now Pal. Healer anxiety >>> tank anxiety. As a beginner tank, the only health bar you need to pay attention to is the boss! Your health bar is not your problem. Watch the boss and mitigate the big hits when you can. Really all there is to it at first.
I would like to add an honorary mention for Astrologian: do you want to hit all the buttons just to get out healed by Paladin? Astro is the job for you, just remember regens are a state of mind and you'll still get blamed for wipes even though all the Paladin had to do was Rampart into Holy Sheltron to not explode like a moron
I'm a DRK and to this day it still baffles me that there are floor tank dragoons (please stop doing this for the love of god) that are still better than most tanks.
Never understood why people think astro is weak when they still have the strongest ogcd heals in the game. I understand card system is hell for controller players but people are clueless it seems

As a pure healer I could easily heal people who stand outside of asylum back to full no problem. HOWEVER, if I see them standing there, outside of asylum, I will use swiftcast to refresh Dia and watch them die before eating up all the salt of "why didn't you heal white mage? Why won't you rez white mage?" Sorry, swiftcast is on cooldown.
Pssh ... wasting that swiftcast on Dia ... when we all know you should have used it on another Glare, refreshing Dia at greater than 1 second remaining is cringe.😅
Man, I don't play SAM all too often but I feel for them, Kaiten was so much fun to use AND they made the aoe a circle, I like things like cone overpower, it had nice range when pulling everything so when we lose the cone aoes, newbie me would have been happy but I not only learned to live with it, I learned to love them, you will be missed cone and Kaiten (But please come home Kaiten, my SAM friend misses you and I kinda do)
I got 50 different action buttons, a wall of text for each button that I cannot read because the font is too small, and no idea if the circle on the ground is a buff or enemy attacks. Let's do this!
As an Astro main, I am surprised to see whm on here. I figured Ast getting reworked from scratch each expansion would have counted for a higher salt content.
Sounds like you clearly haven't played WHM at all, especially pre the 6.1 "fixes". Yes AST got gutted, but it was still an amazing healer, unlike WHM where you tried specifically to not use 2/3 of your kit because it was a hard DPS loss, and your personal DPS was the only thing you contributed to the party since you know, you have no party buffs. ASTs are sitting here crying but their job has always at least functioned and has always been desired in high end content. Only took square 2.5 expansions to figure out how to make WHMs main resource even worth using.
@@JathraDH You're not wrong, but this was also not new for whm. It's always had no utility and lilies were only good for moving and were a DPS loss since their initial implementation. Point was, if you played and stuck with whm, you knew it was ass and didn't care because you like it. Ast has had drastic changes to it every expansion, including the one it came out in.
@@grampaseri Wrong. Lilies had no movement ability at all in their initial implementation. The lily heals were not added until SHB and even then they were still pretty worthless, although FAR better than in SB. All lilies did for the entirety of SB was try to bait you into using actual other GCD heals (C2/M2) (which were not instant) in exchange for a slight CD reduction on assize and tetra. They were effectively a different version of the free cure trap. As for WHM, yes its been shit since basically HW which is exactly the point. There is no better salt generation than being at the bottom and consistently at the bottom and watching all the other healers whine about minor things like they are major problems when your preferred job doesn't even function. So no, no other healer has remotely the amount of salt WHM has. Its an order of magnitude higher.
@@JathraDH I scrubbed Stormblood lilies from my brain, so thanks for that walk back through memory lane. I still don't see how it makes whm a higher order salty. Maybe compared to scholars and sages since scholars are notorious for rose-tinted HW glasses and sage is too new, but astro has had almost constant changes since its implementation and that is a contributing factor to why I personally won't even bother to play it anymore. Whm might be crap for speedruns but it's at least predictable in its playstyle and dare I say fun in dungeons. Maybe criterion dungeons will give whm its place to shine in the future.
I love playing white mage, but I agree on the blood lily. It'll never hit three stacks. There needs to be an ability to convert your unused lily charges into blood lily. Also, I hate black mage. No, I don't hate myself when I play it. I just hate the job. I likely will never get it to level cap.
Given that I have finally put in the work and "learned" to play a healer, I hate every dumbfuck dps aside from myself because apparently no one can learn fucking mechanics. Cutter's Cry is not a meme, it is reality as a healer. I shit you not, my second run of the dungeon as WHM I had a DRG that refused to move out of range when Ram's Eye cropped up. Almost killed him the first time then it actually him the second time. He refused to move the electric orb and got the tank zapped too. I used so many Esunas that fight, it could cure all of Aurum Vale. Never before have i hate a role more than healer.

I was expecting DRK with a 5/5 for contempt, cause most of the complaints DRK mains have had over the years still haven't been addressed, while every non-DRK player kept telling us "your DPS is so good, stop crying" while forgetting the role of a tank is to tank and that's where most of the issues lie, and then when we do finally get some QoL that should have been included at the start of EW instead of basically NOTHING we're told we've gotten too much and it's OP now..... even though they all liked to point at the numbers and performance of DRK as "proof" they were fine but then also choose to ignore the fact those numbers didn't change when we got "over buffed" with our QoL changes..... So yeah, as a DRK main, lots of contempt and I laugh at your GNB struggles.... CAUSE OF ALL THE CONTEMPT I FEEL!!!!
I almost felt attacked when Lucy went after Gunbreaker, until i realized she was spitting nothing but bars. Then I forgot why I was feeling attacked by Lu... Lulu? Someone called lulusomething demon girl... I think? cause it's now time to press more buttons.
I used to love my white mage. Regen, lilies, nuke, holy spam...it all seemed so great. And then I played the other healers. If ever I'm tired or need to JUST focus on mechs, I'll play my white mage. If I want to have fun, I'll play literally any other healer.
As a SAM main, surface-level contempt fortunately translates to cackling, schadenfreudian glee when you watch other DPS die to mechanics...when you're not the one dying to said mechanics.
I think you mean 3 jobs to play if you want to have the most fun. None of these jobs are remotely bad. in fact no job in FFXIV is, but these arent even close to contenders for "most microscopically worst"

The worst part is a combination of the worst tank and the worst healer. Don't play dumb, you know it too. This feeling you'll never forget and always dread, the horror, the utter despair that will shatter your soul when your tank hit hyperbolide a second after you used your benediction.
As someone who has everything at 90 and does Ultimate raids: It really doesn't matter what you play as long as it fits your playstyle. A job that is not distracting you from doing mechanics and keeps you entertained. For mer personally that is: Paladin, Warrior, Monk, Bard, Reaper, White Mage and Sage. Don't know why but with these jobs I am "in the big brain zone".
As someone who's played both Dark Knight AND Gunbreaker. Dark Knight is basically the slightly edgy but also heroic main character(Like Ichigo from Bleach) or rival character (Like Riku from Kingdom Hearts) who just doesn't give up. Gunbreaker is Squall from Final Fantasy. Almost directly. Though neither can compare to the edge that is Dragoon, we literally are drawing on the powers of the beasts we fight and one misstep, we become the beasts. At least lore wise.
Yeah the Kaiten thing... hurts me. Not only because there was no better feeling than critting your Midare, but also because it's a direct nerf to thatthingmostSAMsneverusehiganbana.

@@owenwells7692 considering samurai doesn't even have a traditional damage cooldown kaiten was a fun little thing to keep the job engaging, a little meter management and a flashy animation before doing cool thing. it's a really unnecessary change that makes the job less active
instead of giving kaiten more utility to make the skill interesting they decided to remove it for "button bloat" (ast says hi) reasons instead of combining ikishoten and ogi namikiri into one button
It's about the buildup to a satisfying conclusion.
As somebody who mains Samurai and Dragoon, removing Kaiten is actually fucking amazing. Anything that frees up a spot on my action bar is welcome in my book.
@@SaveMeXenu Fellow Dragoon main here and yeah sometimes it feels like I am playing a damn piano when doing dps.
They only way they can make samurai cooler is make them historically accurate samurai...by giving them guns. Thank You Nobunaga chan
Not to mention some of gunbreaker's attacks sound like the attack attempts of someone with nothing to lose. "Eye gouge", "abdomen tear", "jugular rip", and of course, "double down."
I kinda like the feral animal vibe of the names
Kinda almost makes me want to mod the tiger bar from No More Heroes for my job mechanic gauge instead. I think an angry tiger breathing flames would be dope as hell!
Double Down is funny cuz in story it's move that we just straight up stole from Gaius. Like, we saw him doing it in the Praetorium and thought "I'm gonna do that too"
Gunbreaker is the real "rip & tear" job
Thank you for your continued support to us SAM. Don't worry though, we all have our eyes set on 7.0, where they're going to give Kaiten back at level 96, slightly modified and with a different name (they had to remove it now because they had no idea what to add later with single target ogi). The low crits also make me want to commit seppuku rn but they'll increase eventually as the patches roll, it can only get higher right haha?! I'm so happy with this job!!!!!!!!!

@@xviii5780 I became war for the absolute hilarious insanity and the fact I can just go "oh no the healer is dead... anyway I'll deal with this boss without one"
Paladin can do it too but it takes longer what with having to actually cast heals.
As a White Mage main, this is beyond accurate. Especially the contempt, but specifically to Scholars
Anything level 50 and below minus some hard mode dungeons and trials, Eos heals by itself. I love SCH, leveling roulette is chill time.
Microdosing sudden death after accidentally clicking superbolide really is a high I just cannot explain. But I find a way for my healer who had a heart attack in the process
As a shield main healer, i can now spot them...
But i still hate you from the pitless bottom of my heart.
NGL, I let GNB's die when they hit superbolide and it isn't REQUIRED in raids/trials. There is another tank ready to pick up the aggro, you aren't THAT needed. You can lay there and think about your bad choices for a bit before one of us picks you back up.

Edgy aesthetic and sauced up by the power of friendship? Definitely my main job.

Kinda hard disagree WHM is the most chill and comfy healer in the game, at least at lv60+ It just brings nothing to the table and so isn't wanted by anyone because it cant pad their shitty DPS and cant strap diapers on them to let them live through shit when they fail mechanics.
Since the job has an endorsement from our blessed(cursed) Lady of Cringe as one to play if you don't want to hate youself via exclusion from this list, I shall henceforth devote myself to becoming a BLU main.
Thank you, Lucy, for validating this decision.
Blue Mage isn't a real job, but it's *fun*, so who cares. It sucked ass when it was first released but it's SO GOOD now.

Everytime Freecure doesn't proc take a shot
Congratulations you're now either passed out before the first boss or you're playing the job correctly
What White mage get when he give up and just spam medica and regen?
And now the passed out healer needs a healer.
What's "Cure"? Once Cure II is available, I never touch it again. Hell, they could remove Cure III and I wouldn't notice it. I don't think I've ever unironically used Cure III. My healing basically consists of keeping my Medica II HoTs alive and Regen on the tank. Cure II and Lilies as needed.
@@mattstanford9673 Cure III is instant heal with a very large area of effect, medica is just heal over time. If you are not using cure III you are making your life just a litle bit harder, and the life of the other healer too, also, you can predict incoming damage and sincronize cure III making a full party instant heal, so you don't even need medica in the first place.

Flipside, 3 jobs to play if you love yourself:
Healer: Sage.
Kardia is nice, but I'll keep the fairy because she is just a party regen in a cute package and the directed abilities are all just...*chef's kiss*
Having a dash is nice though, I'll give them that.
Dark Knight main here, can't be edgier than us, we literally pull out our emotions to create a dark clone. Can't get edgier/emo than that. I use my childhood trauma and materialize it into physical emotional energy to attack. Create a giant AOE with my soul crushing depression to physically and emotionally hurt my enemies. ///_O
You really need to pick up drinking, there is nothing more fun than clearing a savage raid tier wasted.
I used to be a WhM main, now Pal. Healer anxiety >>> tank anxiety. As a beginner tank, the only health bar you need to pay attention to is the boss! Your health bar is not your problem. Watch the boss and mitigate the big hits when you can. Really all there is to it at first.
4:04 Glad to see someone else understands
@@itsukikoizumi8836 It is because far too many are controller users.

As a pure healer I could easily heal people who stand outside of asylum back to full no problem. HOWEVER, if I see them standing there, outside of asylum, I will use swiftcast to refresh Dia and watch them die before eating up all the salt of "why didn't you heal white mage? Why won't you rez white mage?"

Can we please have a short silent minute for Kaiten : <
R.I.P Kaiten
Loved you bro
Man, I don't play SAM all too often but I feel for them, Kaiten was so much fun to use AND they made the aoe a circle, I like things like cone overpower, it had nice range when pulling everything so when we lose the cone aoes, newbie me would have been happy but I not only learned to live with it, I learned to love them, you will be missed cone and Kaiten (But please come home Kaiten, my SAM friend misses you and I kinda do)
What's dumb is that Fuga is still a cone
I got 50 different action buttons, a wall of text for each button that I cannot read because the font is too small, and no idea if the circle on the ground is a buff or enemy attacks. Let's do this!
As an Astro main, I am surprised to see whm on here. I figured Ast getting reworked from scratch each expansion would have counted for a higher salt content.
It really should. If you main whm, you know what you signed up for, but with ast, the signup sheet keeps changing.
Maybe criterion dungeons will give whm its place to shine in the future.
the deadpan "we're stuck here forever aren't we" was lethal
0:00 Yes. That’s why I watch this.
"You will never get Aero 3 back"

I love playing white mage, but I agree on the blood lily. It'll never hit three stacks. There needs to be an ability to convert your unused lily charges into blood lily.
Also, I hate black mage. No, I don't hate myself when I play it. I just hate the job. I likely will never get it to level cap.
get three stacks on blood lily is easy.
people be saying MCH but if you're a MCH main you don't even need to hate yourself because SE will do that for you
Given that I have finally put in the work and "learned" to play a healer, I hate every dumbfuck dps aside from myself because apparently no one can learn fucking mechanics.
Happened to me also in Cutter's Cry. After the second time I just left him dead.

I want protect back on the white mage job that I play as little as possible now, lmao. The 'joys' of having it as your starter/main job, getting it to the 70's then spending ages getting another job or two up to the same level so you don't want to avoid dungeons forever.

There is some unknown force telling me to fuse the last to jobs on this video together an see what abomination I can make.
I main black mage and all the crafter/gatherer classes.
I can only be moved by rescue.

As a SAM main, surface-level contempt fortunately translates to cackling, schadenfreudian glee when you watch other DPS die to mechanics...when you're not the one dying to said mechanics.
Also I feel like no dps main has any rage left in them. 25minute to 2 hour ques has mellowed us right out.
I think you mean 3 jobs to play if you want to have the most fun. None of these jobs are remotely bad. in fact no job in FFXIV is, but these arent even close to contenders for "most microscopically worst"
Lucy IDK how you do it but every vid is a banger

Monk seems great when it's just punch, kick, punch, kick until you need to use a range attack and the despair kicks in.
The worst part is a combination of the worst tank and the worst healer. Don't play dumb, you know it too. This feeling you'll never forget and always dread, the horror, the utter despair that will shatter your soul when your tank hit hyperbolide a second after you used your benediction.

I tried to main healer...and I agree. It's the job to play if you hate yourself.
