13:30 For anyone unfamiliar with Star Wars lore, you might find it interesting to know that contrary to how they're portrayed, the Jedi were actually pretty miserable and irresponsible military leaders as a whole, frequently using needlessly risky tactics and failing to account for the physical limitations of their soldiers compared to themselves. While they did improve somewhat over the course of the Clone Wars, they were really thrown in headfirst and had to learn on the job. A depressingly small number of the Jedi sent to Geonosis to rescue Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padme survived. Of course this is really to be expected. The Jedi were never instructed or trained in modern warfare. They were never meant to serve as generals. They were peacekeepers and diplomats. And this was expected, it was even by design. Don't forget that the Clone Wars were orchestrated by Palpatine to destroy the Jedi, both physically by killing them, and spiritually by dissolving the faith of the people in the Jedi. The truth is most Jedi were not popular with the clones who served under them, who often felt their Jedi commanders were reckless and out of touch. Amazing Video! One small but very important critique I want to add is the idea of mixing both Canonical or Disney Canonical elements as well as events and history that take place within Legends. While I do believe there is merit in both timelines, mixing both were used for the sake of this video for creative liberties and telling the full picture of the Jedi. However, there is a lot of nuance left at the cutting room table for the Jedi and their ranks regarding their time in the Old Republic. In the case of Revan, his faction was fed up with the inaction and unwillingness for the Jedi High Council to intervene, as was instantly regarded as a war hero and savior due to his efforts throughout the conflict. However, other events such as the New Sith Wars (the Exar Kun Conflict) and the Great Hyperspace War were also directly involved Jedi ranks and each conflict HEAVILY relied on the Jedi to stop these conflicts from ever happening AGAIN as they were the bloodiest in Galactic History. Then of course we have the later wars fought by the True Sith Empire and the Old Republic, and the thousands of years after which culminated into the Jedi Lords being formed, a sort of utilitarian Feudal take on the order. Canon lacks any of these established events and we are only left with hints that there were wars fought between the two factions, nothing concrete. In essence, mixing the timelines does yield much more context, but context regarding THOSE separate timelines. The Jedi of Revan's Era were also extremely different from the Jedi of the Prequel Trilogy. In both Canon and Legends, each of these timelines have different contexts that measure each of these events and individuals. Still, I wanted to write this because it's important to realize the differences between Jedi in both timelines. The most specific example of course being that in Legends the Jedi were relatively more Dogmatic than their depiction in Canon, but then again, Legends has much more material by which we see the idea of the Jedi evolve. AMAZING VID ALL AROUND!

The reason Revan was able to lure in the mandalorians into his trap was that he had occupied the moon Malachor V which was a mandalorian holy planet so they had no choice but to engage. Something about the pre Disney lore I liked a lot was that the first Jedi in history were not a religious organization, but rather they started as a collection of scientists from all over the galaxy coming together to understand the more supernatural aspects of the galaxy, and so through the process of understanding they discovered the Force which probably started as a force like gravity but later came to be understood as something that has a will of its own and can be influenced by ones emotional state. The idea of the Jedi starting out as skeptics turned spiritual guides is quite powerful to me and I am deeply saddened that Disney threw this out the window
One thing that always bugged me about lightsabers is the handle design. They have lumps and protrusions and nothing whatsoever that resembles anything that you could comfortably grip during combat.
You really don't need grip when you can throw it and make it come back to you, it's mostly for "looks" to house the crystal, very personalized with the crystal bc it's alive and jedi have a bond with it
Correct, Staxson. And the reason why Sith blades are red is extremely fucked up - they take a natural kyber crystal and literally enslave it, making it "bleed" in the process.
I'm unconvinced honestly, they still need to "hold" the device and it's full of awkward protrusions. Yes they can use their powers to throw and recall but they physically have their hands wrapped around the hilt. Perhaps not every design looks flawed but enough of them
"Peace is a lie. There is only Passion. Through Passion, I gain Strength. Through Strength, I gain Power. Through Power, I gain Victory!" Do Sith and Mandalorians next!
you should really be more careful with symbology and the vehicles for these videos... Revan's sith empire had a very distinct logo stemming from the Star Forge, and there were no venators 5000 years BBY... but Harrower class dreadnoughts...
@@InvictaHistory OP is right, but since you mostly use info from the new Disney canon it doesn‘t matter that much, most of the lore about the history of the jedi is from the old Expanded Universe/ Legends canon, and much of the established info about the history already contradicts the old canon. Maybe you should focus on and use the Legends/ EU timeline, because that‘s where the vast majority of the info from. And it‘s a lot of info. Good video and much effort put into it, but kind of disappointed you don‘t prioritize the already well established lore timeline. Disney calling their new timeline canon doesn‘t really mean anything especially, when George Lucas mostly disapproves of it, as he made clear in some of his interviews. The new timeline isn‘t simply really popular among fans, the only reason there are a number of fans who somewhat accepted it is because of the generation of fans who grew up with The Clone Wars animated series which became part of the new canon, and because there are many characters and references to it appearing in other media. But even that show show itself took much inspiration and even lore from the previous Clone Wars multimedia, such as the as the dozens of official Clone Wars era novels and comics. For the Old Republic era history, the pre disney continuity timeline is a must, Dawn of the Jedi, Tales of the Jedi, Knights of the old Republic and The Old Republic, Knight Errand, Darth Bane and some parts on that era in some of the older source books and guides are relevant for it. It‘s of course a lot, so for some overview you could use Wookiepedia, which is fairly accurate on much, and at least the official Star Wars website even had links to articles on it, at least before the Disney takeover, there were also articles on the star wars website on the lore itself, but I think the „databank“ in its old form doesn‘t exist anymore.

Here's a cool proposal how about you guys cover the Warhammer 40k universe especially the Space marine
One thing that always bugged me about lightsabers is the handle design. They have lumps and protrusions and nothing whatsoever that resembles anything that you could comfortably grip during combat.
Look up Count Jedi Master Dooku lightsaber hilt design, he was one of top duelists of his time.
Perhaps not every design looks flawed but enough of them
love to see a video on the sith and their order and origins
The lightsaber which was traditionally worn on the left hip.
>Has the lightsaber on the right hip.
LOL.
I would love to see some Stormlight Archives Units of Roshar and documentaries.
"Peace is a lie. There is only Passion. Through Passion, I gain Strength. Through Strength, I gain Power. Through Power, I gain Victory!" Do Sith and Mandalorians next!
Through victory my chains are broken
Mandalorian warriors, GAR, Rebel Alliance, Empire and remnants, New Republic, First Order, Separatists! Lots of cool stuff to do!
I am so happy you mentioned High Republic stull. Though a Nihil namedrop would have made it even better.
Awesome documentary!!!
Yoooooo, Star Wars invicta??? Dope asf.
i have never seen this much history and lore for star wars and the jedi order thank you so much for making this video invicta it was really enjoyable
As a huge Star Wars fan I’d love to see a sith video. This channel is crazy cool and I think the Sith in this format would be sweet!
I am a huge star wars fan man keep putting a little star wars content in you're videos i love it
Thank you for doing this. I love lore videos of both fiction and nonfiction. Especially if it’s Star Wars lore!
Maybe do one on the sith now that you have done one on the jedi? Amazing video
I would love to see you dwell into the lore of Yautja Hunter Clans.
Would be awesome for you to cover the Clone Army next!
Better yet, how the Clone Army was transitioned into the Empire's Stormtroopers.
you should really be more careful with symbology and the vehicles for these videos... Revan's sith empire had a very distinct logo stemming from the Star Forge, and there were no venators 5000 years BBY... but Harrower class dreadnoughts...
Noted. We will keep trying to catch all the small details but it can be tough. Feedback is certainly helpful
@@InvictaHistory I absolutely LOVED this video! Hope you Keep doing more Star Wars and also Warhammer content soo. Just one thing, 5:25 isn't this the later version of the Jedi code? Wasn't the earlier version different? In my opnion a better one actually
Love the video but you guys got one big thing wrong. There were plenty of Masters who weren’t on the Council. It was an honor among the Master to be invited on to the Council. Still loved the video and hope you do more like this!
I don’t think they actually said that masters are automatically council members, just that the council has to approve someone reaching the rank of master. I could be wrong but I don’t remember them saying it differently
Would really love to see this series cover the Sith Warriors!
My favorite history channel with my favorite universe? What else could I ask for.
Amazing work! Can’t wait to see more about the clone units
I absolutely LOVED this video! Hope you Keep doing more Star Wars and also Warhammer content soo. Just one thing, 5:25 isn't this the later version of the Jedi code? Wasn't the earlier version different? In my opnion a better one actually
This is fantastic. I really enjoyed watching this video.
Really hope y'all do Sith and Mandalorians too! Excellent video!
I would honestly love a series of videos going though the history of Star Wars
Honestly the production values of this video are pretty good just it is really awesome to see them combining classic EU canon and Diseny canon. In addition to getting a number of things wrong.
There were more than 12 jedi masters. Only 12 sat on the council yes but there were other masters that didn’t. A primary example of this is Master Qui Gon Jinn. He was a master. Not saying that masters aren’t rare, but there were more than 12, they just didn’t sit on the council.
informative, well made and constructive. Nice, a great way to put in what is the greatest protectors/warriors of this Galaxy.
My two favorite things merging, love it!
Awesome video! If I might suggest another unit to examine: The Agents of the Strategic Homeland Division
Two of my favorite things are on this channel roman history and star wars 👍
This was amazing.
Dope lol just recently started watching star wars stuff and this is a very nice surprise!!
The Clone Commandos would be a great video!
Yeah!
"Peace is a lie. There is only passion."
Who would win ?
1 Balearic Slinger vs 10 000 Master Jedis ?
If Sci-fi is now on the table, of course I'd love to see a series of Videos on the Spartans of the UNSC, or the Elite forces of the Covenant.
The amount of one liners in this video and comment section is staggering
Had no idea y’all branched out into fiction, this is awesome
Have you been living under a rock for the past… the entirety of this channel’s existence?
@@randomelite4562 🤨what’s your point
If this series keeps going, I'm supposing the Mandalorians are just around the next parsec.
And I hope he takes the Expanded Univers take on the Mando‘ade. Much superior to the Disney Canon butchering.
ABSOLUTYLY FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome video, Invicta created.
I loved this! More Star Wars please! Or some Warhammer! Fantasy, Age of Sigmar or 40K.
Nice video! I would love if you cover the Sith Empire!
High quality lore video ... as a starwars nerd i love it !😊
You guys should make a 2nd channel that covers Sci-fi and Fantasy content.
What was the background music for this video?
I'm not a fan of the current cannon, but love how you merged legends content with current cannon. Overall, great video!
This was a such an amazing unexpected surprise! What could be better than in depth Star Wars lore paired with Invicta art in the back!
Beautiful stuff Invicta
The greatest of the Jedi teachings is this "He that holds the high ground, is not to be messed with, don't try it".
Hello there
This is the Way.
