My 3v bscly has the same mods and made 343 initially. After adjusting some torque management settings, my tuner was able to get it north of 360. Also, finally found a pair of heads I'll be sending to Livernois 💪
Oh wow some new heads? Can't wait to see them in action
Thanks for watching!
Four Eyes update video soon I’m assuming
Waiting to see the new devised car. Heads? I didn't think there was room for improvement on the 3vs cylinder work. How much does that cost? Can I get mine done?
Brenspeed has done alot of work on my 07 GT always excellent.
Thanks for the 3v content
No problem!
Damn right 3v really is the shit
I have an 06 and you guys helped me alot with the new tune and suggested JLT CAI...the improvements were incredible. Just seat of my pants dyno, but no question of the HP gains.i have all the upgrades that this 06 has...THANKS AGAIN!
Glad you like it!
Have you dynoed it bernard
My '06 GT made 365/340 with the Ford Racing TB and Intake.Detroit Rockers,JBA headers and a complete 3 inch exhaust with an off road h pipe, PA Performance alternator, and a Roush CAI,Ford one piece driveshaft and 4.10 gears. It runs and drives great! Very happy with it!
Very nice!
Are those JBA shorties or the long tubes? I hear the mid length shorties are nice
@@captaincobra4578 Long tubes...
Detroit rockers and borla mufflers sweet sounds to my ears!
THANKS for watching!
Great video Sir. I can't wait to get my Ford Racing Tb and Intake Manifold. Furthermore, I am getting rid of the old C/L Street CAI for a JLT3 CAI. My car now with all the other stuff besides these bolt-ons is faster than it should be a course your Tunes are the very best out there.
You will like the JLT3 it is much larger than that old C&L street. The C&L street was awesome back in say 2008 but the JLT flows a lot now.
Good to see I’ve got almost the same setup. Ford racing manifold on the way already have the hot rod cams no cats or mufflers 3” stainless x pipe straight out the back gt500 60mm tb k&n cai sct-x4 and a zex kit currently jetted for 75 shot but still gotta finish up a few things before I spray it and the 4.10 gears going in this Thursday just mounted a set of Mickey Thompson et streets outback can’t wait for it all to be done. If I can make anywheres near this 347rwhp n/a I will be super happy I was thinking 325-330rwhp n/a with eventually a 100 shot on top of that. Just watched your video of your coyote swapped v6 s197 and I’m really thinking about getting that clutch tamer since we rocking a 5 speed. I’ve never heard of that gadget and it seems pretty legit. I’m just shooting for 11.99 in pretty much a full weight 08 gt
Sounds like a fun car!
Awesome work, i am planning on doing fbo my f150 09 5.4 3 flex fuel, with those, any estimate about what my horsepower and torque would be.
Awesome 3v content.
THANKS
Thanks for the NA 3v video 😎
Not a problem!
I'd love to do this to my Sporttrac, make it quick enough to be a fun daily driver.
Thanks for watching!
This would be a great package for a 3v Explorer/sporttrac. Basically a 400hp Suv or truck
I have the same mods but without the Manifold and with BBR stage 1 cams, I made 358whp and 324wtq with a brenspeed email tune. That's pretty good conspiring I have 122k miles
NICE NUMBERS!
I installed cams and had brenspeed send me a tune and it runs like shit with the tune very disappointed
All American. I love it!!
Thanks for watching!
I have an 07 Shelby gt. Looking to do the same mods, can you still get a mail order tune for an off road mid pipe?
I just want to see the power difference between shorty and long tube headers
nice paint
Yes a pretty cool car for sure!
So what's is price wise what is better a coyote swap or this combo I'm looking to get more out of my mustang
First off, great to see there's still support out there for 3v's, so thanks! What great timing. . I was about to call or email to ask some questions about a setup like this. I'm interested in getting similar numbers with similar mods, but am curious how much farther a set up like this could be pushed. How much does power drop off after peak? It'd be nice to have some extra revs beyond 6,500/6,800. Could power still be made between 7k & 8k rpm? What could be done to stretch powerband and add a bit more power? Would valve springs, or head work add anything else to this combo, and would a stock bottom end hold up? Thank you kindly!
A stock head 3V isnt going to make power at 7 or 8k. They don't flow like a coyote, and I would not run stock oil pump gears up that RPM often either. Ported heads help but I would go with a big cam if you want crazy RPM. This graph does not fall, it stays flat at say 6800 as long as you have an intake manifold and throttle body.
Nice paint work. I’m considering adding the Racing intake and throttle body to my Throwback Package. Is it worth anything if keeping stock cams?
I do like those even with stock cams I love the mid to high RPM power. You could also do delete plates instead but the FRPP intake looks super cool.
Love the videos I’m really wanting to cam my 3v SOON but I’m not dead set on a pair of cams would you recommend Detroit Rockers over Mutha Thumprs and why?
Absolutely 100%. Mutha Thumprs typically have very bad low end bucking. Most people do not like them we removed about 6 sets many many years ago and then removed them from our website. The Rockers were designed due to that issue. So now you get lope, good low end and great high end and no bucking when your cruise is on. Also you do not need phaser limiters which makes install price and cost less.
This would be perfect for my 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac V8. ❤️🔥👏🏾💯💯
Thanks for watching!
I have the S-type catback already, but what exact headers and crossover pipe is on this car? It sounds absolutely radical, and I really could use this on my 08 GT. Thanks.
Kooks 1 5/8 and catted H or X. Can't remember which mid pipe. Prob H. www.brenspeed.com/05-08-mustang-exhaust-headers-kooks.html
Thanks
Welcome
If I put these on my f150 do you lose any low end torque and about what rpms would they kick in? Have you ever done these cams on a truck? 5.4 3v just seeing if It would be worth it, love the sound
Possibly a little on a 5.4 3V vs the torque stock cams a 3V truck engine offers but your mid and upper will be awesome. It will sound good and low end won't be much at all of a loss.
What cams do u recommend for forced induction. I highly want the narly idle that narly sound. But I have kooks long tube headers, h pipe, high flow cats , and corsa extreme. I have the Paxton novi charger, but I’m looking for cams and the ones I see say not for forced induction. So what cams do u recommend ?
I run our NA version Detroit Rockers with a Paxton because they will give you better low end when you dont have boost. Run the SC grind with a twin screw tvs style. Here is a link to the NA rockers. www.brenspeed.com/detroit3vna.html
What does something like this run, say with a 3500 stall torque converter, 3.73 gears and drag radials or bias ply street slick?
Like quarter mile run? 12's. Ive seen 11's on a light car and really and I mean really good air.
This is just like the nemesis from traffic slam 3.
Thanks for watching!
Great numbers. Did this car have factory 24lb injectors? Thanks
If memory serves correct yes it did. You can make that power on stock injectors easy. If you want to upgrade injectors use the FRPP LU47 47lb injectors. THANKS
AAA beautiful
Thank you!
I was expecting higher numbers given that the High Mile 3V Mustang with the same mods put down 357/328. Nothing a dyno tune couldn't fix.
Yah but these are within 3 percent of that other car. No two cars are going to lay down exact numbers. Even this car may make less on another day, or more on another day. THANKS for watching.
Hey there I was wondering if you could help me out with a few questions I had for you I put a set of jba long tube headers on my 06 GT I cannot get a good seal on to the engine they just keep leaking and it sounds like crap I used the jba header gasket which are like paper thin and Ford performance doesn't sell their performance gaskets anymore which gasket would you recommend I should buy I'm just kind of at a loss no shops around where I live want to even touch the car because of the long tees I guess thanks for all the great videos
The best gasket for the 3V is the stock gasket it is metal. You can actually re-use them they are so good. Percy makes a great metal gasket also.
Awesome so if I just buy the factory manifold gasket do you think I should use some kind of sealant as well thanks a lot man I appreciate it if I could buy you a beer I totally would
Is the custom brenspeed tune off American muscle the same as getting a custom email tune off you guys website?
No, if you get it off our website you get free updates to the calibration when you purchase parts from us that require updates. If you get it off of them you pay for updates. Is the tune the same yes, you just pay more later if you need updates.
I got 346whp with rockers, LTs, off road x, and jlt3...93oct dyno tune... Dont waste money on TB and Intake mani.
Nice numbers!
To get the most out of that setup you need more aggressive cams. The rockers are mild so are hot rod they do better with stock manifold. You can't compare numbers different days different dynos either. You can absolutely make more power with the intake but you need more aggressive cams and maybe even ported heads and Rev it to 7k to really see the benefit of the manifold and tb its all in the combo
Quick question Brent, I have a 07 GT 5 speed manual that I’m currently in the process of rebuilding the rear end on. My question for you is what gear ratio would you recommend for a 3 valve that will receive a Vortech ProCharger in the near future? Thanks
Not sure if I'm right but for a manual you'd want a 3.73 rear end
I like 3.73 for sure, but 4.10 will also work. THANKS!
3v are soft on torque I would go 410 but if you get on the freeway a lot 373 would save gas money
How would you imagine this basic setup would compare if using Ford Racing Hot Rod Cams?
Pretty close. HR cams make a bit less rwhp but it would be very close.
Would this combo work in a 3v 4.6 Sport Trac Adrenalin, where there aren't header/stall options?
How much would a 3v engine rebuild cost for a 08 mustang gt
Here is a link to the engines we install. It shows engine pricing. www.brenspeed.com/05-08-mustang-engine-engine.html
Let's say I pull the credit card out rt now. What is the price if you send me all ghat stuff today? If got a 05 with nothing done to its engine. I have headers and sport exhaust already.
My suggestion is calling in and telling sales your budget and seeing what they can ship you. 574.594.9559 they may have some package deals.
What does a set up like that cost installed
Hi Chad if you are looking to come in for an install email quote@brenspeed.com for current install pricing. List your year, parts you are looking for, etc...
still here
Thanks for watching!
Brent do you offer email tunes for Howard Rattler Cams?
Yes we do sales@brenspeed.com
Does it come with a mullet too?
Yes just 1 Mullett included. THANKS! LOL.
The intake manifold really moves the power band up. What are the cam specs?
They not gonna answer that question
@@devindarby4521 I know them.
@@DJDinaggio better keep it top secret like raising cane sauce 😎
Rockers are only .450 lift so no valve springs required. They always make good power and sound great without the low end bucking of say a thumpr cam.
Does this put it in the coyote 5.0 stock numbers?
Close, thanks!
@@BrenspeedEngineering sweet!
How many miles were on this? Is there a certain mileage to avoid modifying your car/engine?
Skylar McCuistion id say go with something that has 50k or less. Make sure they show you the maintenance history etc, (take a mechanic if you’d like) and you should be good to go
Brenspeed has done a series called "High Mile Mustang" where they modify a 3v and coyote with over 100k miles. Check it out as they discuss what to look for and get some really impressive results
This one had 55k but as Nathan said high miles are fine. Check out this series it is old but it answers your questions. ua-cam.com/play/PLyyePPaOSI81pg3OKvm2-htQDbTNKThdc.html
I bought my ‘06 new, so I knew it’s maintenance history. :-) Having said that, Edelbrock E-Force at almost 80k miles, and GT500 fuel pumps, Edelbrock CAI, and Brenspeed tune after that. Running like a champ at 120,000 miles and counting. Worry more about its history than a mileage plateau.
Paint job is awful period but I love 3v mustang's
Thanks for watching!
Does brenspeed custom dyno tune?
We do two things. Cars we build yes we offer custom tuning. We also have many mail order offerings. Our dyno is booked daily on cars we are building so we can't take appointments on tuning only as much as I wish we could. Its just a time thing...
What rims are those 😩
Sorry that is a pretty old video no idea what was on it.
I literally have all of these mods waiting to go on my 08! Are those dyno numbers after a tune? If so what octane? Thanks!
That is with our mail order tune.
Crazy to me. 5k in parts, no Labor. For 100hp.
Here is a good option for 150 to the rear wheels for around that price www.brenspeed.com/fbpaxton.html
This man has 0 dislikes I’m very tempted to be the first even though I did like the video
