I watch the whole video, last year my wife and I purchased a 2010 Rough Mustang for our 50th wedding anniversary. When I called Roush to get a build sheet they claimed that the car didn’t come from Roush. It is an GT Mustang and had only 5000 miles on it. The car is pristine It does have Roush plate under the hood that said it has 450 hp with 425 pounds of torque, and to drive this car it is amazingly fast To me. Your video makes a lot of sense to me thank you for the video.
Funny people say 3v sound great now...15 years ago when they came out everyone hated the sound because they didnt (and still dont) sound as good as the older sn and new edge 2v and 4vs. Kind of funny how people think differently these days.
Opened my view and pretty much made my decision concrete. Love watching your videos and seeing what different packages do to the 3valve. Keep the content coming good work!
I hung around to the end. I’m am older dude who has had many older muscle cars over the years. After selling my Jaguar SBC/XJS I ran across a really clean 2008 GT/5sp. It looks great but after living with it a while I realize it’s not what I expected power wise. I’d like something to take to the local 1/8mi but it could use a little help. Glad I found your videos, I’ll be checking out more. Most of what I was finding was Kevlar shift knobs, halo headlights and stupid loud exhaust videos. I was starting to think maybe this just wasn’t my crowd lol. Most of what I know about are big cube motors with carbs so definitely a learning curve on this sweet little car.
Hey thanks for watching and follow this channel. Watch all the 3V mustang videos on the playlist you will enjoy. Thanks. ua-cam.com/play/PLyyePPaOSI81BtzSrQjoJ_rJzqp6xzk1t.html
Stuck around to watch this whole video and this was hugely helpful. I have a 2010 GT with full exhaust and some bolt-ons. I've been looking for ways to get the power up in and your videos are helping a ton in terms of showing me the options available to me. Thanks
I'm late to this video but Brenspeed's tunes are GREAT! You dialed in my Paxton 2200 setup with LT's perfectly. I kid you not, the amount of time you put into these tunes show; from idle, to drivability, to WOT pulls. Never skipped a beat.
@@BrenspeedEngineering I'm building a full ARP 4.6L with 5.3 liters after bore and stroke, ford 5.0 boss block, stroker kit, and trick flow 195R heads. We're going to bring the little 2v to around 8K, I was wondering if you knew somebody who could spec the cams based on flow #'s
Amazing Video to share some knowledge of the 3v potential! Video needs 200k+ views!!! We live in a world where everyone sneezes at the sound of 700 horsepower. In reality a 500 wheel horse car, that weighs 3600lbs and is dialed in is still a solid runner!
Realistically I know it an old post btw but what kind of numbers should one expect with a 2.3 blowers ideally (550ish with proper pulley and e85)and a decent driver behind the wheel and the proper supporting mods tire headers etc. because I’m thinking coyote swap but if I can compete with low boost new muscle cars
@@smoke_oguwop what exactly are you asking? How fast can she run in the 1/4 on stock internals with full bolt ons and roughly 9-10lbs with a roush 2.3 blower?
@saggin 1 with a dialed in 3v you can easily get them into the mid 11s @117+ down the 1/4. If you go the extra mile with mild weight reduction and some lighter rotating mass components you can have a healthy low 11 second car. Many people got them into the high 10s on stock internals.
Ok hands down... best video on UA-cam about gettin power out of your 3v mustang What awesome dedication.. a shop and office and website and almost endless videos for every setup for every person budget or goal Humble approach and inspire confidence in any mustang owners v6 or v8. Listen to this guy man he knows his stuff when he breaks out the dry erase board pay attention... he gives away gold in experience and has been through almost every mistake you can make so you don't have to 💯 recommend

He really helps you choose " the right path" hah Peace to all your pony owners out there 500hp is no joke but with this guy smiling @ the power you get laughing comes naturally
Thank you for the information! You have answered almost all the questions I've had. The only thing different that I'm thinking about doing now is a possible 5.0 coyote swap in my 06 s197
Thanks a million for this vid. I picked up a really nice Vista Blue 2006 GT Mustang last summer. All stock save for a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter and a Magnaflow axle back. This vid has answered many questions because i have a lot planned for the car.
Really depends what you do with the car. I like aluminum for highway kick downs, I like steel for inertia off the line at the drag strip. BUT, it really depends on weight they are all different.
You guys installed my Roush two and a half years ago and I had to do a t56 conversion 8 months ago and with your calibration and it is truly amazing. I bought the 3.55 gears, moser axles and the eaton tru trac from you, it.s killer... by the way I watched the whole video.
with the way the aftermarket is changing i wouldnt doubt a 3v to hit low 10s or break 9s n/a fully built. especially if it ends up converted to a 6r80 or 10r80

Cool video, I have a 2006 lincoln town car that runs great. But would like alittle more kick to it. Any recommendations? It has 232k I change the oil every 3 to 5k miles . I only use mobile 1 full synthetic high mileage
I watched the whole video. Owner of an 06 for 10 years. After watching your Coyote swap, thinking about maybe doing the same and getting a price from your shop. I have 136000 miles with a fare amount of bolt ons mainly suspension, handling and SCT tuner. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks for watching. Coyote swaps typically start at around $20k depending on what you want. The want list can really drive the price up also. THANKS for watching!
I watched to the end, it was very informative. I have a '06 GT that I've always wanted to supercharge and you explained it nicely. Have you heard of Department of Boost? If you have, what do you think about their set-up?
Thanks for watching! I have seen a couple DOB kits way, WAY, back in the day but never really see anybody use them anymore. Back then I did not care for the 3V kit, but maybe now they are different.
Hey again Brent. I'm trying to determine the power limit of the stock block and am not finding anything definitive. Any idea on what kinda power the stock block can handle?
If we are just talking block with all built internals I have used the OEM aluminum block a bit over 800 rear wheel horsepower with good crank, rods, and pistons.
06GT 5r55 car with a m90, LTs, Detroit rockers, cai, stock pulley...never been dynod so I'd be guessing maybe 425 hp and maybe 400 torque. Car has 9 years and 600+ quarter mile runs with zero motor issues!! I bracket race the hell outta this car with complete confidence its safe and good to go. Runs 12.1s in okay air. We dont ever get great air in the tropics. 4.6 motor is a bracket work mule!!!! 😊🤙
Great Video I have a 2006 GT with a Vortech non-intercooled system from you guys, 3 years and 30,000 miles ago...ZERO issues with power or reliability. Doesn't matter how fast you are if your not running at all!
Subbed to your channel after watching a few videos, it's a different theme than most other car enthusiast channels and I don't mind it's a company plug 💪 your work speaks for itself
I'm only 4 minutes into it but I had to comment. So glad you are emphasizing torque over horsepower. I always tell my buddies torque moves the car. Horsepower is just a calculation of what the torque is at a given rpm.
Awesome, thanks for the no BS info. I'll take solid lower numbers on the chart if it means stone axe reliability. I drive a Peterbilt for a living, so I agree, torque is where it's at.
Want to start working on my wifes 06 3v car soon so I have been checking you guys out for the info and parts to do it with. Liked the video and subscribed to check out more content. Thanks for giving the 3v some love.
I have Saleen F150 Supercharged 5.4 3v truck. Unfortunately no one here in Australia has much experience with them. This video answered a ton of my questions and I am very keen to have a talk about my options.
Watched all the way. Got an 07 GT. 130,000 ish miles. Sat in the garage for three years! I know, I know...... 😂 Give me a break. I'm getting old, (58). Just got it running. New phasers. Thinking about making more power. Your videos are great. Subscribed !! 👍
Excellent video Brent, and thanks for busting an internet myth. So the limit for the stock 3V connecting rods is actually ~450rwtq (stock drivetrain with manual tranny) rather than ~450rwhp. As a 2006 GT owner, I'm always keenly interested in your 3V related videos. Keep up the great work.
Just seeing this today so I'm late to the party. My son crammed my 07 Kenney Belle 2.4 into the interstate retaining wall and destroyed it. I had just finished a rebuild with a 95 tesca block and a 5.0 forged rotating assembly. I was waiting on 60lb injectors to slap on my stage 2 130mm single blade t-body. I digress I want to add cams, headers and heads if they make them. I bought new in 07, slapped the twin screw on at 15,000 miles in 10 and blew motor in 16 with 49,000. Any suggestions and far as lift and duration on cam. Looking for bumpty bump and all she can handle at 7000 redline.
Great video, I'm a mustang owner as well. I own a 2012 mustang gt 5.0 and it's mostly stock with the exception of Pype extreme exhaust and converters deleted. I know your video is about the 3v mustangs and I like the 3v also. Just wanted to say that I agree with you about the torque vs the horsepower.
Thank you for being an open minded coyote owner who doesn't look down on 3v like omg they're so inferior but car gettin gapped by a stock coyote omg dude! Lol. There are alot of coyote fanboys out there that give us ford guys a bad name. I love all the mod motors and the coyote. I have an 07 gt500 and I absolutely adore it love that 4v 5.4 it's a monster.
I loved the video! I have a 05 stick car with a tvs2300 stage 2 kit. Its fbo running comp127550's I bought from you on the stock motor with 155,000 miles. Im so tired of my coyote buddies telling me that the motors are practically glass and won't hold 500whp. Keep the 3v Videos coming man.

No mods except cosmetic. What is the largest unit you would put on without me having to do anything to the auto transmission and other drive components and no engine work?
I would suggest a production 50 state kit like the Whipple or Edelbrock or Paxton or Roush. I have used the Roush kit and Whipple kit and liked them on the 18. All 4 of those kits listed are high quality.
Extremely well done video. I had a mustang that I so badly wanted to bring to you guys. From IL. Hopefully in a couple years I will be able to bring my stang for a big makeover.

Great team over at Brenspeed
Thanks a bunch!
Clint P.
Thanks Clint you will love that long block with your Edelbrock.
Thanks James.
There’s no denying that 3Vs sound sweet! I watched the whole video.
Awesome thank you for watching!
Brenspeed you betcha, thanks for educating us Mustang fans so well! You need to expand with a facility in Canada! 😊
Funny people say 3v sound great now...15 years ago when they came out everyone hated the sound because they didnt (and still dont) sound as good as the older sn and new edge 2v and 4vs. Kind of funny how people think differently these days.
Michael Harris I think the 05-09 GT always sounded great.
This video makes more since than any other video I’ve watched. Thank you.
Great thanks!
Opened my view and pretty much made my decision concrete. Love watching your videos and seeing what different packages do to the 3valve. Keep the content coming good work!
Thanks for checking it out.
Thanks
Glad it helped!
I'm late to this video but Brenspeed's tunes are GREAT! You dialed in my Paxton 2200 setup with LT's perfectly. I kid you not, the amount of time you put into these tunes show; from idle, to drivability, to WOT pulls. Never skipped a beat.
Awesome glad you like it!
Would like to see more 2vs builds if you get any
Will try as they come in!
Everything is at the machine shop being assembled right now them I'm putting the top end on to longblock it.
My general rule of thumb to play it safe is stock engine 550whp@6500 since yes torque and/or rpm is what bends rods that’s even for the 2v engines
Amazing Video to share some knowledge of the 3v potential! Video needs 200k+ views!!! We live in a world where everyone sneezes at the sound of 700 horsepower. In reality a 500 wheel horse car, that weighs 3600lbs and is dialed in is still a solid runner!
Thanks for watching and the comments Walter.
Walter Macknight yes, my bad I forgot to actually ask my question lolz
Ok hands down... best video on UA-cam about gettin power out of your 3v mustang
What awesome dedication.. a shop and office and website and almost endless videos for every setup for every person budget or goal
Humble approach and inspire confidence in any mustang owners v6 or v8. Listen to this guy man he knows his stuff when he breaks out the dry erase board pay attention... he gives away gold in experience and has been through almost every mistake you can make so you don't have to
💯 recommend
Wow, thanks! Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Watched till the end, Love this content Brenspeed!! I'll have my 08 Mustang Gt, 5 speed, 4.6 sometime this next month in December an I cant wait!!!
Awesome Max thanks.
Did you get it
Sure did! It's just been wrecked in the front end at 20mph, soon as we can finish my cousins 94 C4 Vette, were gonna start on mine! Cant wait.. :))
My dad and I bought a project mustang and your videos are the crucial when what your choosing your modification goals. In strwd going in blind with high hopes you go in prepared and result in reasonable expectations from your high hopes.
He really helps you choose " the right path" hah
Peace to all your pony owners out there
500hp is no joke but with this guy smiling @ the power you get laughing comes naturally
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the information! You have answered almost all the questions I've had. The only thing different that I'm thinking about doing now is a possible 5.0 coyote swap in my 06 s197
Great info. My 3v is at 450hp and 448 lbft/tq, and was afraid to go higher HP with the stock motor because of the HP "myth". Thanks!
Thank you for watching.
Good video! Would like to see one on the 11-14 models
OK thanks!
Thanks a million for this vid. I picked up a really nice Vista Blue 2006 GT Mustang last summer. All stock save for a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter and a Magnaflow axle back. This vid has answered many questions because i have a lot planned for the car.
Glad it helped!
Great video, yes I watched the full video! Thanks for supporting torque. My question would be when to use/not use a aluminum flywheel.
I bought the 3.55 gears, moser axles and the eaton tru trac from you,
it.s killer... by the way I watched the whole video.
How much u paid
Great Joe thanks for watching and glad you love your car!
I always gain a lot of knowledge from your vids man, I'd love to see what a built N/A 3 valve is capable of. Keep em coming
Thanks!
with the way the aftermarket is changing i wouldnt doubt a 3v to hit low 10s or break 9s n/a fully built. especially if it ends up converted to a 6r80 or 10r80
@@LightningFast240 I have a 07 roush stage 3. would I be ok with 10psi .I was thinking putting long tubes too. All I have is a cold air intake ,cat deletes..
@@israelcabrera4358 you'll be fine. Put some good gas in it. Make sure it's got fuel and nice and cool. Should last you even at maybe 12-13psi. Don't get too much crazier after that unless you forged the internals.
@@LightningFast240 thank you!!! I appreciate it...
I watched the whole video. I already have a few Brenspeed upgrades on my 07 Roush LC. But MAN do I need that boost! Thanks for all your vids. As a fellow Mustang lover, your vids always make me dream
Any time!
Watched the whole video ... awesome info as always - love the John Belushi poster in the background ... and "yes" - we all want to see a video of "no love" - lol
Awesome thanks for sticking around and it looks like NO LOVE needs some coverage.
Cool video, I have a 2006 lincoln town car that runs great. But would like alittle more kick to it. Any recommendations? It has 232k I change the oil every 3 to 5k miles . I only use mobile 1 full synthetic high mileage
Nice vidieo watched it all and would like to see a vid on "no love"
Looks like NO LOVE is getting some votes. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Being that they use the same connecting rods, would the 450 ft/lbs max torque rule also apply to the 2 valve engine?
Pretty much all of the 2v and 3v engines are limited because they all share the same rods which are...at best...adequate.
I'm 3 years late but I watched it all the way through.
AWESOME!
Great video! 100,000 miles with a Paxton 2200 run low 11s any day of the week. Great guys to work with and installation guides super easy to follow.
Thanks Shelby your car rips.
@@BrenspeedEngineering Thanks Brent. Always appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Damn thats a lot of passes thanks for sharing!
I watched the whole video...enjoyed information...I own a 2010 Gt full bolt ⚡ ons. No boost 4'10
THANKS for watching all the way!
Great Video I have a 2006 GT with a Vortech non-intercooled system from you guys, 3 years and 30,000 miles ago...ZERO issues with power or reliability. Doesn't matter how fast you are if your not running at all!
THANKS
Subbed to your channel after watching a few videos, it's a different theme than most other car enthusiast channels and I don't mind it's a company plug 💪 your work speaks for itself
Thanks for the sub!
I'm looking for a good start, smooth steady middle and a strong ending, hopefully for the win and I don't know where to start. Here till the end. 👍
I'm only 4 minutes into it but I had to comment. So glad you are emphasizing torque over horsepower. I always tell my buddies torque moves the car. Horsepower is just a calculation of what the torque is at a given rpm.
THANKS
Awesome, thanks for the no BS info. I'll take solid lower numbers on the chart if it means stone axe reliability. I drive a Peterbilt for a living, so I agree, torque is where it's at.
Thanks!
Want to start working on my wifes 06 3v car soon so I have been checking you guys out for the info and parts to do it with. Liked the video and subscribed to check out more content. Thanks for giving the 3v some love.
Great thanks surf the channel you will find a lot of 3V info.
I have Saleen F150 Supercharged 5.4 3v truck. Unfortunately no one here in Australia has much experience with them.
This video answered a ton of my questions and I am very keen to have a talk about my options.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Jeff!
Love the channel finally somebody that knows what they're talking about torque is what moves the car not horsepower!
Thanks Mike.
No need to respond. And I really enjoy all your video's. Go 3valves.
Thanks 👍
Excellent video Brent, and thanks for busting an internet myth. So the limit for the stock 3V connecting rods is actually ~450rwtq (stock drivetrain with manual tranny) rather than ~450rwhp.
As a 2006 GT owner, I'm always keenly interested in your 3V related videos. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for watching!
@@BrenspeedEngineering I haven't seen you do a turbo build up on a 3V. Do you plan on doing one?
2012 GT original owner. all the bolt ons and torque converter. Just learned something new about a different car. Thanks.
NO PROBLEM
Just wanted to say that I agree with you about the torque vs the horsepower.
thanks!
I’ve been helped by this segment and bought another 3v based on all the knowledge I’ve gained from your site. It’s nice
AWESOME!
You installed a roush 560R supercharger on my 08 a little over a year ago, and I love it!!!!! Great video keep up the good work!
I love the 560R. Thanks!
Nice set up!
Watched the whole video. Love seeing all those 3v's on the dyno.
Awesome THANKS for watching!
I am actually going to go and buy a 2008 mustang gt 3v here in a few weeks.had questions about it and this video covered it all thank you..stuck around and watched the entire video...looking forward to my new build after selling my built 2012...expecting this one to be better and more fun..thanks again for the information..
Glad I could help!
Watched the whole video and really enjoyed it!! (:
I've had two 3 valves. First one auto, second one is a manual with full bolt ons
bbk cold air
Twin 62mm throttle body
Ford racing manifold
Msd coil packs
Hot rod cams
Kooks LTHdrs
Magna flow catback
Duel GT500 fuel pumps
Sitting at 109k miles
I hope I'm able to boost my car soon with a edelbrock or (what I'd prefer) a 2.3 Roush TVS. 500whp would be perfect for me. Been a fan of your work for the last 5 years. Keep up the good work on the videos. I cant wait to see some more awesome content!
Hot rod cams will limit you as they bleed boost because of the overlap if I'm not mistaken
What about the 5.4 3v stock block ratings?
Back in 2006 I installed a Vortech on my bone stock 2006 Mustang GT, made 435 RWP and ran 12.1@115, ran it that way for years, loved it.
Great info thanks!
@@BrenspeedEngineering - I don't know if you remember Demolet (Tunable Induction) winning the CAI shootout back then but I still have that CAI in the garage! With that and the Demolet tune the car ran consistent 13.4@107.
@@BrenspeedEngineering - Wait a minute, I thought I knew your name. You used to sell Demolet's CAI right?
I have a vortech on my 99 GT and the rpms are always high anyway. It's a standard so I can launch at any rpm I want and I have 3.73 gears but I shift around 6500 and the rpms stay fairly high the whole 1/4 mile. I went with a centerforce dual friction clutch and I loved it
Thanks for watching!
Great info on a 3 valve engine I like the contents you did on all the Mustangs on all the superchargers
Thanks Vincent.
Thank you. I can't afford a coyote so now I'm looking into 05-10. Looking to see if I can run high 10s with a kenne bell and some upgrades.
Those cars are getting lower and lower in price. My opinion you can fry an egg on every kenne bell I have on the dyno. Look at a Roush or Edelbrock for a 3V car. THANKS
Lots of questions answered, thanks
Glad to help
now the big question is which one to go with?
Love watching brenspeed tv short but very informative videos. You guys are awesome
Kevin thanks for watching.
Watched the whole video! Great information about the limits of the 3v. Helped me tremendously in figuring out the direction I want to go on my 2010.
Glad I could help. Thanks.
I watched the whole video! I would like to see the video on no love. I’ve got an F150 with a 187K and I’m now seriously considering buying your edelbrock supercharger on it. I know it’s late in the game. But I’ve serviced it well and it runs perfect. No love may show me that I’m not crazy.
LOL I will put no love on the list. THANKS!
Great info, I watched the entire video. My 06’ GT w/ auto trans has been paid for a very long time, wife no longer drives it since getting her Lexus. I think it’s time for some serious upgrades. I’ll be looking at your turnkey kits. Thanks for the great videos.
Awesome thanks for watching and commenting.
Awesome video hope to have somebody like you here in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 so I can maintain my Mustang as best as I can, not that there are good mechanics in the island, is that it is specialized in Mustangs. Would love to tune my Mustang the best way possible. Love the Mustang community and love the passion people like you have. Mine is a 2007 Mustang GT/CS black stock; with 203,000 miles and counting ! Maintenance is key!!! 😌👍🏼
Awesome thanks for watching!
Seen the whole video
Awesome thanks!
Thank you for this video so hopefully the comments can stop about how much hp a 3V can handle. I was so tired of reading them after every video you did on a 3V great video. I watched the entire video as always and yes let's see no love
If you are tired of reading them, think about me reading them. Thanks!
This was really helpful. I have an 05 and it was right on track with what I was planning on doing.
Great thank you!
I want to see a video on the "No love" mustang! Great content. I stuck around to watch it all.

OK OK NO LOVE will get a vid, THANKS for watching!
I am VERY impressed by your 4.6L 3v videos! I did watch this ENTIRE vid because their mesmerizing! I have a '08 Sport Trac and a '98 Mustang GT both with the 4.6L 3v motor. I do NOT have the skills to do any installs myself, but would LOVE to drive out and have your guys install the topo 5 mods on both! Estimated price out the door? Great job on the vids; I am stoked I found out about you guys! THX and kudos! Jim
Hi links in the description for current parts pricing. Install prices can be found by emailing quote@brenspeed.com we are located in Indiana.
I really like the way you explained the difference between HP & TRQ! I have a 2007 4.6L GT 3 Valve(114K Miles). I would like to get the most Torque I can from her with or W/Out Boost. She has Long Tube Headers, Performance Aluminum 1 Peace Drive Shaft, SCT Tuned, Air Raid Cold Air Intake. I am the second owner, but for the most part the car runs BEAUTIFUL! Please let me know what would be the best Turnkey Kits for my car you offer? Should I Boost it or keep it NA. I really want to Hot Rod Cam it for Sure & update her Transmission (Manual).
I watched your whole video,I just bought an 07 gt that has 8,000 miles on it and have been wanting to supercharge it. Yall are only 2.5 hrs away I might have to bring it to you guys!
You are close!
Hi guys. Really good videos with pure facts and obviously no punches pulled. I have a 2018 GT 10r80 auto with just about 5000ks on it(just run in) Lol. I want to put an edelbrock kit on it.
All 4 of those kits listed are high quality.
great information on the difference between the two types of superchargers and their ability.
Thanks for watching Lyndale!
So glad to hear you saw it torque not HP..... I can't seem to get that thru peoples head!!!
Thanks!
Extremely well done video. I had a mustang that I so badly wanted to bring to you guys. From IL. Hopefully in a couple years I will be able to bring my stang for a big makeover.
That would be cool!
Thank you for making a video about the 3V. The forgotten Mustang years. Would love to live closer to have you install your B326 so I could spin up the Vortech!
Road Trip! Thanks for watching!
Every car gets forgotten around the 15-20 year old range....then around 25-30 years old they become cool again. Normal cycles.
Always great watching your videos!!! I need some of that torque!! Chat soon.
Good numbers to live at safely. My grandfather had an 08 Saleen SC. Pretty much a fbo car. 465whp after everything. Very fun car to drive. Looking to buy it first chance I get off the current owner.
