And Seemseal the whole bottom of the car! I made the mistake building a Camaro rear floor with just doing the inside and even tho I painted and rocker guarded it still rusted from rain water! I like this tip tho!
Don't use the Raptor liner under any paintwork. It takes a long time to "off-gas" and will crinkle the paint something fierce. MotionAuto TV used a similar bedliner product under the paint of his supra mirrors and they peeled right away and he had to strip everything off and start again. Awesome progress BTW!
He's talking about using raptor liner on the opposite side of the steel to seal any pin holes from the backside of it, then he can sand the face for the steel and paint it as normal and not have to worry about anything getting near the steel or the paint from the under side.
I wouldn't put that on any frame or body panels, it'll just trap moisture over time and will cause it to rust, seen many people do this and it ended up badly for them.
If you get a copper block and get behind those welds you can weld the holes closed on those spots you welded the patch panel to. The copper block will not stick to the wire weld from the mig welder. It works great for filling holes in thin metal.

A hard coupla days work.... but that sill / quarter panel repair.... you got to re do it...just cut till you hit clean metal..even if it means making that whole sill section, it wont take long, and the payoff will be worth it. 150% you need to dyno this car, not cut corners on the paint job and eventually put a full length belly pan on it. i really really really hope the entire frame and structural work is properly aligned so this thing just rips. this HAS to work. so stoked for you my dude

fast is in relation to speed. it has nothing to do with handling. funny drag racing cars are fast but they cannot turn a corner, so all of your assumptions amount to nothing broski. space rockets are fast, they do not handle. id definitely grab a dictionary, and look up the word fast while youre at it.
The steering wheel has a clockspring in it and if the steering wheel was turned more than 360degrees it may have been damaged and also if the steering wheel wasn’t put back to dead center 180/180, the steering wheel will throw some codes when you plug it back in.
i see other peoples videos on their cars like 'putting new floor mats in' or 'installing new wheels' , then there's these guys that almost complete an entire interior in one video... good work guys!
15:20 Why is the camera footage tearing up like that ?? Just thought I would bring it to your attention if you didn't notice. Loving the final bits of this series coming together man!!
Having a fan designed as a "puller" fan as a "pusher" fan won't help with cooling! Fan shroud/fan blades and motor are all designed to pull air through the rad!
Pretty sure they just had that lying there to plug into the harness. Notice the cardboard was still in place. The fan will probably still mount to the back side in reality.
Oh, man. I work in theatre. Sometimes you have a huge job and a certain amount of time to finish it. Sometimes it's too close to call. You work all hours, tipping away at the list, hoping you'll be finished on time. The stress is never completely overwhelming, but it's there every hour you work. A lot of creative decisions. I feel the exact stress watching these videos. God love you. It will work out, but I know exactly how knackered you feel right now. But it will be magnificent when it's done. Keep on trucking on, brother!
That front shot of the car right after you started it up was awesome! Just seeing the fan spinning and hearing the car running is a look and sound of accomplishment. Well done so far!
I'm so impressed with how this build is coming along, I've been watching the channel for a long while but this build I thought was a step too far.... Wow I was wrong! Props to you, absolutely well done to all of you for getting her to this point 👌🏻👏🏻
KEEP THAT HUSTLE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This car will be a show stopper, but, more importantly, it will be a trophy of what you and the guys can do. Massive props to everyone involved.
Hey man, I’ve been following the gtr and the hurican builds and this is my first time watching the Z start to finish. I really appreciate you taking the time to film all of this stuff and put it online for us to enjoy. I love all of the detail and the hangups you include in the videos. Super inspiring.
This thing is really starting to come together. Not trying to take away from what you are doing but eric is quite an asset to your channel and your builds, youre lucky to have him! Keep living the dream brother
This is the first video of the series that I've 'liked' so far. I've enjoyed them all, though! As much as I like the explanations of why you're doing what - these time lapse videos of just lots of stuff getting done are really cool!

been watching this build since the beginning, awesome progress, really hope he goes all out in making this car sick. like show car quality not just a track car.
I think you should coat the floors (top and bottom), wheel wells, and undercarriage with the Raptor Liner. It looks really cool, and it works great as sound deadening/insulation. Just don't do it where you're going to be doing any painting, as it doesn't react well with paint. Not sure why, I think it just takes a really long time to cure/off-gas.
Fantastic work gents! It's coming along so quickly! I don't know anything, but I think I'd fully weld the firewall where possible. It seems to me that a weld will hold against fire longer than seam sealer will. Just my $0.02. Keep up the good work!
This is going much better than I thought it was gonna be. Wasn't gonna leave any hate comments, and I'm glad I didn't. I was really sketched out by the previous frame rails you built. They just didn't look right at all. Glad it's coming together. And I see now why you moved the engine back away from the stock BMW mounts.
Don't forget if you have a trunk mounted fuel tank you should have a firewall between the trunk and the car to keep the any potential fire from the cell out of the main cabin.

Before you paint it you should drill out and put a washer over all your grounds, keep yourself from having to ruin any paint to make all the grounds

This X100
90 degree pneumatic grinder with a sanding disk it my favorite way to clean grounds
last thing you want to do is remove the paint from ground points, ya all need to listen to Dylan Mounsey
This has come a long way from a few questionable rails lined out on the floor.
It sure has!! I can't wait to see the final product !!

Won't really matter since he didn't fix the inside panel with the 20c hole in it.
its rusted under the paint. its done
Incredible progress, this project is really coming together. So glad you took the time to do the floor boards.

It seems to be that camera, it was doing it in another section too. May have been dropped at some point?
I think it’s because they’re welding so they have electrical interference. But just a thought. 🤷♂️
Yeah, i paused the video to check any comments about this🤔
Or might have to deal with the light emitted by welding. Camera lenses can only take so much abuse.
I may be totally wrong but I feel like it almost adds a cheap feel by not filling in hopes with welds. I just hate body filler for covering holes.
2:11 so Erick’s hole isn’t big enough huh? 😂
just gotta widen it a little
He's going to nibble on it a bit that should be very effective 👍
Lube will do

Fiberglass doesnt make a watertight seal with the metal so moisture will still get in.

That is a spaical cardboard...gas permeable... LOL 👍

Awesome work. It takes a heap of motivation at times for builds like these. Looking forward to watching this progress.

Why no bead rolling the long flat floor panels?
Eric’s a GOD lol . Great teamwork, glad to see this going exactly how you planned 🙏🏼
So glad to see floors in! Loving this build
Why not paint the top part of the frame before welding in the floor?? Will it not rust?
I was thinking that, and the floor panel above the frame
Snap same thoughts.... although you cant see it rust so no problem right?
Yes, I also hope that he will drill holes and paint on the inside of the frame and all the cavities.

Hey Chris, are you adding any lizard skin or heat/sound insulation on the firewall and/or floor?
