i would call rocketbunny on that shit. 5k for a damn body kit is rediculous as much as i want my 350z to be RB thats why im going generic RB. plus everyone says the quality is pretty much identical.
Not all knock off are better quality though, ive had some and there are definitly some draw backs. The best plus side to fakes are that you can mold, cut and adjust however you need to and not worry as much because the cost is so cheap. Often times the material is also better suited for certain body parts. There may be slight design changes as well. Also you cant say you rocket bunny your car because reps are not real, but if you dont give a shit then more to ya.
Just get one that’s already available in the US, if they start importing them to the US and have them in stock here the demand for those is usually higher because theyre usually better 🤷♂️
I admit the generic fenders look much better. Even if I'm not the biggest fan of the wide body look in general, those look pretty good. Not my build etc, I'm more impressed that a BMW engine is in this thing.
I don't like the RB kit anyways... I much prefer some ZG flares. They would look so much more period correct. Not my car, not my build, you do you. Just my $0.02.
No one here is upset bought the RB being dished. No one here like the RB. Everyone wanted that RB burned. The RB never looked good. So theres no reasion to apologise for it.
@@Pezzbrah the RB kit did not fit correctly he said this some episodes ago. They have fitment issues and they do look like garbage. He used a RB kit on the RX7 and they even look like trash. So I'm basing my opion on usable, fitment, and looks.
Dragon Timothy I like Rocket Bunny, some FRS/BRZ track cars use their kit because the V1 kit isn’t insanely wide and allows for lots of tire width without the need for excessive offset.
@@mazda_miata_ I dont like em they were good in the day but now it's to me not worth the money. To each there own if you like em power to ya but it's not for me.

The gap on the rear was not ok so moving over to the generic, what looks great! Fill up the holes also. But then you say I like the front look of the bunny thingy, never seen a bigger gap in my life looking really hideous. Ditch the bunny kit all at once, it looks horrible :(
Chris, your a FUCKING AWESOME GUY! Not only are you building your dream car from scratch, your build it from the catalog at Harbor Freight! You truly have driven me to get back to my creative niche and build something, ANYTHING! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU CHRIS! Your channel is soooo underrated it's RIDICULOUS! You should have at least a milli subs HANDS DOWN!
This build is so entertainingto watch, from seeing him yank the v10 out of the donor m5, to creating this chassis, it’s truly spectacular. Can’t wait to see the final car!
Always hated the rb kit for the z's. Super stoked you decided to run the universal fender flares. Diy is always my preferred method of widening a car. Every kit is going to require a ton of work to get the right fitment and the abs or urethane flares are way easier to mold imo. Great choice homie!! 🤘🤘🤘
so impressed every time i see a new video on this. this project was super ambitious to say the least, but here you guys are with a running car and a decent looking body. wish you guys the best of luck having it in show ready condition in time for sema
Great work Chris! Coming along nicely, not to be picky I believe you are adjusting the camber not the tow. When both front , or back wheels are not straight and point in towards each other they tow in and causes the outer part of the tyres to scrub on the road , when they face out , tow out , you will wear out the inner part of the tyre.
Jon Gardar Jorundsson agree 100%. I also think when the car is lowered down in height after they mounted the Z Shell in position it’s tilting the body forward a touch which is making it stand out more. I bet when the car is lifted to max height where they mounted the body it looks centred
@@captainzoll3303 he built the chassis, leave the center of the frame in the same location and raise the rear. He did make a jig to locate the front and rear suspension but did nothing to locate them height wise from each other. He should have figured out his ride height and then mounted the subframe with correct geometry at that height.
I think the generic over fenders look great. If you want to give it a go. Try to cut that rear end section of the flare where the body line connects with chrome bumper piece. It'll give it some character. But, kudos to you, Eric, Oscar, and everyone else clutching through this build!
I think the car looked better without any fender flares, the vehicle lowered with its metal OEM fender looks more elegant, with fender flares it looks like a 20yr old guy who quickly souped up his car.
Good call on the flares. The gap misalignment would have been frustrating for you, knowing that there was an alternative. Cant wait to see a dynamic display!
Please cut the fender in the rear better to curve around the wheel without a pointy end at the far rear. Just looks halfassed. I twisted a 3/4" ratchet extension like that once... Also twisted the head of the ratchet... Still worked for a while, broke one day when I was fighting exhaust bolts with it. I only kept it because it still worked, and I couldn't remove the extension.
Something that you could do is cut the RB flares in half and space the back half section to your liking and then fiberglass the two pieces back together. From experience I’ve learned that technique. Hopefully your able to see this comment and make you change your mind on using the RB rear.
I started to like the RB rear flares if they would fit properly. The style with them going into the door was cool but that stupid gap really kills it so no hard feelings. It works like this, you like it so nothing wrong here.
All the dampers are adjustable Chris, so you can level the car when off air to a level that is good and keeps the diff off the floor. Also I much prefer the universal flares, the RB kit was utter garbage for the money 💵.
You should probably add some bump stops to the rear subframe so that the rear diff is not the lowest point of the subframe. That way when you do lower the car it sits on those stops and makes the car sit level as well as protecting the diff. God forbid and accident ever happened like rear strut bags blowing or lines popping off something silly and all of a sudden the rear end slams to the ground while you're moving if that diff touches the ground it's going to grind up and possibly explode better to have the car land on bump stops that are attached to the subframe then to land on the differential itself. Super simple fix as well adding bump stops
Glad you ditched the Rocket bunny rear arches. Definitely the best thing to do as they just never looked right!!! Getting exciting now as the big light at the end of the tunnel is forever drawing nearer.
Please do a final action video of the car. I've been watching since the mustang religiously and I think a good video with rolling shots and well edited would be a great thing for this car once it's finished
You should make front and rear brake ducts behind the wheel. Like have it scooped in, with some metal or fibreglass behind to control airflow out. It would look great and be functional

Build a skid plate for the rear diff and use bump stops so when you lower it all the way it sits on the bump stops and not the diff
