It would be cool if you add a little clock somewhere in the screen or the time just small. So we can imagine better how far you got in what time. Bc i think it’s pretty hard to have a feeling for that because of the time lapses. I hope you get what I mean😬. Keep it up. I love your vids. Here since the FJ “color change”
I kept my thoughts quiet when you started this build, but like a lot of others I thought you were in over your head. I'm glad to say I think I was wrong to judge so early, this car is beginning to really take shape and look amazing. Even if it's not "done" by Sema, I take my hat off to you and your mates for the amount of work you've put in. Late nights, editing the footage in the morning, working all day. Mammoth effort and it needs to be applauded!
why didn't you shave the fuel door. since you're using a fuel cell that sits higher than the fuel door it would only make since to have that quarter panel nice and smooth too. just my thoughts.
I'm 82 binge watched episodes deep and loving every one. I must commend those breeze blocks, they have been absolutely pivotal throughout the entire build!
So excites for it to be done, please do a reveal in your garage, like a private subscriber reveal. I believe this vehicle deserves its own reveal in the very garage it was built in. We want to be there with you in the garage first start up when 100% complete!
If you want better results on your sanding get a lesson on how to use a DA by a professional body guy, would take 30 seconds for them to say stop using the edge to gouge your panel. Also put the DA down and grab some blocks when you sand primer. Doing a great job as a project manager maybe enlist a body guy also
It was painful to watch the angle he was holding the DA, you could visually see the hard feather marks in the layers of paint, wavy as fuck. Using a DA to sand down filler was a big no no too. It did turn out much better than I thought it would... on camera... from a distance. I'd say it will be a lot more apparent when the primer and filler sinks over time, but fair play to him working to a tight deadline.
Yeah he could do with having a painter there for a few pointers. I've tried shouting at the monitor but its not working lol. Enjoying watching the project as a whole though.
Go to any body shop and offer to pay a prepper to come and show you the ropes. It's not really the body guy he needs to talk to. You could get a decent prepper to help you out for $50 and an offer to have a beer with him when he's done.
Glad to see this build coming along! I was worried at the beginning but it's really taking shape now. Glad you enlisted a few helpers. I won't get on the band-wagon and start hating on the look of the diffuser but I would like to point out that it's not going to be functional as it is. The roof of the tunnels need to be curved upwards. It's purpose is to allow the air to slow down and increase in pressure as it reaches the back of the car, reducing drag. Looking forward to seeing the car finished.
Super nice build, only thing that bothers me is the rear splitter because its so square compared to the body of the car. I would make the corners much more round
@@SaturdayWinter I think he will, he said he likes how the black makes the wrap pop so it would be weird to have that and the front splitter be the only metal looking parts.
Love this show, it reminds me of my shop that I had for about 5 years, you know you got the body right when you hate to paint over the primer because of the shine that is on it. Just remember one thing that I didn't do, I didn't wear my safety equipment when spraying lacquer, I always had an excuse, like it is two hot to wear a respirator, all safety glasses do is blur your vision, I don't need no spray paint clothes to cover my body its to warm. Well in the fifth year the doctor told me you have two options either die doing what you are doing or quit, and do something else. So wear your safety equipment and you will be able to have a good life. If you think it is to warm buy an air conditioner, lots cheaper then medical bills for breathing. and PEACE!!!
Glad to see it coming together. I've been a skeptic but I have to admit you're doing a good job on this one. Not a fan of the aero but that's one of those "to each their own" things. Nice job man
it would be a nice touch to edit a video of all the time-lapses that you have put in to the videos and let it run in the background with the car at SEMA.
been watching since befor you had the tube frame' I didnt think it would be this good! really motivates me to learn how to fabricate my own things 👌🏼 cant wait to see the reveal video
I thought you were out of your mind when you started this project! Today, for the first time, I thought "He may actually pull this off!". Hat's off to ya!
yeah if by killed it you mean cut with a blade on the paint/body yes, he killed the car and body work. any reputable shop would use knifeless tape for this type of application (on fenders and roof) and you know he is not experienced when he overlapped the vinyl against the wind/movement of car
Chad C. Look fine yes, but it's what beneath it hurts, if it's timing of thr installers we are talking about it only adds about 5-10min of taping, but in the end much easier to get the cuts so actuslly offsets them time put into it.. :)
I dunno. We're looking at it through a camera, and I'm sure there was a LOT that went on that we didn't get to see. I'm sure it looks just fine since this is Chris' build and it's going to SEMA. I can't imagine he'd settle for less, especially on this build.
SpecialK any experienced installer can score the vinyl and break it away without scratching the car. This car isn’t painted, so there’s no risk of cutting a non existent paint job. The only damage you could possibly cause is if you cut it down to the bare metal it could rust. We cut vinyl on balloons to practice scoring and breaking the film and developing knife skills. Knifeless tape is great, and the best option most the time, but not an end all. As for the roof being layed before the quarters, and the wind direction, you’re right, but the rest of the car wasn’t built yet so sometimes timelines affect what is preferable, the top edge edge was sealed so it should hold up fine.
Loving this project bud... still remember the chassi frame metal put together resting on blocks and thinking I hope it goes well ... now after so much work put into it we can see what you have visualised months ago ... well done 👍
My buddy use to own a Laguna Seca blue BMW M3 many moons ago. This color reminds me of that, but I believed you called it another color? Looks awesome by the way! Great job, guys!
That wrap color bright af, would of been nice and simple with a matte gunmetal or something similar all in all good work Chris!! It's coming together very nicely man, can't wait till it's ready for sema
You should get the rear adjustable dog bone links as well, will help adjust camber as well as toe. Also if you can get adjustable bottom links you can then change the track to get the stance dialed in.
Car looks great this is definitely my favorite build single I subscribed during the BRZ quarter panel removal, this is a wild build that you and your friends should be very proud of
I don't know if i missed it, but did you forget to cut the front-right fender for the wide-body? @ 7:01 it's definitely still got the factory arch. might want to do that before you re-wrap it.
I’ve been here since he painted the brz outside in his garden and it’s the same every project...salty jealous know-it-all ppl in the first few weeks saying it will never happen and he’s doing it wrong...then when a sick tuned mustang, rebuilt evora or pimped Aston rolls out of the shop everybody has positive comments. HAVE FAITH FROM THE START PPL! Great work Chris and gang, as ever!

Great build. Did you consider the ACCUAIR ENDO-CVT? With the compressor and valves in the tank you could have saved some room not to mention muffling the compressor noise since it is inside the tank.
I actually love the blue as it looks on my monitor. I took the time to get all the settings as perfect as they can be though so I don't know if it looks the same to everyone else.
Been here since it was just 2 long tubes on the floor. Keep it up Chris!
Ive been here since the day he bought the first body
I got here yesterday... not really I've been here since the Evora xD
I've been here long before he f□cked the G35 in that tunnel. True fans remember.
anyone else been here since he 2jz swapped the BRZ?
I've only been here since his wheels were stolen
I guess you're starting to "wrap it up" with this project.... Ok I'll SEMA-self out

i think it is a clean hommage to what it used to be
For a charging point when he goes ev🤔🤔
He warped those quarter panels filling holes. Imagine what would happen if he welded

True but sanding and finishing is not the body man. You want to know about sanding and using a DA and such you ask the prepper not the body man.

I think he's going for the GT racecar rear diffuser look. It'll look nicer once its painted in black.
I really love how you show every part of the build.
Been here since this was just a 240z cabin outside and a wrecked BMW in the garage and man this build has come a long way 💪🏼💪🏼
