In his defence it was 530 in the morning which Rachel not only show any remorse but still continue to make him read it at that time. It's pretty clear she said he can come back up to her room once he's done meaning she still expect him to read it at that time
this reminds me of the whole ‘who came onto who’ debate where ross wanted to spare rachel the embarrassment, but when she wanted to really hurt him he was like okay you can embarrass yourself. you can always take the high road but rachel deserved to be taken down a peg like that and ross’ pettiness is hilarious.
Well, rachel is quite annoying so i can't blame him, and he tried to warn her but she kept pushing, it's like the scene with the video tape that he wanted to destroy the tape to avoid making her embarrassed and yet again she pushed him.

She was well shot of him, their relationship was toxic!
It's really all Rachel's fault. She acted all high and mighty in front of Ross when Ross was about to tell her that the call was for Monica. Then he feels like she's bragging and being a jerk so he tells her that it indeed was for her. If she hadn't acted that way she would have been informed that it was for Monica from the start.
Rachel deserved everything she got here. She could've stopped at any point, but instead made the decision to dig herself a deeper hole every single time she could've left things alone.
