I am kinda on the fence on whether the buffs sound too OP for a starter character and make some agents more obselete, and gets rid of any possible Wall + Molly site take combos (although to be fair there aren’t many.) HOWEVER my favourite point in this video is when you said “Give Phoenix two walls, two mollies, he’s still Phoenix.” This is a really good way of looking at things that I never considered before and it actually makes me more lenient towards a possible rework.
To be fair I actually hadn't considered that, on how making someone like Phoenix too good may encourage players to not play anyone else, and I think that was just because people are naturally going to want more options as time goes on. I think for me it's just the fact that Phoenix isn't really ever the best option, except until recently when they started working on improving him. I think the part about comparing him to Reyna really shows what a character that needs a buff looks like, while Phoenix more so needs more then the buff you could give Reyna. I'll take being able to convince you somewhat on the idea of a rework haha
Listen mexx I love you and your ideas are crazy good but I gotta be honest no matter how much you try a game like this constantly will be unbalanced and unfair not to mention the gunplay that I will never understand. There will always be a shitty character and the devs trying to fix him will just create more chaos
And ohhh don’t get me started on the idea of balancing for esports which is when devs try to balance a character just so it can be used more in esports but not in normal game
Haha I agree, there are always going to be balances that will need to be made, but we have two instances where an agent was redeemed now, the first being Viper and the second being Yoru, both of which have seen more use in team comps. It's definitely a hassle on what audience to appeal to, but I think in comparison to other games, appealing to the competitive side of Valorant makes the most sense considering how competitive Valorant is in nature.
@@Mexxhr true but i think there is one big problem with games that are comp focused. im a casual player and i dont tend to play comp that often for many reason including the gunplay which is why i dont play valorant as much as other games but i do pay it alot. it seems that even the casual side of valorant is comp focused not in a way that makes me hate the game but it does turn the game into a try hard and sweat playground (and im talking about like in unranked and spike rush) which makes every game of spike rush a pain to play or just toxic. another thing that comp focused games have is when devs reworks or fix a character its because of the pro league not the casual side which makes it so that it fits the pro playes way of playing the game but it just hurts the casual side so that they have to play their way (this was a problem in overwatch for sometime and now some characters are a shadow of what they used to be like hanzo or genji) although there isnt any fix for this issue its just a thing that people have to adapt to if they want to play the game but i do think there should be at least some room for consideration. btw im ok with the devs fixing a character that dominates the playing field like jetts dash or chamber
