- Can Valorant Impress a New Player in 1 Day? In a competitive gaming landscape full of Competitive Online Games, FPSs have a long history of success. Similar games like CS2 (CSGO?) sport massive tournaments and active player bases. But can Riot Games' take on the genre, Valorant, hook a player who has never played the game before? Today we will be delving into our first impressions with Valorant Gameplay to review its systems, Agents, and Tutorial to answer the question: Is Valorant actually any good? Or does its reputation do all the heavy lifting?

The tutorial has gotten so much better since i started playing
Fr
same it was pretty bland before and didn't explain really what the game was about!
real
ikr
true, started playing about two years ago and for the first month or so I was strictly using the ares, the new kids dosent know how lucky they are
It also took a while for me to discover shields
"My headphones died"

LMFAOOO I didn't even realize
My comp team mates
Fr they forgot lmao 😂
checking corners is a good habit dont let that go
Agreed, paranoia can really help you out in this game
Fr, it can save him for plenty of rats.
I still remember my first round. Got yelled at by "GothMommy" , then added and invited to a FULL custom game right after where we just had fun. Honestly i was lucky, most others just get sweats in their first round
Getting yelled at by GothMommy sounds like a dream

Actually a good habit to not ADS. ADS is only good in only a few situations. For the Vandal and Phantom, the two most used guns in the game, ADS 95% of the time is actually harmful as it reduces firerate. Guardian & Bulldog ADS is fine for long ranges, but short and medium range is usually not reccomended
As a general rule of thumb, a new player should learn to not ADS, then learn the exceptions
Yes I was searching for a comment like this but its fair for him to assume that he has to ADS because that's how most FPS shooter games work
@@Phaswon It took SO LONG for someone to tell me to not ADS when starting Valorant. It was just something that was a habit from every shooter ever
@@aaronl19 Me too, good thing I was in a vc with a friend who recommended the game to me and he gave me many tips like that when he watched me play
bulldog ads is great at mid range too though
ads is good in most situations if you dont spray, u just make the head hitbox larger
this has to be one of the best times to play valorant, all the problems you had with the tutorial were incredibly minor compared to what we used to have when valorants tutorial was just shooting bots.
8:28 If you go to the official Valorant website each character has visual demos there. Not sure why they aren't in game but you can see them on the website.
Nah the training range is supposed to do that
+ videos for that will add to much lag
Have you seen how long it takes the gun skin videos to load? And those are just the FOR MONEY items lol
bruh just use the range its there right there like right there void
Can I just say how much I love watching new players play Valorant? I love this video and I want to see more
its so fun to watch new players!!
his track record shows that he won't play it again on video

Some tips for new players:
1. Don't ADS all the time.
2. Speaking of aiming, aim for the head if you can.
3. Use shift, but know when to run.
4. Check your corners. Do your best to not curve when turning. Rather treat corners like an angled shape.
5. Become an expert of 1 or 2 agents, and have back up agents/roles. But you'll need to have some working knowledge of the other agents so you can predict how they're played.
6. Don't buy the AFK schtick.
7. Get some crosshairs!
8. use phantom until next episode
8:40 you can visuaalise in the range . the range gives u the option to try out differant agents
why do i have to play some random gamemode ,that the game itself does NOT tell me about, to figure out what certain abilities do??? they've done visual demos in League why not do it in Val? incase you ask, no its not MY problem, its GAME problem
@@Simon_2501 u just lazy asf
@@Simon_2501 ok
@@Simon_2501well you get previews for skins because they earn money from that
They sure got no time to add it for agents lol
Why spend time on things that doesn't profit them much
@@Simon_2501this isn't anything new? Look at apex. Look at marvel rivals. A lot of games have a practice range. Which isn't a game mode. It's a training ground. It's meant for you to learn. A game with multiple agents and abilities can get complex. If you don't want to take time to learn how your guns shoot and what agents do. That's on you. Not the game.
I've never seen this intro tutorial this is actually so cool
So you haven't played the game?
@@ilikecreeper331 its a new feature

Pretty solid series bro. Keep up the great work
7:45 - "not the only one that has no idea what's happening" it was the level 286 Jett... xD
Love this video dude, as someone that has played valorant for around 2 years it's super interesting watching the newer player experience. Your commentary is super entertaining and funny too lol, hopefully you will do a part 2!
This is a really difficult game to get into without a friend to help you and goof off a bit while you learn to help take off any edge. Kudos for trying it out alone!!
Really glad this channel exists! Anytime I wonder if Id enjoy a game you show me I clearly wouldn't!😂 Keep up the good work!
first time i’ve seen the tutorial since april 2020 and i must say it actually teaches you the basics of gunplay and the rules to a match which is infinitely more than what the old tutorial had lmao
"Light on cosmetics" is hilarious. If only you knew that's the only content we've gotten in 2 years. The agents passed jan 2022 are copy paste, and the maps are basically 3d scribbles.
Wow the pacing, flow, and commentary are really nice and entertaining
Great video! You brought up some good points and I do hope Riot takes some of them into consideration. I think I disagree with the communities sentiment on "You have the Range, find out how the abilities work there" narrative, because while it is a good option to explore each agent, some abilities will not behave properly on bots. I agree that a visual demonstration in game would be very beneficial.
I also have been extremely worried that the game is putting out too many agents in the game. I think your confusion on the MANY abilities is certainly a huge reason. There is just too much going on and keeping up with it becomes a full time job for most higher level players.
Also, I noticed your comments on ADS, Valorant and CS have a different approach to the ADS mechanic compared to most other games, including the recent Fortnight Ballistic and other recent Tac FPS clones. There really is no real reason to use ADS in 90% of situations, it decreases fire rate in most guns and while giving a tighter spread and shrinking the first shot inaccuracy doesn't do anything that would help you win most Med-Long (25m-50m) duels. I'd stick to hip-firing and learning when to tap (Fire 1 shot), Burst (Fire around 3-5 bullets as they are the most accurate) or Spray (shooting the entire mag at the target).
Overall, I'm just glad you had a great time! Our community can be pretty toxic, but you seemed to handle it well! If you do continue on learning how to play this game, I'd recommend grabbing some friends and just play it casually for a while. I started around 4 years ago and I've enjoyed learning little things here and there to add to how I play!
Also, if you do eventually end up doing a CS video, I'd recommend giving the hip-firing tech a whirl, because CS2 has no sort of Scoping gun outside of the really expensive AR or Snipers. Which can really hurt your economy especially on the CT side! Once again, great video!
The old tutorial had a practice area when you are playing Sova instead of phoenix. it gives you the idea of how the game works base on only brimstone's voice guides you how to play. This one is more different compared to the old one, after practicing with other guns and going through the tutorial, your basically heading towards hell with full of toxic players who don't know how to aim and crack level demons on the other team. That's based on my experience since Champions 2022. but this game for some reason is still fun once in a while.
Edit: it is hard to impress to someone who have no experienced of how to play the game. It just comes to people's inspiration of why they play this game what value do you have in this game.
Bro i love ur videos keep it up man!
funny af
Im not sure if they changed it but your able to go into the range in order to play different agents and test out their abilities.
Ok enabling safe boot should not take 20 minutes unless you ran in to other problems 😭
thats including research
I had the same issue, whenever I went into the bios it said safe boot was already enabled, so I was just continuously in a back and forth trying to figure out wtf was wrong. I don’t even remember what the solution was, it just fixed itself at some point
NEED a part 2 where u go into ranked and try to rank up also pls fix the crosshair its so distracting 😭
I need more valorant content >:)))
This type of video is actually pretty unique. Tbh, I’m not sure if this kind of content has been done before, but this is my first time seeing something like this, and I really enjoyed it. It’s refreshing to see a game being reviewed as if it’s introducing itself to a new player who knows nothing about it, even though it’s been out for a while.
I’d love to see more videos like this for other games too!
0:18 that's a windows 11 specific error 😢
You can try every agent at the training area. It is in the menu called the range next to the tutorial
ur surprisingly good for a first time fps player! keep going :D
08:45 couldn't have been further from the truth 😔✋
some tips/explanations that might help out new players:
1. hipfire is the main way to use these guns, with a few exceptions
2. there is no spray pattern to memorize in valorant, unlike csgo. they want you to single-triple burst shots, especially on vandal
3. theres is little to no mmr/sbmm in swiftplay and team deathmatch, so you may play against people of much higher skill than you in these modes
8:15 It is a little tedious, but you could go into the sandbox training mode and check out all agents (even ones you don't own yet)
i really enjoy this series keep it up man don't give up!
You should do this kind of video but for THE FINALS! It is a very fun fast paced game
If u wanted to check out on agent ability’s you can head to the practice range and check them out there you can also hold F1 to read their abilities in game
when i was a new player, exactly the smooth executed abilities lured me in. OP definitely didnt use Jett dash for sure
if ur ever gonna play again u can go in the range which is on the left of the start button to choose agents and try their abilities
It's interesting to someone like me, who wants to win and improve so fast amd is so focused on what I'm doing that I forget that even the simplest tasks in a game can seem confusing to people who never grew up with games in the first place.
Really surprised this video has so few views. Really well put together video and great concept. Well done
4:30 you're supposed to hip fire guns, even at longer distances
Yeah lmao I love how he said that like it's a bad habbit
checking corners is a good habitt tho, but always remember you have abilities to also check them for you. The more you play, the more you will understand valorant and the more you understand it in a depth level, the more it gets complicated lmao (well atleast for me and my friends) but keep trying it, its smhw addicting 😭
Liking the guardian as a beginner shooter player is a universal experience
8:35 go into the practice range, you can literally use all the different abilities
light on cosmetics is absolutely fucking insane when talking about valorant, espically with the new exo bundle
If you ever want to learn a character you can use them in the practice range and use their abilities to see what they do
Your story telling is really good.
12:45 btw you can turn off the lvl tag, so thats why you couldnt see her lvl
6:51 your so real for that line
Look up a guide for changing settings and what they all do. They help a lot. ESPECIALLY change your crosshair.
13:15 it isnt only based on k/d/a theres a thing like battle score and its more things spike defuses/plants first bloods and economy
in game, it's not based on battle score, it's just based on how many kills you get and then alphabetical. it doesn't sort it by combat score until the game ends.
@@IJO221 ah yes sorry
Tutorial is like 999999% longer than 4 years ago
im really surprised at how good the tutorial is, especially compared to league. I don't even remember the game having a tutorial in beta.
you're actually pretty decent for someone who's playing the game for the first time im impressed :0
Change crosshair for sure, and just find a setting guide in general to have a lot better performance. If you continue playing, I personally suggest breach, because when other players get hit by his util (very cool util by the way) they have no clue what to do
You did very well for your first time!
Bro liked the domain expansion. Respect
As someone who has hated on the game (mostly because of the e daters) i started valorant last month because of my friend but so far im enjoying the game
So the reason that the shield only absorbs 66% of damage, is because of the fact that when you get healed by a say sage heal, it only heals health not armor. This way if you got hit by one vandal shot, you could heal up to around 135(?). If shield absorbed all of the damage, you would not be able to heal until the second vandal shot, in which case you could only heal around 30 hp. It is made so that healing has much more of an impact in the round. If you read the description of the regen shield though, it doesnt do the same thing as light and heavy, and instead takes 100% of the damage. This is because it heals it back, and if they didnt have this, you could theoretically die while still having shield on, which would be a bit infuriating. Also, 8:40 you can go into the practice range, which is basically the first tutorial thingy, and there you can test out all of the agents, even if you havent unlocked them yet.
You can try any agent in the range to get a visual.
13:12 Yeah the score board is just based on kills. Not deaths, nor assists. So there are cases where it shows that a certain player is highest in the scoreboard because he/she has the highest kills, but since he/she does not have the highest average combat score (ACS) they are not the MVP.
An example is when I played, I looked at the scoreboard and I was the highest, but when the results showed, I wasn't the MVP because I didn't have the highest ACS, because there are also other factors such as econ rating (usage of money), assists, deaths, & etc.
8:40 you can use all the agents in the range checking them out for yourself
8:42 it isnt showed but its possible u have to go to training camp next to big red button and then u with i think f2 can change to any character so u can even learn them
That only works when you go into the range outside of the tutorial. The tutorial and the range are separate things, although part of the tutorial takes place in the same location as the range.
okay so what happened at 7:00 is basically valorant at its greatness
I just learned how to play and it was pretty fun. I got hooked and I’ve been playing everyday for two months
I’m not kidding you hade the EXACT same process as I did to even play valorant
shocked when i only saw 2K subs, good series, keep doing it and you WILL get big, I promise
You can press practice in the lobby. Then press the range, and now you can test every agent in the game. Also practice your aim/skills
sova is my google background XD
You can check out all the agents and their abilities in the practice range.
2:08 plont the spike
I wish I had these tutorials when I started
No way a different shirt 😱
i remember my very first game was at beta, everyone was quite, i didn't like it that much at first, but when i came back to it a year later there was some kind of community and communication, i prolly got yelled at lmao.
Been a minute since i played but light armor has a weird quirk to it. It takes the same amount of body shots to kill as heavy armor against the Vandal. And you die against one headshot regardless of armor. Not a bad way of saving a bit if you know enemies using rifles. But against rest if the guns yeah heavy armor is good to have to be on safe side
W plant vrs zombie background music. And video
Lmao that was funny to watch, reminds me of myself when I first started playing the game, with no experience in shooters whatsoever.
But that was in like Episode 3, can’t imagine starting playing now with the sh*t ton of agents that Riot keeps bumping.
24 views in 33 mins? My guys popping off
You don’t know this but almost every agent have sick abillities but a lot of time it’s hard to use them correctly
4:28 hip fireing is nearly always better than aiming down sights so the game actually non verbally pushed you toward a more optimal playstyle, neat !
9:20 this is so fun, guns in valorant lore have a manufacturer that is shown with a seal on each weapon and some skins have different makers, and the ares is actually very muck on brand since it's the same manufacturer as the vandal :3
8:30 you can go into the training grounds and pick any agent you want. practice every single ability altho some are limited. for example : an ability that can only be used on a teammate (skye heal)
>loads into the game
>game shuts down
>"turn on secure boot mwa"
>touches the PC
I never expected 0:18 to help me as i just had that problem
this is really underrated!
try playing Yoru, His abilities are the exact opposite of "don't stand here" , "you can't see this specific place", test him out, he literally has a domain expansion as an ult and TP's around like Gojo
Iso Ult?
for the love of God please don't try yoru when ur beginning the game
(bc he needs too much game comprehension when ur starting)
@@leo-gp4vx yeah, i suggest like neon and gekko first beforehand
Are you trying to ruin his vibe or smth? Here's why YOU SHOULDN'T
1. His kit is really horrible for new users.. more of His utilities will be shown in the next points
2. His flashes are useless if you don't correctly position yourself.. and positioning is the most important part of learning val. Unless you count how to shoot straight as another
3. Unless you are dedicated.. It takes time to learn an agent like Yoru.
4. The difference between plat and silver lobbies is already high (Eg- im plat and i dont do good in other lobbies) and other lobbies have specific agents that are good for their rank..I would suggest an easy kit agent like Gekko or even Reyna.
5. There is way better agents than Yoru.. and I don't suggest adding another duelist main to the team.
tips: Levels DONT matter. I know a 136 who is just playing the game for fun, so they aren't great at it. they still enjoy it though.
The range can be used to test agents, even if you don't have them. It is the [Practice] Mode on the bottom when you press play.
had to go through the whole safe mode thing it was mad cooked
As someone who’ played val for around 5 months by now, and knows the idea of how to do things (even if my execution is sometimes… questionable.) it pains me to see people ignoring the obvious facts, but that’s just new players learning I guess. I do also like helping people learn, so if that’s there.
is this new in the tutorial? I never remember doing this. (joined in E5A2)
Yeah it is
How did you fix it I also have the same problem
you can test out agents in the practice range
I agree on people being wack BUT HELL NO.. NOT THE ABILITIES THEYRE AMAZING YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN WHAT GEKKO,CYPHER,CHAMBER HECK EVEN OMEN
you can test caracter in the praticte mode that is left of the start
Hi, 2.5 year val player who made it to diamond, here's some thoughts:
A big misconception is that you're supposed to use ADS in valorant. You're not except a few guns (stinger, bulldog, guardian in some situations, and snipers) The rifles are extremely accurate at long range. There's a lot of reasons you don't use ADS, but the main ones is that it slows down your fire rate (yes, I know that's not how guns work irl) and you move slower.
The mechanics of games like this are very difficult, not because the game itself is inherintly hard, but that it's different from every other game. Halo, The Finals, Overwatch, etc. all let you run and gun and if you don't you die. Val is the opposite.
It's a good idea to watch a basic guide for a character before playing them so you have a better idea of what to do and don't look like an idiot.
if you want to "git gud," watch some aim training vids and follow them and practice. Once you get around gold rank start watching woohoojin for more character specific things.
During your first game you were better than my level 300 teammates
The secure boot thing made me give up on playing the game for like a whole year because nothing worked 💀
i love how he sais its light on cosmetic since most gun skins cost 20 and knife skins 40 bucks but it is good that there are no charecter skins in val a tac shooter unlike r6
i love this channel but i feal like it didint really incumpase the valorant experience in 1 day since he only really played 40 minutes
but he can to whatever he want tbh
don't worry, the clip at 6:55 is basically *THE* valorant experience, its what makes or breaks the game for different people
"the abilites are kinda wack" "uses only 4 abilites out of the 97
8:45 Yeahh.. look at the prices of skins 😭
