I mean, wtf happened to the design team in the last years? Just like the Hiigaran cereal-box Carrier ended up becoming the Raider carrier, was this Titan originally designed to be a Hiigaran behemoth? These cutscenes are terrible, like they've been ripped from a destiny 2 expansion. What happened to the simple artwork style they had, they could've used DoK style and it would've been perfect, what a shame.

So the queen wanted to create a race of navigators? To do what? Boss them around? She already has legions of loyalits from the look of it. She's already all powerful too, so gaining power can't be the goal either.
This review starts with the Admiral L. Soban line: ua-cam.com/video/6LKWAZsGx-U/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared&t=686 I was really hoping that Karan would become Sajuuk-Khar, the chosen one, get bold and mad and become the villain with that kind of galactic power. But nooo, they had to ignore the previous plots. What happened to Sajuuk? What happened to Movers, Keepers and basically every Progenitor drones? Where were the Incarnate in the last millenia when not even the Bentusi knew about them? Why did the Incarnate queen not considered the Bentusi as "Navigators", but the Bentusi considered Karan as they were, unbound? This is not Homeworld 3, this has to be a sad and blind spin-off made for children.
Not to mention every hook of this very story that were miserably ignored or underused: the weaponized hyperspace, ships jumping without cores, hyperspacing a stellar body just to smash it onto another one, hyperspacing inside solid objects (why the surprise when DoK did this before?). WHY THE FUN use the "Anomaly" theme AGAIN!? This is basically DoK in space - with terrain again, but without wheels to proper pathing. I'm mad, I'm sad and now I'm going to sleep with that lullaby.
So, girlboss designed her own hyperspace tech, to "free us from unreliant progenitor technology". There goes bentusi sacrifice. There goes war with makaan. There go struggles on kharak. And its like literally second minute of intro. That is just sad.
@@putty-e2872 I am pretty when we see Karen for the first time in the first game it is pretty clear they are humans. What I figured is there were a faily mono-raced people. The cutscenes filled the DEI quota of everything but one particularly group of people (sex and ethnic).
@@rh906 In my view, the pre-remastered Homeworld had low-quality, robotic-sounding voices and jagged, sketchy drawings of humanoid forms. Especially in Homeworld: Cataclysm, these elements made me mistaken the characters were aliens.

The old game felt epic because of the strangeness and the mythical type journey of the Hiigaran people, forced to return from exile to escape the flames that consumed their already hostile home. That was ageless. I can't remember the story of this one, even now as I've watched the whole thing XD
So somehow, this queen has enough power to destroy Galactic civilization yet they couldn’t flush out a story behind her, and she just disappears because she’s misunderstood and sad?
I wonder if some modders will not remake this game to be more closer to original games. With AI Image generation making new cutscenes in the same style as in HM1&2 would not be a problem. Add to that new campaign and maybe this game could be salvaged.

HW3 is utter crap. so much woke propaganda, Karan sounds like she just woke up, no feeling put into acting, and the new navigator and baddie (i refuse to use grown up names for w/e she's supposed to actually be) sound like marvel phase four actors doing their worst. and the animation has lost all of its magic. there was a reason it was animated pencil work instead of full HD cinematics. holy hells, this is bad! thank you for taking the hit and actually playing through all of it to warn the rest of us.

Something feels off the the scale of things, both the story and the ship sizes, early on the mother ship hits a freighter and takes heavy damage, that freighter was HUGE, or the mothership is just tiny
Did you pay attention? The engineers on the ship told her where to hit to minimize damage, that's why they sheered off the front of the ship instead of hitting it in the middle.
@viperswhip I mean, yes, but also that ship was LARGER THAN THE MOTHERSHIP, my point isn't about where it it or the damage that was done it's "why was a freighter larger than the kar-kushan
@@Consumedfever697 The biggest carrier currently is still dwarfed by the biggest freighter here on Earth. Freighters don't need to be specialized to take a beating, just designed enough to carry as much stuff as it can. Warships are designed to take a beating and keep going.
I don't see how the story is bad. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing was understandable, Character and ship designs were good, motivations for all those involved was good. I honestly think this was a good addition to the franchise
The story of Homeworld 3 was okay but felt limited. It starts with a massive, galaxy-ending anomaly that needs to be stopped, but then it narrows down to a personal story about three people. By the end, it only briefly includes the mothership crew.
Thankyou, I enjoyed the story to and liked the new perspective. Sure it's a little contrived but it felt good (better than homeworld 2's atleast 🤣). Finding Karan's ship in the ice with adagio for strings welling up gave me tears. I think seeing more of the grand scale of things like what happened to the galaxy after the gates shutting down would have been nice.
@@putty-e2872 Thats what really disappoints me. The lack of world-building and the expansion of the Hiigaran people's place in the Galaxy. Where's the sense of journeying into the unknown and encountering weird shit? Speaking of, what happened to Hyperspace inhibitors? They were in HW1 and HW2 and all of a sudden they're forgotten in HW3 and have no way of defending themselves?
As far as I'm concerned, the original story ended with the Cataclysm. H2's story already felt like a fanfic, this is just, something else. Not Homeworld.

Its time for your pain to end Wtf . They treat her like shes some poor misunderstood little victim . She fucking murdered billions but no thats fine because she was lonely. Wtf!?
I mean, after 2 minutes I have been bombarded with political messaging (intersectional and feminist already), as the writer clearly is someone egotistical unable to write a character that is not exactly that. So the character - no comment about how average they purposedly made her, to appeal to a "wider modern audience" that do not exist (many people have shitty tastes and many other who are full of shit exploit that, but there is some objectivity to beauty that inspire awe and this is not it) - need to say stuff like "i am a scientist", "i earned my place" which for anyone who is familiar with the ideological rethoric are key talking points. But we are not being shown that, we are being told and must believe. Well, is that why they made her very average, so no one would suggest she might have used the powa of the booba to get to her position? Anyway... I digress. So we are presented with a menace after slightly less than a minute into the intro cutscene, which "threatens everything she has ever known". It does not threaten what is good in the world, it does not threaten the peace of the universe or all living things, no, no. It is all about her and what she values, right? Who wrote that shit and what follows? We get a bit of techno babble which is fair enough in the setting, but when she talks about the merging with the ship and asks "will I still be me after the procedure?... I don't know". What kind of fucking scientist are you? And how the hell was that machine-living being interface even created if you don't know what it does to the subject? Sure, it was built and no one knows what it does, but it just works. Right, Right. And don't get me started with the patriarchal technology --- er... sorry progenitor technology that you wanted to move away from... Ok, I could go on and in more details, but this is an already too long youtube comment. I'll finish by saying that after looking a bit of gameplay (which seems to have quite a few more of the childish, shallow and mediocre writing in many more cutscenes that keeps interrupting the game) I wanted to say that instead of telling us from the horse's mouth (she looks a bit like one, don't she?) that she earned her place as the best navigator that was supposed to train all navigators to a new era... I wanted to say "show, don't tell". Well, I then saw that her first navigational decision of importance was to crash herself/her ship into another one, when this ship is literally a weapon factory and that was absolutely unecessary as more reasonable alternatives should have been considered. Yeah... that was stupid, but since writers can never write characters or stories that are more clever than themselves, we get that shit (when used in ST movies, there was some kind of setup for it and ramming was a desperate move, when everything else failed, and in SW when this was used, it was in a shit movie). What is sad, is that people with the same level of intelligence (which are probably 50% of the potential audience, will fall for the gorgeous graphics, and think this is a masterpiece of story telling... because, sadly, to have an average, we also need people that are below said average). Just for that, and considering that of the about 12 hours of gameplay on Hard (so I read from a lot from player reviews, so it must be quite accurate) there is about 20% of that spent watching this mediocre, uninspiring feminist wet-dream of a heroine and well, that led me to unwishlist it. Thanks for uploading the full movie, sadly, I can't bring myself to watch more of it (I already spent too much time writing about it here and I am not a writer at all lol) and realise that it would likely be just more of the same than the 2 first minutes I watched and already had nausea from.
This is SO GOOD! Really fantastic. The story is beatiful and with wild imagination. Many of the storylines are truly the result of great imagination. They avoid clichés while cleverly integrating some classic plots or paying homage to previous Homeworld with new content and forms. For example, the scenes where the mothership collides with other ships after emerging from the warp gate, or enters an asteroid field after jumping out of the Hyperspace Gate, are clear tributes to the previous Homeworld. The part where they navigate through narrow tunnels in search of Karan is simply a masterpiece. The final act of making the enemy mothership completely disappear through Hyperspace Jumping, and the dialogue between the core's owner in the spiritual world during the jumping, are all brilliantly designed. The story line is too good for some people to appreciate, too many no brainer haters.
I'm so confused by this game. So the Taiidan didn't deal with her despite hyperspacing at will. The Vagyr didn't deal with her. @@Juwce_86 apparently they changed senior writer/director of story halfway and that writer scrapped the original story (which is very homeworld) for this.....
@@someone-om4mc The new "realistic" face isn't even realistic. It just looks bizarre. Uncanny Valley shit.
The capital ship knifing through another ship was funny, they defiled the warp cores, Karen has the full faith of her people while Imogen is actively arguing with her own Intel officer, also Karen once again has carried the game’s spotlight lmao she deserves a rest
2:38:16 of cinematics. I cannot fathom the hours it took to create it. But I know for a fact the time should have been spent on the game itself instead.
Someone please be kind to explain to me why in the heavens the Titan design is absurdly familiar to the Hiigaran design in their triangular shapes, even when the Incarnate fleet is obviously using a (literal) mix of the Progenitor and Vaygr designs? I mean, wtf happened to the design team in the last years? Just like the Hiigaran cereal-box Carrier ended up becoming the Raider carrier, was this Titan originally designed to be a Hiigaran behemoth? I am very very very frustrated with the design decisions in this game (not to mention everything else).
The moment when they found the Khar Sajuuk and the music kicks in, that was beautiful.
It breaking out of the ice is the best seen in the game for me.
These cutscenes are terrible, like they've been ripped from a destiny 2 expansion. What happened to the simple artwork style they had, they could've used DoK style and it would've been perfect, what a shame.
Yea was thinking what happened to those good old sketches to OA transitions…guess their numbers in Homeworld mobile make them realise otherwise…
Fucking hell this. The art and stylised cutscenes from the previous games were so fkin good. Sigh.
The moment I saw the cutscenes and how they turned out, my heart sank.
I just starting to watch this, and I'm assuming it's gonna be about Imogen being the most awesome lady in the universe and how she's going to solve everything and she's the bestest navigator and also the bestest engineer that designed the mothership and the hyperspace cores and will beat the bad guys if only the asshole dudes on the ship didn't get in the way of her awesome 🤣
But she needs a strong black man, ahem "Intel", to put her back in place and give her almond-milk latte, cause women are strong, but also fragile creatures who need a strong ethnic-minority male to help them through their writing block
Agree, but dont forget awesome lady but horribly ugly, DEI at it finest... sigh.
She is written to portray confidence... by someone who has absofuckinglutely no idea what confidence is.
bestest everything
@@orkhepaj Well, Karen could also do everything, literally, she was in charge of moving the remnants of her people across the galaxy. So, the only difference between Imogen and /Karen is how they are portrayed. Karen is reserved, which is funny, and Imogen is childish.
So the queen wanted to create a race of navigators? To do what? Boss them around? She already has legions of loyalits from the look of it.
She's already all powerful too, so gaining power can't be the goal either.
She's only there to be defeated by the new hero for a modern audience.
She did it because she was lonely and wanted more friends. 10/10 story

I was really hoping that Karan would become Sajuuk-Khar, the chosen one, get bold and mad and become the villain with that kind of galactic power.
Bought them all and the First one is the Best. Classic for the win !
So, girlboss designed her own hyperspace tech, to "free us from unreliant progenitor technology". There goes bentusi sacrifice. There goes war with makaan. There go struggles on kharak. And its like literally second minute of intro. That is just sad.
Wait a minute how is the TECH have TECH printed on their uniforms…I didn’t realise these hiigaran are using written English?
I even assumed that the Hiigarans were an alien race, not humans.
Sure hope you wouldn’t thinking about smurfs in space…
@@putty-e2872 I am pretty when we see Karen for the first time in the first game it is pretty clear they are humans. What I figured is there were a faily mono-raced people. The cutscenes filled the DEI quota of everything but one particularly group of people (sex and ethnic).
@@rh906 In my view, the pre-remastered Homeworld had low-quality, robotic-sounding voices and jagged, sketchy drawings of humanoid forms. Especially in Homeworld: Cataclysm, these elements made me mistaken the characters were aliens.
This is actually covered in HW1: all the races speak Galactic Common, which is English for some reason.
I'd like to know where they got the idea to use Eurostile though, Monotype is gonna charge them a fortune for that
"Zealots, worse than the Gaalsien."
Tell me you've never played a Homeworld game without directly saying it. Also dude, my Ion frigate fleet were Kiith Gaalsien so way to upset my best frigate operators. WHO WROTE THIS TRIPE?!?!

It was a great run, Karen. I don't even know how old she is in game now.
250ish
Here we go
I saw the CG cutscenes, then i heard the synthetic hyperspace cores, then i switched off the video
Seems like a truly shit story told from the eyes of an emo teenager.
At the least the music is still really good, I prefer the cata and DoK soundtracks but this one is great
Good graphic but story lacking in the end the queen was just lonely? is like she haven't a real purpose music weak didn't felt the kick of the previous homeworlds
The old game felt epic because of the strangeness and the mythical type journey of the Hiigaran people, forced to return from exile to escape the flames that consumed their already hostile home.
That was ageless.
I can't remember the story of this one, even now as I've watched the whole thing XD
Wait, does it have the ending as Halo Wars?
the wow factor was just wow girl yaaas scale up to that b* then rotate in place
The ending was rather underwhelming.

there is one quick way to save this game, delete all dialogue and cutscenes and make new ones :D
So somehow, this queen has enough power to destroy Galactic civilization yet they couldn’t flush out a story behind her, and she just disappears because she’s misunderstood and sad?
If this is the full game in less then 3 hours not worth buying it
It's the cutscenes.
The game is still not worth buying but it's the cutscenes
I wonder if some modders will not remake this game to be more closer to original games.
With AI Image generation making new cutscenes in the same style as in HM1&2 would not be a problem.
Add to that new campaign and maybe this game could be salvaged.
wtf happened to the story? it's beyond shit. nonsensical as all hell. i mean, sure, it's sci-fi but HW1 and 2 made sense.
To think my friend tried to force me to pre order. I knew BBI was bad news when they publicly announced their political views years ago. Thanks for showing us the game
RIP Homeworld 3.
Fron a sprawling soace opera to an ansgty teenage fan fiction. That's how bad it is
They really named the ship "Car Cushion"?
I don't see how the story is bad. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The writing was understandable, Character and ship designs were good, motivations for all those involved was good. I honestly think this was a good addition to the franchise
The story of Homeworld 3 was okay but felt limited. It starts with a massive, galaxy-ending anomaly that needs to be stopped, but then it narrows down to a personal story about three people. By the end, it only briefly includes the mothership crew.
@@putty-e2872 I agree. It wasn't the best story, but it wasn't a bad one
@@SteelExoskeleton The river in Egypt?
Thankyou, I enjoyed the story to and liked the new perspective. Sure it's a little contrived but it felt good (better than homeworld 2's atleast 🤣). Finding Karan's ship in the ice with adagio for strings welling up gave me tears. I think seeing more of the grand scale of things like what happened to the galaxy after the gates shutting down would have been nice.
@@putty-e2872 Thats what really disappoints me. The lack of world-building and the expansion of the Hiigaran people's place in the Galaxy.
They talk about this weird galaxy-ending event, then it feels forgotten at the end of the game.
Where's the mission where you meet other cultures and you try to save them from the hyperspace weapons? Where's the sense of journeying into the unknown and encountering weird shit?
Speaking of, what happened to Hyperspace inhibitors? They were in HW1 and HW2 and all of a sudden they're forgotten in HW3 and have no way of defending themselves?
Wow! Collectors edition arrived today. Playthrough starts tomorrow. The mothership model is bad ass.
As far as I'm concerned, the original story ended with the Cataclysm. H2's story already felt like a fanfic, this is just, something else. Not Homeworld.

Pretty sad that they opted for such a generic brain-dead storyline. Easily could have wrote something highly relevant for 2020s, hint hint advanced AI automated robot or biological/robot fleet. Hell divers did this well with the robot faction. Really could have explored why the AI would want to throw down on humans and flesh out that idea - heck maybe even make it so that you kinda feel bad for the AI?Instead the opted for something totally boring.
1:25 xD!!!!!
There is much I dont understand about the ending, but I am alsno not somebody who knows HW1, Cataclysm or HW2.
Ooooo, memeberries everywhere. But the amount of complaining this woman makes reeks of some Sweet Baby Inc sibling company all over this. Though the level of complaining here is delicious for all the wrong reasons, lol.
I think they were trying to copy the Stasis games. I get that feeling from the mo-capped faces and the weird religious overtone of the Queen. Because it reminds me of Stasis: Bone Totem. It’s not bad, design wise, voices are decent but overall…not so much. I’d give this an overall 5/10. Not bad, but not great?🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Of course comment section rife with pseudo intellectuals that do not understand the game and just go complain about supposed woke and DEI while are not aware that there are people which worked on both 1st and 2nd Homeworld along Studio that made Homeworld 3 is not solely Gearbox as some people in here believe. Its time for your pain to end
Wtf . They treat her like shes some poor misunderstood little victim . She fucking murdered billions but no thats fine because she was lonely. Wtf!?
why does she look like sweet baby inc?
Aw come on, don't give up, the _really_ laughable bits are near the end of this video!
Best comment I read all year.
Post Modern writing everybody. Sigh.
What in tarnation is this parody?.....
Where's the Galactic Council from the first game that the Bentusi kept mentioning and show up last mission in HW1. And not gonna mention the Beast from Cataclysm. It's such a dumb story and seems to retcon so much. F this game
