Thanks for a great, time saving, video. I only had one recommendation, if you ever edit this procedure. I removed the air box completely, and it made a great location to place the overflow reservoir/wiper fluid tank without having to undo ANY tubes or sensor connections. Hence, no wiper fluid loss, or potential broken connectors with those goofy safety latches. The air box is easily removed by loosening the main snorkel tube hose clamp, removing both the snorkel and breather tubes from the box, and then lifting the box out of the engine bay. With that gone, the reservoir(s) can just be rotated up into the empty space. Hope this might help someone downstream from here.

The bolt located behind the power steering pump has to go in with the pump assembly. It won't go in after all the other bolts are in. That same bolt will not come out on its own and has to be left in and removed with the pump.

Great video, only thing you missed was the bleeding procedure. Most Rams has a bleed allen screw port located at the outter end of the upper radiator hose. After filling your radiator, remove screw and start and run the vehicle until fluid runs clear at this port, once all the bubbles are gone reinstall allen screw and you're done.

That was a very informative and extremely well done video. Sure wish I could find one just like it for my 2002 and up Dodge Ram truck with the 5.9 gas engine in it. The 2002 evidently had a mid year change over and mine is the one that is the newer body style crew cab or 4 door, not the clam shell style doors, 1/2 ton 4x4 truck with air conditioning and auto transmission.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for more of your videos when I need to work on my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and any other of my vehicles. I really liked the cardboard screw diagram idea. Glad to hear that it was helpful for you! Yeah, arranging your screws, nuts, or bolts in the same pattern that they will be reinstalled in is always a good idea, but not too many of us think to do it. It's one of those things you pick up along the way I guess. Anyway, thanks for checking out the video and we hope we'll be able to continue to help you out in the future! 1aauto.com 866-403-3393

Very nice video. I like the clutch removal. A big crescent wrench did it! Be sure to check that the fan is in good shape as well as tensioner pulley.
I'm not sure how important this is but when you install your thermostat, there is a little bleeder valve to position upward. Saw that in another video.
It does take a while for tstat to open when starting back up and everything to bleed out and heat start working. I drove a bit and keep opening radiator cap to let air escape.
I did install the $5 gasket between the pump and tstat housing, I don't think it can hurt. I also applied general purpose black adhesive sealant around the water pump. I think it can only help seal things up if you're worried.

At the end of the video you said let it run the bubbles out so I filled the radiator the expansion tank was already full I let it run and topped off but it kept running dry in the radiator do I add more or wait for the expansion tank to even it out

Great video, followed it perfectly, however after reassembly the truck failed to start after it had just been running with a “coolent system performance” code, let it sit for 30 minutes or so and then it ran just fine with no issues

Two questions, how much do you guys sell the water pump for 2004 5.7 hemi, I understand it has a life time warranty, the other question is the torque, you mentioned 18ft/lb but many other sources on the internet states 30ft/lb can you please confirm the torques for 2004 hemi 5.7 thanks

How much coolant is needed to fill it up?

Quick question what type of antifreeze is required dexcool or just your regular 50/50 antifreeze, I have a 2005 Ram 5.7 hemi?

    • @ixionn563
      @ixionn563 4 роки тому +1

Do not use regular green antifreeze in these, they take HOAT coolant 50/50 mix (of course). Best HOAT stuff I've found that I use in mine is Zerex G-05, sold at AutoZone and Amazon.

Great Video but is it possible to remove the radiator fan shroud before removing the fan blade? It looks like it could make removing the fan blade easier. Also, where is the weep hole located on this type of water pump? Thanks

I know it's been 7 months but I had trouble taking the fan clutch off so I took off the bolts that hold the fan and I was able to scoot the fan blade over and pull the shroud off 👍🏻

+Jose Cayama We don't have a how-to video for your vehicle right now, but the basic steps in this video should be enough to do this task. Buy this part for your vehicle on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

My timing chain cover gasket on my 06 Dodge 4.7 is leaking water to the outside. I am going to order the Felpro 46000 gasket. Do I have to use sealant with this gasket. Also do I use any other O rings in addition? Thanks you.

+Lastinline You should not need any sealant with this gasket. Thanks for watching!

Hey, I used this video to swap my water pump, everything went smoothly. The problem I have now is the upper hose is spitting a bit. From the radiator side of it. Should I double clamp it? I have a brand new upper hose on it but it's still like a little sprinkler, loosing maybe 1/16 in the reserve tank a week.
