If you want to know what it's like to live in Phoenix, AZ you are in the right place and the only place to learn the Truth. Everything you need and want to know about Phoenix Arizona and surrounding if you are visiting, living in or moving to Arizona or considering living in Arizona.
I've been living in Arizona since 1999. I've lived in Scottsdale, AZ. I've lived in Phoenix, AZ. I've lived in Avondale, AZ. I've live in Goodyear, AZ. I've also worked in the entire valley. I know the entire Maricopa County very well.
Rent in AZ starting blowing up almost 5 years ago now. I was living in a 750sf one bedroom in Scottsdale back in 2015, paying less than $700/month. My lease was expiring and they wanted me to renew at $900. I decided to look into buying something. Found an 1100sf, 2 bedroom condo. My mortgage is under $600. Yes, my HOA is $200, but still. Got myself a home warranty and never looked back. That same apartment I moved out of is now going for $1100/month. Insanity.
How much taxes does Arizona take from your yearly income? Or how much does Arizona take from your hourly pay ?
Is it still possible to get an fha loan
I think I would rather kill myself than sign onto an HOA but you do you my dude
@@Teggy123 - Arizona income tax is pretty low
What is HOA? If you are single w/o a family should we get this?
They didn’t know the square footage of there apartments. Red flag.
Right
You don't know how to discern between there and their red flag you may have some literary and grammar issues.

Never rent from a sample apt. Always see the actual unit that you will rent. If they are reluctant to show you the actual unit that you will be renting, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. Red Flags 🚩
What could go wrong please share when convenient
I just j look learned this always look before signing the actual lease because real experience, I check the unit before signing Mann was I disappointed flooring was horrible
Roaches in drawers etc just horrible
@@shamarajones9951 😒😒 wow
Definitely learned this the hard way
Just like a hotel never get the first room they show you
most of these places refuse to show you the apartment that you would be renting. mostly they will show you a model apartment with brand new appliances and it looks very neat. once you get your keys your own apartment is horrible.
Erik Santana 😄 exactly what they did to me, but that was in paradise Valley.
That's how it is in Utah too lol , I was shocked with my recent apartment, the one I toured is the one I moved into it was nice to see the actual unit before hand
It’s actually not legal. Let the complex know you want to view the exact unit after your approved but before you sign the agreement. Never sign a contract and you have never seen the product. Know your rights.
@@Rotisseriechicken1200 the key to that one is to refuse to sign the lease until you view your apt. I've been living in AZ since 2011 and that's the only way I do it. Legally, they can't refuse to let u see your unit when it's ready to be viewed.
So true!!!!!!!
Greed is helping the homeless thrive. People being priced out of housing having no choice but to hit the streets
The "homeless" problem is way more about drug addiction and mental illness. It has hardly anything at all to do with housing. We just termed the group "homeless" decades ago and the term stuck.
Rent is getting out of hand in Az. My advice is to find the cheapest most ghetto place to save up as much cash as possible to get into a house. You can get a cheaper mortgage than most these places and then rent out the rooms to make it even cheaper. Just have to get that money and credit score right.
Hit that on the nail.
You’re right . I’m really considering moving to Chicago . It’s becoming to expensive here in AZ . With 2 years my rent went from $650-860
@@ItsjustK96 facts mine went from $525 to $735 in less then 3 years, not even worth it the it's HOT af down there all the way till late Oct with!?

mikayla manigault do not move to Illinois it sucks!!!
Moved to mesa in 08 and prices were pretty good around 650 for a two bedroom in a decent complex. Prices went way up about 4 years ago everywhere in Mesa, phoenix, chandler. Part of the problem is min wage went up so apartments know they can charge more so they all get driven up. Every time min wage goes up this happens so min wage getting raised only brings middle class lower and lower class still ends up broke.
There needs to be a federal and state law that says rents cannot increase when minimum wages increase. Rent control needs to be put into law.
Lots of slum lords out here managing these apartments and townhomes in Arizona. I give you props Big Super, this is well needed for people to know the truth of what it really is.
That $800 or $875 is looking hella nice compared to $2000 $3,000 out here in the Bay Area
omg that's insane that's my taxes for 2 years in Detroit including my lots. yall pay alot not to see snow
Yup. Just stay out there so our prices stay this way😭 everyone moving out here raising our proces
Stay the fuck away
baaaaaby do you hear me its crazy out here
Down here in Tampa Bay Florida you would be real lucky if you can find a studio apartment for $800. And even more lucky if you got a job making more than $13.50hr. Our COL compare to income is insane. Nevermind utility cost to run air year round 😵😳
Yep, I'm in Gainesville, FL and I found a 1 bedroom for $675 includes water, trash, and basic cable/internet. Good neighborhood too. Used to live in East Mesa.
Now that's a blessing

Right on, bro. That's awesome! Congrats

I moved here from Illinois 5 years ago and I love mesa. I've had no problems here. Most of the places you went are apartment companies though and the wife and I bought a 1560 sq ft house in a great area and only cost $1300/month. Its 3 bedroom 2 bath with a full size swimming pool with deep end and grass in the back yard. Front yard is all rock desert landscaped.....also has a two car garage that I use for a project area....
Jim_Mitchell aka/jmgargoyle not bad I can handle that
@Thor The God Of Thunder, Hoes, and Beer not mine. I bought the house. But many of the apartment companies either include utilities or have discounted deals with the utility companies they use....my daughter just rented a studio apt and pays about $900 with the utilities....
What is the name the apt complex
Dam that’s a good ass deal. In New Jersey that would be 2500 to 2800 a month
Love that you are showing rentals in the area. Would be interested in seeing other places in Gilbert, Chandler etc. Thank you for all the great information you give to your audience!
Chandler is very nice very nice but i think it pricey but still might be in your price range
Also could you cover some places in Apache Junction. I have 2 siblings with medical issues, are 68 and 70 years old, are homeless and between the two of them get about $1500 a month. They are sleeping in their car.. All places want you to have 2 to 3 times the rent as income. Every agency that is ADVERTISED AND SUPPOSED to help the homeless all say, oh we don't do that or they are the wrong race. Sorry I am not racist, I feel all KEGAL TAXPAYING people should be helped. Illegals have more rights than tax paying seniors. ALL government agencies REFUSE to help. My brother gets 800 month social security but does NOT qualify for food stamps. My sister, 68, gets 700 a month and gets 36 food Stamps. Yet an illegal that does NOT pay taxes gets several hundred dollars food stamps PLUS welfare.
Try looking into private apartments to rent. The corporate owned apartments are overpriced, and usually aren't worth it.
Dirty Harry Excellent Advice , i Stay in a Small Privately Owned Nice Apartment Complex in Downtown Phoenix for 800 bucks a month in a 2 Bedroom 1 Bathroom apt which includes the internet, its a 13 minute walk from My Place to the Phoenix Suns / Arizona diamond back Arena an a 90 second Drive away from the i - 10 freeway going West an East an i make Over 15 dollars an hour at My Job , an U can Legally Carry a Gun Here like i do, Phoenix has been Good to Me , Thank U GOD for Everything U have Done for Me, even when it Hurts an i dont understand .

The last apartment complex you showed, The Nolan is why I have been homeless for the past two years when it was sold to an Investor in Toronto, and they sent me packing!
I'm Disabled, a Veteran, and have been homeless for two years. I'm not a drug addict, just lost my housing two years ago when the apartment complex I was living at was sold to a buyer in Toronto, who promptly notified the tenants living with Section 8 or VASH assistance they had the option to move out or pay full market value rent without assistance.
I found while looking for a place to move to, that most low income housing in my area was eliminated in this same fashion by greedy investors and was unavailable to find another place to live.
I bought an old van on payments and was forced to start living in it. I did so for a year and was offered a tiny fiberglass trailer on payments. I found that the person I bought it from had mislead me on a clear title, and have had difficulty getting it registered and legal to tow. I have been stranded at a Recreation Area, above Kingman Arizona for seven months now trying to get repairs done to my van. It is no longer safe to drive, and definitely not suitable to tow my trailer. It has been a living hell, upto 128 degrees at times this summer, now dealing with freezing cold at night and heavy winds. Every time I try to get some repairs made, something comes up. I bought a used generator which failed in a couple weeks, had to buy another one, then my emotional support dog Archie was badly bitten and required veterinary care, my air conditioning compressor failed in my Van, I cut my knuckle to the bone and ligaments on some glass discarding some trash which resulted in an Emergency Room Visit.
I have been trying to get help, and have not had much success. I was accepted for PATH Rapid Rehousing through the Catholic Charities, but have searched all over Mohave County but found I cannot afford an apartment on my disability income. I have been looking for a room for rent, but no luck.
So now I'm in a panic as I was notified by the Catholic Charities Caseworker handling my information, had their computer stolen and now my personal information has been compromised.
I am on a waiting list for Section 8, basically started over. I did not choose to be in this homeless situation, and have been doing my best to deal with everything I have experienced the past 2 years. I had to literally give everything I owned away when I lost my apartment EVERYTHING!, I did try and keep my many tools, but those to were lost to a "friend" who was going but keep them until I get settled, but would never respond to my calls or texts.
I am absolutely sick of my life. I don't live anymore, I merely exist, and it's not much of an existence at that. I have not showered in nearly 8 months, and haven't bathed in over two years since losing my apartment. My teeth are broken, many missing, and I broke another one recently, not looking forward to the toothache that's coming. I am nearly blind in one eye and can only see clearly with glasses, but I lost one of the lenses. I have reached out to every VA organization or service center I know of for help, but am ineligible.
I worked for the Air Force starting my senior year of high school, as a civilian employee and for the next decade.
I also simultaneously served 6 years in the Air National Guard, and was honorably discharged, but still don't meet the requirements as I was on active duty for well over a year with Avionics Technical School, and was activated during Desert Storm, but could not deploy with my unit, as I was a 3 level technician straight out of school.
I have no family for support, no friends, only a few people I have met while being homeless. I have had a fellow vet brings some water bottles and food items several months back, and just today was given a propane tank, heavy sleeping bag, and nice winter coat by Catholic charities, these were definitely a blessing and will definitely help, but I don't see how I can ever get out of my situation as my limited income doesn't suffice to handle the many needs I currently have trying to get out of my homeless situation along with handling my major dental problems, lack now of a safe vehicle, and trailer registration.
Any day the area I am staying may be closed, the BLM Rangers have told me they plan to close access to this Recreation Area soon. I will be in an Emergency Situation when they do, and have no idea yet what I will do.
Theres some nice houses in mesa for rent also. We off val vista and 60. We been here going on 2 months now. 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 story. Good size back yard, 2 car garage. $1440 a month. Includes hoa. We have a community pool too. Nice & quiet.

It is getting expensive because my dad bought a house in a really nice part of Phoenix Scottsdale for 120,000$ in 2002 now it’s worth over half a million
I bet he has a hefty property tax bill to go along with that half million dollar price tag.

Now It's $900 and still going up. 200 people are moving here each day. Like any large city that has improved, so does the price. Anywhere in the East Valley will be expensive. Phoenix is becoming Silicon Valley. Arizona is the #1 inbound State. People had friends or family move here and still think there are going to get the years 2000 prices. The 4 months of heat is our weapon. If it was 20 degree cooler in the summer . That same 1/ br would be $1600 a month. Get up about 4:00 or 5:00 am stay indoors till night. Problem solved. I love AZ.

There are some places that are less. Truth be told though, when this lease is up, plan on renting a house. Tired of upstairs neighbors.

Dont go to The Avenue Apartments on 8th Avenue and Alma School.. they do have plenty of 2 bedroom 2 bathrooms with stackable washer and dryer but you have to share one water heater per building and the maintenance is terrible, I know several people living there and its been several months and they have NO HOT WATER, they’ve been showering through the Winter months with cold water.. theyve made several calls and the maintenance person made it clear .. the water heater is too small for one building also the front door is warped and very hard to open , you can see the daylight outside through the frame of the door.. and rent here isn’t cheap over $1,120.00 a month
I use to live on 32street and Thomas back in the days and 19th Ave and Bethany and was paying $400.00/month. Back in 1999 I use to live downtown Phoenix for $200.00/month. I use to live in Phoenix for 15 years. I moved out of Phoenix back in 2011. Now, I live in Farmington, New Mexico and paying a 400.00 house mortgage. But my folks were telling me not to move back to Phoenix area because they jack up the rent and it got ridiculously crazy. I do miss Phoenix area but now I live in a country reserved modest town. A bit boring here but for the price, I will settle for that.
What kinda work you do there
Big Super Living In Arizona
Whoa! Great job on video in Mesa. Used to live right down the street from that Circle K and it's okay in that neighborhood but believe some parts worse than others. Rent seems to get higher the further east you go like Gilbert etc.
Hard to decide what area to move in AZ for me and my little family.. trying to move out of MN by the winter.. we want a somewhere diverse, good school and a mix of everything and activities.. help me narrow these down Plz!! Ha
Gilbert Az has the best schools and it’s a very nice area to live I think. I like the easy valley but that’s just me
@@kaysonrhodes5482 thanks for the reply I will look into it!!

No problem I have lived in Arizona for over 20 years I love it here I was born in Minnesota but it’s so dang cold there I can’t deal with the freezing cold weather I will take the heat instead. Minnesota winters are brutal
Gilbert and Chandler area (where I live) is the best schools and very family oriented. Good luck finding a spot for less than 1200 a month though especially south of the 202 where I stay.
Phat Diabetic
Rent has gone up so much in the past 6-7 years a 2 bedroom apartment in Chandler is around 1,200 a month also. I just really like the area around Gilbert/Chandler
And of course Tempe is home of ASU.
I made sure my kids got to go to school in Gilbert even though I had to provide them transportation it was important to me. Very good schools
Definitely helpful. Thank you!
I used to have an apartment in sunnyslope a few years ago. $1100 a month for 777sqft. I could drive by the circle K and see drug deals and homeless standing in the street. I cant imagine what they're asking now for rent.
I wish I saw this video before I moved to Arizona. I moved from Minnesota to Arizona July of this year, currently living in queen creek. The amount of rent I pay for a one bedroom I could of gotten a house.
I own a home in Surprise AZ., it’s 2300 sqft. I only make $1275. Month on disability. I rent out 2 of the bdrm in my house
$600. Month includes all utilities. Rent is very expensive here
hi there ,are you still renting your house maam?

As soon as i was in ur video 10 seconds and i knew uwere good source of info
Im from chiraq iwas in meza like 6 years agofor some weird reason i loved the weather althoughihate summers in my city.
I love that hat. Just bought an investment property in Glendale north side of Phoenix. You were influential. Thanks
In Buckeye I was paying $800 a month for a 3 bedroom manufactured home on 1 acre horse property. 10 miles south of the i10 & jackrabbit . This was In like 2013 - 2014
Out this way $800 or $900 could get you something nice if you look
Did you live on Hess lane? We moved there in 2003 not much there but I loved it
Big Sup. Got a spot in AZ and moving mid July. Got to link up bro!
Should had asked the cashier at 7-11 to hop in the freezers for 5 minutes
I haven't rented an apartment in a long time. I can not believe the rent has gone up that much. Thats ridiculous. But if your going to spend that much money on rent, just mortgage a home.
Try Denver. This place has gotten so expensive to live.
You can find 1 bed rooms for 650-700$ in Mesa my rent is 600 for 1 bedroom utilities included
And here I am In Georgia mad because I didn't want to pay $600 for a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom with privacy fence and pool
You're blessed 😊
I can appreciate you big Arizona for showing the properties but I just have a question for the properties that you look at how come the name is not listed so those that may become interested in relocating like myself can apply or see if they have a wait list I’m just wondering?
What part of Mesa are u in?? I'm from San Diego Cali and I moved to Mesa in 2017...off Dobson and Southern...and that area is actually really nice.. i pay 980 for a 2bd 2 ba with a washer & dryer in my unit...that's still cheaper than California where I was paying 1700 for a 2bdrm...🤷🏽♀️
@NaziAssUtube I do customer service work...at a call center...inbound calls making $19.66 a hr!!! Arizona is the customer service capital!!! Lol so many jobs that pay well...
Ree Ridley send me the information so I can apply mskag2006@yahoo.com
@@KWEENSCORNER the company is called SAN TANDERS in Mesa off Southern...minimum pay start at $18 hr for inbound customer service agents....😎 gluck hon...
@Pythia’s Lament lady 😐 So Ho is waay more expensive than San Diego...I wasnt in the HOOD but we're next to the Mexico border so rent is expensive there. Same unit your renting will go for way cheaper in San Diego. BUT I'm a homeowner now 😜 fuck paying 2-3k in rent when I saved up & bought a home.
After my personal research from a three week trip Sept 2020, You can better a better deal in far East Tucson than with Mesa Arizona. For example Pavilions at Pantano 8110 E Sppedway Tucson has a two bedroom one bathroom with 803 square feet for a reasonable $735 as of September 2020. Other two bedrooms with two baths range from $775 to $925. This would be considered a decent middle class place - not a ghetto nor ultra rich. The same quality in Mesa would range from $1,100 to $1,300 after doing some research in Phoenix.
Rent in Phx Metro has caught with it being a top 5 populated city. Folks are going to have to 'zig' when others "zag" i.e. go to mid-tier cities or deal with big-city prices because out of the top 10 populated cities I think San Antonio is the only one that is still affordable
Big greedy corporations gouging people for rent during pandemic
Come to Uptown/ Downtown Phoenix... unfortunately rent definitely more than 800 for a 1br ... depending on where you go.
Very good information Big Super.
Bro those shades is Fresh😎🔥🔥✌💯
And the cap too.
Been thinking on relocating my fam to Az. Just wish washy and unable to pull the trigger. You have the best/realest tour videos
Thanks man... Thanks for watching.
You rocking those glasses and hat Big! 🔥
Wow. My apt is 1200 sq ft, 2bed 2 bath, with all utilities included for $1104 with tax and everything a month. Utilities included here in Phoenix is a big thing. No $500 a month a/c bills in the summer and you can run it as cold as you like.
you couldn't even walk through the door before that lady shouting out that there was no availability. Didn't sit well with me but you didn't seem phased. lol.. You should make a video apartment hunting (or whatever) with a non-black person to see if you get the same response's. It would be pretty cool to watch. We hear so much about how racist Arizona is, and I think a video would help people get a better perspective about the feel of Arizona. Just a idea :)
I swear this is the first thing I noticed that lady was rude as hell and shut him down quick
And this man was being nothing but a sweetheart the whole time 🤕
@Rich Mahogany
Are u good 😂
@Rich Mahogany Satan get behind me. Why would I do that there salad are way too Delicious. Matter of fact I have a friend that actually did burn down a Wendy's. You know that it actually made it on the news? I thought that was quite interesting. What your deal though?? why are you so miserable?? Are you depressed, do you hate your self, do you think that your an ugly person? Well, I know that Jesus thinks that your amazing, you should really talk to him about your issue and not lash out at people for no apparent reason. Luckily for you, I'm gonna say a fat pray for you tonight. I really hope you don't kill yourself.
Arizona is like most places, 95% of the people are pretty nice. I'm not black or white, so I could be treated differently. I think ive only encountered two people who were pretty racist, it was a black guy and a white guy.
Az might have swung blue THIS election but it is still very much Trump city over here. Take that as you will..
Just moved in Mesa. Apartment hunting was chaotic and the prices are starting to be similar to the east coast.
I swear they don't know what ghetto is!🤣 Come to Philly or Chester....Lemme show you the "hood"
I lived in Brookhaven for a few years. Just up the block from. Chester. Im in Tempe Az. now. And you ain't lying!
From New Jersey Arizona is just a hot Camden 🤣
I’m from Mesa and there literally is no ‘hood’ in Mesa. There is a little bit of ‘hood’ in some parts of Phoenix but that’s it.
The comment is just ignorant in its self
Every state has a “ghetto” or “hood” to throw out there that you may come from something worse as if it’s better is confusing to me ? Plus he wasn’t even in the worst of Arizona. 🤣 this girl is goofy
@@SucioWolf93 Your chances of getting killed in Philly is much greater then in Az plus our hoods look and is grimy af come check for yourself.
Been looking at your videos. Wow. I’m charging wayyyyyy too little for my fountain hills condos I own and have had as rentals for 5 years now. No wonder I’ve barely made anything as a landlord. I’m reevaluating all of it, fountain hills is highly desirable and under 1000$ on my 2 br and not much more on my bigger condo is a steal. I need to make money, not lose.
Can you do single homes, or town homes
Bro it's nice cheaper places in Tuscon Arizona bro I'm from Atlanta I live in Tuscon lovely 2 bedroom 650 and not in the good workout room
Debbie Morgan $650! I’m paying $1200 in Tempe omg
Yes girl 650 and it's big and nice I'm in quiet nieborhood I'm from Atlanta I could find a affordable place in Phoenix so I move to Tuscon it's nice
Nobody talks about Tuscon all I hear is Phoenix Tuscon is nice and cheap cost of live than Phoenix it's too overcrowded the Southside is the hood but not like where I'm from in Atlanta seriously
People always talk about the hood it's a ghetto in every city in the world like come-on but anyway it's nice in Tuscon and affordable for Housing
