Secure the border. Stop illegal immigration. Deport as many as you can. Maricopa County spends $3.2 billion each year on 400,000 illegals. Think what $3.2 billion could do for a homeless population of 9,000.
Not if you lived under rent control like me in Canada. My rent is pegged to inflation and utilities are all included. I won't tell you the price beause you'd all want to kill me.

Ive never been in a situation like this and ive been working since 14 and on my own since 16. Just thankful to have a hotel room for Christmas. Literally almost everyone of those people there were on drugs. It was the worse experience of my life, but I’m so thankful for it because it humbled me like no other.

Same. Was last homeless back in 2016. Medical bills garnished my paychecks & I had no choice but to give up my house & move into a shite travel trailer! I did so on my own BEFORE I ended up getting evicted & was living in my car for 2 months, & worked like 80 hrs a wk in a Nursing Home as a CNA . I put my stuff into storage. Moving into the trailer saved me around 500 bucks pm. 500 bucks I just didn't have, no matter how hard I worked. I also had a car payment. It's true. It can happen to ANYONE! 🤷♀️

I think people should also seriously look into investing of some kind. Something that brings money back to your pocket, real estate, stocks, whatever can bring back value to their bank account rather than draining it. Obviously investing has its risks but so does just having money in depreciating assets or straight up liabilities.
Big house suv. Bruh you got people driving Honda civics, living in a 1 bedroom apartment and not a luxury one at that living paycheck to paycheck. The median rent is 2000. A lot of financial professionals especially the one I work with Samuel Peter Descovich agree that one should not spend more than 30% of their gross income on rent. That means you need to make a minimum of about $80,000. Interesting considering the median income is $54,000.

Then the Santa Rosa fires burnt Him out of the house he was living in as the entire subdivision was leveled. He rented a space in a barn. He died of heart failure a year after the fires.

there is a simple thing called health insurance to prevent these kinds of situations. there is also free social healhcare for the poor, as well as welfare, food, and housing benefits for the poor. We also have social security benefits for people who have worked and paid into the system. I don't understand why people from Europe make these kinds of comments without educating themselvs, especially when Europe has a homeless problem as well.
Please. Western Europeans, especially French, are very ignorant of what happens in the US. We have health insurance even for unemployed people as well as State Healthcare paid by taxes. Many of the folks who are homeless are suffering from drug addictions or have been kicked out by their spouses and have too much pride to go home to their families.
Americans don't really think of our country as a land of dreams except that millions of people from utter poverty are willing to walk thousands of miles to live here. These immigrants figure out how to make a nice life for themselves while many Americans just can't make it.

This was very disheartening to watch. Many of us are just one accident, health crisis, or job loss away from homelessness. Once you're homeless, it's extremely difficult to climb back out of that hole. I don't know the solution but radical ideas are needed.
Here are a few radical ideas: 1)get valuable marketable skills 2)live below your means. Quit buying stupid crap you dont need. Stop all unnecessary spending. 3) buy assets that make money/increase in value instead of liabilities that decrease in value. 4) instead of hanging out with loosers, get a side hustle that can be turned into a full time gig.

The rent increase is real. Just before I moved into my new house my apartment announced they were raising the rent from $950 to $1400 a month. I could afford that because that was what my future mortgage payment was going to be but I ended up having to go month to month because Covid led to supply shortages that indefinitely delayed my build and I had no clue when it would be done, the homebuilder wouldn't give me a closing date so I couldn't sign a long term lease. Month to month shot up from &1450 a month before covid to $2150 a month. I ended up blowing through all my savings to cover rent and I just barely moved in as I was down to my last $100 that wasn't tied up in the down payment for the house, closing costs, etc. I was actually contemplating living out of my car in the Costco parking lot next to the school I worked at before I finally received the news that house would be completed

We all have priorities and are responsible for ourselves. Some of us make sacrifices and plan for the future. Obviously, the ones that suffer now did not.
This is what 40 years of capital cashing out labor as a standard yearly business practice looks like. It all started in the 80s. Capitalism just gave up on caring about human lives. You just work, earn money for your employer, earn just enough for yourself to pay your daily bills and then your job gets cashed out, then you get another job that gets cashed out, this repeats until you are too old to get another job.
The world’s wealthiest country and this is happening ? wtf is wrong with governments. It’s not just the US . Hearing about that 90 year old lady who was evicted broke my bloody heart. I pray she finds shelter
Governments don't represent the average person anymore. The elite, which is a group of people that is far less than 1% of the population, have decided all of this human suffering is worth it and the rest of us are just trying to survive. It very sad actually. Capitalism has lead to this oligarchy.
When working in Montana I filed for disability. My lower back is terrible shape. I was told within a year I would have it. It took longer and my money run out. One Sunday after church I packed up my things and went to a shelter in the town nearby. I fared better than most. Some people had no transportation or anything. It took another six months until everything was approved. There's alot if the population who's one month between having a house and homelessness. Thanks for sharing.
@pedenmk too much of this country is one paycheck, one chronic health diagnosis, or one car accident away from losing their entire livelihood. This is the greatest country in the world, we have no excuses for not helping the needy. Adverse hardship should nullify debts, especially medical debts, and seniors on fixed income exempt from rent hikes.
Yes that's right! 5 years ago at the age of 6o I too became homeless because my entire town burned down! Imagine about 30 thousand people all at the same time trying to find shelter,it's an experience I would never wish anyone. After 4 years and finally being able to find a permanent home, whenever I see someone less fortunate I do what ever I can to help such as getting food, a cold drink and maybe a simple conversation because I will never forget those very difficult times!
So all those people who are homeless because of medical bills are they addicts too? Have some empathy or, alternatively, listen/read for comprehension because you might be one month away from homelessness.@@glow1815

This sounds so much like what happened to our family. My daughter was diagnosed with 120 degree scoliosis. Our insurance would not cover the surgery until her rib punctured her heart which was 1/4" away. Shriner's of St Louis did her operations which cost 5.5 million dollars. There were so many other things that added up including transportation to and from Kansas, audiologist blood which the red cross charged us $1500 x 6 a pint up front for each operation, x rays, doctors at home, time lost from work. My antiques store was closed more than open so we depended on my husband's salary. It was all too much for him to handle including also having an autistic son in special education so he left us. When he left I was unable to pay the mortgage and insurance on both my home and business. The kids and I got a one room studio apartment. I finally had a nervous breakdown and now we are all living in a studio sized public housing tower. My 1995 Jeep Cherokee was stolen so we are riding buses everywhere. My autistic son rides three buses each way to get back and forth to the community college. We are a paycheck away from homelessness and will never recover.
Rolling my eyes, ask someone who lives in a universal healthcare country, ask the medical worker, you dont have a clue!! You ( probably liberal or ignorant) don’t understand the COST of free healthcare. You think with an ideal situation and think resources are infinite.
“How’s it possible for homeowners in phoenix or Arizona to increase rent that quickly?” “We as the city of Phoenix are helping to create new affordable housing, we fund new developments constantly, my team just bought a hotel to convert into affordable housing for over 55s who are on low income” Damn, the city of phoenix doesn’t care at all for seniors or vets.
The city of Phoenix shouldn't exist at all. The city had to put restrictions on home building because of water rights. Developers were just building homes without securing water and scamming people. There's simply way too many people here that need to go away. The homesless shelters in South Dakota are empty meanwhile ours are over loaded.
The takeaway that I see from this is that entering retirement as a renter is very dangerous. Of course, if one is well off and can easily afford the rent, then no problem.
Even if you have a paid off house, property tax and insurance can cause ruin if you are in areas that have raised property tax so high it's impossible to pay it.
@@benton-benton If one is in that situation, then sell the paid off house and buy another house where taxes are more affordable. Also be aware many jurisdictions have property tax exemptions for senior and disabled citizens. I know senior citizens who pay no property taxes on their paid off homes.

Its beyond me how the american people arent out in the streets protesting, rioting about their situation. How are they okay with that becoming homeless is just around the corner. just a family member or yourself becomming sick and you are on the streets. or that its okay for appartment owners to set whichever rent they want or kick you out in 10 days. its insane... Even if you are doing well right now. I would be full of fear and anxiety constantly having to live like that.
Thats why its a crisis for housing right now. No one wants to rent forever. Owning your home is a great wealth builder. Theres countries where renting is the norm and most families just stay renting and will never own. Its considered the American Dream to buy your home and own it, therefore securing retirement for the future. But right now, housing is insanely expensive and becoming more unattainable for generations.
We need to get used to multi-generational homes. Sure kids can’t wait to move out on their own, but at this point it’s not about desires, but about needs. These days homes are unaffordable for younger people, and older people on fixed incomes, who can no longer work, are losing their homes to ever increasing taxes, insurance and maintenance. It seems to me the best course is to stay together in the home and help each other out.
@@AlexandraNevermind multi-generational homes come from a time where social security does not exist such as in some countries in Asia such as China, and most of Africa. Rent is high in Orlando, but it has been for a while. There's affordable places to live all over, just not in as trendy of places as the major metros. Please stay strong and keep struggling. My homeless nightmare in America went on 38 years before I was helped by my community. Thank you everyone fighting for the homeless people and are elders who always deserve respect and dignity. They will be housed! It just takes a bit of time.
She didn't answer the question about preventing rent increases. She avoided it. Which is what's driving a lot of people to homeless status. Rent maximizers. They don't care how much they raise the rent as long as they have someone else that will pay it.
Don't you remember just a couple years ago when landlords were NOT allowed to evict because of the "C" disease. *Lots* of lowlifes simply stopped paying rent knowing they couldn't be evicted.
One idea to counter that is if landlords raise rents that dramatically, a dramatic increase in property taxes on that property should also apply. That new property tax revenue can then be used to help at-risk people, who can't afford these new rent increase, pay the new rental fees.
Maybe the reason the rents are increasing as fast as they are is BECAUSE the government is increasing the taxes. I have one rental house and its in a decent area so I am blessed with good renters now. BUT my last renters DESTROYED my house, and caused $6,000 in damages. So being a landlord is not all fun and games. And when covid hit, many states allowed renters to NOT pay rent even though they could. BUT the landlord still had to pay the government taxes and insurance costs. The rent I receive is part of my retirement income, most landlord have less than 4 units and need that to survive too. @@Wasserkaktus
@backnu BINGO! Yep, she definitely avoided the question, which is the proverbial "elephant in the room", being the actual root cause of homelessness for a LOT of seniors and working class people.
I really feel for these people. I remember looking around town on my bicycle for a place i might be able to safely sleep. I was a stones throw from being houseless. I was frightened and depressed. I had applied for a HUD apartment and had been waiting 3 years. My number finally came up. I so appreciate every little thing i have. It's a blessing!
The same thing is happening in Florida since covid!! Im not on the streets yet, thank God!! I live in my RV on my sister's property. But i had wanted to get into an apt but rents have tripled here so, i cant move. Its been almost 5 yrs now. Im a 68 yr old white woman. My only bad habit is smoking cigarettes. Its criminal whats happening to our seniors. People who had worked all our lives, until they couldn't anymore. Shameful. I'm so sorry folks. 😢❤❤
I became homeless in 2012. I was 52, my job had recently been outsourced and my marriage ended. For five years I slept after hours in a toy store which belonged to a friend of mine. In 2017 the local department of health told my friend that it was illegal for him to have a homeless man sleep in his store. This was in Pomona, New York. I immigrated to Israel where I work as a janitor, rent a small apartment and I live normally. The solution to homelessness is very simple: abolish single family zoning and institute a guaranteed minimum income. Obviously there needs to be national health insurance. This isn't quantum physics however Americans don't care if poor people die. Which is why US life expectancy is falling. I was a patriotic American my entire life. Not anymore. After paying so much in taxes for so many years I was dumped onto the street to die in the middle of a New York winter.
@@GrantDWilliams82no it won't. We wouldn't use that money for homelessness. We already have the money we need to end homelessness. And the homes are already built. We choose not to help.
@@GrantDWilliams82 That would be quite a miracle. Since its founding Israel has received about $130 billion in US aid. The budget of New York City was $107 billion for 2023. The United States gave $3.3 billion to Israel in 2022. The budget for the US Mint was $4.4 billion in 2023. The budget for the Secret Service was $2.9 billion in 2023. Jeff Bezos has a personal net worth greater than all the aid ever given by the US to Israel.
This is heat breaking and scary to end up homeless. I am single on a fixed income. I don't know what I would do if I didn't own a house. The only sad thing is I ended up in debt fixing all repairs builder failed to do and thought of having to rent because of massive debt scares me. My heart breaks for these people. I cried watching this video
My rent was about $700. Then the boom. Over three or four years, by the end of 2019, it rose to over $1,200. And it was headed up. I moved to Arkansas.
So raising rents by so much should be illegal. End of story. It's illegal here in Denmark and guess what, regular people are doing good, and so are the landlords. There is really no excuse. Rent here is allowed to increase according to inflation, and thats all. In 2022 and 2023 when inflation was abnormally high, the government stepped in and put an increase cap on rent (4% max increase), it helped a lot of regular people, and the landlords came out just fine as well.
It's because here in the U.S. people are brainwashed to believe that any regulation or restriction placed on any business venture, no matter how unethical, is proof that "socialism" is taking over the country.
We have that problem in Sweden too. There need to be put in place some possibility for these people to find a room mate to share rent with. Some connection center where people can meet and connect. Rather go together and live 2 or even 3 people in a home than being homeless.
Good idea, unfortunately our government doesn't care... most countries would mobilize a social services agency to facilitate a program such as you suggested 🤷♀️
As someone approaching 60, I can attest to the importance of owning your home. Especially if you are not wealthy and won’t receive a nice large pension payment every month.
And for those who are young, please start saving and investing in an IRA or other retirement plan now, while you can. Skip that Starbucks or expensive purse and invest for your future.
Owning a home is becoming a problem too, the seniors are being taxed out of their homes by property tax increases too. It's going to get worse. Call your local reps to stop property taxes after the age of 65.
they need to stop real estate INVESTORS from taking housing away from us all. it's WAY too late for rent control. investors should never have been allowed to make a business out of our lives. why did he he pay all of those medical bills? he should not have used all of his money. not sure if this is an option but i got a car with no down from hertz sales once. a minivan to live in would beat the heck out of all that crap.
I've watched many of these homeless videos and I'm so sick of trolls saying it's all drug addicts and lazy people. I guess that makes them sleep better at night thinking it will never happen to them. I'm sure many of these people thought the same way yet here they are.
Exactly, it’s hard to afford rent these days, it’s all about the money, something needs to be done about this! I’m so tired of everything being based on a worthless green sheet of paper.
Well the ones that are perpetually stuck on the streets are pumped full of drugs and don't take advantage of the communities here to help them make a bad name for the normal homeless people. They literally shit on public transit and scream at you for no reason.
In 2012 I went homeless in Phoenix AZ. Worst part of my life and its due to that economy. I was lucky enough to have a friend take me in back east and I am doing better and back to normal. AZ was one of the worst places I have ever lived. Stay away. I lived in a hotel for 2 weeks downtown with drug dealers knocking at my door at 2 am. Had to pay everyday or get kicked out by sheriff who was there everyday removing people at 9am. Great place to live! I went from making 75k a year in another state, moved there for a job and within 2 months was fired and homeless because I spent my savings moving west just to find out the people out there are out for themselves and wont hesitate to take your job and livelyhood away in a second. I lost everything I had. Pictures I cant replace, and family keepsakes I couldnt take with me. Thanks Arizona, your a stain in the dirt! I will never forget you POS state!

Great documentary. Things will get even worse, unfortunately. Even at $1300 a month, your rent would have to be half of that, but these people need to move to a smaller, southern town where that is possible. I hope Vicky gets her id’s and money. Mr. Moya deserves a new life for sure. He seems like a good man. Poor Peter, the las man standing. Of course, the greed of Corporations prevailed. That’s America, along with shame non-profit that are supposed to help these people. Yea, right. However, I help the homeless and will do so until I die. Work all your life for what:?!!!!!! 🥺🥺
We have them, they are called nursing homes and I doubt any of these unfortunate, sick, sad, crippled people could afford $4,000, $5,000 and up a month to have a bed and food and medical care. I do not know many seniors who are not homeless yet that can afford those prices either.
I payed for my home and land in my 40s. Never had a credit card and only have had a phone for 3 years, a cheap one. I grow my own food. I am 63. I take care of my parents who are both blind. My husband and daughter died last year. I am grateful for all I have and will endure and find the beauty where I can.
I'm 45, single, no kids, don't own a home. My retirement plan is suicide. That is today's reality. Makes those luxury cars look ugly when you know that they get them from the misery of the people.
Nonsense. They get luxury cars by working and paying for them. Question is, why are you 45 and own nothing??? I am 46 and own 2 rentals. Zero debt. House i live in is paid for (no its not a mcmansion, just a little 3 bed 1 bath) Why? How?I am frugal and worked 80 hours a week all through my mid 20s and 30s. I bought assets and will buy more. I will retire fully by 55 is the plan. Nobody ever gave me anything once i left home at 18. I worked and earned.
The most important factors to build wealth are education and the extended family. Families feel the need to dissipate into separate residences almost immediately on adulthood. Prior to WORLD WAR II, it was expected you would live with family to build up your funds before starting a new family location. If every one has a vehicle and a different residence, it becomes so much more expensive.
That’s why so many immigrants end up doing so well in the US. They all move into one house, share one car, split the bills, help each other with childcare and other tasks until they can afford to branch out with their own family. We have a terrible issue with so called independence. I left home at 14 because I could not wait. We also do not care about our elderly. In many foreign countries there is no such thing as old folks homes. It’s bred into the people that they must take care of their parents until they are gone. But the parents still help with childcare and chores so it benefits everyone. We really need to have a wake up call and start caring about one another more than we care about our new cars and brand name clothes
I'm pretty sure we were manipulated unknowingly into thinking the way we do here in the US. Intergenerational family living builds family wealth, I think consumerism was taught to the naive to extract their wealth. Saw a documentary about it.

I’m from west Europe, and I don’t understand why people in America think it’s the land of dreams .it’s a nightmare for most people who get sick and got no social security system.
there is a simple thing called health insurance to prevent these kinds of situations. there is also free social healhcare for the poor, as well as welfare, food, and housing benefits for the poor.

This was very disheartening to watch. Many of us are just one accident, health crisis, or job loss away from homelessness. Once you're homeless, it's extremely difficult to climb back out of that hole. I don't know the solution but radical ideas are needed.
Here are a few radical ideas:
1)get valuable marketable skills
2)live below your means.

How awful. Dam l.l.'s.

“How’s it possible for homeowners in phoenix or Arizona to increase rent that quickly?”
“We as the city of Phoenix are helping to create new affordable housing, we fund new developments constantly, my team just bought a hotel to convert into affordable housing for over 55s who are on low income”
Damn, the city of phoenix doesn’t care at all for seniors or vets.
Limited supply means waiting lists for subsidized living most places.
Even if you have a paid off house, property tax and insurance can cause ruin if you are in areas that have raised property tax so high it's impossible to pay it.

Even if you are doing well right now. I would be full of fear and anxiety constantly having to live like that.
Because despite everything, food is still cheap and entertainment is still cheap. That is why Americans will never rebel
Most don't care until it happens to them
We need to get used to multi-generational homes.
Children in these types of homes are expected to be free caregivers and walking retirement checks. Not everyone has loving families.
Most property tax goes to schools. I should know b/c 76% of the hideously high property tax I'm forced to pay goes to the schools.@@Wasserkaktus

I had applied for a HUD apartment and had been waiting 3 years. My number finally came up. I so appreciate every little thing i have. It's a blessing!
I am blessed. This could easily be me out there on the streets!
Can America have all of the money that it gives to Israel back? That'll help fix homelessness here.
@@zoned7609 Do you know what fungibility is? Clearly you don't.
@@JacobStein1960 I said it would HELP end homelessness. Not that it would all by itself. Your comment was pointless.
Been looking of moving to central time zone north of red river and east to Appalachia!
@stephenyoung2742 Arkansas is very beautiful and it truly has four seasons, which I am enjoying. But the pace of life is definitely slower.
Right! That’s the horrible part is corporations are buying the houses and raising the rents Way too high! It’s immoral
I agree.
I wish I lived in Denmark! Dying day by day in USA.😢
It's because here in the U.S. people are brainwashed to believe that any regulation or restriction placed on any business venture, no matter how unethical, is proof that "socialism" is taking over the country.
Totally agree
Terrible that we can help other countries in need of help & in our cities there's people that need help in every meaning of the word. Sick Sad World
You give your daughter a ranch and then she lets you live on the streets? How awful.
We have that problem in Sweden too. There need to be put in place some possibility for these people to find a room mate to share rent with. Some connection center where people can meet and connect. Rather go together and live 2 or even 3 people in a home than being homeless.
Brilliant idea, and simple .this is heart breaking.💙uk
Didn't know even Sweden was so severe with homelessness.
Good idea, unfortunately our government doesn't care... most countries would mobilize a social services agency to facilitate a program such as you suggested 🤷♀️
If it were friends living together.. Strangers won't work. Too many character flaws and addictions.
In the 80s and 90s roommate service agencies were common. I lived with roommates in Brooklyn, San Francisco and Sydney.
As someone approaching 60, I can attest to the importance of owning your home. Especially if you are not wealthy and won’t receive a nice large pension payment every month.
Absolutely. It makes all the difference.
Property tax is going so high in some areas, older people are losing their homes to the county!
@@benton-bentonYep so they can steal your home
Trust me , it isn’t just drug addicts and lazy people. The system is just corrupt
Lots of people are one paycheck away from being homeless. Including wife and kids
Something is not adding up with your story, you was fired from a 75k a year job, what did you do to get fired??? Have you ever been addicted to drugs?
Way to hold yourself accountable and not blame everything else in life but yourself…oh, wait
What a sad world ! No one should be homeless if everyone Loved more and gave up this beast system !
Yeah, I hate to break it to you, but the majority of homeless people are not just simply people who lost a job there meth, heads drug attic’s, so there’s really nothing we can do for him besides bring back the state hospitals
Our goverment can give “ billions” to aid other countries @ war & yet for the “ PEOPLE” who went to war for this country and/or help build it …” WHAT is Uncle Sam doing to help them ? 😢🙏
Why in the hell would you ever “support” your best friends widow 😂🥴
Great documentary. Things will get even worse, unfortunately. Even at $1300 a month, your rent would have to be half of that, but these people need to move to a smaller, southern town where that is possible. I hope Vicky gets her id’s and money. Mr. Moya deserves a new life for sure. He seems like a good man. Poor Peter, the las man standing. Of course, the greed of Corporations prevailed. That’s America, along with shame non-profit that are supposed to help these people. Yea, right. However, I help the homeless and will do so until I die. Prayers for all of the people featured in this documentary. The SONG is perfect!!! Wow, getting old is harder than surviving in America! SMH. What happened to the American Dream?! Work all your life for what:?!!!!!! 🥺🥺
90% of my disability goes for rent.
New Revolution is Upcoming...
For the elites…just serfs
They need group homes for these senior citizens and disabled.
After they get done housing all of the illegal immigrants flooding our border, I'm sure the government will jump right on building stuff for citizens!
We have them, they are called nursing homes and I doubt any of these unfortunate, sick, sad, crippled people could afford $4,000, $5,000 and up a month to have a bed and food and medical care. I do not know many seniors who are not homeless yet that can afford those prices either.
Baby boomers dont need more of my tax dollars
Im good lol
The young people today won't take care of them my friend, they are too busy on tik Tok.
How do people get luxury cars from the misery of other people? If so, I would think there would be a lot more luxury cars out there lol
Am praying for you 🙏
@@redrustyhill2 kudos but not everyone has same opportunity. You think u are special? Big whoop
@@back2the80s yes, everyone has the opportunity to live like the grasshopper while mocking the ant.
When I was homeless back in 79 I saw so many people who suddenly lost everything.
@@angelacahill9460 My mother, brother, and I lived together for many years in my little house that my mother helped me buy. We shared one car. My mother (a boomer), myself and my disabled brother (gen x ers), we all live together. I'm desperately trying to pay off the mortgage on my mother's house, so my brother and I can stay, when she eventually dies. I don't earn enough to qualify my own mortgage, and my brother won't be able to handle living anywhere else. It's a race against time.
I thank God for my mother. After tearing up my right arm are a third time due to lifting heavy patients; she held my settlement money. We looked for something I could manage if I became totally disabled. That was 30 years ago. I bought a small double wide with the money. Best move I ever made. I thank her for making me listen. I also would have been homeless; with the increase in rent.
This is beyond sad. I am a 1964 baby boomer and I own a home with a "low" monthly payment and I always try to always be ahead two house payments however, I always pray hard to never experience anything like this 😢😭
1964 same as yourselves. I make a small 6 figure income, even a small 7 figure net worth but I'm still worried a major illness could do this to me. I would like to marry but that can be hazardous also these days with divorce happy courts.
1965 My home in Orlando paid off .
Hi jerseygirl. Keep that payment low and hopefully pay it off soon. NJ has lots of help for seniors once you hit 65.
If your payment is low, try to pay it off early. You'll need to be debt free for retirement.
That story about the evicted 90yr old lady literally happened to me and my dad in our rented house in 2021
Went through it in 2020. I don't wish that hell on anybody 😒
So many people just struggle. It’s unconscionable that elderly are homeless, most likely no health care. USA should be ashamed.
There's a world of difference between being homeless when you own a car, and being homeless when you have no car.
