It should go without saying, but unfortunately it hasnt, that the rant on Terminator: Dark Fate is for comedic effect. I really don't get bothered if you dislike the movie regardless if the criticisms make no sense to me. There's plenty of opinions I have that make no sense to others.

Blade Runner is not only one on my favorite Sci-Fi movies of all time but it's one of my favorite movies of all time, the soundtrack by Vangelis is one of the greatest soundtracks ever made for a motion picture, I also love how immersive the world is of 2019 Los Angeles and more importantly. I feel it's a movie that gets better with age as it has a very timeless tone and atmosphere, and the themes are very deep in it. Don't worry Cody, even if the movie is not for you. You can't deny it is a very memorable experience.

Judgement day, and Aliens will always be my top 2 out of these and are arguably two of the best sequels of all time IMO 🤘🏼✌🏻
The Matrix along with Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 are on my top 5 favorite films of all time
I love all three of those films too. The first Blade Runner film is one of my top 20 favorite movies of all time, while 2049 and The Matrix are top 50-60.

I know this may be unpopular but give me Terminator 1 over T2. Yes the effects were way better in T2 and it’s like the ultimate action movie, but it’s basically just a plotless chase movie. T1 was a really unique and original story at the time it came out. It’s kind of easy today to take for granted how out there it was at the time.
T2 is a great sequel but if I would make a list it would be behind the original. The original is one of the best dystopian sci-fi horror films of the 80s. T2 went bigger and we LOVE it but compared to the original it is a popcorn movie.
I like to think of it as a horror adjacent movie
while I agree with all your points, I think T2 is arguably the greatest action film ever made and such an impact on film period...so while I agree with everything you said I still slightly prefer T2
Well technically t2 was supposed to be T1 but he couldn’t do the liquid cgi back in 84 so he used the script for the second movie.
Did James Cameron direct T1 also?

Controversial opinion: I'll honestly take Alien 3 over Dark Fate any day. As much as I hated seeing Hicks and Newt pointlessly killed off in the beginning, I thought the rest of the movie was actually quite good. And unlike in Dark Fate, they didn't kill off Hicks and Newt just so they could rehash the *exact same story* with new characters.
I agree with this one. I didn't have a problem with killing John Connor off, but it was the way they did it. And Dark Fate is a retread of previous films, and what's worse is it borrows ideas from previous sequels that it reconned. A sequel to Salvation is what we should have gotten IMO.
@@rustyperry9414 Salvation is underrated. And yes, killing off John just to give his role and story arc to a new character was nothing short of insulting to me. If you're going to kill of a beloved, integral character like John Conner, at least take the story in a different direction. Don't rehash the exact same plot with a new character and try to pretend it's something entirely new when it very clearly isn't at all.

I always thought Robocain was terrifying as hell. That warehouse scene is nightmare fuel
Here's my Top 10:
10. Predators- Honestly this and Predator 2 are interchangeable but I'm going with this because over time I find this more underrated than Predator 2 and I really enjoy the concept of the game preserve in this and the warring factions
9. Prey- This was such a return to form for the series. The setting, the characters, the brutality, all of it brings back to the primal nature that makes Predator great and I hope they continue this trend
8. Robocop- This movie is gory, funny, and action packed. Robocop didn't need this satire or themes but the fact that it has them makes it all the better
7. Total Recall (1990)- This is personally in my top 3 Arnold films if I exclude 1 Terminator. I love how you can watch this movie with two different interpretations and still walk out and have a bloody good time.
6. Alien- One of the best sci-fi horror movies up there with The Thing. The direction, the isolation, the characters, and the xenomorph itself easily made this a classic
5. The Terminator- I love how much James Cameron was able to achieve with this original Terminator. It accomplishes so much for a slightly lower budget at the time
4. The Matrix- This is just a badass sci fi action film that was just revolutionary for the genre
3. Terminator 2- Easily one of if not the best sequel of all time. The switch was so good in this film and it was great to see the relationship between John and the Terminator. I also find the T1000 to be one of the greatest villains in film
2. Aliens- One Cameron sequel to another. This deviates from the horror of Alien and ramps up the terror with great characters, great effects, great music, and just everything is cranked up the way a sequel should.
1. Predator- This is in my top 2 favorite films of all time. I adore this film. It's endlessly rewatchable. The Predator is one of the best monsters in film, the bait and switch from hardcore action to sci fi horror is brilliant and I find all these characters endlessly quotable and fun to watch. I just love the primal feeling in the 3rd act and how once it's just the Predator and Dutch, there is little to no dialogue

@@Bateman61405 we all have opinions while 2049 is visually stunning at times to me it was kind of boring. I am in the crowd that didn't enjoy it that much. It's just crazy to me some people think it is one of the best sequels of all time when there are movies like T2 and Aliens.

Fun list, very entertaining. I mostly agree with your rant on Dark Fate. I really enjoyed the film overall as a whole and would of liked to see a continuation. Unfortunately due to the TOXIC side of the interweb that would rather shit all over film without viewing it, we will never get a terminatorfilm for s long time.

It’s a passable movie IMO, but when you drop a sequel from a huge franchise like Terminator it either has to be great or else it’s going to get shit on. Which makes sense considering these movies get $200 million to make the most average movies ever

Peter weller doesn’t show emotion in the original because he’s a robot. He acted the role perfectly.
Not sure if you think I'm missing something there but that's exactly why I said not much is required from the role.
T-1000 for the Win 🏆…. Perfect Slasher…even more “relentless” than Arnold in T1 … the cgi for the T-1000 being frozen in liquid nitrogen and then reforming was amazing…

My idea for a new Terminator film would be a side story movie that focuses on a couple of new characters who survived Judgement Day, and are now struggling to survive in the Age of the Machines. I would probably make one of the main characters a former cop accompanied by a pet dog that served alongside them in the force, and the other some sort of juvenile delinquent/thief. In addition to the survival of the main characters, another central focus that I would give to the film is how the main characters slowly developing a bond with each other despite coming from contrasting backgrounds and initially having differences with each other.
Of course I would also lean heavily into the survival horror territory for the movie since the main characters don’t really have any real method of killing any terminators, and would have to spend much of their time dodging them and conserving what little weapons and ammo they might’ve found. Only by circumstantial luck would they occasionally take out a terminator or two.
Then again, this is all just an idea that I’ve entertained on occasion.
I’d like to add to the original RoboCop. To me what really made me connect with RoboCop was how he had to deal with multiple forms of trauma (murdered, lost his family, memories were erased and ultimately controlled by the same people who had a hand in his murder). Imagine trying to function like that. Having to face the fact you are neither dead, nor completely alive and you are still risking your life to help other people and you have resolved issues that can’t be erased or wiped away. To me RoboCop has many real life messages within all the violence and gore. The score to RoboCop was amazing in it’s time. If you can remember the theme music that plays when RoboCop becomes aware of his past and takes action, the music changes and I can even now associate that music with a serious moment of redemption.

31. The Matrix Resurrection. Hated this thing! I don’t even consider it a movie, just a whim of Lana Wachowski.
30. The Predator. Why?! Who asked for this unfunny jokes and tone?!
29. Terminator: Genisys. A heartless movie that was so generic. Jai Courtney was awful.
28. Alien 3. If it weren’t for the audience betrayal at the opening scene, it would have been higher… such a shame.
Now for movies I just don’t like and will never volunteer to rewatch:
27. Total Recall remake. Such a generic and lifeless remake.
26. AVP. Requiem. So dark(literally!).
25. Robocop 3. for me it was boring…
24. Terminator: Dark Fate. I really didn’t liked Grace(female enhanced female) and the action was pathetic.
23. The Matrix Revolutions. This movie ruined the trilogy and I took it personally.
22. Robocop Remake. This movie is a RINO(Robocop by name only). The movie is not that bad but it’s a really generic and soulless version of the character!
21. Terminator 3. Never liked the movie and fact that it existed, but at least it’s not boring.
20. Prometheus. My least favourite movie of Ridley Scott. Amazing artistic visuals and gross everything else!
Now for movies I kinda like:
19. Alien: Resurrection. An ok Alien movie, maybe even less than that. But that’s enough for me.
18. Alien: Covenant. Really Liked the Alien parts. Hated David and everything Prometheus related.
17. The Matrix Reloaded. It’s a mediocre sequel with some cool action sequences and new ideas that came up to nothing.
Now for movies I actually like.
16. Blade Runner 2049. A good sequel that came a little bit late for me. But I still liked most of it.
15. Terminator: Salvation. I liked most of it and Christian Bale was awesome. It was unique.
14. Robocop 2. I actually dig the cheesiness of this B movie. I like the kid and the drug dealers. Last act was not as good as the first two, but I still like it.
13. Alien Vs Predator. A very nice event movie. Characters were mediocre and it should have been R rated. But at least the AVP action was good enough.
12. Prey. This movie is good and a nice return to form after “The Predator” almost destroyed the franchise. And while I did enjoy it and loving how it brought the franchise back to life in the eyes of many, I think it is way overrated and over praised.
11. Predators. I really liked the characters, story and action but last act was not good as the rest of the movie.
10. Total Recall. Always really liked it but I never truly loved it. Great concept.
From here on all are movies I love for different reasons:
9. Blade Runner. I really love the setting, story and characters. Movie is awesome.
8. The Matrix. This movie is breathtaking and amazing but it’s one of those times that the crappy sequels really lowered my experience with the film. I still love it though!
7. Predator 2. I know it’s not loved and I do see it’s flaws and B movie tone, specially in the first half or so… but I just love the last showdown with the Predator and really thinks that the last act is as good or even better than the original. Danny Glover is surprisingly awesome.
6. Robocop. It’s such an awesome movie! I like the violent tone. Robocop is awesome and the villains and supporting characters are very memorable… Emil’s death!
5. Alien. I love this movie and how revolutionary it was! Ripley is amazing and the rest of the characters are great as well. The space and Alien effects still holds up!
The top 4 are all in my top 40 favourite films ever made.
4. T2(Terminator 2: Judgement Day). What a great sequel!!! A great villain and even greater Arnie! Loved John Connor and The T800 but my favourite part is seeing how badass Sarah Connor have become.
3. Predator. The Manliest movie ever and the greatest combination of Action, Horror and Science Fiction. I love the Predator and the cast. Arnold is awesome
2. The Terminator. I know I’m in the minority here, but I love it more than T2. I love the horror aspect of it and think it’s amazing. Arnold is so iconic in the role…
1. Aliens. I love this movie! A great sequel that took a successful Gambit in bringing more action. The action set pieces are breathtaking. I just Love Newt, Hicks, Bishop and Hudson and of course, Ripley, the best female Protagonist ever!

The Predator will easily be my Number 31...never have I been so disappointed in a film that I had huge anticipation for. It really pissed me off. I didn't hate Dark Fate but I just don't care for it at all...just a barely passable 2 hours that I never feel like re-watching it. Great list Cody yet again.

I agree I've always been an advocate for the RoboCop remake. Everyone knows it doesn't come close to the original but I thought it was a good movie on its own and it did something wildly different. I really would have liked to have seen a sequel.

Even though it isn’t great and retreads T2 I kind of enjoy Terminator 3. A lot of it is nostalgic though as it was my first R rated movie in a theater and I went to it with my grandpa.

I have a fun time with both at least they didn’t betray the franchise like dark fate, dark fate as a stand-alone is freakin awesome but as a franchise I just couldn’t forgive it for killing John Conner just because I always wanted a true sequel with the original 4 characters with Arnold, Edward, Linda, and Robert Patrick fighting a Uber terminator like this movie had. If they did that I think this would have been a great ending.
We can agree to disagree on a lot of this lol but my top 10 in no particular order is Predator, Terminator, Terminator 2, Blade Runner, Alien, Aliens, RoboCop, RoboCop2, The Matrix, and Prey are some of the greatest genre films of all time
