Easiest way to place any object to start point of the path is select object first and press ALT+G. This sets object to the world origin. With object selected -> Add Object Constraint -> Follow Path, set Target -> Path (NurbsPath). Object jumps to the beginning of the Path. Thats it. 🙂🌞 It also works if you set Add Object Constraint/Follow Path to object first and then press ALT+G. You can do it both ways.
To make an object snap perfectly to the curve, make sure both objects have the same original point, if you then apply the constraint to the object, it will perfectly sit at the start of the curve :)
Didn't work for me. I selected the Bezier and set its origin as a vertex on the very end. I set the 3D cursor to that point. Then I selected the object I wanted to follow the path and moved that object to the same point as the 3D cursor and the origin of the Bezier path. I added the "Follow Path" constraint to the object, selected the curve as the path to follow and it immediately set my object a mile away as it does every time I try to start this process...
I'm following along till I click apply on spline after setting the shrinkwrap modifier target to the terrain. When I click apply on spline, the bezier returns to its original shape, but stays low along the terrain. Any advice?
Are there any videos you can suggest to me for intermediate- beginner. ı am not really a beginner.and I'm confused and ı am not sure where should ı start for watch tutorials.can u suggest me some videos ?please .u have a lot of videos
this channel is very interesting and contains many tips but if you are a beginner try lessons from CGBoost academy or Blender Guru or Grant Abbit - they have special courses for beginners. And then go here ))
What do you mean by "not really a beginner"? If you have a lot of experience with other 3D modeling software, check _Switching to Blender_ by FlippedNormals. Also see Curtis Holt's _Best way to learn Blender 2.8_ for general advice on how to learn & tutorial recommendations. Grant Abbitt & Blender Guru's modeling courses are definitely good. Also, *what do you want to learn most?* Like, I our host esmiles here is a 3D generalist that does lots of different things really well, and looking over his channel you can get a feel for what is possible to do. But after learning the basics & getting a first taste of each area of 3D, focussing on one or two specific areas (hard surface/character/game asset/photo-based modeling, archviz, sculpting, shading, texture painting, rigging, animation, motion graphics, physics simulation, movie VFX...) is probably more efficient than trying to become better at everything at once.
I have one object with array modifier on (4 feet) that is parented to a empty (for control of rotation and such). Im trying to parent this object to a bezier with shrinkwrap mod applied. It works.. Although, when I apply the dynamic paint my feet leaves no footprints in the ground. Feet are set to brush and ground to canvas with displace. If i make a Ico Sphere for example and apply a brush to it the sphere will make a displacement. Have any solutions/ideas? Im using blender 3.0. The ground has sub div modifier and 2 displacement modifier applied already.
I suppose that would have to be completely different animation nodes and keyframed differently for each sequence, as the body posture and everything changes on uneven terrain. It's a bitch and a half and the reason why 10's of animators work on an animated movie haha This is just a simplistic way to get your character to follow a spline path, but I doubt you'll be using it in any real application, well at least not without several other steps
@@KNullHypothesis It really did. Now I've got to find out how I can get my motorbike object that is set up to follow a path to automatically & sympathetically tilt as it follows the path's curve. It's a constant battle to fill one's stomach in this game, isn't it?

Not working and I dont know what the h*ck to do anymore. Does anyone know?
Found that Alt/Opt + G also snaps the object to the curve if this does not work. Then, adjust the Forward and Up Positioning.
Thank you so much, this helped me to track a car along a curve when none of the other car tutorials worked.
Real life angel for sharing this
eey thanks
You don't need to move it. Just select the cube and press Alt+g
Thank you so much for this video, it has very important principles for animation.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this video! This has helped get past a hurdle I was at!
Awesome I was trying to move a car along a path and this was perfect!
This is exactly what I was looking for thank you so much subscribing now
wow thank you!
Awesome !!!
cool!

i would need to see a screen shot or something to know whats happening

Did you find a solution?
Sir what are you computer specs?
Could you suggest a fully budget computer specs for learning blender.
It's in the video description.
how do you keep the runner upright? So he's not tilting forwards on the downslopes and tipping backwards on the up...?

Actually I found a video that perfectly explains the solution to your problem ua-cam.com/video/MXHW8nAURms/v-deo.html
