Another very happy swapper here. Thank you for the videos. This is really great. I can hear cool new sounds that I like out of my AFE intake, too. I tested the DISAs before updating SW. The small one didn't stay closed so I replaced it. Took the risk adverse path and got the MAHLE genuine BMW part. The connector that was "gonna make you wanna quit the whole effin job" could be pretty easily removed once I eventually saw how to push in the inaccessible side with a flathead leveraged on the engine, then push in the other side by hand. At first I was working the flathead into the space between the hose and connector to get it loose. I'm glad I didn't break it. You might want to think about what you are going to do when you see that you could do some cleaning where the injectors spray into the cylinder head. I sprayed in carb cleaner but wasn't prepared with a clean scrubber I trusted. It didn't obviously do much other than pool then flood when I started up later. I did not clear any errors after the RSA delete, I just power cycled a few times then did the 330 upgrade. The remaining AWD error went away after driving a bit. Open your back seat access to the trunk before you disconnect the battery (I did just the negative) and lose the ability to open the trunk from the outside. Have fun. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video. I’m pretty fortunate we have the 3 stage on the N52B30 in Europe. Adding to that it helps that the euro intake filter housing is bigger (cone shaped) and there is no carbon filter
Great work.
Thank you for helping me do this conversion with your prior videos. The difference is massive on my 328i!
Very glad they’ve helped! This is how the car should have come from factory👍
Anu difference in fuel consumption?
@@cavedweller8814 slight decrease in consumption but much better engine response
@Just Wryt the manifold is plastic yes. Can you port it? Sure. There’s no reason to as it matches the cylinder head perfectly and you’d have to port the head too.
@@mikejnaughton1226 did u flash it yourself ?
I think just saw your listing on offer up locally while looking into the 3 stage intake manifold will definitely be buying from you
Thank you so much man, finnished swapping the manifold and flashing the car yesterday and it feels like a beast, all done with the help of your two videos!
That’s great! Glad they were helpful to you to get it done. Definitely how the car should have come stock
That’s the difference between a flash and a tune , is the flash just for one specific part?
@@autohut3720 thank you for this. it inspired me to do it and it's great!
@@lt1_barber923flash is usually said when referring to “flashing” the car’s ecu with an off the shelf configuration, like for the 330i when you have the 328i. Tuning your car often means customising the timing/ignition/fueling based on your hardware etc. though people seem to use them interchangeably now.
this is great thanks for the informative video
Very helpful man!
I bought your last listed 3 stage manifold today. Thanks for showing how easy all the steps can be including the programming. Ill have to find your video on how to flash your 328i with 330i tuning.
Thanks. The video should be here on the channel aswell, it’s the bimmerlabs 330i tune. Let me know if you have any issues flashing
@@autohut3720 Thank You, ill keep you posted.
I'm loving it 👌👌 I gonna have stage 3 on my 325i E90
So glad we have them standard on the euro N52B30. The sound you can make with a full intake and exhaust upgrade is pretty awesome. Good luck with the upgrade and the car in general.
do you know if its possible to put the x5 3.0si tune on it? I saw its 268hp vs the normal 258
If I get a regular tune for the n52 that has nothing to do with the manifold will it activate the disa valves and give me that extra power or no?
Don't forget the N51 stock with all the system already to go.
Hey can u help me? I did the swap and am using a dme from 530i cuz mine got water damaged but my car is a dog it's slower than stock and I'm not getting power to the wiring for disa valves. It's the equivalent of a golf cart. What do I do?
Can I code it to 330i and do the transmission flash without doing the 3 stage manifold ?
16:33 thats INSANE
Wish i would have seen your videos before i purchased and installed my manifold. I have a 2009 E91 not sure the donor model/year for my manifold but it only has one hole on the back. I plugged the hose coming from my valve cover so it could work with the single port manifold. now i often smell oil while driving. I was told it was due to a build up of gasses in my crankcase. I believe the manifold originally came with oil separator do you think installing oil separator would be good idea in my situation
There were two versions of the ventilation system on the n52. The first one had an exterior oil separator like you mentioned then they have one that the valve is built into the inside of the valve cover where the hose attaches. You need to have a way to relieve and process those gases, so yes you shouldn't have it plugged because it can cause problems like blowing gaskets because that pressure needs to escape. And you won't be smelling the nasty gases too. They sell the oem separator, you should buy and put it on.
I have a manual trans… will the tune work with this also?
Do you sell headers for a 2006 BMW 325i 3.0L N52
Would this flash cause me to fail smog check in California?
nice work ! i have a 325i pre lci e90 and just bought the 3 stage manifold. do u know if a 330i dme will work on my 325i if i swap the dme ?
It will be a ridiculous amount more work to swap the dme than flash the car to 330 as I show in my tune video. Dme has to be synced with everything in the car and most likely will need to be flashed to 325. Mod your stock one. Also make sure you test the disa valves in your manifold before swapping on inpa
Iv got a 2008 525i n52b25 2.5L will this stage 3 intake manifold work? If so how much for one off you?
I have a question. When installing the 3 stage manifold does "flashing" mean you are resetting the ECU/ECM to relearn with the new part? I can install the part but my computer skills aren't sharp. And is it a different flashings procedure if it's a manual 328i?
No, you are flashing a new file
Sulev models come out with stage 3 manifold from factory
Hey can I do this to 06 330i
I’m trying to buy from you but can’t find the link to your eBay
Are you still selling the manifolds?
For a 2011 328i do you need to get 2 new DISA valves as well for installing the manifold or do you only need to get the manifold? Thanks for the great vids
And are you going to restock your manifolds on eBay soon?
did u find answer
Did you find an answer? What do I need other than the manifold? I know you should but extra hoses because those might break when you are taking them out
Do you still sale 3 stage manifold??
How would i know if the 3 stage manifold im trying to buy from ebay is in good condition by just looking at the pictures. Like what should i lookout for. I foud a couple used ones price ranging around $180-$350
You can’t know without testing the disa valves on inpa/ista. They can look perfect and not work because the electronics inside are bad. Also disa valve revisions play a role. You want small valve part number ending in 538 and large one in 537/114 at the very least
I know now California is checking for the the bit flip from flashing your car and will fail you on emissions. I know the 330i flash will trigger this warning. My question is if you flash back to 328i flash will the ECU still report the ECU tampered with error?
California.. where you can steal from stores without much consequence, but dare modify your car and they will come looking for you
do you still have to callibrate the transmission for a manual car? and does the bimmerlabs tune do that callibration as well? or is that a different software required for the transmission callibration?
I have a e90 328i and I want to upgrade it to get power like 330i and I also plan on getting headers later on as well
No need to do anything with the transmission if you have a manual car. All that’s done is letting the engine adapt with the 330 tune
@@autohut3720 thank you so much!
@@pragashgnana597 welcome👍
Can you do this on an xdrive as well?
Yes, the car being awd or rwd doesnt matter for this mod. My car is xdrive
Hey man, love your videos! How many HP would u gain without the flash? And with the free flash how many ? Thanks
On 328i 2011
Without the flash I don’t think you’d get much since the car won’t be making up for the valves being there at all. The valves will close when the car is started with the manifold installed but that isn’t gonna make much of a difference. The flash by itself does make a difference but it is best when coupled with the manifold so you can have the proper setup and runs as it should
@@autohut3720 let me know if I can buy one directly from u
I tried flashing my Z4 3.0i to a 3.0Si but it stops during the unlock process. I think my Winkfp is working right but I'm not sure. Also how to check if Disas are good?
Check them in the actuations menu in inpa or you can plug them in the stock tune and they should function but won't open and close when they should because of the 328 software..
@@lunaticrider1 Yeah I checked them but they were not acting right so I bought new ones.
Hey man whats up! I'm very excite about what I saw in this video, do you sell the manifolds and also the trans tune that you mentioned? Thanks a million in advance
The trans tune is available in the bimmerlabs website if you put your car in with the guide I made for flashing and change your ecu from msv80 to gm1912. I only recommend flashing it if your car is older than 2008 as some newer cars can have issues with it until it’s resolved and need to flash the transmission back to stock if flashed. I sell the manifolds on eBay, here is the link, don’t have one available now as I sold the last one recently but I have more getting finished

Hi there and thanks for making this video. My car is a 2008 e93 328. Wondering is there a specific year 330 intake I should be looking for? My car has 200 thousand kilometers on the clock and will this mode put more stress on the engine? Don’t want the reliability to suffer.
Hey do you have anymore 3stage manifolds for sale ?
I do regularly, here’s my eBay link. I sold the last one I had ready to go a day ago but will have more soon.

How is everything man?
hello, i have a 2010 128i, sulev car. Will a tune activate the disa set up? or is it already active?
Did you find anything?
@@jamesdupont3212 for tuning? Not really off hand
@@TheSpeakingsilence01 did you do any tune?
12:01 thats definitely faster i must say
Hey Bro I just got a 328xi, I live in Miami would you help me complete this mod?
I would pay you of course lol
how can i tell if my car has the 3 stage manifold? i read that some 328i came with the 3 stage manifold
In the EU only i’ve heard. In the US they came “downgraded” You’ll rarely find a stock 328i / xi with a 3 stage manifold.
If you have a SULEV model. They were mainly sent to California, Washington and New York. You can google how to tell if your 328i is a SULEV. Those come with the 3 stage manifold and are tuned to match the regular N52.
Can I do this flash on my 128i ?
Yes as long as it's N52. If it's N51 the flash won't be free
Any difference in fuel consumption?
None except the one induced by wanting to make use of the newfound power with your right foot. If you drive it easy I think it would be even better than before as you don’t need as much power to get up to speed
hi bro, what kind of transmission?
This is a GM 6L45
Hey can you tell me where you located are you in New York
Hey I’m in south Florida.
Hey bro are you in Florida ? Can u just pick it up from you? I need one
You could. I’m in the homestead area. Working on one to finish by this weekend
i found a 330i parts car. I want to swap it in to my 328i n52. Can you point me to a video or guide to do this? any advice or tips? Thanks man. Liked and Sub.
Swap the manifold or entire engine? If you want to swap the whole engine there are certain things that are different that I know of and I’m sure others that I don’t know. The 330 uses an external pcv system instead of the integrated one in the plastic valve cover the 328 uses so you want to swap over the whole engine with valve cover, pcv and manifold. Throttle body I believe has a different connector but you can check. If they look the same then no need to swap them. Some o2 sensors and routing can be different depending on if your 330 is a very early car but if not shouldn’t be an issue. Many other things. I assume you’re trying to run this off of the 328i DME so if you get any codes after swapping and clearing you might have to swap other parts such as maybe MAF sensor and who knows what else. These engines came with different computers from factory but can still match with some changes.
@@autohut3720 i should have specified. the manifold. i think i found your video.
Does your car have the gm transmission? Thanks
Yes my car has the 6L45
@@autohut3720 Thanks bro. Seems like this transmission tune or upgrade you did is the only one available for it?🤷♂️
@@L-Noble.YT_Hi.Res-Soundminds yeah it’s basically as if you went and flashed an e83 3.0si from scratch. This car just happens to take that software too. It makes it better but of course it isn’t anything like xHP just more responsive

I've just finished the swap & flash and seems like I don't notice much of a difference on my 128i. I will reflash the 128i to 130i tune now but seems like it's not that big of an upgrade.
After you reflashed it did you notice any difference? I have a 128i and am also thinking of doing the upgrade
How was it after the tune? You definitely need the tune even notice a difference
Not really worth it IMO. It gives a little upgrade but it's better to go with a custom tune like I did. EVentually I ran out of upgrades on my 128i and decided to sell it for the 135i and man, what a night and day difference... never looked back! Currently have the 135i convertible stage 2+ and it's pure joy.@@zureai
@@charlesd7301 Okay that’s good to know! Thanks. I might just skip out on it then myself. Enjoy the 135i. I’d love to own a 335i but I love daily driving an NA car.. must cheaper to own lol
Honestly drove it all summer and did the required preventive maintenance.. if you're handy you can get away with most N54 problems..Next summer i'm doing the valve cover along with all gaskets then I should be good for a while hopefully! The N54 is an amazing platform. My first BMW was a 328 2009 and since then i've owned like 6-7 different models over the years. N/A cars are fun and reliable but to me the real fun is the B58. Amazing engine and enjoy my M240 all year long! Good luck@@zureai
