    For the intake pipe. 3.25 inch 45 degree silicone boot + 3.5 inch 90 degree boot. Slip one into the other and cut to size but works well. Overall great video

    How would the blow off valve will be managed with the valvetronik system - due to its work - in manifold, with boost, there will be no vacuum (throttle is not closed by 100% with valvetronik) ?

    • @Moon-Garage
      @Moon-Garage  3 місяці тому

      For when it's boosted (I'm almost done just about to tune this weekend). The blow-off valve gets a vacuum reference from the manifold (before throttlebody). The throttle body does close 100% while the valvetronic system does not. So it will still send vacuum to the BOV. Same way how a factory 335i (n54) works.

    • @Moon-Garage
      @Moon-Garage  2 місяці тому +1

      @milesw3720 didn't tune it, and it drove great. The n52 relies on the maf sensor and reads how much air is coming in, then adjusts how much fuel it sprays. Drove it for about 2 months like that. Now it's turbod on a base map

    Hey man I have a question so I have a 2010 528i n52 I want to put the n54 manifold on my car but how would I go about the disa valve connector I would take it to a place in Vegas to tune but no shop is interested in helping. If you could give an insight I’d appreciate it

    • @Moon-Garage
      @Moon-Garage  3 місяці тому

      If it's an n52 with the 528i manifold it doesn't have disas and you can just install the n54 manifold with no coding. If you have the 530i manifold with disas on, I would say that it's not really worth it to swap to the n54 manifold. You'd lose a little bit of low end for a small, even unnoticeable gain in the high end. If you want it recorded, you would have to find someone (maybe through FB pages) that can code BMW, or you could learn and do it yourself. There's a few different softwares you can buy to do it.

    Soo i have a 2005 325i looking to do this upgrade
    But i have a few questions
    Did you use any gasket on the block/ intake? or no gasket at all?
    And 2nd is it gonne give trouble with the disa valve?
    And how much power increase does it give? Is this more worth then the 330i 3stage inlet?
    Thnx for this video

    • @Moon-Garage
      @Moon-Garage  2 місяці тому

      The intake manifold does have rubber gaskets but if you're not boosting it and they look to be in good condition you don't have to change them. In comparison to the 330i manifold it is probably similar power gains. The plus side is you won't have to reprogram the car for disas.

    Doesn't N52 come out with crankcase breather oil separator? So why would you run catch can if oil separator is already present? I'm about to get N52 so I really appreciate videos like this one. I just need to get everything sorted out so I can work on it as well.

    • @Moon-Garage
      @Moon-Garage  3 місяці тому +1

      It does but the return to manifold line still has weird sludge junk going back into it. My catch can right now is filling up with a weird liquid that I wouldn't want to run back through my engine especially boosted.

    I just did this swap and got a bunch of codes and lights on. I think I might have a vacuum leak but I also got my brake light on and my DTC light on. Any idea what might cause those 2 lights on?
    Did you have a small hose on your PVC valve? if so where did you route it to?
    What did you do with the crankcase vent connector?

    • @Moon-Garage
      @Moon-Garage  5 днів тому +1

      @arebelfromhell that's interesting. Brake light and DCT light would usually be from a wheel speed sensor, so maybe you accidentally touched one of those as they are very sensitive. Either way should be completely unrelated to the intake manifold.
      As for the PCV that comes from the back of the engine, I have it dumping into a catch can. You can route it through a catch can and back into the intake or directly into the manifold, or you can dump it on the ground. Up to you.

    • @arebelfromhell
      @arebelfromhell 5 днів тому +1

      @@Moon-Garage Thank you for your reply, I figured out all the codes and the Brake & DCT light. My crankshaft sensor came loose and caused those lights and codes to turn on.
      I don't recommend installing the manifold without the sleeves like you suggested towards the end of the video because the plastic is really soft especially when it gets hot and created some indents from tightening the bolts on my manifold.

    I would rather go with n54 manifold then the 3stage . I hate disa valve because of the plastic parts ... I have an 523i and I want to increase the power , I have only 177 hp but I bought it because of the good condition of the engine .I want to add more hp at least 218 like the 525i .What do you think , this n54 will help me with some power?
    I have the manifold with the single disa valve , the valve from disa it s almost broken in half , my only options are to buy a metal kit valve to repaire it or to buy this manifold from an n54 and to lose all the problems ...
    What do you think ?
    Thank you!

      If you're able to program it or have someone do it, the n54 manifold would be good! I'm not sure how much of a power gain you'll get, if any, but you sure will get the reliability of losing the disa valve.

      With N54 manifold car will be laggy at low rpm but maybe a bit better at high rpm. Disas give you more low rpm torque for daily driving expirience. So i would recomend disa setup for daily n54 manifold for racing or boosting.

    • @Moon-Garage
      @Moon-Garage  4 місяці тому

      Power wise, I'm not sure. I felt gains in mostly high end and I've heard the same about the 330manifold. I went with N54 manifold because I won't have to deal with disas and it will take boost. In my opinion easier to do as well. No reprogramming needed.

    how on earth is this supposed to work? The ECU needs to be programmed with the right map and you need the intake feed back from the valves and the MAP sensor and the valves need to know when to open and close along with the throttle valve. The vanos need a different timing and the vlavetronic will also need ...OMG I dont see how this will work at all.

    • @Moon-Garage
      @Moon-Garage  Місяць тому

      N52 is very good at reading airflow and udjusting fuel. A tune may help a little, but it will pick up power on its own. Going from one manifold without a disa to another without a disa is hardly a change for the engine tune. Just a matter of flow at certain RPMs.
