Tbh the biggest difference in your buying option is Efx loop. If you put a pedal in front with EQ on a micro terror it can sound like a dark terror no questions asked 👍🏻

Trevor Wilson mic placement with the SM57 can change the sound significantly, which is part of why guys like Ola Englund and Fluff can make even a fat turd sound like a metal machine...at least this video gives us a good idea of what we'd hear if we were standing in the room, which to me is more helpful than just another demo with a mic'd up cab.

Although you are correct in regards to mic placement I'm pretty sure the OP was referring to the lack of gear knowledge/experience when this kid has a tremendous amount of other, let's say unneeded, gear. Pointing out the level of ineptitude within the musician. Which I also agree with.
Ryan Wilson Eric shreds always does reviews for everyone. He doesn't use a mic to lack professionalism, but to give you an idea of what the amp sounds like live and in a bedroom setting.

your title is incorrect fyi. it is micro terror vs micro dark, correct? not micro terror vs dark terror.
Although it's part of the Orange Terror product line, the Micro Dark actually doesn't have Terror anywhere in it's name
I think it's to give it a distinction so people don't think it's just a color swap
The one on the micro terror with the extra pedals sounds really good! Even after going thru youtubes video compression, the dark sounded like it needs more treble?

dark was more metal sounding and certainly more full, but i think the white one had a nice tone by itself. probably just depends what you're after.

I get my Djent tones from my crate amp with a Boss Metal Zone. Well that's my live right anyways. If I get good grades my mom is going to buy me an emg 85 that I will put in the bridge of my Shcecter.

i was very lucky, my micro terror tube meltet, so i got the money back and bought a dark terror, i play it on a 4x12 marshall and a 4x10 ashdown evo , between the amp and the boxes i got a mixer. perfect setup

this video actually captured the sound of the room well. i would recommend micing the cab and mixing the audio that you captured from your phone or whatever
Its all about the outputs for me..the dark is set up perfectly to go into my powerblock
the tone on the micro sounds good on its own but it won't hang for a second in a mix where the dark terror will be heard cutting through like a knife through butter. the guitar is a mid frequency instrument so boosting the highs, lows and gain especially but mainly boosting the highs and lows will in contrast just cut the mid which is what you need to be heard clearly in a mix. this is why some people prefer amps with less controls so you dont mess it up. dark terror is the easy winner. plus organic tone coming straight from the amp can't be beat

Bill Rowse I think he is saying the mids are what you need to be heard in the mix, not that you need to cut the mids to be heard in the mix.
I agree, the Micro terror still pales in comparison to the micro dark even with all those effects added to make it sound richer. The micro dark has a phenomenal metal tone, the micro terror boosted wouldn't cut through the mix as well as the dark would

+Harvey Djent very loud! but I'm running them through a 4x10 bass cab which I wouldn't recommend for home practice. I probably need to get a 2x12 cab or even smaller. So I can push the amps more without pissing off my neighbors and get a better tone. Now when I crank up the volume I only have to turn the gain up a bit and I'm already well at practice volume. All in all I'm very happy with them though. Sure beats my old Gorilla practice amp. I hate that thing so much I want to burn it in some kind of bloody occult ritual
