The thing with Kotoka and Mel is that there are too many coincidences that led people to believe that she said something to her in confidentiality and Kotoka decided to spill the tea. Just way too many coincidences for people not to raise eyebrows.

The thing you all have to remember Yagoo wanting to give her a second chance and didn't want to terminate her But NDA is nothing to scoff at. Mel didn't want Hololive in legal trouble so she CHOSE to be terminated. Not the other way around. Kotoka isn't the cause of her termination. Yagoo knows he isn't stupid. We shouldn't be blinded by rage all because we lost someone. I am upset losing Mel but this rage at someone potentially innocent doesn't help our case.

I don’t think they did, but if they did, what Legal Mindset said could actually be true. Nijisanji could have a case of gender discrimination. The male members (Vox, Uki, Luca) can do whatever they want, but as soon as a female talent makes a single mistake (Zaion, Selen) they get eviscerated instantly.

Drama is in their blood. Either way firing Kotoka not a good move. Many may not like Kotoka but she is a entertaining woman. Yes I am aware many in the community thinking she is a snake but unless Roca herself says otherwise besides that activity of Roca blocking Kotoka..I am giving Kotoka a benefit of a doubt. People may think I am defending a snake or whatever but I draw a line when Nijisanji fires talents for no good reason even if is someone people hate. Luca deserves to be fired. Uki deserves to be fired. Vox deserves to be fired. Wilson deserves a suspension at least.

The reality is they always will end up in drama because they don't want to change. For a while I have wondered why niji keeps on doing this and ruining themselves and at this point I don't care. The Vtuber community has given them multiple chances to improve and they just throw it away.

The biggest betrayal for Zaion was Kotoka saying, she had nothing good to say about Zaion. After Zaion felt they were really close. And spent much of her time helping.
Mel said she was betrayed by someone she thought could be trusted. Blames herself for breaking NDA and accepts the termination gracefully.
Mel didn't go to some drama tuber. What third party would she leak info to? That it would quickly come back to Cover? And to which company it would be a major offense to leak to?
There is speculation but no solid or tangible proof to blame Kotoka on this

Mel has been in the industry for years and knows probably hundreds of vtubers/utubers, and she could also have other acquaintances. People acting like it can only be Kotoka because Mel doesn't know any other people.

Now with the allegation of her being the reason Mel got terminated, she won't have much backup unlike Selen, also Kotoka is more like a JP member at this point with barely any connection with EN content creators (Selen/Doki have contact with Apex Pro Player and english speaking non-Niji content creator, so she has a lot more backup) so again unlike Selen the english vtuber community won't side with her as much.

I was ready to continue working with the friends I trusted, I had made my last statement and I hadn’t looked at anything regarding my past for 3 months straight. I haven’t looked at anything regarding legal documents or anything regarding my situation since I moved back to Rica. I wanted to be hopeful for the future and never interact with that snitcher again. So to see her all come back and reopen a wound that I was ready to heal from and to have to talk to my lawyer again on how to respond.
The document mentioned was at first made to document my thoughts and history with evidence so that my lawyer could see the general picture of what was going on before and after my termination and if there were issues that should be addressed. It was first made during my darkest time mentally and I wrote everything on my mind little by little at that time. I made the document thinking that it was never going to be public to anyone but to my lawyer. Although it was a document filled with my confidential information as well as privacy information that should not be public, there were no other addresses or specific locations mentioned. Regarding a recording, this was not intended to be anything other than a distribution test for planning a collaborative event between two people, which happened to be left over from one test recording, and I never recorded any other conversations with anyone. The recording was never shown anywhere even in a legal setting and there are no other records. However, I regret that it was mentioned and I am sorry to all parties affected for the misunderstanding in this.
I requested that I just wanted to regain the trust I had lost. Sometimes I didn’t hear anything for days from the lawyers on the other side and felt like I’d be alone and isolated for a long time. It made it so hard for me mentally. On Feb 5th, my lawyer discussed and said it would be best to show the document I wrote to the other lawyers as we have not heard from them for a week or any negotiation talks or given a meeting to discuss after I requested part. It was never intended to be used for anything else, I’ve asked my lawyer to convey that and have communication that the document as it was written wasn’t going to be released anywhere, and my lawyer did so when sending the document. Less than two days after my lawyer sent the document, the termination notice came out. I was very shocked but thought that was the last time I would hear or think about the document and that this, personally and in my own opinion, was the end of the lawyers and legal involvement.
All of the communication was done between lawyers not in Japanese but also English as well. Things are not black and white and everything gets more complicated and muddled when lawyers are involved in a different country. When things are conveyed to multiple parties through different degrees of communication, everything turns into different narratives and different translations. I thought it was over and I've accepted what happened and am ready to continue working with the friends I cared dearly. Everything I posted to the public about the situation was a response. If it was a month ago, it would have been different as I was angry but I was also very alone in my head. But it's not a month ago and I've accepted it. I wanted it to be neutral and private but now the whole world is involved and the public is watching every step that happens.
I am not perfect and I have faults. I had to watch my mom Ayamy cry and break down in tears in a stream for the first time during the day I was terminated. Despite everything that has happened, please show kindness to all parties involved, there are real people behind the monitors. One of the reasons why I wanted this to be private is that the people on the other side I recently collaborated with can be cruel and deceiving and I knew this would happen the moment my end of contract dropped. What I didn't reveal to anyone and only my coworkers and management was that I wasn’t fired for being backstabbed, but I was also robbed and plagiarized because that friend who snitched on me also copied the document I made for my lawyer which is illegal, and my income that I made for the past 5 years was completely stolen from me, which happened 2 days after the termination. My friend who was in heartbroken tears after my contract had ended found me in time after searching for me for hours before anything happened. I was in a dark place and I do not wish this to anyone. No one should go through what I went through. I reveal this now not for pity but to state that no life, no matter what should be risked for ego or winning anything. There are no winners in this. Please don't make it like high school. Treat everyone like adults and with some empathy and kindness.
For those who wish to see receipts or documents or anything else, hoping I will reveal them, I'm sorry but these are the things that should be private and if needed, between lawyers. Revealing private documents and talking about the details within will only just make things worse and more complicated as outside parties get involved and will just hurt everyone. No one deserves to be pushed over the edge. So many people have been hurt and involved even if they were innocent bystanders. In the end, I will always be here to respond and that is the only thing I will do in public. I hope this will be the last statement I have to make.

Normally, I would say that assuming that Kotoka snitched simply because she was the last out of company person to interact with her on stream is ridiculous, but Mel specifically stated that her trust was broken in her statement. Kotoka and Mel were very close. They collabed numerous times, so the fact she conveniently unfollowed her on both of her accounts right as she says that is too much of a coincidence. I thought Selen's termination was the final nail in the coffin for the Nijisanji, but my goodness, if Nijisanji is responsible for robbing not just another corpo, but one of the entire industry of one of its pillars, they're definitely doomed. Good riddance. As if the trauma of nearly losing a friend and pillar of the entire community didn't already cause enough industry-wide damage and burn enough of their bridges.
If the allegations against Kotoka for getting Mel terminated are true, she will easily become the most irredeemable member of Niji in my eyes.
If Kotoka ever does do a black stream video similar to Elira, then that means that Mel has absolutely had enough, and that may confirm Kotoka ended Mel’s contract, and that her reaction to Mel’s termination is absolutely negligible.

people speculated that nijisanji was posting on her twitter account to "break her silence". however there was a japanese apostrophe, which really made people believe that anycolor was posting on her account. the japanese apostrophe is also present in the tweet that kotoka posted. however since kotoka is fluent in japanese herself im not going to jump to conclusions here and nor am i saying thar anycolor DID post on their accounts. this is just a theory iv come up with
Edit: i have just noticed thar kotoka has used this apostrophe a handful amount of times, but with the apostrophe change with selen i dont think that it is an unlikely change that management didnt do this. this is a very messy theory if its wrong dont take it seriously-

Kotoka has a very small chance of surviving alone as indie. I actually hope she doesn't attempt, because it'll be hell for a long time. Doki had all the fanbase overlap across Niji behind her and even some former Niji creators that care about her (and I'm sure Mint cares too), Sayu was all alone for about a year and it took a toll beyond what we can imagine, thing is that her vindication arrived and care for her to the point she doesn't want to be followed over it and instead be followed for herself. She also has people in Phase now that care for her enogh to collab.
Who would Kotoka have when she is known to betray people? And Elira will be in that position too. They targeted someone else at least once under (presumably) no obligation to do so and were influential on that person attempting on their life. If they have a grain of empathy they'll feel eaten by the guilt for as long as they live.
As someone said above, she could squeal and claim Niji forced her to do it. It won't stop the hostility, but would be coming clean of sorts, especially if she personally apologizes to Sayu (and Rica if she did do it). From there she'd have a while of hate and very few indies or small creators wanting to associate with her (if at all), but it'd be a good start to rebuild herself and gain trust from a community.
@@shis1988 Never trust a traitor lest they betray you too, whether she was "forced" or not the fact that she did it (if she did it) at all will be devastating for any future prospects regardless if she apologizes or not, the best course of action would be to either ignore it and not bring more attention to it (scummy behavior sure, but better than an a apology that confirms the allegations as true) or to somehow prove she had nothing to do with it, though this might be risky and has potential to burn a few bridges it will ultimately regain her a lot of her lost trust and in time people will be more likely to support her

If you told me a year ago Niji's undoing would be striking a cover MV would be their undoing, I'd have called you farfetched. But holy hell. First Doki breaking the spell and then LM, Sayu, and others basically absolving Niji's contract as flappable had obliterated Niji's hold on the EN talents seemingly. If, as Luka's case has shown, they weren't easily manipulatable in the first place.
Sayu planted the first real seeds of doubt, so let's give her credit too.

One of the main argument to protect the livers is the "Company force them to do so" but with such enthusiastic, Kotoka lost her privilege of said argument. And when Selen termination drag Zaion termination back on stage because how similar it was, Zaion was proved to be innocent, people start to look back on the most "dedicated" livers performance on her termination, Kotoka fit the bill.

I think there's a red flag hidden in one of the membership videos..... I don't know for certain what kind of red flag, but it could be something that indicated Kotoka was in contact with Mel or she knew something about Hololive that she was not meant to know. As there are back-ups of all the vids, they can't just private or shorten only one vid, so all the videos get privated to cover the tracks.
You do wonder if Nijisanji are willing to go THIS far to censor the truth, will Nijisanji look for an excuse to terminate Kotoka soon just to bury the idea of corporate espionage/sabotage so it doesn't fall back on them, rightly or wrongly.
Not impossible for a company that skinwalks on it's talents accounts when they are in the hospital, responds to private legal statements with public attacks on their character wrapped around termination letters, and has timed legal acceptance activation switches built into contract changes.
Some niji mod have hate bonner for hololive kotaka might have told someone from staff or a mod got that information and decided to do something to make troubles for holo since this happened when niji is under fire
If the Luca document is to be believed then there are at least two livers there unhappy with his behaviour and (presumably) unhappy with Nijisanji not taking action against him, now I am not saying there's correlation between liver's using their Previous\Personal Life Twitters but I am not not saying it either.

Well, I think it's very likely that Kotoka is the reason that Mel was fired, there's too many things that coincide to give it credibility. Why say there's no evidence, when the unfollowing and the recent off collab are evidence? It's at least enough to raise a big red flag. Either way, I'm over the fact that Mel was terminated, I think that Hololive didn't have to do it, and shouldn't have done it, but I'm glad to see that Rica is doing well despite that. As for Kotoka, I don't think anyone deserves to be harassed, even if they're a horrible person. If it is true that she was the one responsible, I do hope she feels guilty for that, but I ultimately want her to get the help she needs to sort out her issues, and learn from this experience.

From what i hear, Cover wanted Mel to stay but Mel left to protect the company. Something tells me Cover was so pissed they told Anycolor that they told them to take care of Kotoka or they will go after them or block their collaborations. Even A Chan when commenting on Mel said we lost a long time friend. I dont want to talk about it mucg. All i have to say is Kotaka already has a history of being fishy from her dating rumors to the Zaion firing. She always was fishy. She was the last collab with Mel too.
I swear if Kotoka releases a black stream video that destroys Mel’s reputation in Hololive before and after her termination, she is absolutely going to face the wrath of Cover for defamation and termination of contract, because she might break the contract involving subcontracting.

I might go so far as to say that it was a statement written by a new PR guy who took experience and learned from all the previous bad statements they made before. We already know that when they want to punish someone they take away all social media accounts and sometimes post a statement pretending to be the person. Scarle went silent then the first thing we get was a statement from someone else, meaning that they did not take away her social rights but did forbid her from talking. Kotoka might end up on an indefinite hiatus or gone completely from the scene. Likely she talked about something on her member stream but couldnt remember which one, so best thing management could do is to private them all to prevent someone from making clips.

The way I see it, they might be looking for the most vulnerables, those they can control and "brainwash", to feed them the idea that the company is responsible for all of their success.
You can see how broken Nina, Pomu, Selen and Zaion were when leaving the company. Doubting themselves and thinking they might be unworthy of streaming on their own as indies.
It's the main reason I don't want to hate on any of their current streamers, even Kotoka, regardless if she's truly involved in Mel's termination or not, regardless of how guilty or how much of a snake she might be, we will never know how broken the person is behind the scenes.
If Kotoka has been fired, but Luca isn't, it sounds like they may have a gender discrimination case on their hands.
