I don't know if you'll see this Cy-Yu, but Pomu reasons was because management kept rejecting her ideas and it got too much for her that she wanted out
That's true. And one of her ''once-in-lifetime'' opportunity was rejected too and that was final straw. What was about it, something related to her favorite video game series?
Possibly but that's not confirmed. Pomu never said the reason she graduated. Her being rejected to do other things was mainly based off an old membership VOD from like eight months ago.
Niji puts all their eggs in one basket with the JP branch. To me, they just see overseas branches as an experiment that if profitable, good, if not they can be written off. Literally spend the least amount of resources and management as possible on EN. Heck, they eliminated IN and folded in ID just because.
This also seems to be a common thing with jp companies in general. Same thing with e.g. Nintendo and their online playing support and things like that. Japanese companies oftentimes don't care about their overseas branches a lot
For a time I genuinely thought that with the EN side at least, it had reached the point where it was popular/profitable enough to be considered a self sustaining branch, although whether it will be for much longer is very much up in the air right now. But it does sound like its being terribly managed and those in charge only see things from a Japanese perspective.
there's an old saying: "People don't quit bad jobs, they quit bad management" and from what little insider info we have it seems like Niji has just garbage management, like they have no knowledge of how entertainment works... Also One talent had to get outside help on their taxes. QED
Another former talent was flabbergasted when her new company’s manager offer to help with marketing her new project. That’s literally what managers are suppose to do , yet she is surprised. Speaks volume on how terrible the previous company was.
@@Leonlion0305 Pretty clear they aren't managers. They're just brand with an established name. They use talent as resources and spit them out when they're done with them. Happens all the time. The WWE is a great example of another industry which was built up to unimaginable success and subsequently demolished by this kind of behavior. Their business is now specifically geared to prevent talents from "outgrowing" the business so they can keep their money-makers. They don't want another Hulk Hogan, Rock, Stone Cold, or Cena who might leave them or worse, jump ship to a competitor. So the name remains but the legacy is increasingly tarnished. And that's why talents are rarely ever allowed to keep the name and image they've spent years building up. Because they sold their very identity and gave up a huge portion of their earnings in exchange for having a wider audience. _Friendly reminder to stay indie regardless of your path in life. _*_Every_*_ field is the same: sportsmen, painters, musicians, actors, all of them._
@@LuxVertas no idea, I would rather have a rock as a manager, at least a rock doesn't actively mess things up. Their PR team is even worse with the most recent statement stating that terminating Selen has "negligible" financial result after 10% of their stock value vanished. They are seriously trying to pick a fight the entire EN VTubing community.
It's not just that. Selen said she tried to leave Niji back in late January on neutral terms, but apparently, Niji wanted none of that and just wanted to fire her and throw her under the bus. People keep going on a witch hunt because Niji's announcement said Selen said other livers were harassing her, but in her statement she just said it was a toxic work environment and there was bullying from within. She didn't mention other livers. Only Niji said she did. Until she says otherwise, I fully believe it was management that was doing it to her.
People like pointing out fingers man, they don't have much evidence they just wanna hate to hate because they have a chance, keep in mind nijisanji KNOWS 🏆(selen/doki) was getting bullied the point she attempted Unaliving herself and niji decided to FIRE her without her knowing, disgusting..
The thing that really gets to me is in the Japanese announcement it provides a bit more detail saying livers were trying to remind Selen about ToS. Which, is not their job to begin with so why would they? I understand if it's a friendship thing right, like a hey I really don't want you to get in trouble again, type of moment but outside of that the talent shouldn't be involved. It makes it seem as if they were passing on messages for management, which if the case, just highlights how messed up niji is as an org. Employees shouldn't be passing warnings off to each other, that's the mangers job.
@@gemmmmmmmm This is just a rumor that floated around, so grain of salt... Actually dump truck load of salt, but apparently it's some of the talents who are the managers... Allegedly...
@tuck234 I've heard that some of the former talents are. Mainly one of the girls from the old India branch became one. I can't really imagine that they'd let any of their current talents do double duty. Namely bc it's a liability, it creates a huge conflict of interest/power dynamic. I think the main issue here is overall company culture and it's likely that the actual talent managers are actually not the issue. I say likely bc there's a chance that Selen's manager was the source of the harassment. It's probably the middle and upper management of the talent managers plus whoever else has a hand in content approval that are the actual issue. When I interned at a Japanese company it was also those people who held up all the processes. There was this thing people had to do to get proposals approved they had to get signatures from all relevant (meaning their manager and director plus any department that could be involved) before that could even present their idea. And usually if you're told to do something you just shut up and do it and you're expected to without complaint. Which is why I wonder if managers just perpetuated a weird culture of trying to get other talents to pass messages along? Like it could be a timezone issue but they should have just put it in a slack message or email themselves.
@@gemmmmmmmm indeed. Its just a spiraling cycle failure. This is def a year that’s going to make that company plummet with how poor the leadership is amongst management. As far as Selen. I def think there was a lot of power harassment involved.
banana-hammock bullsh** pleaseeeeeeeeeee 😭😭 Nijisanji has had like.... 5 graduations within the last 3 months. The fact that they said Selen was ruining their reputation on their official notice without stating how she was ruining their reputation was stinky.
Also, they kinda put dirt on selen in English side of things. BUT THEY HELD NO REMORSE WHEN THEY GAVE THE NOTICE IN JP. Ziaon treatment but was replicated in JP. They somehow had the brain cells to not to put that info in English.( Also it might be illegal to do so, idk)
@@justlazy_here In February 2022 Uruha Rushia got terminated from Hololive because she leaked confidential DMs to try and prove she wasn't dating her then husband Mafumafu (both of them have very parasocial fans so the possibility of them dating was not perceived well) In January 2023 Amano Pikamee got harassed relentlessly on Twitter for saying she was interested in playing Hogwarts Legacy, and in February she announced her graduation from Voms (which she was considering already, but that was the final push)
I feel like Niji is at the point where if Vox, Elira, Luca, or Finana leave...that's it. They are just dead dead. The whole stuff with Selen was a brutal blow that might trigger that last departure. I used to really enjoy Nijisanji EN stuff. But now I just avoid outside of some clips. The fact they continuously stonewalled someone as passionate and driven as Selen just tells you a lot about how management thinks in that company...
I'm to the point where if even 1 more of my favorite livers leave, I'm entirely ditching everything. Elira, Enna, Luca, Fulgur, Doppio, or Kunai. Kyo was almost the last straw, and I'm ready to jump ship at any moment.
The best EN girl livers left there are Enna, Millie, Scarle, Rosemi and Elira. Finana is also one of their big ones and I know there a bit dumb but i hope they also leave
as someones whos been around before any EN debuts, its really disappointing to see this all happening The way jp is treated must be quite different to how EN is treated and managed, with how many people have stayed on with niji JP But from the mistreatment of the other brands outside of en and jp, and now all this, i just don’t know
Voice acting is literally your thing. That's heckin wild that they wouldn't let you do both. Even Hololive lets their talents do voice and art work for games and anime.
The trend I’m seeing is talents are leaving niji either because they are way too restrictive in content creation (a literal chokehold on creativity) and poor management (miscommunication, constant rejection, bullying/neglect, etc.). The icing on the pile of shit is that niji PR consistently drags their talents through the mud any time they “go against” the company. The only ones truly plummeting niji’s rep is their own PR team.
Imagine if the left over NijiEN talents play Lethal Company and said “this is literally just us rn lol” when they don’t meet quota and get sucked into the void
Man, and looking back at their debuts, a lot of them wanted to venture outside of just streaming. They wanted VA work, music production, etc. etc. The ones who are living a new life are thriving and are actually meeting those goals compared to when they were in 2434.
I'm glad CY YU called it out, Nijisanji (ANYCOLOR) is a Japanese company. How companies operate and govern in Asian countries is VERY different than in NA and Europe. The business mentalities are often like oil and water and so are the views on business etiquette, ethics and workplace harassment. In so many Asian countries they are used to being over worked, under paid, and subjected to passive aggressive speech and behavior. It's clear EN should not be managed out of JP and they should hire people that have international business experience and not just Japanese people with Japanese mindsights to manage non-Japanese people. Branches in different regions should have their own different distinct operating branches. I'm sure Niji can afford to open a small branch in either Europe, Canada, or US. I think a lot of it is a culture clash between business ideologies and management capabilities of livers outside of JP. But getting a company such as Niji to admit their wrong doings and incompetency won't happen. To fix what's wrong, you have to acknowledge the issue and since they won't, who knows if it will get better.
It's funny that you mention that, but before the merger, Nijisanji ID did have a branch in Jakarta. From what I remember, it was a mixture of Indonesian and Japanese staff. At the time, Niji seemed pretty proud of the branch because they invited the popular Indonesian youtuber Nihongo Mantappu to tour the office. It's a pretty interesting video so I would recommend watching it to find out more. Overall, I can't say how much the branch office helped with the business managment side of things but at least to me it seemed to help with relations between talent and staff. I believe all the staff directly involved with the talent were Indonesian (someone correct me if I'm wrong, this was a while ago). The staff would often joke and banter with the talent on Twitter and the staff even got a dakimakura. When the ID branch was closed and all the ID managers were fired, things really started to go down hill for the talents. In relation to your comment, I think this example of the ID branch shows that you are correct in saying that having a physical branch with people who are familiar with Western work culture and norms would have been incredibly benefical for the talents, even if it was just to help with relations between management and talents.
@@Beerbottles123 Yea honestly. Cause japan has a very big very bad overworking issue in their country and they should change it. They have a forest dedicated to people "punching themselves out" so to speak and i'm willing to believe a good portion of it is from the human brain CAVING from all that work they're having to put in.
@@annisabi988Considering Indonesia work culture is very different from Japanese, I can confirm you're on point. Indonesia work culture isn't perfect, but it's nowhere as bad as Japanese.
wow i wasn’t expecting Cy-Yu to talk about this, it’s a pleasant surprise, if more people talk about the problem then maybe, hopefully things will get better :/
Words without action is just spit on paper. If you want Niji to change then hit them where it hurts. No, not boycotting their streamers, they don't get a cut of it anyway(no seriously, they're paid flat salaries, and the SC and membership gifts go directly straight to the suits). No, if you want to hurt them, boycott their products. Don't buy merch, don't buy voice packs, don't spend money on their physical bullshit. Spread this over to the JP side as well, tell them to not do that. That will be what hurts them.
@@janematthews9087 that sounds like its gonna be a challenge, with the amount of times ive seen the nijisanji shops here in osaka crowded with fans (mostly girls who are looking for cute merch)
It's still wild to me that Niji wanted you to quit Voice Over if you signed up with them, it's as you said. You can, and HAVE balanced out VA and Vtubing.
Hearing about this now almost makes me wonder if that's what Pomu was talking about in that really emotional clip of them stopping her from doing something. At first I assumed it was some kind of collab with a Holo concert, but now I wonder if it was denying her from voice acting in something.
tbh I wouldn't be as mad if Niji just left a short termination notice that Selen breached the contract with not getting perms and left it at that, but they really felt the need to blame her for their 'irreperable image' and paint her as a bad guy. on top of the fact that Selen was trying to leave on neutral terms but they pulled the trigger anyway...
100% agree. I really feel for Dokibird (Selen) because holy hell - what she went through was reprehensible. And outside of Finana and occasionally Scarle, I really don't feel compelled to watch any of their talent anymore (even if it isn't necessarily their fault).
@@whatsuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu I hate the crap Millie’s currently getting based on the “ambiguous nameless live talent” Niji implied bullied Selen to the point she was hospitalized… especially when Selen didn’t say or even imply it was the other vTubers.
@@annaairahala9462 Selen and the NijiEN managers have had issues for months. The final straw was over her managers privating her “Last Cup of Coffee” video for TL:DR reasons. Led to Selen being “quietly” suspended without word to her audience, and she just disappeared. Also led bullying by what Niji management implied was “the live talent”, although it was likely the management themselves. It led to Selen eventually being hospitalized for reasons you can look up yourself. Then, while she was hospitalized, they terminated her contract… and she had to find out about her firing through her followers directing her to the tweet. Plus a whole lot of other TL:DR stuff.
It sounds like it's about CONTROL. They set up contracts so that they don't just own the intellectual property, they own the person and treat them like property. Whenever someone is like "rules are rules" and "contracts need to be enforced", I'm like, a human wrote that contract and chose what to put in it. If that person writes contracts in a way that gives them unfair power over the lives of others, they're aren't good, no matter who they wrangled into signing it. Even if it is their legal right, if we decide they are morally wrong, we as a fanbase have the ability to show them their disregard for human life has financial repercussions.
Mika Mysta, pomu, kyo, Nina had stated how awful it was Selen wasn’t but she has confirmed how Management removes stuff she makes that is safe Others have to recently talked about stuff (related to the work) Ren
Selen (Doki) did reveal a bit about how awful her time there was. She admitted that part of the reason she was gone recently, was because she "made an attempt". Thankfully, she didn't succeed, and is still with us.
Tbh i used to rejected those truth and try my best to look from the positive side but yeah i am going to face the truth Also it all started when yugo quit and started shambling, mysta quit and it is starting to go down what if mysta didn't quit would he still be suffering?
I made a similar comment on twitter. But I swear Niji sounds like they just want to legallly own you when you work for them. With my little understanding of the Vtuber world. Thats fucked.
Yea voicepacks are a big part of the vtuber merch so they probably want exclusive rights. However a more cynical part of me want to say they want to cut talents off from other source of profits so they can better control them. Harder to leave when your are financially dependent on them.
So niji really owns your public existence if you sign with them holyhell those mfs really saying "You can't oratrice mecanique d'analyse cardinale, after joining"
9:05 It's not about recognizing your voice, it's about controlling what you do. They will only allow voice acting roles if it's done with their approval, under an identity they control, and you having your career and connections means that you're not fully under their thumb. You can contrast this with Nijisanji's most prominent competitors, Hololive and VShojo, who would not have had any issue with you balancing a separate careers like you visualized, though they would worry about your health.
Yep, we see so many VAs in Holo’s and VShojo roster of talent…. you cannot treat creative industries as you do Japanese salarymen, that’s how you kill your company.
after the tragic shit that happened with dokibird, it makes me not even wanna watch the talents anymore to avoid giving niji any more money. I've been a huge niji liver watcher for the past 2 years and i love so many of the talents but they don't deserve to be literally held at the will of a company that does not give a shit about them whatsoever and would rather throw their talents under the bus in selen's termination letter than hold themselves accountable at all. for their sakes, i hope we see an even more massive wage of graduations very soon since now it's apparent that when they leave and go indie their fanbases will follow
From what I gathered from all the Selen drama, after she got all the rights to release the music video and finally finished niji then decided to axe it although we dont know why yet. One of the commissioned creators involved also said that Selen the one paying them out of her own pocket money because to company had yet to pay them months later. As for why she went to the hospital, supposedly was because of an attempt due to pent up stress, bullying, and harassment inside to company leading to her breaking point. She will be re debuting on her old vtuber model, aka dokibird, on Feb 7, show her some love!
I actually almost did an interview for Nijisanji, man do I feel like I dodged a bullet. I still think I might have to (different companies) for money reasons, but I’m definitely going to do way more research on companies and stuff..
Wait was that the one in a lifetime opportunity!? I could've been that Pomu got the chance to VA in something, that would explain a lot (not justify but explain)
it was mentioned on her removed vid (membership only which clip was from got privated by niji management hours after) that she might had metal gear solid (her fav series) collab due to them having some kind of anniversary and management said straight no with no way to negotiate
@@VeritankyI thought it would’ve been that when calli announced she had a collab with them. I was like “not pomu??” But I don’t watch calli so idk if she’s a huge fan like pomu but one of pomu’s personality traits is that she loves mgs
I do remember CyYu talking about auditioning for Niji once upon a time... and I'm so glad he decided not to sign nor go along with them because he's SOOOOOOOO much better without them. Oh, how Niji has fallen so hard 💀 it went from one plane crash to another. I wonder how many more mess-ups they'll be doing before theyre forced to shut down as a company or something, but at the same time - considering their JP and maybe some more supporters - they won't be stopping nor improving any time soon. I still hope they do, but so far they've REALLY blew it for me.
I don't follow to many VTubers but I often hear Nijisanji and Graduation in the same sentence far too much it's not even a joke. I worry for their 'talents' as I heard about Selen's(?) Christmas video being put on private because 'she did not get the proper permissions.'. I follow a few UA-camrs who live/work in Japan and I've come to understand that their work culture is... Backwards? Outdated? Out of Touch? Bureaucratic? Complicated. It's very different from the US/West so that alone can be a tough obstacle to overcome for a lot of people. Like Cyyu says, it's not for everyone.
Remember that you can still try to be humane, hololive has strict rules, but they still have good managers for their talents and while they were having some mistakes here and there, they are now very serious about taking rests and mental health. Something Nijisanji doesn't care about even a little. If you die, they will be sad about the money not being earned anymore, nothing else.
@@Khazar321 Sad, and seems to be true. Been seeing some videos pop up with updates about Dokibird. Might give her a watch, TBH i like the rigging part of it all. XD
I'm glad the algorithm put this in front of me - I really only encountered Cy when he's shouting at Monarch, had no clue he'd be this interesting to just listen to.
…Cy. You dodged a real bullet not joining Niji. What they just forced/put three of their talents up to is borderline illegal. …godspeed and stay safe mate…
I'm just gonna say this, every Niji member needs to leave and go indie while they still have the time. It's clear this company is not a good one to sign with.
They're paid salaries over there. They have job security, the problem is the viper's pit that the workplace turned into. I strongly assume that management is worse than incompetent, their actively malicious. Have you read the statement they released? They actively threw EVERYONE under the bus, livers "reporting" Selen as hard to work with. Yeah, sure. It feels like NijiEN management is the IRL equivalent of a reddit/discord mod having power and doesn't have the mental maturity to be responsible with it.
only the ones with a big enough following and connections can do that, if the smaller and newer livers had to pay out of pocket for a model and a debut then they're stuck in niji and are possibly in debt
So much respect for you for addressing these topics with their audience. Using your platform for GOOD, sharing opinions and information. Damn I love you man, every day you prove how awesome you are.
I really like how he worded and explained everything... I totally agree that circumstances are different for each person and though freelance works for some, it doesn't work for everyone... we are all just trying to make it and survive and like CyYu said wish everyone all the best in their chosen path ❤
8:48 that sounds like how Korea agencies manage their talent (idols and a tors I think) and Japan probably works that way too. The management company controls every aspect of their career and often times that includes their daily life.
I would argue that Amazon Prime Hazbin has only been this successful BECAUSE of how successful her freelance work had already been. There was a dedicated fanbase that has been watching that pot boil for like 5 or more years.
I was already so sad by learning about Kyo graduating, and now today, I learned that Selen, The best gamer for me. Is gone. Without any graduation warning or anything. Just gone. I kinda regret learning about vtubers for the first time in Niji.
There's something deeply amusing (to me) that Cy-yu, a prominent and successful VA and Vtuber, could have made a teensy mistake and got his entire shit locked up with Nijisanji. But now he's free to be his own super successful self!
I love Doppi too ( I knew him in past life) I was so happy for him when he debut but now I just hope he is okay, I don't know how to support him without supporting Niji😢
Once my favorite vtuber corp to binge, no more. Of course, it's the talents themselves that I care about, so when the train of graduations/terminations showed no sign of stopping, my last straw pretty much left & so did my motivation to watch the livers, knowing its was now a Nijisanji inevitability. I can never look at the corp the same way anymore. Graduations in general are now forever a good thing moving forward, since the livers are free to do what they want to do should they continue their streaming career as indies like Dokibird or with other orgs like Matara & K9. Should Nijisanji continue with their talent misconduct, they deserve the darkest, deepest place in the ocean floor for their transgressions
this!!! within a week or two i’ve gone from being heartbroken about niji talents graduating to being genuinely happy for them. the niji talents deserve the best in their endeavors and nijisanji have made it crystal clear that that won’t be happening with them
The Freelance talk towards the end really means a lot, Been a freelance musician off and on for a few years and shits tough sometimes. But if you love your craft, you keep going and stay positive, things will get better! just takes time. Also Niji...do better
This is why full-time contracting for one company doesn't work. You aren't protected from harassment, they can pay you below minimum wage, and if you don't like it, they can just get rid of you without warning or cause. Oh, and they have literally no obligation to do your tax withholding, so you'll probably have to pay self-employment tax on top of not getting paid enough. If a company offers you what is basically a full-time job but won't give you a W-2, that is a super red flag.
I feel like a lot of these companies rely on preying over people's ignorance and keeping the details obfuscated, I appreciate Cy being so candid and exposing the truth of the experiences without having any grudge or vendetta
You dodged a huge bullet there. I’m not into Vtubers much beside a few, but from what i’ve seen, Vshojo and Hololive are definitely much better since they lack a lot less drama. Niji seem to want to have complete control of you. The livers have every right to leave. and the sad part is, I highly doubt the smaller streamers can leave without struggling and maybe even going into dept. I genuinely hope the innocent livers don’t get attacked for this tbh, hope the best for everyone involved in this.
When you said Mixer.. that hit me where it hurt.. I had 20k followers and then oh we are closing down. I now work at a Ford dealership making 5x what I used to stream. I do miss Mixer.. heck I still have the app that redirects me to facebook. I still have the “UA-cam voice” debating on vtubing to get back into the streaming stuff as freelance. I don’t care about making a buck. I just miss that mindset.
The motivation lil talk you gave encourages me to keep trying to be a part-time digital art freelancer. First gotta get over my trauma, pick up that pen and take small steps to get back i to drawing. Cause I dearly miss it ❤
@@t3arki113ryeah, that's true. It's happened before when Ziaon was terminated without management informing her. Same thing but it has happened to Selen.
She found out with the rest of us. They nuked her twitter and youtube minutes before posting that termination notice as well to prevent archival of her content. Truly a scumbag fucking company.
Say what you want about Hololive, but Calli has gotten to do music and even live concerts as Dice. She even released a new EP and merch. It's WILD to control what talents do outside of their VTubing career. (Also remember Dice has told us we're allowed to talk about it outside of her professional spaces before you jump on me)
Yeah, there are quite a lot of Holomems who are still active outside of Hololive. AZKi, for example, is also in the same situatiom as Calli, she also does music outside of Hololive, and in her case, she's actually even more active outside of the company, last year alone she participated in about 70 songs (not counting covers), she also performs live, etc. Also, a song from 2008, for which she was a lyricist and the original vocalist, was covered by Gura and Calli during the Hololive Summer live last year, which was something unexpected. So, the impression I have is that Hololive doesn't mind what they do with other identities, even if their activities can challenge the boundaries between their different identities and lead to a connection between them, unless they break a NDA or something.
@@Nathan-nk2wk It's not an impression because Hololive just doesn't give a fuck. As long as you fulfill your job as a Hololive member, you can do anything you want outside Hololive if you have the time. Lots of Hololive member has side jobs, Noel, Choco, Ina, Kiara etc...
The reason why I feel like Niji asked for Cy yu to quit voice acting is because JP companies are so BEYOND TERRITORIAL WITH ANYONE WHO WORKS FOR THEM. It’s less of treat their employees as humans and treat employees as property cogs. This is due to work culture in Japan. Nijisanji is trying to carry this over to overseas. Which they actively can’t do, and Nijisanji instead of accepting that not everything is as unfair in Japan. Which is shooting themselves in the foot and keeping their eyes close.
during you whole talk about Nijisanji I was listening yes but everytime an new side of your vtuber character showed my jaw was open and it actually keep my adhd focus on the coverstantion and on the topic in so many ways
This is honestly so fckin sad. I just want all the livers to quit and go indie if they rlly want to continue. I dont want them to suffer with management any longer. Do. Better. Niji.
This whole thing was foreshadowed when Yugo got everything deleted for no clear reason and they framed it as a "graduation" All of the hidden messy management is finally coming to light on the En side
Technically corpos treat VTuber talents as free lancers in their line of work. Minus the fact that some like Niji don't want you to work other jobs and such despite still treating you like a freelancer and not on payroll as a full time employee
now Asmongold, Charlie and other guy got onto this. This drama has breached from weeb vtuber community into the general gaming community. Good job Niji.
One would think Anycolor requiring you to cease your vtuber side activities is reasonable enough but genuinely expecting you to quit your professional voice acting career is objectively psychotic.
My opinion: Imagine going to sleep feeling unsure about you even having a job the next day?… Horrifying! I see why they might not get good sleep because they might be scared about not having a job the next day. 💔😞
Just being real, glad he didn't go into Niji and I feel bad for the folks in Niji. Like from the outside it just looks like they are not a good place to be.
This. I know the boss’s mental fortitude is really tough, but after losing two people that he explicitly said that he respects so much, I really won’t blame him if this is it for him. Not even mentioning the bullying allegations from an undisclosed liver. Too many stuff happening
Tbh, I'm on the same boat but staying for Fulgur... But I still very much hate what the company itself is doing and how awfully they treat their livers. I got into the whole vtuber scene due to nijicancelled collabs
15:15 I'm currently freelancing as a Game Dev and the words hits me straight through. Money is somewhat not a problem right now, thankfully, but it is still a mental uphill struggle since I'm working on my own.
Funny thing is, Holopro is the idol company, not Nijisanji. Niji specifically uses "livers" to refer to their streamers to emphasize that they are not an idol company.
I think thats kinda where Vshojo honestly has it lets you keep your ip and who you are, the other companies they take everything that made you who you are back without a care in the world than they just shove someoother person into the model and channel and be like here ya go.
Okay so my opinions as a niji fan: you are absofuckinglutely right. What's been happening is awful and they've ruined themselves by terminating Selen. I'm so so so scared and sad rn knowing my oshis are being treated badly and will probably leave soon. I'm not ready to say goodbye. I hope niji somehow fixes this but I don't think they will.
The JP culture different than EN culture, In EN sphere an actor can have multiple agencies. Agency for sponsor, voice actor, movie, seminar. It's not uncommon for a person to be affiliated with multiple agencies. In JP culture they seem want to control all of it.
This is all just to reinforce: Please listen to talents first and the company second. Doki has not said livers bullied her, don't start a witch hunt. Consider a corporation would only ever say such a thing either from incompetence or malice. They clearly are not bothered by the idea of you harassing talents. I heard a theory that they're so quick to throw the other livers under the bus for bullying, cause then they can just say the west is toxic anti when they pull out. Basically that they know shit has hit the fan and they'd rather keep their reputation in Japan than try to salvage it.
I really think it's time for the entire community to cut off Nijisanji. Stop supporting them and their talents. Don't harass talents, but also don't support them. It's impossible to support the talents that stay with Niji and not support Niji, too.
Also Nijisanji posting the Merch announcement after Selene's Termination is very disrespectful And now the "fans" are pointing on Millie because they said she is one of the people who bullied Selene (even though DokiBird didnt really said anything yet) like bruh, stop pointing fingers without strong evidences or proof
Something I've said a lot over the years, a bad job doesn't require fixing. Just leave the bad job. I wish the best for the good talents that choose to stay.
@@WaifuMaster17 I think so

Not just rejecting, she got big fat NO with no chance to discuss why no or what she can do to be approved.
Wow!!
@@zaleost yeah, me too...
Don't forget the KR branch. That is gone as well

That’s literally what managers are suppose to do , yet she is surprised. Speaks volume on how terrible the previous company was.
@@Leonlion0305 Where do they get these "managers"? Long defunct supermarkets?

@@LuxVertas Apparently/Allegedly, 1 manager is for 10 talents which is insane to think about.

Like Doki or Matara Kan.
In relation to your comment, I think this example of the ID branch shows that you are correct in saying that having a physical branch with people who are familiar with Western work culture and norms would have been incredibly benefical for the talents, even if it was just to help with relations between management and talents.

and the sad part is, I highly doubt the smaller streamers can leave without struggling and maybe even going into dept. I genuinely hope the innocent livers don’t get attacked for this tbh, hope the best for everyone involved in this.
More dodging a nuke!
Mixer rose and died so fast!
And now a real lawyer (Legal Mindset) is discussing the Nijisanji situation with FalseEyeD and rimaevenstar.
The motivation lil talk you gave encourages me to keep trying to be a part-time digital art freelancer. First gotta get over my trauma, pick up that pen and take small steps to get back i to drawing. Cause I dearly miss it ❤
Wait... they didn't tell her that she was gonna get terminated? They were like "Hey, you're terminated from NijiEN" 🤨😱 I am so confused
nope, she learned she was fired when we learned of it on that twitter post, I believe.
@@t3arki113ryeah, that's true. It's happened before when Ziaon was terminated without management informing her.
Same thing but it has happened to Selen.
It was more like her overhearing them shout at the masses "fuck selen she's a liar"
She found out with the rest of us. They nuked her twitter and youtube minutes before posting that termination notice as well to prevent archival of her content. Truly a scumbag fucking company.
They also revoked access to her twitter accounts and youtube so she couldn't even use them
Say what you want about Hololive, but Calli has gotten to do music and even live concerts as Dice.
I am happy that Doki is thriving!
Thanks for clipping and putting this important segment up to make it easy to find. It's important as many as people as possible hear this
bros gonna need a follow up
I do not think he will make one, since this is not a drama / news channel.
Bro didn't doge a bullet bro doged a nuke
Indeed!
Crazy control.
Gonna be honest, really dodged a bullet by turning Nijisanji down.
More like dodging a nuke!
Have you seen a song kinda summarizing what Niji en had done, the song if called-sinking yacht but sung by riku tazumi
during you whole talk about Nijisanji I was listening yes but everytime an new side of your vtuber character showed my jaw was open and it actually keep my adhd focus on the coverstantion and on the topic in so many ways
Always remember hard work alone is not enough you have to also have luck.
A bunch of luck!
This is honestly so fckin sad. I just want all the livers to quit and go indie if they rlly want to continue. I dont want them to suffer with management any longer. Do. Better. Niji.
nijisanji be putting more fuel to the fire, i feel like 2024 will be about vtubers graduating
This whole thing was foreshadowed when Yugo got everything deleted for no clear reason and they framed it as a "graduation" All of the hidden messy management is finally coming to light on the En side
How good was Yugo?
Narrator: They didn't do better.
And made things worse.
They just poured gasoline over an open fire 💀💀
Technically corpos treat VTuber talents as free lancers in their line of work. Minus the fact that some like Niji don't want you to work other jobs and such despite still treating you like a freelancer and not on payroll as a full time employee
I really wish it was a good company bc they have such entertaining and cool talents 😭
Thanks for speaking up about this babu. More people needs to know because this is a serious issue. This is beyond vtube drama.
Oh god even cyyu got on this
Indeed, that is crazy!
now Asmongold, Charlie and other guy got onto this. This drama has breached from weeb vtuber community into the general gaming community. Good job Niji.
@@fernandozavaletabustos205 frrr,it’s everywhere now
I interviewed for Niji around a year ago. I also got the ick. I’m so glad I said no. 😮
You dodged a Bullet Bill.
One would think Anycolor requiring you to cease your vtuber side activities is reasonable enough but genuinely expecting you to quit your professional voice acting career is objectively psychotic.
Specially since success is not guaranteed!
I hope Reimu, Scarle and Rosemi graduate and either thrive being indeoendent, or find a much better agency.
This video deserves more views and likes!
Yeah!
My opinion: Imagine going to sleep feeling unsure about you even having a job the next day?… Horrifying! I see why they might not get good sleep because they might be scared about not having a job the next day. 💔😞
A scary thought indeed!
at this point im just waiting for Niji to go down 😭
Fr
Just being real, glad he didn't go into Niji and I feel bad for the folks in Niji. Like from the outside it just looks like they are not a good place to be.
He really dodged a bullet.
I got into niji through Luxiem, and now I’m seriously just staying for Luca. Once he leaves, so do I. Niji is way worse than I thought. Do better.
Yeah as a lucub, as soon as he leaves I'm gone too.
If Luca leaves, then that really shows how bad niji turned out to be
This. I know the boss’s mental fortitude is really tough, but after losing two people that he explicitly said that he respects so much, I really won’t blame him if this is it for him.
Not even mentioning the bullying allegations from an undisclosed liver. Too many stuff happening
For me i think it would be enna but it still sad to see them go
Tbh, I'm on the same boat but staying for Fulgur...
Thank you for speaking out!
He will be always be on the side of the artists!
Funny thing is, Holopro is the idol company, not Nijisanji. Niji specifically uses "livers" to refer to their streamers to emphasize that they are not an idol company.
I heard this live and was talking about it with a friend during the live who was also watching and we're both glad you didn't join Niji.
14:50 - 15:31 Well said Cyyu
Yup!
I think thats kinda where Vshojo honestly has it lets you keep your ip and who you are, the other companies they take everything that made you who you are back without a care in the world than they just shove someoother person into the model and channel and be like here ya go.
Seems like a healthier work relationship.
Great vid!
Yeah!
Indeed!
Show loyalty to your people and they’ll show it to you back if they’re good people
I would love,no, i would PAY to see you and monarch collab with dokibird, pretty 🙏plz
Many people would!
I was just watching a video about Iwata. That man was a legend.
Doki's recent livesrram was really interesting.
I really think it's time for the entire community to cut off Nijisanji. Stop supporting them and their talents. Don't harass talents, but also don't support them. It's impossible to support the talents that stay with Niji and not support Niji, too.
Many want to support their oshis tho ... I think the fans collectively need to decide how to convince the livers to leave.
And Doki and some other ex-Nijisanji Vtubers are having the sucess they deseve!
Also Nijisanji posting the Merch announcement after Selene's Termination is very disrespectful
And now the "fans" are pointing on Millie because they said she is one of the people who bullied Selene (even though DokiBird didnt really said anything yet) like bruh, stop pointing fingers without strong evidences or proof
Something I've said a lot over the years, a bad job doesn't require fixing. Just leave the bad job. I wish the best for the good talents that choose to stay.
Thank you Cy Yu
Yeah!!
