One thing I love about your patterns is that even after decades of experience crocheting, you are able (and willing) to continue creating new patterns that are easy to follow and complete, yet still so beautiful!
This is gorgeous. I write down the pattern in my own way on large recipe cards and I will have to make a note for myself not to freak when I am not keeping the posts lined up! And if I scare myself I can always get back to this video to calm down! You are a marvelous teacher!
I like your idea of using recipe cards for writing down directions in your own words.I do the same thing but am switching to recipe( or whatever I can find ) cards.❤😊
This is beautiful, and I knew I had to make it right away. The only 4weight I had in a solid was the Red Heart Super Saver in Dark Orchid. I got started, but after I got to row 5, I realized that the pattern got lost in the dark color. This really needs to be done in a light color to stand out. So I just frogged it, and I know I will be making a trip to Joann’s tomorrow’s. ❤❤❤
Oh wow! I’m going to have to break my vow of No New Wips!! This is really just too beautiful to put on the back burner … especially since Crystal was thoughtful enough to include baby blanket specs in the description box. THANK YOU, Crystal!!! ❤ As always, you’re the best!
Same here- re: wips. I couldn’t resist this one…. Put all the others down. I made a sample- love it! She was right, I memorized it in no time. Now I need yarn and I’m on my way!!!
BEAUTIFUL!!!! You say your stuff is easy. You LOVE cables. I can't imagine doing it... Which is why I am watching this. Lol. Crystal, I love your patterns. And I LOVE your way of showing us how to do your patterns.
This is so very pretty. I have been crocheting 40 years but I’ve learned so much from your tutorials! I’m gonna try this one only because u are the teacher. Wish me luck!!!
Whelp if my grandma were alive she would be so fricken proud of me for getting this pattern going! I’m on the second set of repeats and the pattern is just stunning and (most amazing) I’m able to follow your instructions!! Yes I have had to pull out a row or two but nbd it is worth the effort. Your voice is very reassuring (you sound like my aunt Mary) which is really helping. Thank you!
This is very, very pretty, Crystal. I know I'll need to watch the video again to figure out the beginning and ending of each row but....I'm gonna give it a try. Thank you!
This is one of the most beautiful patterns for an Afghan rug that I have seen in a very long time. THANKYOU so much for a fantastic tutorial and so easily and clearly explained ❤❤❤
What do I love more -- the encouragement and super support that we can make this or your explicit and detailed instructions that give every bit of info we could need or want⁉️⁉️⁉️ Thank you, Crystal, for both. I'm a fan!
So beautiful! Since I have a few big projects already waiting, I think I’ll make a scarf with this when I need a break from the bigger projects! Thank you for this! 💜
I started this one last night. I'm using Caron Simply Soft in the color "Bone". It is soooooo much easier than I thought it was going to be! Thank you for figuring this one out for us!❤
I am an absolute beginner and I have managed to crochet row one to eight starting with 28 chain stiches as I was doing it for practice. The only thing I am going to change for my real project (a large throw blanket) is using medium weight yarn rather than bulky or super bulky. I used a bulky yarn and it was too heavy for my liking but still very beautiful. Thank you very much! May God bless you. UPDATE: I started the project with 324+4 chains😂😱. I think I over estimated my abilities. I have just completed the sixth row and I am exhausted! I will not give up though. Even if it takes me a whole year to finish😂 UPDATE: I have made a couple more rows and gotten to the point where I can figure out what post and how many I should start with, with each new row. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 UPDATE 4th Dec 2024: I got the hang of things. Now I am doing between 3 and 4 rows a day though there was a 3 week period when I didn't touch the project because I was swamped with work. I am over 100 rows mark and lemme tell you, the blanket looks stunning already. I wish there was away I could post a picture here and encourage other beginners to take up the project. I am so proud of myself. I will post another update in a month's time.💪
That’s awesome! Good for you, git er dun! Put some movies and shows on, to distract you with such a large project 😂 and a blanket doesn’t have to be perfect either, it’ll still work as a blanket.
Beautiful project and pattern! For those making, make sure you double check each row at the beginning before the repeat and again at the end after the repeat to make sure you are falling on the correct stitches. If you're off, chances are somewhere in the row you did 2 or 4 instead of 3, and it's pretty easy to find! It also helps to make sure that, while you're repeating, you're not stacking on top of the previous row, and that you are having one of the three stitches falling on the opposite type, for example, one of your front loop stitches should fall on a back loop of the previous row. That way you don't have to always keep counting three the whole time, or making sure you're not increasing or decreasing
I just started crocheting. I did a full size blanket for my first project. I just love this project and you are an excellent teacher I'm starting this now for my 2nd project. Thank you for the inspiration and encouragement
This is alot of fun to make. Doing mine in Supersaver Ombre Anthracite and I have to say WOW. This yarn was made for this blanket. I will post a pic on FB once complete.
Crystal, this is a gorgeous pattern, and you are an awesome teacher. I really appreciate the slower pace you use, making the pattern so much easier to understand and follow. Thank you. 😊❤
Congratulations on your beautiful red cardigan and your photo wearing it, being featured with kit being sold in the new Mary Maxim catalog❣️🩷🩷🩷 Your blanket is lovely❣️
I made this one in a Gold color and gifted to my mother in law for her birthday! She LOVED it! ❤️ I am thinking of making one for myself 😁 Thank you for you easy explanation and patience, you are such a great teacher! 🙏🏼
Beautiful!! I'm making a blanket for my local golf course, for a raffle but when I'm done I'll be making baby blankets to donate to Plunket here in NZ and this will be the first one!!! It's beautiful!!❤ 😍😍
Hi Crystal, WOW, THIS IS STUNNING. YOU ARE A REMARKABLE CREATORE. Thanks for the tutorial. I needed something for my nephew to make, and now I found it. Thanks so much for who you are and for being such a giver. Hugs, sweetie. Donna 💙 💙💙💙💙
I love this pattern , there are so many things i can make with this ,first item will be a top make with 3 ply yarn so it wont be too heavy , i have the stitch count worked out already , i have 2 repeats done 14 rows and its looking so good cant wait to get it done and wear it. Thank you for your wonderful instructions so easy to follow you
Hey Crystal, you are awesome for sharing your patterns & knowledge for free. This blanket works up so beautifully. Thanks for sharing. Instructions are so clear to follow.
I made this blanket with a six count of post stitches done by another creator with a bulky yarn. It came out beautifully but I have to say I love it much better with a 3 count. As usual crystal, beautiful job. I think I’ll whip one out.
Crystal, you have outdone yourself! The throw is absolutely heavenly. And so easy. I pattern follow, so it will be a breeze for me. Now I'm tied which to make first, the Victorian cable you have, or this one with the Mary Maxim Woodlands in plum. I have a white Nako also from Mary Maxim(a steal). Tough decision, but I have a while, it's still summer here in Texas.
I have made a few pillows in this stitch. One of my projects I'm most proud of. I may have to make a blanket this year! Thank you for this beautiful tutorial! ❤
Thank you for this tutorial, Crystal, I like your videos so much. I have made a small swatch and it turned out so gorgeous, I have to do this blanket. I prefer a chainless foundation row, greetings
Hi Crystal! I just found this tutorial! Wow! love it! I have 4 skeins Caron One Pound in Claret and I've been searching for a great pattern, well looks like I found it! Thank you for the cool tutorial !
Good tip about not freaking out if the posts don’t line up- I would be frogging like crazy and you just saved me from that. This is beautiful Crystal -I’m going to start this in January- too many WIPs in progress right now 😅
So pretty. It looks like a diagonal basket weave to me...nice and squishy🥰. Seems like it would be a nice pattern for comfort or prayer shawls or lapghans. This could be a nice masculine pattern crocheted in grey (darker colors might lose the definition of the stitches). Thanks for sharing your talent...always gives me pause to think. 🤗
Crystal thank you for this pattern it is easy even with the 6 row repeats 😊I’m testing it out with a scarf first and then a blanket and a washcloth 😊😊I’ll post it when I’m almost done just to show you how it looks 😊😊😊😊
Absolutely gorgeous....love the look. Now need to find time to do this one too. You make me push myself more and more with all your beautiful tutorials.
I made this blanket and I absolutely love it!!! I am planning to make another one soon, but am thinking about using ombre yarn this time. I think it will be beautiful!
Looks great I like it in the solid all one color But I’m curious to see what it would look like maybe in Tweed or freckle yarn. Thank you Crystal for introducing this to us
Love, love this idea of diagonal cables, and that soft white you made has a really cozy look to it, great naptime throw! I am thinking this patter will be just awesome with the Caron Halo phasing yarn🤩
Baby Blanket Size Approx 32" x 40"
Approx 2100 Yards or 1920M of 4 weight yarn 6.00mm Hook
Chain 106
Repeat the pattern for approx 90 rows or 40"
Crystal, you’re amazing!! Thank you for sharing your talent ❤️
I love this one!
Crystal, thanks for the extra details for making this in a baby blanket size! That’s so helpful!
Hi Crystal I love this pattern but can I use a thinner weight yarn?
Can I use a 6 weight yarn
One thing I love about your patterns is that even after decades of experience crocheting, you are able (and willing) to continue creating new patterns that are easy to follow and complete, yet still so beautiful!
I agree. She is brilliant. And a great teacher. Oh and an enabler. Lol

Just pause the video until u catch up. Its what I do
Good idea.
😮 that’s a cute idea!
I like your idea of using recipe cards for writing down directions in your own words.I do the same thing but am switching to recipe( or whatever I can find ) cards.❤😊
This pattern reminds me of a blanket my beloved Grandma had and I just had to make it.
Watching the Ads, and sooo ready to see this gorgeous blanket; see how it works up! Watching from start to finish. Have an AMAZING day, Bod FAM!!!
Crystal, you are such an enabler--my to-do list just keeps getting longer! Thank you for another beautiful afghan.
Looks like we’re gonna binge on cables!!
Crystal you are amazing at teaching and designing beautiful blankets, hats and everything!! Thank you so much!

It's beautiful.‼‼ I used this stitch for my last granddaughter. I made it in a washable wool in the softest lemon you can think of. 💛
