Exactly what happened with me. I absolutely love seeing these two working together. That intro was pretty darn good too. Shake it Eric! I first thought we were seeing snippets of Eric in the earlier years in Oregon. I love how creative they are too
My husband worked for years as a planner operator in a plant where they did dimensional lumber for kitchen cabinets. He always said it took a long time to plane because you couldn’t take to much off at a time because the boards would cup or the planner would bog down. Awesome to see you work through it and figure it out all on your own 😊
Eric feeding the chickens treats was the BEST ending to a video. And Arielle's "Says a lot about Eric" was from the heart. Great couple, great work ethic, great determination, great channel, gives many people great pleasure. You guys always deliver above and beyond! Well done, keep forging ahead and THANK YOU!
Without a doubt, this is my favorite channel to watch of the 0 or so that I follow. You guys are great. You can feel the love and respect coming thru the video. Thanks!
You guys always start the video with jaw dropping scenaries and view points... Today😅😂 It was another level jaw dropping scene 😅😂.....love you guys for these beautiful videos❤
With all the craziness that is happening in the world, it’s somehow comforting sitting down to see what you guys are doing. Thank you for bringing back some sanity to us.
"This project has taken longer than originally anticipated" is the most popular phrase of homesteaders and those tackling projects of their own. I think of it every time I endeavor to do a perceivably small project here at home.
The opening reminds me of the new boat episode! I was so confused at first. That was so funny! I was wondering how the first few rows of wood would stand up to snow. The metal not only looks great, but is a great idea for the weather! It looks great! Love Eric and his flock of followers!
Your channel has to be my fav…because of your work ethic, play ethics, home skills, cooking, gathering, explanations, cinematography, and variety of activities! You both have great camera presence and skills! I am sure many viewers wish they were as accomplished as you two! Yes, your relationship also shines through too! Question…can you suggest a background video episode …..on your history….origins, met, starting your life, etc, etc……I will dig on the channel but if you never made one please do! Finally…you should have a contest…some lucky couple should get to come visit you and share a home cooked meal while helping you work, fish, hunt, etc for a day! Keep the episodes coming!
There are not many channels that should have 1 million subscribers. This is clearly one of them. If you enjoyed this and havent subscribed please do it now. They truly have earned your support. It will help them immensely.
Ya’ll do professional quality work in everything you do! The Q hut shiplap, metal sheeting on the bottom and the lights all look fantastic!!! It amazes me how ya’ll figure out every inch of how the wood should fit and the exact cutting of the bottom sheet metal trim. The Q hut looks soooo good! But everything thing ya’ll build and do always looks fantastic!!! I love your channel and I love watching your lives in motion. Thank you for bringing us along!! I also love your little skits. Hahahahahaha ya’ll do entertain us well. Ya’ll be safe and enjoy all the fruits of your labor!🙂🙂🙂
I've been watching you two since Oregon! You never cease to amaze me from the quality of your videos to the flow of your storyboard. You both are deserving of each other in so many ways. I think you are what most people would call ❤Soulmates❤ I love your little heart with the A&E inside it, that no one will see, but you know it's there behind the big light fixture above the main door to the quonset hut. Congratulations on this exceptional work. Well done 💞👷♀️👷💞 Together, you will accomplish everything! DIY
Very smart to put metal on the bottom to protect the lower half from snow and looks fantastic at the same time! Great job guys! Looks really good! The spray foam is gonna be nice and toasty this winter! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
The bright white paint on the spray foam, and with the grooves in the hut's walls and ceiling, makes it look like a massive igloo. I just love it. It's magical looking. 🙂👍❄
I have been watching this build from the beginning and the amount of time, effort, sweat, and learning as you go along with the project has been amazing. You guys are the best and are so inspirational to the rest of us that enjoy the Alaska dream. Keep on going, there is no telling where you might end up a few years down the road....!!
omg, the intro.....I had to double check to make sure I clicked on the right video. So funny!!!! I'm still reeling from when you were just assembling this monster, and now, look how far you've come! It's beautiful! I love the lights, the woodstain, the metal on the bottom. It's a masterpiece. Just think, your hands have touched every single nook and cranny of it. Such a cool thing to witness. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures!
Your attention to detail (both of you) and pride in your work is something I strive for in my life. I'm not sure if a more perfect partnership exists like it does between you guys! It's so interesting to see what you will tackle next. Your skill set is second to none! Keep it coming please 😃
Now, that's how real Alaskans handle winter! They use whatever is at hand, themselves, brains to hire out the dangerous, unobtainable, and needing skills above their DIY levels. Well done both in content and in editing. A pleasant almost hour of canoodling with my cats and watching a fantastic episode.
Great, funny intro! Loved it! Shake it Eric! The work on the quonset hut is just outstanding. The bottom 3 feet of metal was a wonderful idea. Everything looks professional. You guys just continue to knock it out of the park!
The intro made me blush and cackle at the same time. The amount of work you put into your home is staggering the siding looks so good!! Really highlights the bell shape of the hut.
One thing My wife and I Absolutely Love about this channel, both of you do this, it does not matter the task, experience and knowledge or not, you are both willing to learn, work together and get that task done.
The way I giggled the whole intro 😂 And my 4 yo (who watches all of your guys’ videos with me) said “who is that?!” And then “wow look at that cool wood flip!”
@Simple Living Alaska @Eric & Arielle You 2 never cease to amaze me 👌👌 One is never disappointed when it comes to your videos !!! Instead I'm just plumb glued to the screen in utter amazement at your ever word and action. You do so much and it's so professionally done. Not to mention the harmony between the 2 of you working together to get the best results possible. I refuse to start watching your video unless I know I can watch it un-interrupted from go to woa. What an extraordinary acheivement for 2 people; only needing help to do the cement slab and the spray foam. 👏👏👏👏🇦🇺🤗🙏💞👍👌✌️👏✝️🇺🇸 ps. love love love the wood and metal finish, and the windows in the door are a genius touch. ❤❤
I think it’s because one is built with love and respect, the other is just a job. No offense to anyone But you put your heart ♥️ into something like this 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The “Alaska Kids” just posted a new video. Everything else, including dinner, must wait. 😁👏😂 You two are absolutely amazing. Your giant shop, built almost entirely by just the two of you (thank you concrete friends and spray foam company), is fabulous and fantastic looking. I can’t wait to see all that you use it for and what you do next. Love and admiration from SC!

I loved the intro with Eric and the wig! 🤪The Shiplap Siding looks great! The Quonset Hut looks so good and both of you should be very proud of yourselves.
I really appreciate how you take the time to explain things to us not like we are stupid but like we are students and you never take shortcuts. I find that very impressive. I’ve been watching your channel for about a year now and in between new videos i go back to the beginning before I knew about this channel. You should be very proud the Quonset Hut looks awesome.
I think you’re building an Airbnb….or a very “booshie” shop… any power tool would be honored to be there!!! I too have an affinity with wood grain and the shop front is a piece of ART!!! ❤from Texas

Hippy Eric from the 80’s lmao. Awesome shop. This winter you will be so much more comfortable working on everything with heat and not getting rained on.

We love your story and are faithfully following another couple in the area as well. We have found many Portugal homesteader sites that the couples have got to know each other for an occasional dinner and work sharing lifestyle for the big jobs. Please keep it coming. My husband is a retired maintenance mechanic of over 50years and loves to wrench. You guys all excite us with your progress. Thank you!
It is really inspiring and impressive that Eric and Ariel built this quonset hut almost entirely by themselves. It looks beautiful. And it is so big. No doubt in a year or two they'll be figuring out to to expand it. The intro to this video was really cute btw
It looks AWESOME!!! You two are the hardest working, most creative, most industrious couple I've ever witnessed! Absolutely everything you do is done with perfection. How proud you must be, and rightfully so. Thank you for letting us be a part of it!! You truly never disappoint.
Ha ha ha loved the intro, too cute! Wow that shiplap turned out great. It has a Scandic look especially with the black light fixtures. I love it! The spray foam with the white paint is giving off big time snowy/icy vibes. Looks very cool and so appropriate for where you live, like a snowy workshop where you could expect to see Santa’s elves building toys. Loved seeing Bandit and Peppercorn as well. So cute that they have to be right where you are working. Amazing to see how this is all coming together. Thanks for another wonderful episode! ❤❤❤
You both have done one amazing job on that building. Loved the opening and busted out laughing that Eric dusted off the wig for a appearance. Definitely should be proud of the beautiful building that you built. Absolutely love your channel and always look forward to you posting a video. Take care and have a blessed evening and week ahead. ❤️🍀 Blessings, Teresa 🦉
