Just to let you know we binge watched the series with the family in front of the fire -16 degrees Celsius in Sharon Ontario Canada. Enjoyed them you have a wonderful family. My kind of living. Thanks for sharing cheers!!
Wonderful stuff! Thank you for watching and I hope you’ll check out my brother, Hamish Auskerry’s videos which have lots more about the island too. Cheers from Scotland.
So relaxing. Farm & sea altogether. I watched it 3 times because it brought back memories of both in my younger days. Thank you Rory for bringing us along.
Gary Dell absolute pleasure Gary - I’m delighted you enjoyed it. Part 3 will be here next week and then I hope to be back to flying the helicopter again!
Rory and his family, will eventually have to take over the role of managing the island.along side his parents.until they are ready to retire..wishing you all much success..love from Bronx, new york.
Flying and the great outdoors "perfect". Very professional wildlife camera work. I was transported to the island and could swear I felt the sea spray!!
Another great video.. definitely true about the sound of the sea. Also, After these video, I think all your subscribers wouldn’t mind visiting Auskerry.
Brilliant Docu series. Such a different life from ours in Switzerland but maybe that's why it has so much appeal? We just spent some days on Mainland Orkney last week, taking the ferry from Aberdeen and it was my favorite part of our Scotland trip. How do you feel about the cruise ship tourists flooding the mainland every other day? Of course, we are also tourists but were a bit shocked as it isn't the kind of traveling we prefer. Nonetheless, this video makes me want to return to Orkney and discover the islands a bit more.
Thanks for watching and I’m glad you had a great visit to Orkney. It’s a wonderful place and I can see why so many people want to see it via the cruise ships. I think it’s a mixed blessing. It does bring jobs and money for the community but it is also quite a strain on services and causes issues for some businesses. I can’t say I feel that strongly about it either way.
What a terrific short film. It’s a place I’d love to go but it’s important to limit the footprint - I imagine cruise ships stopping at other islands in Orkney both help the economy but then exhaust resources. Heli tours locally would be brilliant but the wildlife may not co-exist with it all that well. It seems such a honest lifestyle. Thank you for making this series, I’ve watched this three times myself now!
Those puffins!! And the once again excellent footage. What a lovely trip away. Do you find it relaxing? Or actually quite hard work getting involved with everything?
Really great second video Rory. Karen is watching a recorded Springwatch on TV and yours is as well filmed and just as interesting. Well done you (and Lizi!)
I know it’s a hard life on these Islands but I think l would love it very much 😊
It is a lovely place to be, especially in the summer months.
My 3 year old won't stop watching this. He loves the sheep.
Well I say hello. :)
Love it! What an amazing place to be christened!
A bit mad, but certainly a good story! Thanks for watching. As you can see, plenty of room to land a heli. 👍
@@RoryOnAir yes, just the weather window to get there....:)

Thanks for watching. It sadly doesn’t really fit with my life as an offshore helicopter pilot but I love the island.
Bravo, yet again Rory. It's so great that you've managed to pull off such a fantastic document of a truly special place :) Roll on ep 3!
Many thanks Phil. I'm so pleased you did manage to get out there in the end.

I’d certainly love to do some limited heli tours in the summer - maybe one for a future year. Thanks for watching.

Ben Atkinson I love the variety in the day and it is tiring but you sleep well as a result and feel like you’ve earned it. It’s very peaceful.
Nice video Rory. Great drone work. We will get you flying RC helicopters yet?
Al Watt I wouldn’t rule out having a go!
My ancestors are Orkadian. It's hard for me to think of life with no trees. I guess this is it.
Yeah, trees don’t do well on Orkney but there are some and I think there were more many centuries ago. Thanks for watching.
Really great second video Rory. Karen is watching a recorded Springwatch on TV and yours is as well filmed and just as interesting. Well done you (and Lizi!)
Jodel Flyer thanks very much Tim - I’m delighted you enjoyed it. Looks like we’ll be back to flying soon which is ace.
Surely there’s a RoA winter woolly jumper merch opportunity here somewhere?!
Dan Smith ha ha - careful what you wish for Dan! 😂

Are you Hamishs brother 😊
I am indeed!
Yeah I can t fly either, never learned it, guess you must start as a child?
Not at all - it’s never too late!
So interesting, but.... really don’t like the constant music
Thanks for watching Jenny. Sorry you didn’t like the music.
@@RoryOnAir I just like the sounds of nature, but I will keep watching, who wouldn’t ? , it’s brilliant.
@@jennymoss2122 I get it, I like that too, but I felt it needed something else too. Thanks for watching.
The soft rock guitar is a little off-putting.
Sorry you didn’t enjoy the music, but I hope you enjoyed the video anyway.
