Ah wow yes I’d love to visit Sotra and Hitra! They look amazing - so one day I’ll get there hopefully! Do you still live there? And yes I bet the diving would be good! We’ve never tried that but we do some snorkelling and that is beautiful even if a bit cold! All the best to you 👍👍

Of course, I don't actually know your family but I feel seriously sad that your dad's time on the island is over. Your parents achieved so much in a beautiful but tough environment. I hope that it will be possible, somehow for this to be continued. Could agricultural students gain experience by interning on the island?
Thank you for your care - that really means a lot. We’re still trying to work out future plans - and we’re working towards being able to pass it on to someone else. But it’s very complex as you can imagine and no solution is straightforward when you’re on a place so remote. Take care!

Thank you so much Elena! Welcome to the channel community :) we are always looking for keen people to come and help on the island and ultimately one day hopefully someone will like to make it their home too. All the best to you ☺️
This is such a kind comment, thanks ever so much. I’ve never felt more grateful for what I have than I do now, even though with my dad’s illness we’ve lost so much. We take the joy as best we can in all the good moments and try to be philosophical about the worst elements of the disease my dad has. Thanks for supporting what we do 👍
I'm so sorry to hear it was time for your dad to stay back in Kirkwall this year, although I know it was not unexpected. I hope your mom gets to see him reasonably often, given the difficulty of the trip. While it seems everybody has a drone now, there is a good reason for that. And your subject matter is better than most! What stunning images you were able to capture with it! Thank you for sharing them and the adorable newborn seal pup with us!
Aw thanks so much for this kind comment! Yeah I don’t want to overuse the drone shots as they’re a bit impersonal and I like the realities of showing life as it is on the ground! But the drone does give a beautiful perspective. Thanks for your care and support ☺️
Yes, the photography! I'm really enjoying it too. The camera angles, the depth, the consistent work with lines in the image. I don't know a lot about it, but I'm really getting inspiration and learning here. Thank you, Hamish, for the joy it brings, along with the joy of the content. All the best to you and your family.
Wow! I’m bowled over by this to be honest - thank you! I only started doing any creative filming last year and I’ve spent so much time watching videos about how to do it - so I’m still very much in the emulation phase myself I think! But I’m really delighted that it’s inspiring you - as the island inspires me! All the best - thanks again ☺️
I had the fortune of spending a few hours in Kirkwall in June 2023 (cruise ship). I too thank the YT algorithm for somehow directing me to your channel. I tried imagining how it must feel standing outside 10 Downing Street one day and the next day being on your remote island. Like. Subscribe. All notifications on. When I was living and working in Sydney, I was an aged care psychiatrist so from a professional perspective I can totally understand the difficult decisions you must have had to make regarding your father. Savour each and every moment you have together and hold on to all the precious memories you shared. Best wishes from Dubrovnik. Zoltán
Ah this is such a kind message, Zoltán - thank you so much! I’m so glad you’ve got to see some of the rest of Orkney too. It’s a really special place and I’m so lucky to have grown up there. That’s really interesting that you have professional experience of dementia too. It’s incredibly tough seeing what it’s done to my dad but we take each day as it comes and try to enjoy everything we can. All the best to you in beautiful Croatia 👍🙏
That drone is 💯 worth it. What a stunning evening you had , perfect for looking at your island and seeing it in its full glory ! Wow ! You are very fluent in sheep , haha. I'm glad that for the most part ,your dad is still on your island in his mind , I'm sure that helps him feel settled. I hope your beautiful mum is doing ok , that's got to be very challenging for her. I'm excited to watch this season unfold . I'm very grateful that you're sharing these precious times with us ❤❤
Aw thanks so much for this! I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing on the little screen of the drone controller - it was honestly an awe inspiring moment of inspiration! And haha well my dad was the master at imitating the sheep well enough to get their attention - so it feels only right to carry that on 😃 Mum is doing well thanks and keeping incredibly strong. Best wishes to you and thanks again
Your camera and drone work are breathtaking Hamish. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. In a way I know how much having Auskerry in your blood affects your life. I'm from a very small town on the north coast all US and I feel like if I don't get home soon my soul is simply going to die. My best wishes to your remarkable Mom. I hope she's doing well.
Ah this is really kind, thanks so much Marty! I love the creative outlet of filming and editing these films - and the feeling of protecting the memories in some way makes the process with my dad a bit easier to cope with. I bet your home town is beautiful being up in the wilds of the north! All the best to you
Up the road from our tiny mini-farm on an island in British Columbia, Canada, is a lovely farm named Little Orkney. There are still hints of Orkney lore and accents and sheep are everywhere. Such a heart-breakingly beautiful place, and here too, mama seals are fiercely protective! Thank you so much for sharing your farm and island. Best to you and yours from 🇨🇦 Canada.
Thank you so much for the updates. I love your time there on the island. I’m so sorry about your father. I Am glad that you can go and support your mother. It seems like a magical place
Thank you very much! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the films ☺️ thank you for your care about my dad too. It’s a hard situation but one my mum has dealt with incredibly. All the best to you!
It is - and the island won't ever feel the same for us without him there but he is content and safe in his new environment and that's all we can hope for in the circumstances. All the best to you
@hamishauskerry keeping your Dad safe is the most important part. Dementia is a horrible disease to watch, I work in health care and see it daily 😔 Looking forward to new videos, sending you and yours hugs from Northern Ireland
I'm subscribed and waiting for more 😁 I just found your videos tonight searching for turf/peat. The island is amazing and exciting. I feel sad that your father is not on the island to experience more of it. He spent 49 great years, all those moments that I'm sure he still has in his memory. I hope he push on even without the busy island life. Cheers to you and your family!
Aw that’s cool that you’ve found us! That peat video helped a lot of people discover us actually - I never thought it would have! I really appreciate your caring and thoughtful comment. All the best to you ☺️
I enjoy all your videos of the Orkney's, I regret that I never visited there in my younger years. I actually have ancestors buried at St Magnus Cathedral. My Grand mother was born in 1886 Sanday, Orkney. I have always enjoyed watching your mom and dad working with the sheep and producing wool and other products from them. I hope the tradition will carry on for many more years. Thank you for sharing. LG Canada.
Ah that's such an amazing link to Orkney. You are more Orcadian than me then probably and I was born there! Sorry you never got to visit but it's great that you can learn more about your past through youtube and the internet. I really appreciate your support and encouragement. All the best to you
Was so Happy to see this pop up on my notifications, so enjoyed the last series and looking forward to your adventures this time, sad news about your Dad but he has a lifetime of memories from his time on the island that he can fall back into when he's having a cloudy day.
Thank you Howard, this is lovely to hear. I showed dad some of my drone footage recently and his eyes lit up at some of the stuff I’ve filmed this summer - it was lovely to see his joy at seeing it in a different way too. All the best to you
Dear Hamish, thank you for another moving and inspiring video. I’m watching this from our - now my - house on the shore of Minas Basin in Nova Scotia. My husband (84) passed away suddenly in his sleep 10 days ago. While it was a huge shock, he had become very frail the last 6 months without any clearly identifiable reason. He was not in pain, His mind was sharp, he was full of creative ideas (he was a B&W photographer), he just hugged his youngest granddaughter (nearly 2). While his passing is a crushing loss after 30 happy years together, I’m so relieved he didn’t have to suffer further physical decline. I hope your mom can go see your dad and I hope they can be at peace with this situation because it must be very hard
Oh Elisabeth this breaks my heart. I'm so so sorry for your loss. Your honesty to share this with me and at the same time showing compassion for my mum is so telling about you as a person, and I am so grateful. Thanks as always for all your support for what we're doing and I really hope you're taking care. Thinking of you and your wider family at this awfully hard time xx
Ah thanks very much Dave. Yes it’s sad but he’s doing well where he is now and is able to live a calmer and more relaxing life than he ever has before! Hope all well with you. H
I am so sorry your lovely Dad isnt up to being on the island, but as well as being sad it is now over for him except in his memory, I am rejoicing that he got to truly live more fully in those 50 years than most people can ever dream of. His memories are a blessing to him and what he and your mum have created there is a blessing for his children and now through your videos, for all of us to. What a fabulous and rare legacy to look back on. Xxx
This is a lovely comment - thank you so much. You probably noticed my mistake describing the Northlink as having come from Aberdeen when of course it had come from Lerwick that night 😬😂 my brother was quick to point that out. It’s really sad that dad is no longer on the island and it doesn’t feel the same without him but he can enjoy the memories for the rest of his life - and 49 years of anything joyful is an exceptional record. Best wishes to you
nice back see back on island good see got drome and great views from drome dons drome follow round when u talking great kit hope u dad ok well on mainland and great videos hamish
Thanks mate! Yeah there is a feature on the drone which allows you to track something - like a car or a person and it will follow you around without having to use the controls. Amazing piece of kit! Dad is doing well thanks ☺️👍
Hauntingly beautiful and wildly remote. You are very fortunate to be able to call such a special place home, and to have spent your childhood there. Thank you for sharing Auskerry with us ❤❤❤
So pleased to see you doing another series, met your mum Thersa - just by chance when I was in Orkney a couple of days after the show in August this year. Such a wonderful surprise, managed to purchase some of the wool from the farm too while I was there, but now back home in NZ with my flock of Finnish Landrace and the spring weather is here at last - lambs on the ground and the next cycle of the farm begins. . All the best to you all, keep up the great work, love these - 'real' life stories. Please say hi to your mum from me.
Ah Lynne how nice to hear from you! I absolutely LOVED hearing the story of you bumping into mum in Kirkwall. Mum said she loved meeting you and we laughed a lot about how crazy it is that you recognised her from UA-cam. All the best to you for lambing season and do say hello if you come back to Orkney some day. H
I reckon you've done the best for Dad, better a safe & comfortable plan than a crisis one day, well done all of you. Look after Mam too, can't be easy. A great start to your new videos, looking forward to seeing all of them. Greetings From Northumberland.
Thanks very much for your support Ashley - this is really kind. It was all becoming untenable last year to be honest and things are a lot calmer for everyone this year. But there’s no question that it’s painful for us all and the island doesn’t feel the same without him here. We’re all sticking together though 🙏 thanks for watching
How amazing to see the island from the new angle. Sorry that your dad is not there now but like you say he’s there in his head always. Look forward to all the up and coming videos and thank you for sharing it with us all so beautifully.
I so enjoy your posts. Its so difficult watching your parents get older and you begin to switch your roles. You become the guardian and your role as a child begins to fade. Im sending you and your family good wishes and look forward to future posts...thank you!
Ah that’s really thoughtful, thank you for your kindness. It’s a hard transition that most people go through I guess with their parents. But dementia makes it a lot more pronounced for sure. Thanks for watching ☺️
What a fabulous place. Those islands are harsh but magical. Wish your family the best Hamish - i work with people who have Parkinson's dementia. Great that your dad had those 49 years in such an amazing place. Thank you for sharing.
We received our fleece about a month ago. My sister loves it. She said it is beautiful and soft. Now she us cleaning it will spin it soon. Tell your mom thank you. John from California
nice to see you back Hamish and look forward to the new series of your time at home.Emotive scenery with compassionate narrative of a wonderful family being together
What a great video! I have been watching your channel for the past year or so , since spending a month in northern Scotland and the islands last year. I farm with game, cattle and sheep in South Africa, and really enjoy your work - thank you and well done
Ah that’s amazing Louis! I bet your farm looks a bit different to ours 😀 I hope you enjoyed your trip to the islands - there’s certainly a lot to explore. All the best to you and thanks very much for your support for the channel 👍
Great to see a report from you, it's been a while. Sad to hear about your dad, wishing you and your family great days together on your heavenly partition of earth. Greetings from NZ.
Thank you for the insight into your island home its so beautiful and remote i can definitely see how such a beautiful place has became a part of your father
Excited to see you back on the island. Already that drone has paid for itself. The views of the island are spectacular! Like others have said, it is sad to learn about your dad but I'm sure you all made the right decision for him. I cannot imagine the whiplash of your last day in London. One moment being in one of the most important cities in the world, the next being on your quiet isolated island. That 2023 footage of the winds and surf is remarkable. It can be so inhospitable yet humans have persevered in that climate for thousands of years. Enjoy your "break" on the island with your mom. I'm sure she cherishes your visits. Best wishes from Missouri USA and I look forward to your future videos.
Hello to you in Missouri! How fantastic you’ve found these videos. Thank you so much for your kindness and care - I really appreciate it. We are all trying to do our best in a difficult situation and mum is doing brilliantly. All I can do is help her as much as possible and to enjoy every moment there when I have the chance. The videos are my insurance policy against not having the farm and the way of life there to visit in the future. But we hope very much that someone will want to take it on and have their own chapter here. Thanks again - take care ☺️
Thank you Hamish… I love this channel of yours and anything you post. Your the BEST🥰 Hearing about your Dad brought tears to my eyes..we are the same age…. I SEND YOU ALL HUGS GOOD WISHES AND KISSES from Calgary Canada 🇨🇦. Looking forward to your next post❤
Aw this is SO kind - thank you ☺️☺️ It was hard to say about dad in the video and all of us have found it so sad but it’s a relief that he seems happy and settled in his new environment ❤️
Looking forward to this series. Thank you so much, Hamish, for making these videos... I've recently hand-scoured, hand-spun, then hand-knit one of the fleeces from Auskerry, and have become a fond fan of the island and of your family, even an ocean away...
Aww sorry your dad no longer on the island I spect it was difficult for your mum at 1st to see your dad not able to return to the island but he in best place thanks again for sharing life on the island 😊
Thanks so much Myra ❤️ it’s been a very hard decision but we have all supported her through it because it is sadly the correct decision with the way things are now. He’s doing well where he is now and I think he has a lot less stress in his life now! ☺️
A beautiful and very emotional watch. What an incredible set of films you’ve made - in tiny part for UA-cam but an unreal thing for your family to cherish. Love it!
Ah Tim this means so much to read this from you! Thanks very much. I’m so chuffed to have done the filming because I can already sense how cherished it will be in future years by all of us. All the best to you!
Thanks Sandy! Yes it's an enormous amount of work to keep it all going in such a remote place but the rewards have been amazing too. I can't imagine a life without it but hopefully someone new will have their own chapter on the island after we no longer can carry on. Best wishes to you
Stunning! Thank you for sharing your life and the stories of your family's journey. Looking forward to more and sending good wishes to all as you transition to a new phase.
What a fantastic tonic to start the day with: thank you. Not so much have you got a reporter's eye for a great image, more the other way round I think: you're a good reporter because you've got a good eye. You've got the drone sussed I think. Erm, Faye in the boat, honestly I thought I was looking at your mum! I'm sorry to hear that your dad is now living in care but may your parents live long and happily. Thank you Hamish.
Hello! Thanks so much for this (apart from the Faye bit 😬😂) Honestly I never thought I’d be able to film and make videos like that because I’d never tried! But I’ve learnt so much and it’s definitely made me better at my actual job too. Thanks so much for your support ☺️
My goodness, your drone footage and commentary are wonderful! You are a gifted storyteller! It saddens me that your dad isn’t able to stay on his beloved island, but his heart remains. I hope your mom is doing okay….that has to be hard for her, too. Having you home with her, if even for a short time, is comforting, and such a big help. Two of my friends ordered yarn to make sweaters from her, and they are very pleased with their purchases! My very best wishes to you, your mom, and your time together. Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻
Ah that’s lovely to hear Betty! Thanks so much for your comment. It is hard without dad but we know it’s the right decision and he is content where he is now. Mum is doing incredibly well and we’re supporting her in every way we can. I’m so glad they enjoyed their yarn! Thanks for your support - all the best to you ☺️
Oh Hamish the sea and light is glorious. And the drone shots superb well done. Your narration is very pleasant without any vocal fry which is so prevelent these days. Thankyou for sharing your paradise! Warm regardsto all. Greetings from Aus 💚 btw if youre ever after some lovely music checkout Tony Anderson and Judah Earl absolutely superb musicians! 😉
Thanks so much for this! I had to look up vocal fry but now I know what it is I hear it everywhere!! 😃 I really appreciate your support and your recommendations. All the best to you down under ☺️
Hamish, great to hear and see you again. Best regards to your Mum and very sad to hear that your Dad has had to leave home with the deterioration of his health. I will be thinking of him and your family as you all adjust to life on Auskerry without him. May God be close to you all.
Absolutely loved this! Beautiful filming and editing of an amazing place. I can't wait to get back to the Orkneys to visit my friend who lives on Sanday. Truly magical islands.
@@hamishauskerry I should have mentioned im an Australian farmer. XD The small island looks like heaven to me, so green, not on fire and no risk of the little blighters escaping into the neighbours place or taking off down the road when a visitor forgets a gate.
Indeed that drone shows the place in a whole new perspective. Lovely to see a new video from you, though sad to hear of the inevitable change in your dad’s situation. I understand completely. My mum is now wheelchair bound and we have no idea what she’s thinking most of the time. One can only hope that sometimes they are comforted in their thoughts by happy memories.
Ah I’m sorry 😔 as you say it is expected and we are staying as strong as we can but it does feel a bit like a horror film to see what the disease has robbed from my dad. Sending love and best wishes to you and your mum ❤️
Much love to your mum and dad, Hamish. Thank you for sharing your island with us. The contrast of London and the political news casting and the vast beauty of Auskerry are staggering, even through a video. I can only imagine the feeling of coming home to this. The chat with the sheep was very sweet. The drone and the telescopic lens are allowing us such beautiful sights. All the best from Southern Germany
Thank you so much for your kind comment ❤️ it really is a big adjustment to go there - but it’s even hard when I return to work in the city after spending weeks at home. But life is all about changes and doing your best to adapt so that’s what we’re all trying to do. Sending best wishes to you in lovely Germany 🇩🇪
Wonderful vlog, Hamish. Really looking forward to future episodes. Hope mum is coping without being with your dad. Must be very difficult for her and something of a worry to you. The drone is a great asset. Thank you for these episodes. Beautiful to see your farm , from the air . Much love to you and the family. 😍🙏🙏🙏
Aw Annie - thank you so much for your care ☺️ it’s all been very difficult to accept but we’re trying to be pragmatic and strong about it. It helps that dad seems quite happy and settled with his new environment. Sending best wishes back to you and yours ☺️
Watching from Canada. I love your show. I envy your childhood on the island, even though it came with challenges. Hopefully your Mom can hang in there for a little longer. Best wishes. 🇨🇦🇬🇧
Thanks so much for your support and kindness! It’s lovely to think of you watching in beautiful Canada. I can’t wait to visit your country again in the future when I have a bit more spare time! All the best to you ☺️
Thank you for another lovely video from this wonderful island! Looking forward to the videos from 2024😃 As a knitter and spinner, this is truly my dream life.
Hamish, Delighted to see you back on Auskerry, while your Dear Dad may not be there Physically he will be ever present for your Mum and yourselves and those of us who have the pleasure of knowing him through your Channel, your Drone Photography is excellent…. Be well and Happy…👏👏
Thank you so much for this! It's such a lovely thought that people have been able to get to know dad a bit through the videos. In the future when mum gets her book written about the early years on the island, people will get to hear about dad at the peak of his powers. Best wishes to you
Ah thanks so much Donna. He seems to be mostly happy where he is. There are harder days I’m sure but he knows he’s been very lucky to live such a happy life for so long there ❤️
EDWARD FROM NEWFOUNDLAND CANADA love the drone pictures , you are a great story teller, it is sad because DAD is not there, THAT IS ALL YOU CAN DO BYE HAMISH
OH THAY WAS TOOOOOOOO SHORT....WAITING WITH BATED BREATH FOR YOUR NEXT ONE DARLING BOY... I'M SAD ABOUT DAD, HE WAS THE BACKBONE OF THAT ISLAND.... MUM IS NO SHIRKER EITHER.... GOD SHE CAN WORK.....THAT FOOD GARDEN SHE MADE, FANTASTIC......... FROM ALL THE VIDEOS I HAVE SEEN OF THE ISLAND, DAD WORKED WITH ONE PURPOSE, TO ENJOY THE LAND AND THE SHEEP, AIDED AND ABETTED BY MUM...... THANK YOU DARLING.... THANK MUM AND DAD TOO...
It must be painful to part for your parents, but I am glad to hear your dad is well taken care of. I was already wondering if you would be able to continue this series, and if your family could continue herding sheep this year. With your father so sick and your mum getting on, it seemed difficult to say. 🛥🦭 I am very glad you can go on another season! 🙂Since I am bedridden most o the time myself, your videos are a comforting substitute for my own trips into nature. 🌳I imagine your footage of the island might also be a comfort to your father. Best wishes for your family! 🌊 🐑🐑🐏 🏠 🐑🐑🐑🐋🦭🌊🌊
Aw thanks so much for this Evelin - what a special image you paint of enjoying these videos in your own home 🥰 I showed dad some of the drone footage recently and his eyes lit up seeing the place from above. I wish you better health and continued happiness- thank you so much for your support ☺️
I work with New Zealand fur seal pups every few years. Seals are defentely sea dogs, so very cute. I can get the pups to cuddle me from time to time, they are aprox 7-9kg
Gorgeous scenery, what a beautiful part of Scotland 🏴 I'm from, and live, in the most Southerly part of Scotland, in the wee toon of Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway, where we also have beautiful shore lines, Rock faces and stunning scenery and wildlife ❤ We are so privileged to reside in such beautiful places! I've followed your videos since the start, and they are so incredible, I look forward to continuing that ❤ Best wishes to your Dad 💙
Ah Lesley you're so right! We have to cherish it because there aren't many places in the world quite like the Scottish shoreline. Thanks ever so much for your continuing kindness and support ❤️
Hamish, I am over the moon for this video partly for the update, mostly for the incredible beauty of video. Please give your mom a hug for me, she's so incredible. I'm sure your dad will love some of those shots printed as stills. Make it big enough to be a window size where he see prominently. Heck, I would want the sea and sky as wallpaper for me! You did hood
That’s such a lovely idea Cheryl! I was thinking about a calendar for charity but I will get round to printing some stills for dad for sure. Thank you so much for your care and support ❤️
If you'd like to support the creation of future videos, please consider buying me a coffee www.buymeacoffee.com/hamishauskerry ❤ Thank you

Hamish.... you seem to accept (as best one can.... with grace and humility) the dance of life, with all of its delights... and moments of sorrow.

Just stunning photography, of an incredible place.
Yes, the photography! I'm really enjoying it too. The camera angles, the depth, the consistent work with lines in the image. I tried imagining how it must feel standing outside 10 Downing Street one day and the next day being on your remote island.

When I was living and working in Sydney, I was an aged care psychiatrist so from a professional perspective I can totally understand the difficult decisions you must have had to make regarding your father. Savour each and every moment you have together and hold on to all the precious memories you shared.
Best wishes from Dubrovnik.

All the best to you
Thank you for sharing. I am looking forward to the videos in this series. The drone footage is particularly stunning!
Ah thank you so much - that’s really kind! ☺️
Ah that’s amazing! I’ve never of that place - maybe one day I’ll get to visit. Thank you so much for your support and care ☺️
Beautiful as always! Prayers and love sent for your dad.
Thanks so much Stacey ❤️
Too short, Hamish! I enjoyed the first series so much! Praying for your family.
Aw thanks Mary! There’s more to come… 😀 take care
Im new to the channel don't know how I found you but Im glad I did. So sorry to hear about your dad. What a beautiful Island you can call home. 😊
Aw thanks very much - that’s really kind of you ☺️ I really appreciate your support
I look forward to watching these beautiful videos all the way from Texas. Please keep posting!❤
Ah thank you so much for your support!! I really appreciate it. All the best to you! 🥰
Thank you so much for the updates. I love your time there on the island. I’m so sorry about your father. I
Am glad that you can go and support your mother. It seems like a magical place
Thank you very much! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the films ☺️ thank you for your care about my dad too. It’s a hard situation but one my mum has dealt with incredibly. All the best to you!
Sad to hear your Dad won't be back on the island 😢
Fabulous video as always! ❤
It is - and the island won't ever feel the same for us without him there but he is content and safe in his new environment and that's all we can hope for in the circumstances. All the best to you
@hamishauskerry keeping your Dad safe is the most important part. Dementia is a horrible disease to watch, I work in health care and see it daily 😔
Looking forward to new videos, sending you and yours hugs from Northern Ireland
Best wishes for both your mom and dad. I'm looking forward to the series. Thanks.
That's so kind - thanks so much for your support ❤️
LG Canada.
So sorry to hear about your dad's failing health.
Ah that's such an amazing link to Orkney. You are more Orcadian than me then probably and I was born there! Sorry you never got to visit but it's great that you can learn more about your past through youtube and the internet. I really appreciate your support and encouragement. All the best to you
Thank you 🙏
Hello, interesting to hear that your ancestors are Sanday folk. I live on Sanday myself but am of Welsh origins
Cliff
I love your island Hamish, it's so beautiful and I am so pleased that you managed to buy a drone, as the footage is fantastic!
Thank you so much!! I'm so grateful for the support and I love that you are enjoying it so much ❤️
Was so Happy to see this pop up on my notifications, so enjoyed the last series and looking forward to your adventures this time, sad news about your Dad but he has a lifetime of memories from his time on the island that he can fall back into when he's having a cloudy day.
@@hamishauskerry thank you Hamish, be well
Lovely to see your new series on here. Sorry to hear about your dad. Looking forward to seeing how the summer develops.
Best wishes
Dave
Thank you Hamish, really looking forward to this series.
Thanks so much Lorraine ☺️
I am watching you while knitting Auskerry wool into my new purple coat. Looking forward to the new season
Wow that’s very cool! All the best with the knitting project ☺️
Hauntingly beautiful and wildly remote. You are very fortunate to be able to call such a special place home, and to have spent your childhood there. Thank you for sharing Auskerry with us ❤❤❤
Ah thank you so much! We are very lucky - that much is unarguable. Thanks for your support ☺️
Your home Island is stunning. It was very exciting to see a new series up 🎉
Thanks so much Wendy!! I’m so excited to share it with you ☺️
Hamish it was so worth you getting a drone, love you’re footage and good luck, bless your father
Thanks so much Tim - this is really kind ☺️
This has brightened up my Sunday morning. Stunning photography, thank you.
Ah that’s really kind, thanks very much! All the best
Wonderful privilege to see your home again! Glad to know your dad is safe.
Thanks very much Deborah ☺️
I really enjoyed your video and introducing your true self to us. My name is Shaun and many well wishes for you and your family from Australia.
Ah thanks so much Shaun! I really appreciate the support and I’m glad you’re enjoying the series 👍
How amazing to see the island from the new angle. Sorry that your dad is not there now but like you say he’s there in his head always. Look forward to all the up and coming videos and thank you for sharing it with us all so beautifully.
Aw thanks very much Jen - that’s really kind. Best wishes to you too ☺️
Sad to hear about your dad. Amazing video and so nice to see the drone footage.
Thank you very much for your care and support ☺️
Thank you so much Mandy, this is really kind. I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly! Take care ☺️
We received our fleece about a month ago. My sister loves it. She said it is beautiful and soft. Now she us cleaning it will spin it soon. Tell your mom thank you. John from California
Ah this is lovely to hear John! I hope the rest of the creation goes well. I’ll let mum know that it’s been well received. Best wishes to you
nice to see you back Hamish and look forward to the new series of your time at home.Emotive scenery with compassionate narrative of a wonderful family being together
Thanks so much Ronald - for your generosity too ☕️ I hope you’re taking care 🙏
Thank you so much - that's really kind. We are making the most of every second. All the best to you in NZ
Hello from New Zealand. Looking forward to seeing your life on the island this season.
Hello to you! Thanks so much for watching
What an amazing family, and what a truly beautiful place! Your parents are real "pioneers"aswe would call them here in the US!
Aw thanks Dianne! I agree entirely that they have achieved amazing things and it certainly inspires me! ☺️
Great job mate. Warm greetings and encouragement to your family, your Dad, your partner, from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Ah thank you so much mate - that's really kind. All the best to you in your beautiful corner of the world too.
Thank you for sharing these videos of this very special place. The drone footage is stunningly beautiful. 👏
Thanks so much as always Moira ☺️
Beautiful colours revealed by the drone. Amazingly calm sea. Good that you are both back for abit to help your lovely mum.
Ah thanks Angela! I’m really glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Thank you for the insight into your island home its so beautiful and remote i can definitely see how such a beautiful place has became a part of your father
Thanks so much Sandra - that’s really kind and I appreciate your support ☺️
So Beautiful! Your Dad has lived such a wonderous life. Best and I look forward to this years workand living on the Island.
Thanks so much to you as always ☺️ I hope you’re keeping well
So happy you are back Hamish. Loving your drone work. 🎉 love seeing the sheep and wildlife 😊
Aw thanks so much Andrea! All the best to you ☺️☺️
Excited to see you back on the island.
You are really lucky to be able to experience both styles of livestyle.
Thank you - I certainly am 🙏
Ah that’s amazing! Thanks so much for commenting and also for supporting my mum’s hard work! All the best to you ☺️☺️
Aww sorry your dad no longer on the island I spect it was difficult for your mum at 1st to see your dad not able to return to the island but he in best place thanks again for sharing life on the island 😊
Thank you for sharing a small part of life on the island. It looks heavenly but a lot of hard work too. Sending blessings for yor Dad Mom, and you.
Thanks Sandy! Yes it's an enormous amount of work to keep it all going in such a remote place but the rewards have been amazing too. I can't imagine a life without it but hopefully someone new will have their own chapter on the island after we no longer can carry on. Best wishes to you
Absolutely loving the drone footage. Sorry to hear your dad isn’t well enough to stay on the island anymore.
Thanks very much for your care - I really appreciate it ☺️
I absolutely love this keep it up please and so sorry to hear about your dad mate 💙
Thanks so much Elliott - I appreciate the care ☺️
Stunning! Thank you for sharing your life and the stories of your family's journey. Looking forward to more and sending good wishes to all as you transition to a new phase.
Ah that’s really kind, thanks for your care and siooort Trish! Sending best wishes back to you ❤️
Superb look forward to your new videos
Thanks very much!
I'm so happy to see you continuing to share your special island with us!
Thank you!! I will continue to do so for as long as I can :)
Such a beautiful place❤❤. Thank you for sharing it with us❤. Hoping your Dad and Mom are comfortable and happy.
Thanks so much Dawn - that's really kind. Sending best wishes to you ☺️
What a fantastic tonic to start the day with: thank you.
Hello! Thanks so much for this (apart from the Faye bit 😬😂)
Honestly I never thought I’d be able to film and make videos like that because I’d never tried! But I’ve learnt so much and it’s definitely made me better at my actual job too. Thanks so much for your support ☺️
The drone shots are just amazing. Wishing you all the best of luck on the island. Take care from Ireland 🇮🇪👍👍👍
That’s really kind, thanks Michael! Al the best to you ☺️
Excellent video for studying English. Thanks!
That’s very cool, I’m glad my accent is easy to understand! Thanks for watching
@@hamishauskerry you're welcome. Release more)))))
Always a treat to see your beautiful Auskerry.
Aw thanks Sue! All the best to you
What a beautiful island. I'm sorry to hear of Dad's poor health.
Thanks for your care ☺️
Thanks for your support - all the best to you ☺️
Great video. Love the drone footage. Looking forward to more of your story.
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you so much for your kindness - all the best to you ☺️
Absolutely loved this! Beautiful filming and editing of an amazing place. I can't wait to get back to the Orkneys to visit my friend who lives on Sanday. Truly magical islands.
Thank you so much! That’s really kind - I hope you get back to Orkney soon! 😍
Perfect escape from the city, people pay a LOT for a holiday in a place like that! Maybe minus the sheep sheering. :)
Ah but the hard work is a vital part of the experience!! Thanks for watching ☺️
@@hamishauskerry I should have mentioned im an Australian farmer. XD
The small island looks like heaven to me, so green, not on fire and no risk of the little blighters escaping into the neighbours place or taking off down the road when a visitor forgets a gate.
@@hamishauskerry thank you so much. Same to you and yours.
Good to have you back!
Thanks so much Penny!
Great to see you back on the island - sorry your Dad can't make the journey anymore - looking forwards to the next tranche of videos.
Thanks for your support! ☺️
What an amazing video of you and family and friends on the island. The colors and sea scapes are stunning. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Robert! That’s really kind as always - all the best to you 👍
My best wishes to your mom and dad
Thanks so much Arthur - that’s really kind 👍
Sorry to hear about your dad, love the drone shots. Amazing
Thanks so much Lorraine ☺️
Wonderful video 💕
Thank you so much for watching ☺️
Wow, the drone coverage is super fantastic
Ah I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed it as much as me! It’s been a whole new experience for me 👍
Watching from Canada.
Aw that's lovely - thank you! Yes I think you'll enjoy the drone footage of gathering the sheep 😃
Best wishes to you
Lovely to see you again, so sorry to hear about your Dad - I do hope that he’s content in his new life ❤
Ah thanks so much Donna.
Thanks so much Edward! All the best to you 👍👍
OH THAY WAS TOOOOOOOO SHORT....WAITING WITH BATED BREATH FOR YOUR NEXT ONE DARLING BOY...
Thanks Linda!! Mum is certainly no shirker 😀 thank you for your kind comment - best wishes to you
It must be painful to part for your parents, but I am glad to hear your dad is well taken care of. I was already wondering if you would be able to continue this series, and if your family could continue herding sheep this year. With your father so sick and your mum getting on, it seemed difficult to say. 🛥🦭
I am very glad you can go on another season!
Love your videos ❤. Excited for the new series.
Thank you so much!
Lovely photography; engaging commentary; - your professionalism in both comes through.
This means so much! Thank you very much indeed ☺️
I work with New Zealand fur seal pups every few years. Seals are defentely sea dogs, so very cute. I can get the pups to cuddle me from time to time, they are aprox 7-9kg
Ah that’s lovely! What a cool experience. Thanks for watching!
Hats off to dad mum and you boys. A think we all dream of this lifestyle. In this day and age. But 49 years ago 🔝parents👌🏴
That’s really kind, thanks for watching Cameron!
