Feels weird watching people compare tarja to floor, instead of the other way around. I mean.... This sound and tarja's operatic singing are the reason nightwish exists today, period... its why the whole world fell in love with them.
Yes, finally some one did Tarja's Version. I have so much Memories by this. She is so Majestic! Thank you for your Reaction to this. 🤗 Greetings from Germany and sorry for my poor english.🙈
The Beaty of the Beast is really good, too. It has not been played live since Tarja. The best live version I know is Nightwish ft Tony Kakko - Beauty and the Beast (live) ua-cam.com/video/24tQIYmKFY0/v-deo.html And the latest official version is here (audio only): Beauty And The Beast (Remastered) ua-cam.com/video/QUltYg1y84k/v-deo.html
I love the fact that you reacted to this version. While I never agreed with people who said that Nightwish without Tarja is awful (maybe that's changed by now but for years, there were many, many comments like that) - when I searched for Ghost Love Score, all I could see was Floor (had to dig a bit for this). It's like Tarja was deleted from the history of Nightwish. And especially with THIS song, my favorite, that made me quite sad.
Yeah it’s been really wild for me to see as an old school Nightwish fan. These people need to put some respect on Tarja’s name. Everyone has such a Floor boner.
Why all these dislikes? This is reaction video (and really good reaction video imo), and I can't think any reason why would someone dislike it. You can't dislike reaction video because you don't like the song or version. You should judge reaction video by reaction, not by song. I just can't understand why some Floorfans click these Tarja videos, just to give it a dislike. It's so stupid.
It's part of a tactic to sway reactioners to stay away from Tarja - because they are afraid she will still outshine everyone despite being gone for 15 years.
@@FemaleMetalLover well, on some cases they might actually scare reactor away from Nightwish rather than only Tarja. I have an other channel, and I just few days ago uploaded remastered version of Summer Breeze 2002 concert, and someone went through all of those videos just to dislike them. And that someone was my subscriber, because YT search couldn't find those so soon. I was really pissed and wrote a little message about how stupid it is, and then he or she has removed those dislikes...so maybe we still have some hope, that we all could live in peace. Tarja and Floor just showed us good example with their chat.
The dislikes will not scare me away! Fewer people will get the video suggested because of the dislikes, but I can live with that. I'm in it for the music and I really enjoy Nightwish with both Floor and Tarja! 😍
@@FemaleMetalLover Tarja outshine Floor? Yeah right.. NOT. That is, for me. I prefer Floor but I recognize Tarja's qualities also. She's a good singer, not very versatile though. But it is true, it is stupid to give a video a dislike, only because someone likes Floor more. I admit that I have done that a few times myself in the far gone past, but not anymore.
The guitarist is Emppu, he was also there in the Wacken performance. He's been there from the beginning actually. He is always fun. Tarja was great, and the operatic vocals with a symphonic metal band made Nightwish what they were. Later we got Floor, the stars having aligned, and we could not be luckier. I don't compare or choose. I don't have to, it's all good. Nice reaction as always!
I think it is fair to say that for many of us long-time fans there are songs we prefer Tarja's vocals on and some we prefer Floor's on, but most of us really do love both.
@@marcosjbs4391 Hi Marcos. I really liked Anette in the studio, I thought she was great on Imaginaerum especially. I haven't seen an Anette live performance which impressed me, but I'll be happy to have my mind changed!
3:21 You NAILED IT. Perhaps the only one, or one of two, I've seen that mentioned it. Yes... There was something more Gothic and mysterious back in those days... Tarja's voice was distant, yet so warm. And her heavy accent made it more distinct... Great reaction.. 8:32 Legend ;)
@@vinnie666 Alot of the older Nightwish songs includeing this one should be retired and not sang by anyone besides tarja but ya know tuomas doesnt have no respect what so ever so thats his issue! If that man only had respect and retired the old songs that she did with them maybe I will come back and listen to there next album i did like the human nature album but if i continue to hear them sing the old songs they did with tarja im done! I wont be going back to listen to Nightwish anymore because what he is doing is plain disrespectful! He thinks its ok to rub things into peoples faces like oh look i got a new bitch as the lead singer dude who the hell cares. you had one and i mean one amazing singer from the start/first album until you fired her! then they got Annette who it sounds like shes working as a full time nurse, and now floor. I feel sorry for Tarja i really do! Tuomas and i wouldnt be able to get along trust me. Nightwish should have discontinued after the Fireing of Tarja! Im sorry but it should have! in my eyes Nightwish is. (Nightwish 1996-2005)
@@kalebschultz I have zero disagreement with you besides the premise........ hot take incoming; if tuomas wasn't such a creepy dick, he'd be married to tarya. and I stand by that.
Oh yeah, this is my fav lineup from them for sure. I don't pick a favorite singer but I do love Tarja's outfits and stage presence far better. Glad you did this one, it deserves the attention!
I love Tarja's operatic vocals against the heavy distorted guitars, it is something else. Floor is more versatile for sure and a fantastic singer in her right. Can't pick one over the other, it is like picking between your children.
I will never pick between them. Tarja is the reason I started listening to them, Floor is the reason I still listen to them. They’re both amazing in my opinion ❤️
This performance is from their End of An Era DVD. It was filmed back in October of 2005 at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. It was the last show with this particular lineup. It is the same guy from Wacken, yes. His name is Empuu Vuorinen. I would highly recommend checking out their performance/cover of Walking In The Air (from the movie The Snowman) from their From Wishes To Eternity DVD, seeing as it's getting close to Christmas now. It's one of Tarja's best imo. 💜
Absolutely! Wasn't that magical? Ooh Sabina, it was great to see Tarja, but they all look so young! Was that 15 years ago? You recovered well after the small mishap, I didn't mind at all, proves it's real ;-)
Lots of emotion that night 15 YEARS AGO! 1. This was the last gig of the tour 2. This was the biggest headline gig Nightwish had done before 3. Band knew that this is the last time with Tarja (she didn´t know that) 4. Band went to hiatus after that night
Thoroughly enjoyed this reaction..thanks for giving both artists their own reaction... truly two unique individuals. Deep Silent Complete is another great Tarja reaction song.
If you want to explore the Nightwish catalog you will need to listen to the same song more than once, in different versions. Most of Floor's performances are not songs she originally recorded. Nightwish has 9 studio albums, 5 with Tarja, 2 with Anette and 2 with Floor. The three singers have completely different voices and styles, so the same song gains a completely different energy depending on who is singing. Tarja has countless incredible performances. "Dead boy's poem", recorded on the dvd "From wishes to eternity", is one of them. However, for me, the most iconic performance that Tarja did with Nightwish was that of the song "The Phantom of the Opera", recorded on the dvd "End of an era".
Tarja is a musical performer with extraordinary talent. And your emotion Sabina for great music exudes and multiplies through your passion for the music! Great reaction!
Hi Sabina! I really liked your reaction, Thank you! Although Tuomas composed the music and wrote the lyrics, the vocal arrangements were created by Tarja, and as you pointed out her voice is more classical, but it is actually a really Big dark and Loud voice so the backround choir and instruments were in fact much louder in Tarja's version (compared to the latter ones), and even nowadays Tarja really enjoys to harmonize with her own backing vocals. For exemple, in January of 2020 instead of having them pre-recorded (like on this video) she actually had 3 backround singers for her more recent Bucharest and Prague concerts (filmed for a future Dvd). One Nightwish song that is a really good exemple of this harmonizing with her own backround vocals by Tarja is the begining of "Dark Chest of Wonders" where she always sung over the higher choral parts at the begining (a bit similiar to that little part you said you missed on this one), and no other Nightwish singer did that after (here it is the video: ua-cam.com/video/Hj6dUCQfSoI/v-deo.html ). In the case of Ghost Love Score, with Tarja the final climax goes to the orchestra and choir as she gives a lot of space for the other parts to shine, while Floor decided to give her own twist to the song and I think she also did it really well but it gives me tottaly different vibes, so I actually like Both: in my opinion Tarja shines more in the first half of the song, while Floor puts more effort in the second half (fortunately I've got the chance to see both Tarja and Floor in concert)... Overall the sound of this version matches much more with the album's original concept for the song, and you can hear much more details in the mix, as you noticed. Out of curiosity, this was already the 14th song of this concert setlist, and Tarja went for a small pause and wardrobe change at the end, she would eventually come back to sing other four songs. If you want a great nightwish song finalle with Tarja & Marco in FULL POWER it is definetly The Phantom of the Opera Live at the End of an Era (this same concert). BUT I would recomend you to watch firstly a more recent live performance by Tarja, where she sings not only in classical style but also mixes different techniques and creates a really theatrical effect (It's a Muse Cover btw): ua-cam.com/video/wmMBI_0X3oE/v-deo.html ; I hope you enjoy that one, and I leave you also a link to an Amazing Stargazers Live performance by Tarja (this probably the Best version Ever of the song played and sung in its Original Key): ua-cam.com/video/2Hl2ibaUvcQ/v-deo.html (it starts at 40.56min); Finally, just if you are curioous of how Tarja is composing her own music now outside Nightwish sound, here I leave a third and final sugestion: ua-cam.com/video/tv4XWkTWQ0M/v-deo.html I hope you have a good time listening to these ones, and I wish you all the Best! Cheers from Portugal!
I totally agree that the vibe of Tarja is like a witch while floor vibe like a warrior. Many of us started listening Nightwish on there Tarja era on late 90s and early 2000s. Maybe today its not that impressive to hear Tarja, specially since Floor owned some of her songs to hersefl like GLS. But imagine being in the early 2000s and hear a song like this, its completely mind blowing, nothing on that time could comprare. I remember wanting to hear some metal mixed with cinematic scores and clasical instruments, and then bum, nightwish appear, it was a pivot point in music for me, and for many others. Thats why it was so heart broken and sad, when they didnt find a way to continue together and desided to dismiss Tarja. For what i heard of her, she decided to left Nightwish to pursue a solist path, she saw the potential, and probably thought it was a good idea. So the band already knew she was leaving them, and they pacted to do it by the end of the 2005 tour. What shocked Tarja and many Nightwish fans who love her, was the open letter for dismissal. Actually the way Tarja found this was probably the worst possible, she was doing a press thing (not sure who is called in english), and in the middle of that, she found out about the open letter, it was an scandal in the heavy metal industry, becouse that year they broke record of any kind, their music was getting popular and so on, and sudenly they almost got broke becouse of that. Actually you can youtube search the video where a jurnalyst reveal to Tarja in the middle of the interview, about the letter, and she reads it in front of the camera and start crying. I may be misunderstanding parts of this telenovela, of course, it was 15 years ago and i was a teenager back then. But gad dam it, i hated Nightwish for years for doing that, specially in that way. And many others hated Nightwish becouse of that, for doing it more hard for everyone. If Tarja was leaving, whats the point in fire her? That was just incredible at the moment. And if i how never saw them live. Imagine how the more close fans thought about it. The so called "Nightwish army" was split, half support Tarja, half support the band. And when Annet Olzon joined for lead singer, pretty much all Tarja fans thought Nigthwish was dead. Well thats why Floor Floorgasmed so many, we thought nightwish was dead, but the warrior princes angel came to the rescue. At the begining i didnt feel convinced about her, and at some point i still dont, but at least she gived life again to something dead. I know this is a long commet, sorry for that. By the way, if you feel ready to try another huge symphonic band for the future, try out EPICA, you cant miss with them, but you are aware, they are more heavy than Nightwish xD.
Every time you see any song from End of Era concert, remember that everyone on the stage but Tarja knew that Tarja is going to be kicked from the band after that night.
I’m not even going to say my experience with this very thing is anywhere close to what Tarja felt. However, I drummed with a band for just over a year. Practiced twice a week and played every Friday and Saturday. One Saturday night show, the whole vibe on stage was off. I couldn’t figure it out. Lead guitar/vocalist and bass player wouldn’t look at me at all during our 90 minute set. I didn’t know when we were starting or ending songs. I kept trying to get their attention. Nothing. As soon as we were done, they packed up their gear faster than I’d ever seen. By the time I was done tearing down and loaded up my gear in my truck, they were both gone. I got a call the next day from the lead singer and was told I was out. No reason at all. I still had to get my practice kit from his house the next day. He opened the door to his garage, told me not to steal any of his gear, and walked back inside his house. That was it. So bizarre for me.
Sad to say you won't find a high quality live version like this, but "Beauty of the Beast" is a truly exceptional piece from the Tarja era. I really hoped that Floor would pick it up someday for the lineup.
This is a basic masterpiece and it took Tarja who showed her the way for Floor to build the most beautiful song in the world.I haven’t listened to the Floor version for a long time saying it couldn’t be better Well I was wrong I don't know how it could be but Floor flew the song between the stars
Floor does an amazing job of covering this, but Tuomas wrote/arranged this specifically for Tarja's voice and style. Anything else is simply that, a cover.
Really nice to see someone doing this version as well, thank you! Even though Floors version is my favorite and I listen to it all the time, I still sometimes feel like listening the original version, cause it's amazing on it's own merit. And as much as I love Floors Wacken -version, it actually has one little minus for me: you can't hear the choir well enough during the chorus, which I think is an essential part of the song. Some reactors don't even realise there is a choir. But Floors incredible performance still raises the song to an even higher level for me. Dead Boys Poem would be very good choice for next Tarja-reaction. Her voice in that song is just incredible.
Thank you for taking the time to check this versión, an honnor for the one who love this versión. Deep silent complete live from the dvd from whishes to eternity is good one from Tarja.
We've all come to fall in love with Floor's interpretation of GLS, especially her signature ending finale that she created. None moreso than me!! But, yet, whenever I go back and re-listen to this version with Tarja it reminds me all over again of how much I still love this one precisely because of its differences and uniqueness. Not only Tarja's different interpretation but also the stage show differences and the mixing and editing of the DVD. As always, absolutely love your reactions and style!
Tarja is like Snowhite after becoming the queen. Floor is like an Amazon Queen :) And Anette is like a purring cat in the armpit, a wild cat though. Tarja's voice is like a flute, Floor's voice is like all the strings. For me it depends which I want to hear. Floor makes be feel like a warrior who can blaze the trail ahead with np, I'm ready for the extra mile or 2, or 10. Anette makes me feel like by the fire place of an inn. Tarja makes me dream, fly the milky ways - makes me a skywalker.
That is one of the most profound assessments of the differences between the singers I've ever heard. You said what I could not. I love when you said Tarja makes me dream, fly the milky ways and makes me a Skywalker. But of course, only people like you and I would know that, being that we have listened to nightwish from album #1 onwards.
It was the young man who ran a cybercafé who introduced me to the band in 1998, and it was Tarja who drews me to Nightwish. So I would always have a preference for her, but I like Floor a lot too. I like your sentence: "Tarja is like a gothic witch and Floor a warrior". That's really it :)
2:56 totally agree, Tarja leaves that extra beat and then comes in with more of a fade in on her voice, lending a hole new mournful tone to the operatics. I love both of their versions so much.
Very strange. Every time Floor belts the high note I'm totally floored. Great joy for me while watching "first time reacting" videos is to see the reaction on that high note. All the rest is the build up to come there. In Tarja's version that high note does not exist, and Sabina and all those who wrote the comments here did not even mention it. How is this possible?
I've been a Nightwish fan since 1997. Sadly, instead of just enjoying both versions, people wanna make it a contest and have a winner. I look at it this way. Both singers do a kick ass job, but the song doesn't belong to either of them. It belongs to Tuomas. So... Thank You, Tuomas! 😁🤘❤🤘
i love them both.. these women are just magnificent ...but i dont think Tarja can deliver a performance as good as Floor does in this song,.. and also. Floor cant delifer what Tarja does in the Phantom..but none the less.. I fucking truly love them for what they gave to this world.
I saw Nightwish for the first time on November 30, 1999 at the opening for the concert of the group Rage, in the untertown in Meyrin, Geneva. A small room for around 200-300 spectators. This is probably the best and most intimate Nightwish concert I have seen.
Glorious and majestic. I've always loved the orchestral arrangement of the album track and the choral backing here gives me serious shivers. It really shines it all it's glory at the end. And the clear piano sound in the quiet bits is also a thing of exquisite beauty.
Tarja's solo albums and her two Doom gothic Metal dvd's are perfect works of art , for a few years she was a singer on wonderful symphonic metal records with nightwist but thank god she returned to the music style that love her ¡¡¡ greeting from Argentina .
Thank you, Sabina, for my first time experiencing Nightwish. Beautiful, really. For some reason it reminds me of the Sami (I've been thinking about their Sami Daiddamusea work and dreams), maybe the magical quality. As a Dear, I trust you to introduce me and my friends to great music, and of course you do!
End of an Era always guts me because of the sheer production value and the best live mixing Nightwish has had to date -- but you can absolutely tell that both Marco and Tarja were throroughly sick in this concert. Both of them were scurrying off stage between songs to throw up, and that does a number on your throat but also on your general energy levels and ability to perform. The quality of vocals in the concert goes down hard at a certain point, but there are real gems on it: The Siren, The Phantom of the Opera, Creek Mary's Blood... by Nemo, you just hear both vocalists running on fumes, doing their absolute best, but sick as dogs. It breaks my heart every time, especially how it was their last show. Still, if I could sing like this, even without throwing up after 12 hrs, I wouldn't call it a loss, haha.
A friend suggested I try Nightwish around 2008 or so, on Annette's watch. I listened and liked, so I'm no stranger to Tarja's voice, as I never bothered to learn about the band and only knew there were two singers. Listening to this now, I realize why I was never as thoroughly absorbed by NW as I am now. I couldn't understand the lyrics with Tarja's voice. I enjoy opera, and go into it without expectations of suddenly knowing Italian (for example). But the songwriting is one of the superior aspects of NW (thank you, Tuomas, et al) and I have never been able to grasp the words half as well with other singers as when Floor sings. Tarja's voice is strong and beautiful. No question. She just doesn't deliver the clarity Floor does, and for me that is a crucial component. Cheers.
Personally, although I think Tarja has a great voice, I prefer the emotion and warmth that Floor puts into her performance plus her stage presence is better. Thank you for doing your reactions ( first time or not), keep them coming.
@Mike Thomas I completely agree. Floor really brings the audience into the song via her emotion and her interaction with the crowd. It feels more personal in a way. I think that is one of Floor's best qualities is the ability to draw the audience in, no matter the song she is singing. Floor has a way of really connecting with the audience no matter if it is just 5 to 7, people, thousands of people, or millions of people via UA-cam.
So great to see this version live. Tarja is amazing and the band is sooooo tight. Wacken is and will always be my favorite, but so great revisiting this.
I love this song with Tarja, she makes me feel like I'm in a theater. her voice is amazing and interpretive. she did not feel well in that show, she had a fever and wanted to sing anyway. she retires quickly for that reason and aside she goes to change the wardrobe. I hope you choose more songs with her in NW or from her solo career like supremacy (cover) or victim of ritual in Woodstock but you have a great variety of songs
That and relations between her and the band were at an all time low. They didn't even talk to each other backstage at this point, the only one she was still friends with was Emppu (she gave him a hug on their way backstage).
In the instrumental part she did not sing live but she recorded it, she does her own choirs. but obviously they are 2 different versions and many years between them.
As much as I love Tarja, Floor kills this and makes it so much better. if you want an amazing performance with Tarja, check out Sleeping sun from this concert. Wow its beautiful
ua-cam.com/video/ivG7yGuC6t4/v-deo.html Min 1:35 Floor : "It's A Very Difficult Song To Sing! I decided to sing the ending differently. has evolved gradually" they are friends, they have sung together, both are excellent in their styles that are absolutely different. magnificent floor in its style. I feel that Tarja has a much richer, deeper and more complete vocal expression. It almost seems a bit easier for Tarja to perform the song itself. I'm sure that's the case, because of the richness it is capable of bringing out, the timbre of its tone, it seems a little more relaxed.
I have listened to Nightwish and Tarja for many many years. I love seeing how you react to their jobs, and thinking that music can connect us all in so many ways. I recommend 'Sleeping sun' and 'ever dream' from Nightwish's end of an era concert. And from Tarja's solo career, 'Into the sun' and 'You would have loved this', beautiful for Christmas. Greetings from Mexico
Thank you Sabina, great reaction! I am new to Nightwish, I only discovered them when UA-cam started recommending them because of all the reactions to Ghost Love Score Wakken 2013 with Floor. I don't have a history with this band, and some of the people that will read this do, and I suspect will crucify me for my opinion, but here it is. Floor is better. Is Tarja talented? Yes, very much so. But she is also strange, as if she is some sort of ancient vampire who has ignored musical progression and taken the stage in modern times. She just seems cold and alien to me and gives me vibes of Anne Rice's vampire chronicles. On the other hand, Floor is warm, powerful and war-like, a Valkyrie that has been looking down from Asgard and watching what we mere mortals are vibing to and thinks, "I'm going to drop in and explode the minds of these pathetic creatures." If any of you diehard fans want to throw fecal responses go ahead, Floor makes me cry every time I hear her performance and Tarja just seems frigid and alien. And that makes sense after learning about the bands hisrtory.
Tarja is very strong and beautiful dark soprano, I love her voice so much. She can much, much more, you should react something from her solo career. She said that on Nightwish she couldn't sing what she wanted, it wasn't until her first solo album that she could use the full scale of her voice and skill. Since then, Tarja has been constantly practicing singing, not only operatic, but also more rock singing. Her low notes are great, you can hear perfectly the dark timbre of her voice in that. :)
Yes, the guitarist, Emppu, is still with the band. His hair was a lot sweatier in the Floor version, and in that particular video he looks much older. If you want to recognise him in his more mischievous ways, “Storytime” from the same concert is my favourite song of theirs, and the Wacken one my favourite version. Emppu is a prankster. He likes playing tricks on his bandmates. During “I want my tears back” you can see him walking behind Floor and messing with her in-ear monitors, sometimes unplugging and sometimes changing the volume. The story told to me suggests that Floor replaced his beer with apple juice as revenge in one of those shows, which he absolutely hates. I really like watching you discover and explore Nightwish. I enjoy you, even though I have not watched a large amount of your videos (I am not ready to explore Dimash or Jinjer yet, for example! Never heard them, saving them for later!). Keep being you and keep doing the type of content *you* want to do, how you want to do it. I really enjoy your style of reacting and describing how you are feeling the music. But please, more Nightwish. They are a gift that keeps on giving.
If you want to make a Tarja video. Checkout Swanheart from the Wishes to Eternity tour. That song is something you don't hear from Nightwish anymore and is probably the best Tarja song ever.
Tarja was their original vocalist and was with them from 1997 to 2005. As you can tell, her range is more in the operatic realm. But one draw back to Tarja's vocals is her Finnish accent, which comes thru in singing English vocals. Which draws out the vocal runs a bit more. Floor, who is Dutch, doesn't have that accent problem as much, so her vocals come off much clearer, imo.
Actually, it's not so much Tarja's accent as it is the fact that she's more of a classical operatic style singer. And that's not a fault, it's by design! It was tarja's style and classical influence that was the inspiration for the entire concept of Nightwish. Had there been no Tarja, and had she not been classically trained, Nightwish would never have happened. Watch the End of Innocence DVD. On it tuomas recounts the founding of the band to Jukka. He explains that the initial idea was for him and Emppu to do a folk music project and they would ask Tarja to join in as their vocalist. However, while the two of them had been serving in the Finnish military, Tarja had been studying and training as a classical singer. As such, her vocal style and power was much different from the little girl they had know in high school. Anyway, when they actually began to work together on the project they found this out and decide to go in an entirely different direction, a mix of heavy metal combined operatic, heavily classical influenced vocals. That mix is what became the original Nightwish.
Update. Lead guitar is Empu ( founder). bass/Male vocals Marko 2001 -2021. Jakku 2001. Then retired from drumming in 2014?) Tuomas keyboard, writer, original male singer. (Founder), Tarja (founder -2005). Only Empu and Tuomas still active with the band and performing to this day.
Yes you can´t compare Tarja and Floor, they are very different singers. I really like Tarja, probably the reason I first started listening to Nightwish. But Floor has something special, she brings me to tears everytime she sings. Her voice, energy and presence is amazing, beyond words. Best singer/voice I´ve ever heard.
I absolutely love this original version of this song. Tarja`s round, operatic sound is so beautiful, her lower range is more resonant compared to Floor`s lighter sound. I love her style, her stage presence. Please react to Phantom of the opera from the same end of an era concert, Supremacy (Muse cover) with Tarja alone in Woodstock 2016 and Oasis in Argentina 2013. I bet you will love those. Stay safe.
The guitarist is Emmpu, he use to do martial arts. As other people have commented this was the last show they did with Tarja. They went to another lead singer Anette, then to Floor. To understand, more of the transition from Anette to Floor, watch “Learn the set list in 48 hours.” I believe that is the correct title, or close to it. Floor was with the band for a short time before the Wacken performance that you reacted to earlier. All three singers are different, Thoumas (I hope I don’t get auto corrected and I hope I wrote his name correctly. He is the keyboardist) wrote songs based on the singers.
I hope you will continue in discovering Tarja era NW. I would love to hear you reacting to "Everdream" with Tarja from the same concert "End of an Era" . Thank you for the reaction, is awesome!
Tarja is Queen and Floor is Valkyrie! I love both very much! Floor is a little ahead for me. PP. Sabina, I see you're from Denmark. I'm a big fan of the Vikings and everything related to them - you can count me as a friend. I hope someday I can come to Copenhagen and see the Viking Museum, it's my dream!
I love Emppu in this performance. He is the biggest diva here... My favourite songs with Tarja are "Dead to the World", "Ever Dream" and the one that got me into Nightwish in the first place, "Pharaoh Sails to Orion".
hi Sabina, thank you for reacting Nightwish with Tarja Turunen😊👍💕 I was introduced to Nightwish back in 1999. Tarja has her own solo career, please react to one of her songs. Cheers Jesper Nielsen
Whatever you’ve heard sang by Floor from the early albums, in not even close of what you imagine. Any songs prior to 2006 are best when sang by Tarja. Nightwish sound was based around her voice. She’s not the witch but the real life Siren. Do The Siren next and close your eyes to hear the calling
Great reaction! This was 2005. This song was from “Once” their latest album at the time. It was new, fresh, exciting and the last show for Tarja in NW. Floor at Wacken was 2013 and she was only in the band for a few months and not an official member yet. Just filling in to finish out the tour schedule as there was issues with Anette. They are true professionals putting on a great show even though behind the scenes they were probably feeling uneasy about the circumstances of that time.
Hogwash. The chorus was the crown jewel of Ghost Love Score, she left to give the chorus and band a chance to shine alone. She was giving them their moment. It's actually like being polite. Where do you people even get your ideas from lol?
Be Blessed that whe have Floor for NW.. otherwise NW has died, when Annet leave. There is no Game for best singer. Only that NW stay in our LIFE. I love you Reaction,so simply and lovely. Keep on doing this, all the best
Both versions are amazing They are very good friends, they haven’t any absurd competition, Tarja is magic and moving on stage and Floor is power and strenght. You have to react to ThePhantomOfTheOpera. Same show with Tarja 🙏
The guitar player was and is Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen. He's still today playing the purple ESP EV-1 guitar. The only difference is that Emppu was obviously much younger in 2005.
Gotta love Emppu, he is such a laugh whatever he does, I am not sure he knows how to be depressed... I mean I'm sure he does, but he has so much positive energy and such a playful tendency it is just a pleasure to watch. Yes he was in the Wacken concert, with the same guitar.. I think you should check out Tarja singing Wishmaster
I grew up with tarja, when she left oc i was skeptical and discovered that i love nightwish no matter what! Followed anette and when i listend floor oc she had to win me over, which she did with ghost love score ! I cried with her special ending so blessed!
Tarja is so wonderful in her songs, as is Floor. Dont forget Annette. She's amazing on the songs that was written for for her. Sadly this performance was Tarja's last with the band. She was sacked just after. :( She had said that she was leaving the band after the next album, to pursue her solo career. Annette took over & found that the songs that were written for Tarja a little tricky but still brilliant. The lead Guitarist Empu is still in the band but disappointingly they didnt show him as much in the Floor one. The floor video strangely had him walking along & touching each of the band. Tuomas & Empu are the only two from the original Nightwish band. I think that your the first to react to Tarja. So well done :) \m/ Take a listen to the Siren, or Phantom of the Opera, with Tarja
Feels weird watching people compare tarja to floor, instead of the other way around.
I mean.... This sound and tarja's operatic singing are the reason nightwish exists today, period... its why the whole world fell in love with them.
FUCKING AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another biased fan :)
I agree in any word
When Floor sings it, it's called Floorgasm, when Tarja sings it, there's no word to describe
super interesting

Walking in the Air and Ever Dream for me,also Over the hills and Far Away

I Will love to listen walking in the Air with floor once in my lifetime
Walking in the Air, the last part, is my top3 of Nightwish, together with next coming Sleeping Sun and Sleepwalker
Everyone has such a Floor boner.
la era de oro de Nightwish. Tarja magnífica e impecable cómo de costumbre.
Ups...Summer Breeze is still on construction...it was Lowlands =)
My all time favorite! Love Tarja's voice so much.
❤ I love Tarja's voice, is so unique and magical, her energy and the way she dances. She's like a angel and in the same time a gothic goddess.

For this song a simple question will answer all questions: what would GLS be without the belting climax at the end?
@@topneorej The great song it's always been ever since Once came out and made so many people love the song, including me.

Perhaps the only one, or one of two, I've seen that mentioned it.
Yes... There was something more Gothic and mysterious back in those days... Tarja's voice was distant, yet so warm. And her heavy accent made it more distinct...

By my guess Tarja brings much more contrast to that metal background than Floor. That's why Tarja & Nightwish were absolutely unique.

I agree! I like only those songs from Floor that were written to her voice, that Tarja didn't sing in front of her!
Floor singing this song is amazing, is totally beautiful, but Tarja is another level, in all songs, her voice is like an Angel.....
Floor is weak singing this song! The new songs and songs they did with Annette were ment for floor not these older songs
@@kalebschultzthank you! Not even saying all the old songs...but this? No, this song is tarja's.

I wont be going back to listen to Nightwish anymore because what he is doing is plain disrespectful!
Haha, well said!!
I will never pick between them. Tarja is the reason I started listening to them, Floor is the reason I still listen to them. They’re both amazing in my opinion ❤️
Indeed
I have it the opposite way: Tarja is the reason I did not start listening to Nightwish, Floor is the reason I started listening to them.
Sorry tarja is just pompous and annoying
This performance is from their End of An Era DVD. It was filmed back in October of 2005 at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. It was the last show with this particular lineup. It is the same guy from Wacken, yes. His name is Empuu Vuorinen.
I would highly recommend checking out their performance/cover of Walking In The Air (from the movie The Snowman) from their From Wishes To Eternity DVD, seeing as it's getting close to Christmas now. It's one of Tarja's best imo. 💜
Both are queens of their art, different and magnificent. Excellent review.
Yes they are! and thanks a lot ☺️
Absolutely! Wasn't that magical?
Ooh Sabina, it was great to see Tarja, but they all look so young!
Was that 15 years ago?
You recovered well after the small mishap, I didn't mind at all, proves it's real ;-)
Lots of emotion that night 15 YEARS AGO!
1. This was the last gig of the tour
2. This was the biggest headline gig Nightwish had done before
3. Band knew that this is the last time with Tarja (she didn´t know that)
4. Band went to hiatus after that night
Thoroughly enjoyed this reaction..thanks for giving both artists their own reaction... truly two unique individuals.

Yeees please react to the Phantom of the Opera with Tarja ♥
Such a breath of fresh air to see a reaction to Tarja singing this. This live version will forever be my favourite.
Anything from From Wishes to Eternity is absolute gold. End of an Era and Live at Raumanmeri (2003) are extremely wealthy in great performances too.
Out of curiosity, this was already the 14th song of this concert setlist, and Tarja went for a small pause and wardrobe change at the end, she would eventually come back to sing other four songs. If you want a great nightwish song finalle with Tarja & Marco in FULL POWER it is definetly The Phantom of the Opera Live at the End of an Era (this same concert). BUT I would recomend you to watch firstly a more recent live performance by Tarja, where she sings not only in classical style but also mixes different techniques and creates a really theatrical effect (It's a Muse Cover btw): ua-cam.com/video/wmMBI_0X3oE/v-deo.html ;
I hope you enjoy that one, and I leave you also a link to an Amazing Stargazers Live performance by Tarja (this probably the Best version Ever of the song played and sung in its Original Key): ua-cam.com/video/2Hl2ibaUvcQ/v-deo.html (it starts at 40.56min);
Finally, just if you are curioous of how Tarja is composing her own music now outside Nightwish sound, here I leave a third and final sugestion: ua-cam.com/video/tv4XWkTWQ0M/v-deo.html
I hope you have a good time listening to these ones, and I wish you all the Best! Cheers from Portugal!

Thanks and welcome!!
¡¡Oh God!! Tarja is a Metal Goddess and this version is epic, great, unforgettable.
Every time you see any song from End of Era concert, remember that everyone on the stage but Tarja knew that Tarja is going to be kicked from the band after that night.
Guess the ambiance was down enough for such an act... which is easily understandable given the concept
Wha... D:
Ouch! That's got to hurt.
Did it show with the intensity? I think so, close-ups of Tuomas are moody.
@@GhostDrummer OMG. Didn't you ever get a reason for a such act?
Sabina, don't cry, my tears are flowing, Tarja has such a wonderful voice, I adore that woman :)
Sad to say you won't find a high quality live version like this, but "Beauty of the Beast" is a truly exceptional piece from the Tarja era. I really hoped that Floor would pick it up someday for the lineup.
This is a basic masterpiece and it took Tarja who showed her the way for Floor to build the most beautiful song in the world.I haven’t listened to the Floor version for a long time saying it couldn’t be better Well I was wrong I don't know how it could be but Floor flew the song between the stars
when i am feeling so down,i came to this channel and listen this song,i love the way you enjoy this song
Floor does an amazing job of covering this, but Tuomas wrote/arranged this specifically for Tarja's voice and style. Anything else is simply that, a cover.
I agree with you... This song is more suitable with tarja voice
Aww Tarja is a queen. What a voice! So dramatic. My fav is The siren, with Tarja. And Please, Wishmaster, one of the best song of Nightwish
Thanks for sharing! 😘
Interesting take... like it! ;)
Floor is like a Valkyrie Queen, that's more accurate 🤟
End of an Era was a swan song for the band because it was never the same since
Very strange.
💜
I doubt it would ever happen, but I would love to see both of them duet this.
@@MRIDE2 they haven’t done this one but they did Over The Hills ❤️❤️
i love them both.. these women are just magnificent ...but i dont think Tarja can deliver a performance as good as Floor does in this song,.. and also. Floor cant delifer what Tarja does in the Phantom..but none the less.. I fucking truly love them for what they gave to this world.
Although the belting climax was 100% Floor's idea. And when are all reactors to this song blown away the most? Yes, the end climax.
The concert that i will never forget!
I saw Nightwish for the first time on November 30, 1999 at the opening for the concert of the group Rage, in the untertown in Meyrin, Geneva. A small room for around 200-300 spectators. This is probably the best and most intimate Nightwish concert I have seen.
I love both. They are just different greatness.
Glorious and majestic. I've always loved the orchestral arrangement of the album track and the choral backing here gives me serious shivers. It really shines it all it's glory at the end. And the clear piano sound in the quiet bits is also a thing of exquisite beauty.
Yes, on point!!
Yes!! Please react to Phantom of the Opera Live from Nightwish too if you can 😊 love the reactions 💗
Cheers.
Also: Your channel, your "rules."
Personally, although I think Tarja has a great voice, I prefer the emotion and warmth that Floor puts into her performance plus her stage presence is better.
Thank you for doing your reactions ( first time or not), keep them coming.
Thanks! I know what you mean! More will come! 😍
I think floor has a better stage presence but I feel a lot more emotion from Tarja.
Finally the reaction I was waiting for haha. Every comment. Old school Nightwish vibe. haha. Love!!
Oh my god yes... i was there. Memories. End of an era. I'm crying.
So great to see this version live. Tarja is amazing and the band is sooooo tight.
Wacken is and will always be my favorite, but so great revisiting this.
We all know the answer to the question of whether Floor or Tarja is better singer: It's Marko, the Bass player! ;-)
Love this song! Tarja is amazing!!!! The best!
As much as I love Tarja, Floor kills this and makes it so much better. if you want an amazing performance with Tarja, check out Sleeping sun from this concert. Wow its beautiful
I commented the same ❤️❤️
Agreed. Floor is still singing while Tarja has her feet up backstage here.

I feel that Tarja has a much richer, deeper and more complete vocal expression. It almost seems a bit easier for Tarja to perform the song itself. I'm sure that's the case, because of the richness it is capable of bringing out, the timbre of its tone, it seems a little more relaxed.
hearing this song in a live performance always bring a tear to my eye!
I had the opportunity to saw them live back in 2005. The best concert experience I ever had!!!
Finally 😍😍!! Told you 😘😘!!!
Yes!! 😘
I was in an audience watching a production of this in 2004 in Nottingham, UK. It was magical, especially when the confetti came down 🙂
Tarja was their original vocalist and was with them from 1997 to 2005.
Floor commands me when listening. I love her energy.
Stay safe.
This song version,. Give me goosebumps ,power and soul ❤❤❤ love
🤘🤘🤘 It was the most fantastic concert ever! Unfortunately it was the End of an Era!😪
When your camera died, I died with it...
Love remember Tarja,, she,s an amazing singer my favourite singer girl... She is the only singer who can makes me cry❤️
My favourite songs with Tarja are "Dead to the World", "Ever Dream" and the one that got me into Nightwish in the first place, "Pharaoh Sails to Orion".
hi Sabina, thank you for reacting Nightwish with Tarja Turunen😊👍💕
I was introduced to Nightwish back in 1999.
Tarja has her own solo career, please react to one of her songs.
Cheers Jesper Nielsen
TARJA! 👍🤘💗😊
WooooW yesss like her !!!!! The band is great !!!
This song is simply epic in both versions. Goosebumps !!
10:53 she goes away and leaves!! So disrespectful to the band and the fans of Nightwish.
true that!
Tarja went to change the wardrobe for the next song, apart she had a fever and did not feel well
ah :_
Tarja is a Goddes 👍🤩
Tarja is so wonderful in her songs, as is Floor. Dont forget Annette. She's amazing on the songs that was written for for her.
Sadly this performance was Tarja's last with the band. She was sacked just after. :(
She had said that she was leaving the band after the next album, to pursue her solo career.
So well done :) \m/
Take a listen to the Siren, or Phantom of the Opera, with Tarja
I like how they change up the same song with different nuances concert to concert. Both Tarja and Floor kick ass!
