By no means do you have to support but Mrs. Gibson and I really appreciate the support as it goes a long way since most of these videos are copyrighted or blacklisted by YT. Lots of time goes into recording, editing, researching, and providing encouraging words throughout each reaction/review so this is an OPTION for those that are able to do so. DO NOT if finances are tight and priorities need to be taken care of first.

You have to check out Twelve Foot Ninja "one hand killing" you will not be disappointed
Use me as " react to system of a down - toxicity" button

Also please react to Dragonforce .
@@thehunter7422 and el bato de los fandubs baratos know... sugar!
RIP. It got taken down for copywrite, i think, dont @ me on that.
@@blyattgaming4994 I'm @ing you on that
Yes. I am like 666 for this comment 😈
That chorus wasn't exactly meant to be taken literally:
"Everybody's going to the party" = all the countries that took part in the Iraq war.
"Dancing in the desert, blowing up the sunshine" = taking over the country by bombing the shit out of it.
Boy, this makes me feel old. I remember at the time the messaging was pretty on the nose: the sons and daughters of the poor are sent to die and kill in foreign wars over resources to serve the interests of the upper class. All the while they feed us "lies from the tablecloth" about what a great honor it is to serve... which is a lie because you serve a master that feeds you on scraps from the table and views your life as valueless... "and we don't live in a fascist nation."
I could go on - "kneeling roses disappearing into Moses's dry mouth" comes across to me as a way of saying those who still mourn (kneeling roses) are destroyed in the middle east (Moses' dry mouth). This album came out in early 2005 - about two years after the start of the Iraq war and 3ish years after 9/11. The politics of the Global War on Terror was heavy. Sad to say I think most of what they have to say still rings true.
Anyway, it's a great song, and folks can disagree about the politics but I will always remember how refreshing and off-kilter SOAD was in their prime.
Shit I never made that connection. My interpretation was that the song was kind of symbolizing how the US are fighting all these wars, sending their own people to their deaths while fighting unjust wars meant to fill the pockets of the politicians and upper class, while the general public pays no attention because they are distracted by material interests. Going to parties, pop music, the latest blockbuster films and buying all those designer clothes are occupying people's attention span while their less fortunate brothers and sisters are sent to fight meaningless wars.
I should have looked at the words more carefully.
@@baverfjant - Hence the "bring your own bombs" metaphor.
@@Module79L Yeah it makes a lot of sense. I guess I never actually sat down and looked at the whole lyrics and the words. I feel like I still got the same "Lesson" out of it though so no harm done :)
Exactly!
"How we end up in a club, we were just marching" lmao
"Why don't presidents fight the war? Why do they always send the poor?"
The members of SOAD are originally from Armenia. That will probably help explain why much of their music is heavily political. Their soil is rich with blood from the Armenian Genocide.
Prison Song is another great political song of theirs. It's about the War on Drugs and privatized, for-profit prisons in the U.S.
The “party” is referring to the “party” they had in Iraq
@Yurrahtowel funny
Wow...
BYOB is a crazy song. Cant wait how you will react Gibby.
As a member of the military in 2003...once I heard this song I listened to it on my bicycle commute every day to work to keep things in perspective. You’re spot on DGibby.
"Regardless of republican or democrat they're going to lie to get to the top. So you have to vote for who you believe is going to be the best, best version, from those liars"
Never have I heard a shorter, better description of American politics summed up haha fr.
Sugar- System of a Down. Off their 1st studio album. Back when Serj actually used his amazing voice. Oh and when they were all on drugs lmao. It's a great song.
Psycho tho 👀
@@syntheticreality549 that album is almost perfect I'd give x a lower rating then Pyscho
It’s sad to think how indifferent Serj was to a lot of the songs they made. Huge difference off that 1st album you’re so right
@@BenBanklin in his prime, he was absolutely one of the best. Spiders was fucking amazing, when the performed live on SNL, it was great. Like you said, that first album, his vocals were phenomenal
Do aerials next my opinion their best song. Love the riff in byob
Mind is my fav ststem song
Try to listen
Holy mountais

This song a deep meaning. And always makes me slow down to think.
@@zenkis1495 To me

@AwwwhYyyyeah Turn off the tv!!!!
The lyrics is "why do they always send the poor" but it sounds like "why do they always censor porn"😂😂😂
And now this song is about porn.

Bruh, prison song.
That is all.
Hahah Ye for sure
THEY'RE TRYING TO BUILD A PRISON!
Lonely Day by SOAD is good. Or Youth Of A Nation by POD is pretty good too. Its has a story and a message in the song.
I love "Lonely Day" ... It's got a simple but great message.
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time. Troops being sent out to fight our wars. Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine is pretty self explanatory. SOAD were ahead of their time
"how we end up in the club when we was just marching" deadddd
Chop suey was one of the best reactions you did so far....going to be hard to top that one...lets check this one out at 6...
If he liked chop suey he’s going to love BYOB. For your next reaction or a future one I’d like to see your react to “Rats” by Ghost. I’m sure you’d appreciate them and that song.
Yesss
Hell I got a bunch of bands to check out. I’ll throw out “Welcome Home” by Coheed and Cambria. After Rats of course
YES DO IT!!!!
I like how you always research the song beforehand, and when you hear some instrumentation you like, you instantly check out who it is that's behind it to give them a shoutout.
Great song choice! "Dancing in the desert, blowing up the sunshine" paints a picture of a war taking place in the desert with the sun being blocked out by the air-born smoke, sand and dust from all of the fires and explosions. An upbeat song with a dark message!
The slow jam part represents the people's indifference, much deeper then they get credit for
You got to check out Aerials by System of a Down such an underrated classic by them
Sam V I don’t think aerials is underrated, it’s one of their most popular songs. But yes he should listen regardless
@@Metalphan1990 Yeah def not underrated. It's a go-to for people getting into SOAD
Aerials is one of their most popular songs?
Josh Alexander I know people who do nothing but listen to metal and they would agree with me that it’s underrated in the metal community because it’s really arguable due to the sound of the song. A lot of people I know turn the other way whenever someone says Aerials is metal they just consider it rock music
Marksman24444 Aerials was their first number 1 hit and was nominated for a Grammy. So yeah pretty popular I think.
Yep, S.O.A.D were always politically and socially oriented. And yes, Toxicity is the right move to another iconic track.
Yuuuuus! This is gonna be so sic! This was the song I asked for! You're the best Gibby \m/
SOAD have a message and they really made sure you understood it with the accompanying videos. Always have love for SOAD ❤️❤️
Just got home from work and its storming like crazy! Gibby gang in the building! Let's do this d-gibby!
Looooving your reaction man!! You can feel the song down to the bone!🤗🤗🤗
System of the Down was way ahead of their time. Especially in times like this.
my parents have a video of me singing this when I was 4 on the way to preschool, now I'm 18 and in college. It's awesome to see how much system has influenced my entire life and every time I see someone else enjoying this song I get a glimpse of 4 y/o me rockin' out! Love your channel!! You should react to some more Korn or "Soldier Side" by System! :)
Soad always is hitting hard. And the musical transitions and tempo changes. Strong.
You nailed it on the club scene man, that's the whole point they were trying to make. All the people in the clubs dancing and just trying to have a good time, but a war is happening, and people are dying and they were trying to bring the two together so people understand the fear and the loss.
Also you mentioned that "someone was lying there's no snow in the dersert", that was a symbolic scene. The mention of the desert was talking about the physical location of the war in the middle east, and the snow as meant to symbolize the coldness of the action.
I've watched a handful of your reactions so far, I think you're pretty awesome, and seem pretty genuine. Keep going man.
Daron's ( the second vocalist/guitarist/bassist) screams are so good!! SO insane!
I was really big on SOAD a few years back (still think they're a phenomenal band, just have been checkin' out other stuff) And I've always interpreted the whole "Party" part of the song to be from the perspective of Presidents, Gunrunners, and anyone thats got any real power in a war. "Dancing in the desert" the battlefields of the middle east being the dancefloors. "Blowing up the sunshine" The smoke and debris from bombs and destruction covering up the skies, blowing up the sunshine as it hides it kind of like a cloud. The people in power are going to this "party", playing games, having fun, while the poor are sent down to act as pawns for wars which are just the "game" to the higher ups.
The chorus "everybody going to the party to have a real good time" as in every country going to war. "Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine " as in dropping bombs in the middle east.
They are all Armenian and they families have suffered through generations of war and genocide. Their main message in their music is anti war and very political. Keep exploring them they get better the more you listen to them.
^^this. I think you misread the sarcasm of the video about partying in the club. Close on the anti war idea but def what this sub posted was the idea.
BYOB here stands for Bring Your Own Bombs, as opposed to the regular Bring your own beer/booze. Song is describing (as far as I understand) the way that bigger countries see war against smaller ones a party (ref. "Dancing in the desert, blowing up the sunshine") and likely refers to the Iranian-American war. Also there are other lyrics describing other things that are awful and unfair in war like the "Why do they always send the poor" referring to the fact that in some cases the humble farmers are the ones who die first and in other cases (USA) where the government offers something like a tuition.
This song has one of my most favorite guitar rythem
Yes!!!! another SOAD you wont be disappointed with any of their songs .
He already heard that song.
1:47 had me in tears, first time someone hears it definitely don't expect it
Dude!!! I love your positive attitude!!!! I love watchin people that doubt metal watch it and love it.
Definitely have to do Toxicity and Aerials. Others that are super good... Sugar, Hypnotize, Spiders, Question!, Forest, Deer Dance.
I bet if i were to hang out with you for only a day, my depression would be completely gone. You're such and inspirational, motivational, and optimistic person!
Awwwwwww yeeeeeeeah, more SOAD! Lots of people requesting aerials, great song. Hypnotize, Dreaming, and Toxicity are probably their next most popular songs. If you like them changing up the tempo and vibe of the song you're gonna LOVE "Radio/Video" Don't see too many reactions to it unfortunately though.
So happy that i stumbled upon this channel :D
But I'm gonna recommend Týr - Hold the heathen hammer high :D It's a Faroese metal band, that do folk metal :) This would be one of their english songs :P
I know them :)
without fail you always make me chuckle whenever i check your vids out bro
The lyrics " dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine" is in reference to the nuclear testing out in the desert. The snow falling in the video is actually ash from the nuclear bombs
Oddly enough I remember listening to this one a lot, during the war.
Can't wait to see this one fam
Just found your channel but heck I love your vibe dude!! Second video I saw and I already subscribed!
D-GiBBY...I Love it...that you see the message in the music...n convey the positive n powerful feedback...this music makes me want to climb a mountain !!! Yeahhh 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Finally!... been waiting forever for Gibby to react to this dis song... Dayummm
You always put a smile on my face. You’re so funny!
I love seeing people reacting to this song lol seem them be caught off guard by all the switches and drops
Love that I caught the release live and got to chat with other Gibby fans. We all seem to agree that you need to try some Type 0 Negative; Christian Woman, My Girlfriend’s Girlfriend, and/or Black No. 1
"Dancing in the desert
Blowing up the sunshine" is a reference to war in the Middle east. This song basically denounces the Irak war that the US fought for decades
Love your reactions bro! If the rich always want to start wars, they should fight em themselves. Coming from a ARMY vet.
Watching From Brazil Man,your energy is fire
You've gotta do Kingdom by Devin Townsend. The Live EMG video. You're the man, bro. Keep up the good work!
Dude will be blown away tho.
Might be too metal for him 😉
Plz react to Nightmare by A7X bro c'mon. How many times do I have to ask.
Hopefully no more haha hope he reacts to it for you👍
A7X IS SO GOOD!
Hell yea my brother...7:32-7:38, YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!! I live in the hood and shootings happen every week. I will defend mine. Cool reaction. Bravo
My Man, watching u has become my guilty pleasure 😉 It's time for u to get funky dunky with some Primus Tommy the Cat😁 & get that mind 🤯!!! Can't wait😏 Much ♥️from Bama 🙋 💕
the live version to get a full grasp of Les's crazy skills on bass!
Excellent reaction! SOAD certainly has the energy to match your own! I also suggest Bismarck by Sabaton, I really think you’ll be blown away by the video and song. Great job, keep the reactions coming!
Ayyy Gibby, if you like SOAD I highly recommend the band Scars on Broadway. It's the band SOAD guitarist Darren Malakian put together after SOAD split up. They have a similar energy!
This! 2008 Scars sounds like a lot of drugs were involved, but 2018 Scars sounds amazing.
Awesome content.
Keep it going, brother.
we need to make gibby react to hollywood undead
im 100% sure hell vibe to it
EpicBrain needs to do Everywhere I Go 😂😂😂
Been catching up on older vids, if y'all like Jinjer needs to check out Straight Line Stitch. Everybody reacts to Black Veil but Remission is bangin' too. Keep doing what you doing bruh!
"How'd we end up in the club? We were just marching." ~DG
Best reaction I've seen to this song!!!
God bless are troops 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 active and retired. thank you for your service.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Love SOAD. Loved the reaction! Keep them coming: Aerials, Sugar, Forest, War, Prison Song!!
Bro your face said it all... one love fam
You sir have put respek on your name. For a first reaction you paid very close attention to the lyrics and the symbolism. A more calm song to listen to by them that are also amazing.. soldier side and my fav. Question!
4:44 I love the way He reacted to censored “fvck” part it’s so damn hilarious lmao as He having mind blown like defvck ? 🤣
We would bump this song before every convoy in Iraq... After we got back inside the wire:
Commander- how did it go?
Soldiers- sir, you missed the party!
Our way at throwing shade, low key, to the officers who never went outside the wire!!
Scars On Broadway - They Say
Second band by Daron Malakian Scars On Broadway - They Say
System Of A Down - Mind or Revenga
Energetic Reaction as always!
You know the party is going to be good when D - Gibby is in the house. Pound that freckle fist 👊
New to the channel, digging the uploads a lot man.. if you want to hear SOAD spit some real truth you should check out the prison song w/lyrics
Love what you do brother. Makes me happy to see someone get to enjoy tool for the first time. Check out the band Silent Theory, song fragile minds as well as the band Being As An Ocean, song Play pretend. These won't dissapoint
Iraqi war was based on lies. Literally. Bush and Blair lied to justify it. This song is ofc amazing considering artistic value but at the same time it's a perfect commentary to actual events that costed so many lives. It has a true meaning. We don't have many songs like this nowadays. SOAD was special in this regard.
No no no, you gotta let it play out to get the full effect from the transitions or you miss the perfection of that vocal. He is operatically trained.
Want a good anti war song....War Pigs by Black Sabbath from 1970 🤯. Love the reaction and commentary....totally agree, let those that start the wars battle it out and the the rest of us the fudge alone 😓
"Best version of the liar" might be the best description of a politician that i've ever heard. *applause*
How we in the club and we were just marching?
Best description of BYOB
Man I love your reactions, greetings from Perú!
The best way to describe the video is it shows what's really happening (the marching) and the act of war (the party) but it's also saying we dont need it. "We dont live in a fascist nation" is him saying there's no need for war since we are supposed to be free.
The energy in which you say @GiBBYgang reminds me of Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome
Subscribed your channel the other day after I binge watched the tool reactions videos. Then watched most of the other videos. You are great, I like your energy and quick wit. Keep it up.
Next song........
TOOL-TICKS AND LEACHES.
I know I may just be a new member to the Gibby gang. But gibby is right we need to have more love and peace and just more love and kindness in this world. With one act of random kindness or with one Ark we can change this world. Extend this offer to all my brothers and sisters here and in the Gibby game. If any of you need somebody to talk to a shoulder to cry on or someone to vent your frustrations to I got your back and gibby this offer is also to you. Your new brother to the Gibby gang it's got your back I love each and everyone of you God bless you all
We can't just "have peace". It all starts with understanding why we don't. Love and peace is great, but until you divert your mind to the solutions to making a path towards it, or somehow as a whole nation, you must delve deep into the darkness. Open your mind, spread your non-bias knowledge and make an effort. Praying and wishing will get you nowhere. In most cases the ones who will accept your love and kindness are the ones who already have it in their hearts as well. It's a cruel and complicated society out there. To truly make change you must go into the uncharted.
Yo react to Rage Against The Machine- Killing In The Name
OH SHIT my fav soad song. Glad you reacted to it 😎
Your reactions are always dope! I'm still gonna suggest Ice Nine Kills every chance I get! You really need to do the whole The Silver Scream album, especially if you like the horror genre, but A Grave Mistake is a good one to start out with. Also, more A7X! Afterlife, Dear God, Nightmare, So Far Away. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Watching D-GiBBY makes me want to have some of his energy..... I could get more writing done!
"Litty six titties" 😂😂
So glad you're so open to new music! Excited to see your future reactions!
Everyone should always be listening to new music like this... So dope!
I love this man, really enjoying it. Would love to see you react to Periphery. A lot of transitions like SOAD but a.... bit heavier lol. Anything from their 3rd or 4th studio album is the best!
The guitarist has another band that he fronts, Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway that is, imho just as off the hook. Check out Guns are Loaded, Kill Each Other/Live Forever, They Say, Dictator, Enemy, 3005, World Long Gone.
QUESTION is a masterpiece by S.O.A.D
That beginning scream.....gets the reactors Everytime....love it (sorry had to laugh) 😂😂😂🔥
System of a Down, one for the most political bands. That’s why they will always be one of my top 5 bands of all time.
Your reactions are greatness brotha
Yo Gibby, if you recall, I queued you in on France metal with Gojira on your first reaction to Jinjer.. now I've got a new one for you, SWISS folk metal.. check out Eluveitie - Rebirth.. (pronounced El-vay-tee) it's got violins, flutes, a hurdy-gurdy, crazy guitar solos, clean vocals and screams.. I'm sure you'll dig it!
The singer trained in operatic singing, listen to Holy Mountains, super underrated!
