I will need to just listen to you talk, rather than watch, if you use this camera set up. All of that motion does not play well with my vertigo. But I will always be cheering you on !!
I agree it was a bit jarring! Especially when the footage was sped up 🫨The objects were way too close to the camera it was difficult to see what you were filming.
I think the largely positive reception (and growth!) that you're getting here is because you're so genuine! A lot of people who organize/declutter on here are already very minimal, and the houses that are more like yours and really *need* decluttering just have people who don't take accountability for how things got to where they are now, and then they don't really make any real progress. You acknowledge that your house got away from you, and that it is your responsibility, but you are so genuine and you're making MAJOR headway. Sure, I'd love to see you knock back a room at a time, but that's just not realistic, and you probably wouldn't get great results and would quickly fall back into old habits. I love that you use tape to show dimensions of the areas you're tackling. All that to say that you're *getting* positivity, because you're *giving* positivity. I'm so thrilled for your progress!!!
Everything looks so good! The fact that your goal was to clear out the space left of the tv, but then, when finished, moved on to the small pile by the loveseat, was pretty darn great! That whole area is done now! ❤️ You should be very proud of yourself.

Great job!! You’re making amazing progress! I used to have four large bookcases full of books. Over the last 6 years, through multiple rounds of decluttering, I’ve gotten my book collection down to about 6 small book boxes. Much more manageable. We’ve moved a lot and honestly I just got tired of packing and unpacking them. :-) My rule now is that if items don’t fit in the space we have, it’s getting tossed/recycled/donated. Feels good to get rid of things.
Not sure about the camera around the neck. There was a lot of movement that made it a bit hard for these old eyes to watch. However, your progress is astounding. I am very impressed. You go girl!

I used to have a ton of VHS tapes. I was very into figure skating on TV and recorded lots of ice shows, competitions, and Olympic programs. Also some other tv shows. I also couldn’t find anywhere to recycle all these tapes, and ended up tossing nearly all of them. I felt guilty about it, but couldn’t hang onto them anymore - they filled an entire dresser!
VHS tapes and cassettes are considered e-waste. So the recycling drop off for them is any electronic drop places that take computers, TVs, cords, etc. One of our recycling centers has a dumpster that you throw those items into. Hope that helps.

I like being able to see more closely the things you are going through but agree the footage is a bit too ‘shakey’. From what I understand by watching other decluttering channels, the camera is often in an inconvenient place for the person doing the actual filming. So I guess it’s all about that happy medium between what the viewers ask for and what shots you can set up.

Enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work! I had to have a plumber come to my house recently and I took a lot of stuff out of the living room area and shuffled it to the 2 bedrooms. So nice to get rid of the goat trail. I did have to move some stuff out of my bedroom to get to my clothes and bed that night. But the next day I went through several boxes of stuff and very happy to say that a lot went into recycle, a lot went into the shred box and I had a bit of garbage. So nice to have that accomplished and I imagine you feel the same way. Thank you for sharing your story.

Maybe you can take a picture of things like the CD you used to listen to with your niece and donate the actual CD? You’re doing so much progress each week! One thing I’ve found is that it’s ok to let go of hobbies I used to do. Like I used to crochet rugs but now I prefer to do embroidery and have let go of all the crochet equipment. IF I want to crochet again there is always a lot of stock at the thrift stores.
I believe a lot of your success can be attributed to your fun sense of humour about the process. 😂 Such an onerous task but you keep going with humour, I love it … keep going we are with you.

Just a suggestion that I heard from another UA-camr Cas from Clutterbug, that you might consider donating craft supplies to a women’s shelter or to a thrift store for people who like to craft but can’t afford to buy supplies at full price. You are doing great and inspiring a lot of us to peel away the clutter in our own homes
the VHS that you are keeping as a reminder, why not take a pic on your phone as a reminder? You know you don't have a VHS player and you won't be able to play it anyway, it would be one object less to keep. Because once it is placed with your stuff, you won't remember it anymore. This is a tip I remember from the Hoarders show! lol
