Your wish from 2021 came true! You have over 8800 welcomed to your house Mira.
It seems the process of rubbish leaving your house is a big stumbling block.
If there were fewer steps I think you would get rid of your rubbish more often.
If you put your rubbish bins by your back door this might make it easier.
Put a reminder in your phone to put your bins on the footpath for collection.
I have a habit of putting kitchen general waste out every day and my recycling basket I take out when it’s full.
I think your life would be much easier if you prioritise getting rubbish out in the bins.

I pray you are going through therapy to help deal with your depression, your compulsion to buy, etc. It's absolutely life-changing if you can. I feel like an entirely different human after having access to therapy to learn healthy coping mechanisms and being able to get things off of my chest. I realize it's often a privilege in America, but if you are able to, I hope you jump at the chance. You have already made amazing progress and Midwest Magic Cleaning talks about how vital it is to make even more progress. Sending love your way. 💗

In my own year long journey of decluttering after my husband died, I found my solution to your donation box migrating from one room to another. In order to not have to deal with it twice, I movie it to my van and once the van is full it is time to go to the donation center. Even if I can’t get to the center right away it gets it out of the house. Love you and your ability to laugh at yourself. You are doing a great job

I, too, have trouble with trash cans. I use the plastic grocery bag, attached to my drawer knob. When it gets full I tie a knot in it and take it out, usually when I walk the dog. That way it is not so heavy (i.e. large kitchen can. For recycling, I use the paper trash bags and put them in a corner and empty either at night or the next morning. I, too, love the read and would much rather read than clean. But I do also like a clean house, so I will read a chapter and then do a "small" like wash dishes, or clean the toilet, not the whole kitchen or bathroom. At the end of the day, usually a non-work day, I read a book and cleaned the house, but didn't feel like all I did was clean. Dogs are great friends with whom to watch cleaning shows, instead of actually cleaning. HAHA. Thank you for sharing your struggles.

Just want to let you know how proud I am of you and your courage in sharing this journey with us all. I'm on a similar journey and it's so good not to feel alone. Like you, I find I can only do a little at a time and am finding it helpful to set aside 2 hours in the evening each day when I make a special effort to do some sorting and decluttering and also make an effort to re-tidy the areas I've already done. Going to be a long slow process but better than doing nothing.

My daughter gets her shopping high by going through the store with her car. She loads it up full of things she likes. Then she takes a few minutes and goes through the cart and starts putting things back on the shelf. She might have one or two items she decides to buy but sometimes it’s nothing at all. She gets her Adrenalin fix and leaves.

Mira, I can and do relate to what you have gone through and am so proud of you for sharing your journey of peeling back the clutter. Your empathy for yourself (so hard to do!) and for others shines through. You encourage me to continue my own decluttering journey.
Regarding bringing stuff in, I have adopted a rule that says for every one item I bring in, two or more items have to go out. I have found that helps. And I adopted your tip about leaving things in the cart for 24 hours several months ago and it really does help! I have even gone 48 hours as there were some things I was still uncertain about after 24.
I look forward to each new video you release! And I am so proud of and happy for you for embarking on this journey, and I wish you continued success, one small area at a time. 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Mira I want to thank you for helping to inspire me. I too have had issues with depression and things getting cluttered and not having the energy to work on my house. I also suffered a back injury 2 years ago and still having issues with it. I have good days where I feel good and can get things done then but I pay it the next day. I'm looking forward to spring coming around again so I can do a good spring clean. Thankfully, I'm in physical therapy, and it's helping. Hi Mira. I think it’s so great you are continuing on your declutter journey! You are right, Bonnie is terrific. However, you did a great deal! Don’t sell yourself short. As far as no buy, I understand feeling deprived. I felt the same. I heard an idea from another you tuber and I tried it - and it worked for me so maybe it will work for you. When buying online especially Amazon, I put it in the cart, and then I wait at least 24 hours before buying. I found I didn’t buying everything I impulsively put in the cart. I then would go through the cart and either save items for later or put them on a wish list to consider later or actually buy it. I really reduced my expenses greatly by doing that and more importantly I really reduced my clutter. Hope the idea helps you. Looking forward to your next video. You are doing really great, keep going, and don’t forget to keep the areas you already decluttered clean, so they don’t go back to the way of the past. I’m sorry to hear about Cupid, but I know she’s still with you in spirit. Happy Holidays Mira!

I have just had both hips replaced and it has caused mobility problems that really are hard to deal with. Luckily, I have a husband who can help me but I really feel for you because I am experiencing similar struggles, plus I also have depression/anxiety disorder that, even though I am medicated, I still struggle with motivation and the mobility issues make it worse. Mira, it is looking so good!! I hope you have been able to find peace in your kitchen again 💚
I’m also a pasta girlie, my tip to feel more confident in the kitchen is to get comfortable with a “genre” of food, and for me, that was pasta. For example, before I dump my sauce in a pot to warm it, I’ll melt a pat of butter and sauté some mushrooms or frozen veggies until they smell good (maybe add some garlic or onion powder, or even capers if I’m feeling really fancy). Then, I put about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of white wine in and let it cook down maybe…5 minutes or so, until I can’t smell any alcohol left. Then I add the pasta sauce, and either a rinsed can of white beans or chickpeas. The butter and wine just makes everything taste divine, and it boosts my pride to feel like I elevated my traditional “go-to” without being crazy or creating more dishes. It’s also super easy to adjust to whatever you have on hand and you don’t have to worry about following a recipe. Then because I’m in love with carbs, I make buttered toast sprinkled with garlic powder and oregano-bam, easy garlic bread.
I hope this help; I know it’s not something you asked for but cozy food that you can be proud of is a game changer. I know you can do it-look at all the things you’ve done already!!!

Wow, what a great job you two did! I've been watching all of your videos and you are definitely inspiring me to get back together! I deal with depression and fibromyalgia and I just don't have the energy sometimes to keep up with my apartment. That was so incredibly kind of Bonnie to help you out and also the donation of the table and chairs!

I'm so glad you and Bonnie connected and she directed me to your channel. I think you will help a lot of people. It's one thing for a cleaning "expert" to do videos but it's quite another for someone to be working on their own home. You will be a great support and motivation to many people. I have already sent a link to one of my friends who could really benefit from hearing your story and watching you get started.

Instead of a no buy, you could try what I call a “conscious buy”. You consciously make purchases as opposed to impulse buys. Write down things you want to buy, leave it for a few days and come back. Some people do this with shopping carts online, they “park” the item.
Also recommend tracking the purchases date, cost and item so you can reflect back on your spending habits
Going all cash is another way you can help cut back
    Budgeting
I think you’ll need to try a few different versions to see which one works for you
    Keep going Mira! ❤

This is wonderful! I’m so glad you asked Bonnie for help and allowed her in your home. That’s a big deal to be able to ask for help and receive it. It looks great! I have some shame with my clutter too and I need an outside view of the items because I am pretty sentimental. I’m thinking of doing some video calls with my mom or sister to talk to while I declutter. I think that would help me.
I love watching your channel. 💗

I buy lots of yarn. I crochet a lot. I enjoy making things and giving them away. I have been working on buying less yarn and working through what I already have. I have donate six trash bags full of yarn. I have made at least a dozen blankets with yarn that was leftover from other projects. So I think I’m making great progress. To be continued in 2024

I’m glad you decided not to separate your trash and donations. You are not far enough in your declutterring journey yet at this stage. I’ll separate mine thoroughly so I make up for you 😊. You will get at that point soon at the speed you are going now 🎉

You are doing an Amazing job! And as Bonnie Said in her video - recycling is great and important, but for now just trash, and then when you get on top of things you can focus more on recycling. Like your bottle trash can, maybe Keep a box where you can fold other boxes etc. ❤

Mira you are amazing! It takes a lot of energy mentally and physically to do what you're doing and I applaud you lovely 👏👏👏. Bonnie is a treasure but do you know what, so are you. I come away from watching your videos feeling uplifted. Not because of the decluttering you're doing, but from hearing you talking, your laugh and your sense of humour. I have got in a bit of a mess. I'm disabled so don't get around to well and everything takes longer to do. I've had a cold which has knocked the stuffing out of me for almost two weeks, so my usual housework has slipped. Plus my fiance has been doing some diy in the kitchen so there's been extra mess and he's not in good health either, but you have inspired me to ask for help. Tomorrow (Monday) I'm going to ask my neighbour and friend if she will give me a hour to help with hoovering and washing the floors. I'll pay her for her time as it will ease my conscience for asking 🤦‍♀️. Thank you Mira

Keep at it Mira, you are doing great !!! Am much enjoying the transformation. I laughingly asked about the water bottle recycle can on the live with Bonnie and now you mentioned it. Since you have a great sense of humor, you DO know it's not meant with malice, is funny as alot of us can relate. I admire your solution. Take care.
