They both took off at 36mph on that last jump. Raptor looked like it landed better. But TRX went higher. I guess that pogo effect did that.

Yeah I think 💭 🤔 he nailed it by saying that the raptor felt like a tuned sports car 🚗 and the trx feels like a muscle car 🚗 that sounded like he hit the nail on the head with that one ☝🏼 for sure

@@mdjak3686 they are already doing that. Raptor R with 725-750 hp this year. Ford Authority says it should start around 75k.
@@The-fs5wn dream on, sir. A loaded Gen3 is over 80 grand with the 37” package. If and when they do come out with the Raptor R, it will be over 100k before the gouging dealers add a $50k ADM. I’m on my third Gen2. Awaiting my Gen3 to be built. I found an honest dealer with no markup. I just saw a Bronco with Sasquatch package. Dealer in Connecticut had it marked up 20k over sticker. For a Bronco. Crazy times.

Awesome video, usually the more power the harder it is to manage.
Aside from the tire pressure the Raptor is on 37s which gives a little more cushion. Both amazing trucks but that 6.2L sells me personally.

37's is also a lot more rotational mass which hinders performance and fuel economy believe it or not. But both trucks being the TRX and Raptor that really doesn't matter both are very capable vehicles but I am sorry Ram wins this hands down.

The TRX is more rowdy, which makes it more fun IMO. They are both cool trucks.

For the past 30 years Rams have been dead last in reliability every year but one, also many can't shake the fact nearly all of the 90s/early 2000s era rams turned into piles of rust. FCA makes cheap quality stuff, that's what they're famous for. Ram has always played third place to Ford and GM in sales. I gave Ram a chance with a Rebel, worst truck I've ever owned.

I've made my decision TRX for myself the Raptor for my wife 👍
If I had to buy today it would be the trx. But when the raptor r comes out it will be a totally different choice.
I'm Ford all day but can't bet the sound of a V8.

I had a 21 TRX and traded for a 23 Raptor. I like the Raptor better. Both are magnificent machines though.

Dodge Ram TRX ignition Orange is the killer way better then a ford raptor I test drove one last Saturday and I love it. Team dodge for life for me
I'd like to see a course race with them. Ofcourse 1000 hp is going to win in a straight run and no inclines or angled track surfaces.

I drove in a TRX and a raptor they have about the same amount of space. If I were to have a daily I would have the TRX if I were to off road ever week I would get the RAPTOR. I would choose a TRX over raptor any day
Raptor definitely better for off-roading but the Trx sound
trx is amazing but still like the raptor more , also gonna stick to the raptor cuz of gas mileage and suspension and that amazing roar sound , also more comfortable

Which one has better reliability?
Raptor without a question. There are Raptors with 200k+ miles that work just like new, and they have also proven to be very durable so long as people aren’t stupid with them. The TRX has already had reported problems with power management, and one of them broke down on a desert test after a relatively small jump. Take a guess as to what it was towed out by and saved by.

Unpopular opinion: TRX roar sounds great, but I don’t like the supercharger whine. It takes away from the v8 burble imo. Still beats the raptor in sound (tho I prefer raptor)
You know people always talk about how the TRX has faster throttle response than the Raptors well yeah super chargers have instant torque and power where a turbo do you have that lag until the turbo spoils up if you throw a turbo anti-lag on the raptor it would have instant torque just like a supercharger that goes with any vehicle that is turbo charged versus a supercharger you throw a turbo anti-lag behind the turbo and boom insta power no waiting for turbos to spoil up for boost
I'm thinking getting one of these two, they are ridiculously priced here in Australia looking at 180k usd for TRX.
Rumor has it ford might do RHD model? that should make it better priced but probably gen 4 will be out by that time haha.

I’ll take a brand new tundra crewmax off the lot and put a long travel setup with more than what these trucks have as far as capability and reliability goes and still be out the door less than what one of these costs stock off the lot. If I was to buy one of these though it would be a long travel Cummins lol it wouldn’t be one of these unless I was a street queen lookin for other dudes to pick up.

On the jump at the beginning of the video you can see the suspension on both, the raptor handles it nicely, the trx the weight and suspension can’t handle it, can even hear the tires hit the body of the truck

Dammit I need an extra $200k so I can have both, if you aren’t a closed minded brand loyalist there is so many positives with each over the other a clear choice is impossible… I do see way way more Raptors here in Utah so I lean TRX a tad to help balance the numbers 😉

Sorry trx fanboys 3 psi in a 35 is not enough to make that much of a difference, it’s the shocks on the raptor that make it smoother

So he feels more confident in the raptor but was going way slower and the handling looked really bad in my opinion and the Trx looked smoother but he’s going way to slow through some sections and I wish he would have pushed them a little bit more

TRX has the sound but you can visually see it pogoing far more in the video. That front end weight hurts dynamics. As pure roys I think I'd go with the TRX. But let's say I wanted a truck to go overlanding with I think the Raptor would be great option... And it gets acceptable MPG too.

TRX has semi-active shocks.
In essence, you have to make a trade off: Do I want the superior off roader or the superior stop-light bully?
Or just wait ‘till the Raptor R drops.
P.s only reason a TRX is still sold at MSRP is because they’re not selling a lot. Which means they might discontinue soon, so if you want a TRX make sure you get one asap.
