Teno is one of the only dinos I can play with this egregious stamina system. Its fast trot makes traveling without sprinting bearable and the reduced atam drain on attacks makes it feel much better in fights.
I dunno, since I got not a good sample of that many encounters yet, since the update to tell. Got no time to play atm. But as far as I could tell by the footage I've seen, the bigger playables are pretty balanced and the outcome has to do more with luck, skill, situational circumstances and the stats you are finding yourself with. Carnos can still wreck, but can find themselves in unfavorable situations very often with this stam changes. As solo you need to be very careful and keep your pool near max. And the terrain in Gateway (love the map, but...) is far worse to traverse for the Carno and it's speed. I broke my legs so often, I stopped counting :'D
Never thought I'd say this but the Deino didn't deserve to be bullied that hard. Genuinely no clue what he was doing so far from water with juvies though.
Really love your video! Your narration rocks! And I think it clearly shows how the game was tweaked with a pvp-oriented, agressive profile in mind ;) You took the risks, you were self-aware and at least somewhat managing ur stam, while keeping your impulsiveness. It's always been Ceratos for me. We had 4 fg Tenos and 2 fg Ceratos and no matter how much we hit them they never died. Their ability makes it's so much harder.
I just came back a couple weeks ago for the mutation stuff in Hordetest, after over a year break and have seen maybe 4 Teno total. I mained Teno for a long time back in the day, but haven't touched it since coming back just to experience the new dinos and mechanics and mutations. Now that I've played each of them to adulthood a few times and played enough to know what I like, I gotta say, Teno is still my favorite, followed by Cera. It's sad that not many people play it anymore but I'm sure after all the excitement from the new stuff, Teno mains will be back at it again.
Pretty sure the 'fog' is a bug. The game isn't getting dark at night but the filter they put in to counter gamma use still comes in at night. With that being the result. In the hordetest it was only happening at low graphics for me, but with release it's happening on all settings.
Sometimes when you think about some events in this game, like how that cerato you had thought had been grabbed by the dieno turned out do die somehow right behind you is the kinda stuff I wished before I got the game, its just so cool to see these immersive moments like those where something unexpected happens, makes the game so much fun even if it has its flaws, and tbh I dont play the game itself that much, Path of Titans is my main game rn lol but watching videos makes up for it, I need to play gateway more at some point lol haven’t played anything enough to find out how the map works or how much like legacy it feels 🤣

They are supposed to, but it feels like they only have S diet half the time i go there, and a lot of the plants bug out and are inedible. Diets should be more spread out imo, the migration system is not engaging, it is just walking back and forth between hotspots full of predators on a map designed to prolong the travel time

Yall ngl I feel like I have this "Stupid Bravery" with Dinos only and its all the time, they are on my land. Hope we get something soon that can punk one them out of the watering whole.
Omg i think i finally found the video im also playing in! Lol i HAVE to know when this was played? Was it yesterday? I was literally in that same area on gateway near the water around the end as a cerato juvie, there was another one, and some a cpl crocs. It was kinda hard to see, was already hurt lol, but i KNOW there was a baby, and a teno also, i ran in the bushes to hide lol, and when i came out, the baby was dead. I tried getting a nibble, but the big one chased me away. Ended up logging out a few minutes later as my company arrived. But dang! If this is it, so THATS how the baby died, because i was wondering if it was the croc who did it lol.
Grew a couple teno's, as long as you can hide properly its pretty easy to grow. Though im pretty sure carnivores have been getting cocky with teno's, since i honestly see more teno AI's then actual player teno's, so the few times i got into a fight i got a cheap easy tail slam on them lol
Yeah, I've gotten a couple easy slaps on people thinking I was ai x] They're not too tough to grow, but the carnos. Oh the carnos are so painful to fight. You can go from full health to literally dead in 5 seconds if more than one sees you and one lands a charge
Yeah, I want sure what it was at the time, but the pachy player reached out here in the comments and said it was them. They'd survived, so I don't know what the ceratos were chuffing at!
wow... your intro sounds like every day of the isle xD the sepia fog can be fixed by setting your global illumation settings to anything other than "off." ambient occlusion used to cause it before the most recent update, but now it luckily does not. although sometimes i wonder if it's better than nightvision.... lol somehow i have been surving as teno on na7 against all odds. i usually play late at night when there are less than 50 players. i've tried to die several times but my teno still lives. she is a tenacious girl xD i've broken my legs several times and was still able to fight off raptors and avoid deinos that lunge at me then give up. i even killed a young raptor that was trying to eat me (i felt bad lol). haven't encountered any carnos or ceratos though, those must be tough... but now i see ceras can get destroyed too. they're probably all starving tbh haha. i haven't played teno very much at all but i love the tail slam. it's sooo satisfying when you hear it connect. and i've managed to meet up with a couple other tenos at the river delta migration zone, north of the swamps. which is always the migration zone whenever i log on. lol. haha those other tenos are just watching you bully the deino. i love how the deino immediately begins to eat the baby deino you killed xD another great video, metta! hope i see you in a server someday
Yeah teno is pretty great! The biggest issue for them right now are carno packs honestly. Though multiple ceratos v a solo teno usually results in issues for the teno(as it should though honestly). Anyway, I'm around in game quite often! I'm sure someday we'll meet in game x]
Great video as always, quality all you haft to do would be get a collaboration with a larger creator and you will gain a couple thousand subs and get boosted out into the algorithm
I confess I'm a bit confused by this story. The video seems to show the linear experience as one single teno, but your video description mentions a lot of deaths. Why did you not leave them in? What is the answer to "What is about teno in Gateway?"? Did you thrive, or did you die a lot?
Yes. Want to know what literally just happened to me? Two carnos. One charged me from behind, knocked me down easily even though he got stunned (for half as long as me) by my tail slam. The second charged before I was able to stand up after the first charge. That's minimum 600 damage out the gate if both were body shots. In this case, one was a base tail hit and the other was a headshot(making it about 1200-1400 damage between the two). Two additional bites and I died. In said fight, I got off a total of 1 tail slam before I was dead. The entire "fight" lasted less than 15 seconds. If that's not a nightmare, I don't know what is.
Nah herbivores needs to have it rough, thats why they gotta pack up and stuff, not be a menace huntung carnivores for fun., also keeps them interestung to play
If something needs to pack up to be viable, then less people will play it, and in turn it will not even be able to pack up. Your idea of balance is dog shit, sorry

In many cases, it's pretty painful, yeah. Learning management is rough, but honestly once you get used to it, successful stamina management feels incredibly rewarding
this game is to hard. and im ok with that, but in my opinion there is no reason to play this game. the bigger you get, the less stamina you have. meaning only when your a baby do you actually have any fun with this game. but being a baby is suppose to be the lesser form of your dino. a game where progression makes everything worse, is not a game for me. imma wait for a new update. but i definitely picked this game up at a bad time or something. because this garbage. also why is fall damage so awful in this game 😑
At its core, The Isle is meant to be a survival game. For a long time, that has not really been how it was played. People grew up, then killed each other until they died, rinse and repeat. The stamina changes have added a new element to survival: Run out at the wrong time, you're dead. For example; Raptor sprints from one migration to another. Barring any possible leg fractures from sprinting in dangerous terrain, they arrive at the new zone healthy, hungry, but out of stamina. They now cannot hunt, and are vulnerable to attack if they're spotted. As they wait for their stamina to regain, they are getting hungrier by the minute. Eventually, their stamina bar has refilled, but they're so desperate for food they now have to sprint around hoping to find something before they starve to death, rather than taking their time. They're in a dangerous position, slowly dying of starvation, regaining stamina slower as a result of their high hunger levels, and overall weakened by food loss. All could have been prevented by travelling more carefully. Another example; full health, full hunger carnivore enters a hunt. In theory, the hunt should be fairly straightforward. Unfortunately for the carnivore, he messes up and misses several attacks. Now he's getting low on stamina. He can back off to try and regain, but it'll give his prey time to flee the area. He can try to continue fighting, but now risks running out of stamina and dying. He's not desperate for food still. The survival option would be to back off the hunt and live to hunt another day. More players are having to consider survival vs pvp deathmatching, and it leads to many more natural interactions and hunts. Both successful and failed. It's not the type of game for everyone, but I personally find it incredibly fun and challenging most of the time, especially with the stamina changes.
i find both the game, and the players way to hard. im always dying of hunger, so i can't focus on fighting. but fighting is a way to solve my hunger. but i suck at fighting. so i usually just die and log off the game, to start again a new day. which is why i play the duck. he's the omnivore which the arms, and he swims. he's a water animal. he is my favorite. and he is really fun. and i get to avoid all the predators, except for gatiors. but sadly once the duck becomes an adult, he barely has any stamina. making him no fun. i only enjoy 1 dino in this whole game. and the stamina system completely ruins him.@@dinometta

@@Pachi_Fuda That's fair. Like I said, it's not necessarily something everyone cares for. I apparently just hate myself enough to keep playing despite the challenges x]
