While I understand the weight reduction, it doesn't make any sense for a lighter carno to have its speed reduced and still have horrible agility/turning speed.
I don't think carno needed a weight reduction, I just think it shouldve been more realistically balanced. Remove the cooldown and 10% stam cost on charge but make the charge itself drain stam faster than running, by about 2x, and remove the acceleration. Basically make it like 6.5 carno but without the 10% stam cost, but instead make it cost based on how long its held, like in update 4 all the way through 6.

@@OHT-08 x] That's not how a slide is supposed to work, they're intended to allow you to change directions while running, at the cost of some momentum and control. If you have to stop first then it's not really a slide

It was actually your videos that told me how to fight them off and stave against their bleeding, with the whole rubbing them against a tree tactic. I did end up having to run to the edge of canyon river, covered on one flank by a tree. But all they could do from there was mock charges trying to bait me from my position, but I stood firm, even taunted them with the 3 call. The ending is one of the reasons I rather play Path of Titans(community servers) than the Isle, in PoT insta-kills are pretty much non-existent, with the exception of OHKOing the smallest dinos with Sarco's loud charged bite or a Rex's bite. Otherwise it would take minimum 2-3 hits to kill something, in the most balanced fights it would be ~12-16 attacks(8 if the attacks are with longer cooldowns that basically do what Carno's charge does in the Isle)
Yeah, that particular one was incredibly disheartening. I'd just barely reached adult 5 minutes prior. 3 hours down the drain instantly because a stego player decided to be the worst
@@dinometta I'd be more down with the isle's hardcore aspects in combat if you could actually tell when a 6 ton animal was charging at you from behind. Rn if you're eating or drinking, a stego can run full sprint at you and you can neither see it or hear it before it 1 shots you. A lot of the game rn is try to eat -> get 1 shot.
@@TheBlueKio yeah, it's ridiculous. That stego ran quite a distance to kill me too. And since the sound they make when they go into power swing stance stopped working, I was only alerted to his incoming self at the last possible second(you can see me stop the eating animation a moment before the stego shows up on the screen). By then though, I was already too late since carno takes absolute ages to stop eating and start moving again.
the problem with pot its not really reward player for performing a perfect clean ambush, the creatures can take so much hit before dying that often make me feel like my attempt of ambush are pointless. In the isle too creature are pretty bulky but you feel much more impact on a succesfull ambush attack(not devastating has Bob but still more pleasant than Pot)
@@sweetypredator1067 It's pretty forced though, not really skill based. The isle hands you ambushes on a silver platter; literally in this video a stego can run up behind you and 1 shot you at any time.
Idk man, i soloed 2 ceras one day only to get bodied by a solo cera the next as a full adult. I think it matters how the fight goes. If you can do your charge and get a bite or two off before they get one off youre golden and take those trades anyday. If you get stuck though try and get out by any means possible and just reset if you can
The only way i see this charge get cooldown is by making carno got insanely good bleed resist or at least very good one or give it more health, the only way to make carno still viable with charge cd since the bully allo is on the corner
I'd rather see carno get charge .. charges. Like dilo has 3 chuckles, dryo has two dodges, etc before they have to wait for 20 seconds. Give carno 5 charges. That would, in an ideal hunt, kill a raptor or pachy before the carno was out for 20 seconds. But would leave openings for dilos and ceratos to fight back better(pachy and raptor both have better agility and can jump to escape a carno, dilo and cerato cannot).
This gameplay is mad mad! Life was given to you by raptors, taken by stego. Great plays with carno, but he will fall of as bigger carnivoars get into game.
@@okamigod5141 Indeed, carno will only remain on top for a little while longer. The introduction of allo and rex will likely cement his role as the small game hunter only
@@okamigod5141 I think initially we'll see a similar influx as we saw with dibble, and dilo too. Servers simply overflowing with allo players. @@dinometta it defenetly will be a thing in a beginning, aldo, first "big" carno that can solo easy diablo, and stegos wont be as safe as they are now. That will dramaticly change the game. But they can always change weight and abilitys cd,dmg, etc. As they said, the game is ment to be mercyless...
yeah dibbles grow really fast at the 1-30% growth, at 30% growth it gets to half the weight of a full grown, A CHARGED STEGO SWING ONE SHOTS A CARNO? WTF
I dont think it was nerfed, i would call it a rebalance rather than a nerf, because they may have lowered its weight sure, but they litterally reworked how the raw works, it can now pretty much be spammed and activated instantly as you start running, and all this with no cooldown, which is what makes it pretty strong despite its health nerf, it was just switched to some sort of glass canon rather than a tank
Basically. The only issue is that the charge prevents other animals from landing their attacks. Raptors can't pounce a charging carno, even the ceratos tend to only get a nibble after they've taken the full charge to the face. I've been testing teno too and trying to land a tail slam on a charging carno doesn't seem to work anymore either
I have NO idea why they decided to revert the Carno charge back to this utterly braindead variant of it rofl. It does less damage sure, but that doesn't exactly mean much when you can just run back and forth spamming charge over and over and over until your opponent dies. And that's not even mentioning the utterly borked hitbox.
This is fucking cooked. I swear they just need to revert carno to how it was in update 4 and just fucking keep it that way. Theres almost no escaping carno now. Plus they downsized the hell out of it, when in actuality it was 3 tones, some even say 4 at the highest estimates. They took what used to be the most skillful playable and made it fucking braindead.
@@calkingherper4189 yup. It literally just feels like a press button = win right now and that's so disappointing considering how much more skill based it should be

Haven't played carno since the update but this playstyle feels right for it. Also if south plains is still a magnet for cannibal carnos I will avoid it. That was always my problem there.
Definitely avoid South plains, it's really one of the best places for carnos because of the openness of the areas and none of those pesky rocks, so carnos go there in droves and definitely aren't all going there to hunt migrating tenos
@@dinometta The only other place I see a lot of carnos is north east lake for the same reasons. Not a lot of good places for them when most of the plains bioms on the map have hills that block the view.

Yup. I used to main stego back in update 4-5.5, had a lot of fun raising baby stegos and traveling back and forth across Spiro as a peaceful giant. And then the aggro stegos started to appear. More and more often I'd get caught by people acting friendly to get close so they could kill me, and before long I became distrustful of other stegos. Eventually, the fun was gone. I couldn't find a friendly herd to wander around with and so I moved on to friendlier pastures in the omni population. These days though, you really just can't fully trust any random. Which is why I've become more solo/duo overall when I play.
Something that bothers me about that first Dilo... I know that beach, I sorta know that area. I'm almost sure that even if faced with an experienced player such as yourself, his best chance would have been to run into the treeline and zigzag as much as possible. Carno's have such a tough time at speed making turns, that it still would have been possible to shake you. Sure, at his size there was definitely no chance of OUTRUNNING you. But losing you in the confusing mess that is the forest floor was on the table.
@@dinometta I sorta get what he was going for with running into the water. If he was gonna die, he was gonna deny you your meal if possible. As for myself... Gonna make sure I don't cross paths with you, if I can help it lol
i still can't figure out what the difference is in the open and closed eye zones/areas - do closed eyes mean it's nighttime? I know its food source for herbis but what does it mean when the eyes close?
It means you're closer. Just like with migrations and sanctuary, the zone icon fills up the closer you get to it. So the eyes are "open" when you're far away and "closed" when you are almost there
Oh yes. Stego running power swing does about 2-3k damage. Everything except other stegos, Dibbles, and deinos get one shot if they get hit. Oh but don't worry, running stego with its tail raised is very nearly silent so they can absolutely sneak up on you while you're eating
Herbovores are the plague of this game. Honestly they should cut their damage three and stego should be removed until there is something that can kill it in game

Herbovores are the plague of this game. Honestly they should cut their damage three and stego should be removed until there is something that can kill it in game
Cerato can kill stego quite easily right now using their bile. You just have to play it smart
honestly this video perfectly shows why I don't enjoy playing smaller dinos. The hitboxes are so wonky and not suited to fast paced combat. I rather grow something bigger where you don't have to keep hoping the server favors you over the dino you're fighting.
@@MarkDrisch honestly, I feel that so much lately. At least when you don't get blessed by the server, you can usually survive and flee
carno got a buff. not a nerf.
(Yeah, its health was nerfed but holy! the new kit is awesome)
@@TakeTheL_69 I know, the title is a play on all the people complaining that carno is "in the worst state it's ever been" and "generally just weak"
@@dinometta Carno is probably the best it's ever been right now. Ik that people complain. (90% of the roster is smaller than carno...and it is a small game hunter...) It'S not OP cuz a fully grown dibble destroys carno. So like yah. People complain that carno is bad but go feral if they buff it
@@TakeTheL_69 yup exactly!
A 50% dibble destroys everything besides a deino or a stego. Not saying much. Comparing poop to shit @Goatzillareal
as someone who has found the most fun with omnivores i WILL NOT understand why some herbis have such a blood lust like. dam steggos are now top of this i dont like. now ill understand a croc hunting me as a bipi (love thoes fucking cute things) or any other carnavore hunting but gez. herbis got the brutal mindset of a carnavore in starvation
@@lechking941 yeah, herbivore life can be extremely dull at times, especially stego. But I can't understand why you'd play a herbivore if you weren't looking for a quiet experience with a few moments of action in between
Okay I must be really bad at this game because I tried carno just now and only two raptors killed me easily because for some reason my charge attack didn't hit them not even once 😂 I guess carno doesn't have broken hit box after all
@@eg-draw Carno has been adjusted more since this video xD I tested it with Acro the other day on Norden and the grace they give carno charge for latency and lag is more fair now(and in some cases, overdone, he couldn't hit my juvie raptor as a juvie carno, even with bites).
Honestly this video more then anything highlights how garbage Dilo is compared to other dinos, couldn’t out run your alot younger carno, can’t dodge attacks well and weave out the way, three dilos can’t be able to take down a carno, a fight between your carno and the Dilo around the 13 minute mark being completely one sided slighter with nothing the other really can do. It honestly feels like carno is just a better Dilo at its own job but now with the benefits of easy instant charges high damage and health pool. Praying they do something about them
@@umbra_K yup, that's why I felt that carno had to be my next video, to really just drive home how bad dilo is right now. There was quite literally nothing those dilos could do
erm actually its technically a rework (its a buff)
@@ThanksImGoood very much a buff
Idk why they thought it would be a good idea to add a tank like stego with nothing really that can fight it AND having it 1 shot most of the roster... I kill baby stegos every chance I get purely so I wont have to deal with them once they become adults
@@Equinox_NZ For real, at least before it got its new kit it could still be hunted decently well. With power swing there's no point in even trying. A large juvenile stego can one shot a cerato with its jab
@dinometta The whole "We're doing this in preparation for the release of other big dinos" is a terrible excuse too because why not just buff them when you actually drop those other dinos? Until they become playable were just stuck with a broken game
Herbivores who randomly kill carnivores, mix-up or bodyguard should all be prohibited on every server and punished by perma-ban bruv
@@polish_pigeon I can't get behind that idea. Herbivore life is boring a lot of the time. In many cases, carnivores don't even bother hunting you(especially stegos, you can't make me fight those suckers unless I'm playing cerato). There's no reason to dull down their gameplay further by forbidding them entirely from being aggressive.
@@polish_pigeon body guarding and mixpacking though, that's just annoying and lame behavior
