Another great lesson. I am following the same process that your teaching. The painting I did is decent. It reads well and I hit the values to create the right mood. I will have to do see scapes a couple hundred more times. Lol. Thanks for the lesson. I’m planning on picking out another of your lessons for the weekend project. In between, in the evenings I’ll focus on small studies and work on skills
Thank you very much Dan!! You’ll find that with repetition you’ll develop memory muscles that will help you progress with each new painting because your brain will automatically remember what worked and didn’t work in previous paintings and you get better and better! Try doing the same painting 3 times and see what happens with each one as you look back at the previous one!
you are an amazing teacher as well as painter. I'm watching many videos a day and truly getting it. thank you! ps. the music is distracting. quiet is ok
Thank you very much Barbara!!! The newer ones are better.

Great seascape teach in - Don Gilburn (UK)
Thank you Don!!!
Muchas Gracias Nora!!!
Thanks for the painting, it was fabulous, you caught the light brilliantly.

Lovely!
Thank you very much!!
So beautiful I am in loove!
Lol, thank you Kirsi!!!
Perfect! Thanks dear
You’re welcome Glauci !!!
Thanks dude 👍
It was really awesome
Though it was acrylic but it really helped me on how to actually paint the waves using soft pastels
I owe you my greatest respect, my friend
Not only I improved on color selection and blending but also how to use the foresight more decisively
Thanks man
Also I've been hearing a lot about both India and the States 😔
Stay safe and inside
Keep posting more 😊
Love from India ❤️
Thank you Anish!!! This painting was in acrylics. You stay safe my friend!!!
I am just so damn jealous I can't even make a wave unless I fall in the pool great Wave the beautiful Wave
Lol, that was funny !!! Thank you Edward!!
That was hilarious ! That was cute. But I’m working on the wave action thing. On the canvas! 😁
Brilliant piece of art work...wish you can guide how to give mist or foggy effect in painting
Thank you Amit!! I think I did halfway through, I just greyed down the color by adding blue and sienna, and not too much white!
Lovely painting! I noticed that you didn't have to add any new paint from the tube throughout the entire process. Are you using something to prevent your acrylics from drying? My acrylics dry so quickly that I have to add new paint fairly frequently. Some of it dries before I can use it, so it's wasted. Also, when I work on a painting, I have difficulty blending as easily as you seem to because of the very fast drying time. Is there a secret that I'm missing? :)
Thank you Kristina!!! I mist my paints from time to time with a little sprayer. Other ways to mitigate this problem is to buy a Stay Wet palette, I recommend Mastersons, comes in 2 sizes. You can also take a paper napkin, fold it in sections and wet it, wring out the excess water and place your paints on top! They will stay wet a long time. You can also buy a retarder medium, put a few drops in each paint puddle.. Or you can buy Golden Open Acrylics, stays wet a very long time !!
@@GebahiArtworks Thank you for your time and for sharing these great tips! I've never heard of a Stay Wet palette, so I'll do some more research on it. In the meantime, I'll try the paper napkin suggestion. Open acrylics will have to wait for a bit as I recently bought several new tubes of the regular type. I better get painting to use them up!
Kristina B I’ll probably do a video on this for you in the near future! Enjoy painting!!
@@GebahiArtworks That would be very helpful! If you do, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about using acrylics vs. oils and which one you tend to prefer. Since you use both, I wonder why you choose one over the other at different times and if it's related to subject matter, time, etc. Also, I'd be interested to know if you ever use oil over acrylic.
Kristina B Kristina B all great questions Kristina!! I tend to lean more towards acrylics because there are no rules to acrylics, no formulas for follow, it’s the honey badger of the mediums, Lol !! The only downside I’d dries to quick but you learn to work around that, and the color shifts and covering power! Oils cover better, also better blending, more forgiving. But it will depend on my mood wether I choose one or the other. If I want to paint fast and don’t feel like working on it for days, which is almost always, then I go to acrylics, but if I have time on my hands and want the richness and thickness, then I go to oils for that! There have been a few instances when I used oils over acrylics because I wanted better blending effects and better coverage. Sometimes I’ll go over the entire painting and sometimes it’ll be just a few parts of the paint instead!
If you haven't corrected a mistake like that before in a painting... you don't paint enough. Lol! Second time is always the charm anyway...
Which mistake are you talking about?
