Ended up getting the portrait videos and I wasn't disappointed at all. Having retired 3 years ago and starting on my 4th career I intend to follow and buy more upcoming videos from Andrew. The great thing about videos compared to attending classes is that you can keep repeating, stopping and reviewing the work whereas in a classroom environment if you miss something you can not rewind. The seascapes are phenomenal, and as soon as they are available I will order them. Having lost my wife to Cancer and resurrecting my painting interest after 2 years of grief this is just as therapeutic as it is instructional. Let's not even mention this damn Pandemic. Thanks.
Cripes you're good. Not just at painting, but at clearly explaining things. I don't even work in oils & I still find an immense amount of knowledge I can transfer & use with watercolor, gouache & casein. Can't wait for the tutorial!
Andrew is an incredible artist and his videos are always worthwhile. Although I've only been painting for about a year and a half, I still find his advanced techniques in the tutorials that I've purchased so well explained that even someone with little experience or training can profit from his advice.
Thanks Mike C. I've had several requests for beginners painting courses. I will be working away at this in the background and create more content to help aspiring painters! I appreciate your support!
Hi Andrew. I would just like to thank you for the information you have communicated through the videos you have released on you tube. You have helped to compensate for my lack of art training and my paintings are improving. Regards Neil
Another masterclass in technique and colour management. It's the colour management side of things I let myself down with. I am constantly gravitating towards your mantra "paint what you see, as opposed to what you know". Hi Andrew, gorgeous light permeates the scene, dynamic composition of waves, rocky shore and sky, love this, great tutorial. I have watched and listened on repeat atm, very good teacher as always. Please forgive me for being late, catching up now, because earlier in the week we were hit suddenly with unexpected sad news of a family death of my three sons' father.
Beautiful, Andrew. I truly appreciate you honestly answering the question, "How long does it take to paint?" Many artists, unfortunately, bristle at this question. It's refreshing to hear you graciously address it. As always, thank you for brilliant content.
I agree with your praise of Andrew :) But I wanted to give my thoughts on why some artists might not like that question about time: First, it implies time has something to do with the quality of the work. It's often not the case. You could train and prepare for ages to do a work in 10 minutes that's amazing. I have seen many great watercolours artists that are quick, but I can see how much training it took to get there. On the other hand, you could work 2 years on a painting and it could still be bad. Today I saw a guy on Facebook complain that people did not give likes to his drawing he had worked 10 hours on. But like with food, if the consumer/viewer likes it or not is not in correlation to how long the chef spent preparing it. It might even be overworked ;) Second. When I get that question, often I truly don't know the answer. I take out a piece and work on it know and then, I listen to audiobooks, I drink tea or coffe, I put it away and work on another piece. The kids interrupt and I have to do something else for a while. Time flies while I enjoy working on an artwork, and (me at least) don't usually keep a timer besides me (if it's not a life drawing session). Maybe I feel the artwork lack something and I might not solve it in my head for weeks. I have a drawing I started on two years ago, and then abandonded. If I decide to finish it, there's just no way I will know how long I have spent on it. It usally ends up with me guessing an amount of time that is probably wrong.
@@MattiasWirf Same thing with photography. Sometimes I feel like making a list of all that went into a photograph. Thank you once again for sharing your incredible talent and paintings with us. It's so inspiring, I began painting in 2017 after a debilitating illness which left me in a wheelchair for two years. As I had lost my independence and as a musician I could play my instruments very well due to the illness, I had spare creative energy, so i took up drawing and painting. Your videos have helped me so much to recover meaning and joy & I wanted to let you know! PS I am walking again now, but am still painting too! I also can to a limited degree play my cello and piano again!! Thanks

But what a great teacher and communicator you are. Keep it up mate. You are making an impact on every art aficionado. Keep it up. Cheers
This is just remarkable! Your paintings are hard to tell from a photo of the actual subject and that is what I love the most. I usually do watercolor but have been dabbling in oils for a bit now. Andrew, This is beautiful! You have captured the ocean perfectly! I grew up on the California coast and although the colors are not this beautiful I loved watching the chasing waves. And you are a sweetheart to do that shoutout. My grandma turns 97 this year! Lol The woman is amazing, she is still walking up and down stairs and going to her workouts in town. LOL I am glad they are still in your life to celebrate their 90th! Stay safe!

Thanks Andrew. As ever amazing. I love the way you develop your paintings and the detail that makes them so special. Learning a lot just from watching your tutorials.
The waves/water is really beautiful, Mr Tischler. Nice composition too!!! :) I think one of the greatest seascape painters of all time is Peter Ellenshaw. Wow! I just found your tutorials within the last week or so. I've been really blessed to have this time off to paint and your videos have done so much for my work! You're providing the techniques I've been missing and have filled in a lot of important holes, such as color mixing. Thank you and thank you Rachel for doing such a great job. I will be purchasing this video the moment it comes out! Cheers! Catherine in Connecticut
Love, love, love, the painting and the frame!

Simply Superb Andrew. Love your paintings
Stay safe!
Thanks Andrew, you’re a master at creating realistic scenes, wonderful work as always and I believe that you are a great teacher.

Thanks Andrew. As ever amazing. I love the way you develop your paintings and the detail that makes them so special. Learning a lot just from watching your tutorials.
Great work. Wonderful sensitivity.
The waves/water is really beautiful, Mr Tischler. Nice composition too!!! :)
I think one of the greatest seascape painters of all time is Peter Ellenshaw. His paintings are so dynamic and "lifelike", and his compositions are really breathtaking.
Thanks for posting this video. Very inspiring!

Andrew its absolutely amazing!! I am so inspired and learning so much from your tutorials. I only tried oils last year and went in blind so every little hint is helping me so much. After painting in Acrylics for years I was working the wrong way round in oils. I can't wait to get out of self-isolation and back to the studio. Don't stop posting, love the podcasts too! Stay safe! Jilly, Gold Coast (but born in Daylesford!!)

What a joy to watch! I am so stoked you are putting out these types of future tutorials. The EPIC dvd was totally epic, which was way way over my ability (right now), but ready to explore on a smaller scale seascapes, or trees, or mountains, or clouds, or any subject you'll film. So awesome! And, yes, I have tried to glaze w/titanium white :(
Hey Vicky! Get your hands on some LEAD white! You'll be so glad you did. I truly appreciate your feedback and support too! Thanks a billion!
Wow.......absolutely amazing results!
Loved the video, especially the glazing part.
