      Yes, a lot of the time I sculpt the painting after building up the mass of the subject! It’s like sculpting a block of stone.

    Man, you really nailed that scene! I can feel the heat and the humidity and hear all the wildlife sounds just by looking at your painting. And what background noise? I was too busy watching the painting come alive to notice.

    Learning new techniques from you! I will continue to send you donations when I can. I hope everyone else that is learning from you does the same. I think you are the first person I've come across on UA-cam that really gives true tutorials for specifically Florida/tropical landscapes. Thank you! I was already painting but you've helped me over a hump. If I start to do well, God willing, I promise to let everyone know you were a major inspiration and a top mentor. Blessings to you and yours! Keep up the beautifully inspiring work! - Tina

    Please keep in mind that extracurricular noise is picked up by your video & can be distracting.
    Love your work. I've been painting for 20 years & consider myself very much a beginner, sometimes intermediate. It brings, me great peace & relaxation, however, & I will continue as long as God allows. I also like seeing different painters & new styles.
    Thank you. Keep painting & passing along your techniques

      "Extracurricular noise?" Good Lord, your ears must be overly sensitive. If you think that's distracting, spend an hour in a daycare. We were too busy listening to him and following the painting to hear minutia. Try switching to Close Captioning for relief.

    What happened at 11:38? All of a sudden the background trees went from green to blue grey. I love the depth you achieve in such a small painting. Are you using a synthetic bristle fan brush?

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  3 роки тому

      Yes I had to portray distance in the trees! If I had given them the same value as the foreground then everything would look the same and blend in without distinction. When you look at a distance, wether tree line or vegetation it’ll look blue because red and yellow are the first 2 colors to drop from the color spectrum!
      I did use a synthetic bristle brush, I do for all my acrylics!

    Great information for a new to acrylics painter Thanks Question --what do you do with you brushes when you switch back and forth ?Do they dry--do you put them in water till you use them again?

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Teri, thank you for watching!! When I switch back and forth I just rinse my brushes in a little jar I have on the side and set them aside each time until I need them again. Don’t leave the paint on your brush because it will dry in it unlike oils which will dry on your brush after approximately 3 days! Acrylics will dry on your brush within 1 hour. You can leave your brushes in water as you switch back and forth until your session is over! Let me know if you have any other questions!

      For the reflection light, I used ultramarine blue with a hint of umber, plus white!

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  3 роки тому

      I think towards the foreground I added a little alizarin crimson in the mix!
