If you are thinking about adopting an ex-racer and wondering how they would fit into your life, or you just love greyhounds, join us and let’s see how she spends her time! She manages to fit in a run on the beach amongst her other activities, so prepare to see where the phrase ‘40mph couch potato’ comes from.

A little about us: I adopted my ex-racing greyhound Miss Nancy three years ago, it was a massive learning curve for both of us and we have become the best of friends, who love going on outdoor adventures, wild swims, van camping and finding vegan food out and about! We make videos showing what it’s like to have a greyhound as a pet, the beautiful outdoors, vanlife, and life with a greyhound!

I lost my wife Lynn to cancer 3 years ago, and my dog passed - what a year 😬 I needed a dog get me out of the house and always wanted an ex racer greyhound. Catch really helped me when I adopted her. 33 kilos of happiness, always snoozing and has selective hearing especially food wrappers opening 😋 but other times totally deaf. Catch fills a huge void and I love her so much. Great video Tori as always ❤️

She can’t have known it was there don’t know how she missed it, although she does often struggle to find things that are right under her nose 🤣 the happy zoomie face, and the way she just suddenly goes full sprint right at me 😍 thank you yes it’s definitely making a nice change, I’m probably spending too much time in the house though it’s so easy to do that! Oh thank you, she’s been known to complain but I believe she thinks I’m alright really 🤭

I've had my greyhound boy Jet for 4 weeks now, and he is amazing and so sweet!
I'd say he is the easiest dog to look after that I've ever had!
I feel so lucky to have him.

That is so lovely you adopted a greyhound , Jet sounds like such a good boy if he is the easiest dog as he is so new! They are the sweetest ever, they definitely give back what they get and more besides, I feel lucky too xx

I loved them all. But they were more work.
Although 2 of my rescues were very chilled. Still miss them, and my 3 chihuahuas that passed too. 😔
I do love my grey though.
He's been a great comfort to me.
Spouse went WFH with covid, and his mental health went way better with pups to hang out with during the day. Best sweeties ever.
It makes such a difference e doesn’t it, just having them there 🥰

Our lurcher died last April, she loved the sand when we visited Cornwall or Devon. Seeing yours rocking onto her back for a tummy tickle bringsm it flooding back !❤️
Oh I’m sorry, they do love the sand don’t they it always makes Nancy a bit crazy! The bald tummy is the sweetest thing 💕

I love this video!!! Thanks for sharing, Tori. It's very helpful for new greyhound owners like me. Zoe and Miss Nancy seem to be like two peas in a pod. Except Zoe is an early riser and goes crazy in the mornings, so an early morning walk is just what she needs. I am in Australia, so early mornings are better for walks - even when it is only 22 degrees, Zoe is slow and tired and hot and doesn't like walking at all. Do you find that with Miss Nancy? Loved the video and the house looks so cosy for you both ❤❤❤
Thank you! I love watching other greyhounds to and seeing how similar they are to Miss Nancy it’s precious. Haha that’s god to know, it mjust just be Ms Drew that is a lazy dog! That is lucky for you as you get so much hot weather, Nancy is exactly the same with the temperatures. She starts to slow down by 20 degrees, maybe less if the sun is out! And she is slow and tired and hot just like Zoe. There isn’t really anything I can do except try to walk her when it’s cooler and find some shady woodland. We prefer winter really, 10-15 degrees and we are both full of beans! So glad you liked the video, the house is really nice so we are having a cosy winter 💕

Tori, really enjoyed this video. It was a pleasure to see Miss Nancy enjoying herself on the beach and doing zoomies. During lockdown my grey used to sleep on the sofa in the room I was working. I used to like this and she always used to remind me at 4:30 it was time to play.

Greyhounds make great pets most people don’t know that they’re very lovable and affectionate playful and all around cute Miss Nancy certainly has a very privileged life very fond of the bed catching up on sleep ❤

Nice to see a good girls well deserved Christmas present, she looks pretty in pink. Am at present looking after my nephews two Lurchers while he is away on holiday and recognise every one of Miss Nancy’s behaviour patterns , don’t you just love them sometimes a bit naughty but the can melt your heart and you can forgive them for almost anything. Nice to see you at work and not a bikini in sight. Looking forward to seeing what you both get up to in 2024.

Hi Victoria, aren't algorithms great sometimes? Having been left alone after my Uncle past away six years ago and my Mum last May, the prospect of a companion brought me to your channel. I was the unpaid carer for them so now it maybe time to look after myself.
Sighthounds seem to have a distinct character; mostly sleeping then zooming about for half an hour then to sleep again. Every dog is different but they have always been the most loving souls, well at least all the ones I have met.
Never take on a pet without careful consideration. I am still at that stage. Thank you for posting , you are both beautiful souls. Except for the Vegan thing....I get it, honestly but......

After watching this video I've come to conclusion that in a previous life I was greyhound that's all I seem to do at the moment is eat and sleep with an occasional runaround. 😂
So Nancy doesn't have like a favourite toy then? If you threw a ball she would not retrieve it? I guess those things whenever presented to her when she was a puppy.

Well she has a lot of toys, but a limited attention span for them. I do throw balls for her, she won’t bring them back but she likes chasing them if she’s in the mood. She had to learn it all she had no idea how to play when she came it was so sad I kind of had to teach her. She now plays a pretty good game of football by herself throwing the ball in the air! But only for five minutes then she gets bored, sensible dog I’d say 🤭
