      @@larteonceagain *Either way it is an anti-war song, I was eligible for the draft in 1970 and was in the first year of the lottery and had a number 339. The draft agent said I could throw away my draft card because even in a national emergency they would not draft over 300. Without that I would have gone because they mainly drafted colored and blue color workers. One of the richest families in my hometown bought their sons way out using a financial hardship clause. They owned a city block with a car dealership, café, creamery under one building, leasing a gas station at a different location, and a grocery, hardware, and clothing store, and a 20 unit apartment building housing the post office. That inequality still exists today.

      @@user-xj9mf2id7m Thanks for your input about the kind of world we live in. And unfortunately it's always the working class and not the more wealthy ones that wants the war but always find means to get away from the fighting. To continue with the Deep Purple theme but expose you to other bands. The guitarist (Ritchie Blackmore) left Deep Purple to form the band "Rainbow". He added the vocals of Ronnie James Dio and made 3 studio albums. Songs like "Stargazer" and "Man on the Silver Mountain" are two of their very best. This band was fantastic for their live shows. There are great videos on UA-cam from the 1977 Munich concert , like the song "Mistreated" and "Catch the Rainbow" that showcase how good they were.

    Wow, I'm still learning more on your channel. I couldn't imagine that there is anyone who doesn't know Deep Purple (and Child In Time), unless they are very young.
    The song comes from a very great time and line-up (“Mark II” cast), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar) Ian Gillan (vocals) Roger Glover (bass) Jon Lord (keyboards, Hammond organ) Ian Paice (drums). The song was released on one of the greatest rock albums of all time, Deep Purple In Rock. For me the best version is included on the live album Made In Japan, released in 1972, which for me is also the best live album of all time.
    What is remarkable for Deep Purple fans is that Ritchie Blackmore still plays his Gibson ES 335; a short time later he only played his Stratocaster, where the fingerboard was milled out between the frets. He is still one of the best guitarists in the world today, and founded the also legendary band Rainbow and is still with his wife, the american Candice Night, in the medieval-influenced folk-rock band Blackmore's Night. The relationship between John Lord (died 2002) and Blackmore was brilliant and at the same time difficult. Blackmore repeatedly left and came back from the band and finally left the band in the mid-1990s and was replaced by another Guitar Hero, Steve Morse (a Canadien), who left the band two years ago due to his wife's illness.
    Ian Gillan also left the band several times, but is part of the current line-up. Child In Time is no longer played at concerts because he can no longer sing the notes due to his age.
    Ian Paice is the only founding member that can be found in the current line-up. There were really regular reshuffles.
    Typical of their sound was Blackmore's guitar playing and Lord's Hammond playing and their respective and shared solos. They are responsible for many rock classics, such as Highway Star, Hush, Woman From Tokyo, Lazy, Black Night, Strange Kind Of Woman, Burn, Perfect Strangers, etc. The song with which Deep Purple is most associated and one of the most famous Rock riffs is Smoke On The Water.🤘🤘🤘

      Oh wow, released on 1972 you said....I was 1yo. Ha! 😏 This was an awesome, educational comment. Thanks, Michael. Why did Ian leave SEVERAL times - indecisive?

    • @perrosol-ns4cc8ot4t
      @perrosol-ns4cc8ot4t 2 місяці тому

      @@tazzznphilly Why Ian left? Once the work, the success and everything that came with it became too much for him. He opened a hotel, but the project failed, as did a motorcycle company. His subsequent solo career was also unsuccessful, as was his succession to Ronnie James Dio in Black Sabbath.
      As already mentioned, there were always arguments in the band. After one of these he was fired. When he returned, Blackmore dropped out because of this, among other things.
      It should also be added that Lord and Blackmore's main influences come largely from classical composers such as Beethoven and, above all, the baroque music of Johann-Sebastian Bach. This is particularly noticeable in Blackmore's guitar lines. Lord and Blackmore also repeatedly quoted classical compositions, especially live.

    • @perrosol-ns4cc8ot4t
      @perrosol-ns4cc8ot4t 2 місяці тому +2

      @@tazzznphilly I'm definitely not laughing that you don't know anything about the forbidden reef, it's also nowhere near as spectacular as forbidden love. Guitarists, especially beginners, often have the problem of not knowing what to play when testing guitars in a music store because others are listening and often criticize how they play the guitar. You don't want to embarrass yourself. That's why a lot of people play simple and well-known riffs. So I heard that it's frowned upon in America and you'll get in trouble in a lot of stores if you play Stairway To Heaven. In Germany e.g. are you annoying everyone when you play Smoke On The Water in the store? The riff is as simple as the riff from Satisfaction by the Stones.

    Child in time es una canción atemporal, Ian Gillan, el gran vocalista ha dicho muchas veces que fué por la guerra fría... aunque también se puede aplicar a Vietnam, o cualquier guerra en el mundo 😢.
    El catálogo es grande y hasta hoy siguen haciendo giras... tienen 78 años ( los integrantes fundadores); hasta hoy siguen Ian Paice, baterista y fundador del grupo; Roger Glover bajista; Ian Gillan, vocalista. Desgraciadamente el gran Jon Lord, también fundador del grupo, falleció el 2012 : RIP MAESTRO DEL HAMMOND...
