I always thought it would fit better on the “pantera part” during spit out the bone. This one sounds more “machine like” and that one sounds more “savage”. Both killer riffs!!
5:08 Say whatever you want about Lars' drumming, but fuck me, he was so into it. The faces he was making, seeing passion like that just motivates me to pick up my instrument and just go crazy.
Must be a bass player thing. My last bass player insisted on talking in flats, and if I mentioned any sharps, he compulsively corrected me to the equivalent flat 🤣
You can always say what you want about Lars drum playing ability or whatever dropping off over the years, but these behind the scenes things show you just how important he is to make Metallica work, and it's always been that way. When he is engaged in making music, he's invaluable. The way he gets into Kirks solos and is able to recognize little note patterns that sound good together out of a wall of James riffs, it's pretty clear how important he is to Metallica. He and James are lucky they found each other back in the day, because it was the perfect music making combo.
I love how Rob fits in so well. I know everyone still thinks of him as the "new guy" but this vid really made me see him as one of the guys. Fantastic. Loved your work on the last couple albums, Rob!
Lars: "That was pretty cool. Can you do that again?" Kirk: "What, that whoop-whoop-whoop?" Lars: "Yeah!" Kirk: "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can do that again." Lars: "Are you sure?" Golden.
From 3:37 to 4:00 the Kirk Hammett robotoid powers down, especially noticeable from 3:43 onwards. At 3:47 James spots it but Lars, Kirk's handler, is on the phone. Luckily Robert 's bass wakes the poor thing up!
5:06 Lars makes the hardest faces when drumming.. 👅😡👅😤👅😮💨😫😩👅😩😫... literally just playing the snare, bass drum and a cymbal at like 80 bpm? If that. _Beginning of the song_ Lars: Ok let me count you in Lars 😠1 😯2 😱3 😰4
I lov this song, and the album as a whole. Ashamed to say that five years after its release, I'm just discovering what a treasure it is. Have been listening to it religiously for the last several weeks now. My most favorite band of all time. \m/
I'll never understand why this song isn't played at every live show they do... Absolute heavy badassery, and that breakdown riff is in their top 10 riffs!
It's killer you guys share Metallica's creating process with us! The making of this song is brutal but it would have been even better if you had a "Macho Man" Randy Savage hologram!
more more more!!!! more of the "the making of" videos! btw on a side note.. already spent 2400 to see you guys twice this year so see you in Philly and Ohio!
This song is so damn wicked 🤘🔥 full of killer riffs, groovy as hell, lyrics are dark and introspective… def one of their strongest songs since the Puppets/Justice days as far as the ‘metal’ factor is in play
I'm a big Metallica fan but how can Rob and Kirk (especially Rob) not get more writing credit for this album. I know James does most of the composing, Lars most of the arrangements but from most of the 'making of' videos I've seen Rob is definitely there and contributing to parts. Even partial credit! Love the new album though. James vocals are amazing on it. Every morning on the drive into work everyone has to look at my face contorting trying to sing along :)
The faster album to me doesn't mean better. Full fast complex Thrash Metal albums don't entertain me for a long time. But Hardwired is the album that I wanted from Metallica and it's worth the long wait , it contained various sounds for every Metallica fan. it's true that Dystopia, Testament and other bands created musically better and more complex albums, but Hardwired is catchier and more attractive , and I love it more than those good Thrash Metal albums. If Hardwired was Fully fast Thrash Metal album, I would get bored of it after several listens.
H...TSD (In My Opinion) is one of those albums That After You listen To the Key Tracks (Self-Title, Moth, Atlas, Bone were key tracks for me) you go through and unintentionally find more diamonds in the rough you missed before (Revenge, Murder, Now TWD, UnKind, Savage.) These videos helped show the Age That gets put into it And I appreciate every second of it
@@IzukuIXLilly you are 110% right. Happened to me while in the gym and i'm a little ashamed that at first i discarded a few song after only 2 or 3 times hearing them and not giving them too much time
barely 15 seconds into the video and i already have to laugh cause of lars...the way he comes in all messed up asking rhetorically "so do you wanna UHM" ...so classical lars.
" Ignore the fockin camera " is the modern day sequel to " He fockin left the band ".

"UH...HELLOO??" - Lars
HellooO0oo0oooo
Loved the "Bass Solo Take One" t-shirt
Tiger That's cool, man!Hope I can buy it soon
Its up now bro! Enjoy!! Ill be getting one too!
Caio Lebal rip cliff
that looks like a poor imitation. I cant find anywhere that sells one like the one Het is wearing
It is an imitation. Peep the new one. It has Cliff on it.
4:41 one of the best riffs on the album
Yeah i agree, the riff half way through Atlas, rise comes at a close second
yeah, very gojira-like
I agree
Really wish they'd have hung the song on it far more... it really jumps out when it appears in the song.
I always thought it would fit better on the “pantera part” during spit out the bone. This one sounds more “machine like” and that one sounds more “savage”.
Both killer riffs!!
5:48 I love how they still have the stand that says Metllica
5:08 Say whatever you want about Lars' drumming, but fuck me, he was so into it. The faces he was making, seeing passion like that just motivates me to pick up my instrument and just go crazy.
I 100% agree, that's passion right there.
I always thought that his drumming cabability is great.
Love these videos.

Me to
It’s so much fun to play on the drums. It’s a busy track in the sense that involves a lot of the cymbals and toms making it fun to play.
I can't wait for the making of Spit Out the Bone. We need that!
Seyan Asokere "life is like an endless limp dick with an occational blowjob" -also Lars
"Ignore the fucking camera" - also Lars.
"Ignore the fucking camera! Jeez, it doesn't exist!" Haha
Juffacakes Typical Lars hahahaha
Juffacakes he left the fucking band!!!!!!
Kevin Fitzpatrick What's up dude!?!?!!!
That ending crunch groove harmonic riff is so damn good… this song is one of their strongest in the last 20yrs
And yet most underrated from the last 20 years... How does that work?
Rob : B flat
Kirk : ... A sharp
Rob : I'm sorry A sharp
True rock language
Must be a bass player thing. My last bass player insisted on talking in flats, and if I mentioned any sharps, he compulsively corrected me to the equivalent flat 🤣
SpiderSkot im a bass player and never talk in flats, I would always say A sharp over B flat
I never talk in flats except Bb
@@phillipfry9765 I use both, lol. I'll say Eb and Bb, but then I'll say C#, because "Db" bugs me for whatever reason. 😂😂
B#? Thats why flats make more sense

Kirk : "I can do that wo-wo"
Yeah, we know you can do it, man
More like woh-woh or wah-wah.

this was probably one of my top 3 favs on the album. love the breakdown they added.
Guys if you haven't seen their movie "Some kind of monster" i highly recommend it...
surroundedbyidiots i highly dont unless you want to see metallica for the spoiled butthurt dicks they are
Some of the musical ideas they came up with in the doc were pretty cool... stuff that'll never see the light of day.
6:10 they still have the same misspelled "Metllica" from some kind of moster
METALLICA 💓💓💓💓💓 love you soo much. best band over the world!!!
Bang Your Head!!! 666 your profile pic says otherwise
Larswired but Maiden is fine too. i dont find a good profile photo from metallica that i can use.
I just melt down when i see James singuing in front of a Brazilian banner....Metallica for life!!!!

That middle and end part is one of the heaviest things metallica has ever done, i fucking love it.
I really like that heavy, crunchy riff towards the end of the song with the harmonics in it.
That was so cool to watch you all put that together it felt so like i was in the studio with you guys thanks for sharing that with me 🎸🎶🤘👍🖤🖤🖤🖤

I want the shirt James is wearing! That is awesome.
Very good to see these again! The album was Fantastic.
WAITING FOR SPIT OUT THE BONE
that bass guitar at the beginning is awesome.
