Contrary to popular opinion, Am I Savage? is up there in my top 3 favorite songs on this album. But then again, unlike the typical Metallica fan, I ADORE Load and Reload, and this track sounds like it could be off those albums.
Weird thing is I've seen the comment: "this is my favorite song off the album" under every single Video from the new album. that says a lot about the record.
Yeah this is a sign of an excellent album. Even the songs I call the weaker tracks are some people's favorites. Then again, some people love Ronny... lol!
its firstgrade Oh-oh, we have a sarcasm maestro right here. Phew, I'm glad he knows so much about metal and shit, because I won't have to explain that little pussy that when it all started in LA/SF 30 years ago, Metallica was the first thrash band that released a ballad and this is the whole point of "so called" 1000mph phrase that Cliff Burton used... So yeaaaaaah. -,- geeeesh
Exactly. That's the worst part of this genre and its fans. Louder and faster doesn't mean better. I think a balance is more important and Metallica has it. That's why the'yre the best metal band.
To explain point of the video: Lyrics explain how someone acts abusively behind closed doors when they can't control themselves vs the front they show to the rest of the world to the point it changes them completely to someone no one including themselves recognize. Video shows how the man is so self confident that he's hiding his violent tendencies and and thoughts and feelings and how self absorbed he becomes eventually swallows him and envelops him to the point he can no longer see he's manifesting it until it's too late. That's why everyone but the man is in a plain white body suit. They could be literally anyone. It's how he's deluded himself into thinking it's ok. They're just faceless things. It represents physically abusive husbands, abusive alcoholics (Something James admitted he was and got help for) and abusive mentally ill.
just today this song sold me. when I heard yesterday I thought it was alright but when I heard that riff before the solo..... HOLY SHIT THAT MY FRIEND IS A GOOD DEFINITION OF HEAVY
Great review, I also concentrate on the music, as many do and specially when it comes to Metallica, but I think this video has an interesting social depth, the deprivation of an individual being stuck in numbing patterns of family and work. Not something that hasn't been addressed a lot, but the specific artistic approach they took on here seems very authentic, as the people around that dude slip into facelessness and trigger a deep re-evaluation of self due to a chronic dissatisfaction of a life style he wants to break out of but constantly fails. I'm very pleased they made a great song and also send a strong message.
@@ness21785 It's in the standard Metallica way of doing ballads with addition of chorus riff in the intro and an extended bridge. That's not "kinda", it actually is one.
WWE helped me really get into this song, the visual of Triple H beating the hell outta Seth Rollins with a crutch as James Hetfield shouts Am I Savage was purely great
in first part before chorus, you can feel influenced from MEGADETH guitar sound. Dave will smiling hear that. And the part middle you can feel influenced from pantera guitar sound. So i though this song is mix sound from Load+Megadeth+and Pantera. Cheers
Jefferzxn it's called mercy by a band called sylosis it's off their album called dormant heart, melodic/progressive thrash band from reading in England, they're an amazing band dude check them out
I get people digging "am i savage". It's a new song, people try to like it at first. I remember me trying to like "Ronnie" when "Load" came out. I just dont try that hard anymore.
I like a good thrash song but at the same time love a good heavy riff that you can just headbang like a mofo to and this song does and also this song has become one of my favorite Metallica songs of all time, just all around a beast of a song and the music is fucking epic imo 👊😈💀💥🔥
This is my least favorite of the new album currently, it's growing on me though, like most of the album. I was not a fan of this song at all to start with, I'm kinda liking it now though. The riff with the harmonic notes is amaaaazing though, the one that's in the middle and ending of the song.
This song is awesome... lyrics get a little weird in spots, but still an awesome song... and yes, that simple riff you're referring to is gritty as fuck... love it... wish they had put something like that after the second chorus of spit out the bone when James lets out that savage wail, SPIT OUT THE BOOOOOOOOOONE! Something chunky and gritty and fucking nasty... that wail deserved better...
Dad is having surgery tuesday She will dtop She w eatherman today and they expect us so i yaa@@ only eant I will take try that you just want loved me and calvin reed

Soundtallica in Chains I personally like when they take it a little slower and the riffs sound super heavy unlike some of the fast ones
Soundtallica in Chains I like Load and Reload, too.
@ChronoWind an ass I just wanna take a bite out of. Know what I mean?
Now you're talking my language
I can't imagine only liking Metallica for their very early stuff. Just thinking about missing out on all those songs.
Weird thing is I've seen the comment: "this is my favorite song off the album" under every single Video from the new album. that says a lot about the record.
Juventin sure does. my two favorites are this and Murder One.
Yeah this is a sign of an excellent album. Even the songs I call the weaker tracks are some people's favorites. Then again, some people love Ronny... lol!
Logan and mom
Ronnie is an epic song about redemption.
Juventin this can also mean no fucking song is good and only one can be saved
I was just looking forward to the part at 5:23... one of my favorite parts of the entire album. So nasty!
Hello brawn strauman
So much metal sucks because people think faster and complicated automatically means better.
This! And Metallica since forever was like "we don't need to play 1000mph all the time". That's why they're #1
Yeah. Metallica is the only metal band that goes under 1000mph.
its firstgrade Oh-oh, we have a sarcasm maestro right here. You can't say something really sophisticated and then completely ruin it with stating an opinion like it's a fact. Why?
ROB DID THE THING
I think Am I Savage? as a piece of music is also the concept and lyrics of the song: restrained aggression.
To explain point of the video:
Lyrics explain how someone acts abusively behind closed doors when they can't control themselves vs the front they show to the rest of the world to the point it changes them completely to someone no one including themselves recognize.
Video shows how the man is so self confident that he's hiding his violent tendencies and and thoughts and feelings and how self absorbed he becomes eventually swallows him and envelops him to the point he can no longer see he's manifesting it until it's too late. Am I Savage? I am man, yes I am!
My mothe was a saWITCH XD
Well done!
Mother of God, I laughed so HARD at his reaction @ 6:14 to Rob's spinning :'-) Chainsaw is the best reaction guy on youtube!
This has been fun watching you go through all these songs! And its all leading up to the best song on the album!!
Uploading now...... Almost there!
Chainsaw Reacts 2 But still waiting for Spit out the bone... come on! :)
Darren Graham SUCKS ....THE ONLY GOOD SONG IS SPIT OUT THE BONE the rest of the album sucks its boring and nothing special
yenko blitz This is one of the weaker songs for sure. I meant that Spit out the Bone was the best song as that would be the last one he reacts to.
record something better tho.
just today this song sold me. when I heard yesterday I thought it was alright but when I heard that riff before the solo..... HOLY SHIT THAT MY FRIEND IS A GOOD DEFINITION OF HEAVY

dude, it's very fun to see you reacting to the videos!!!! cheers from Brazil!
it's funny because I have listened to these songs before and found parts that I really like and I'm so excited to see you watch it!!
Dude you truly explained what I felt literally for each one of the songs just made my day even better, the force is strong with this one!
this song sounds like it could be an unreleased song that didn"t make it to the Load album.
one of my fav on the album. heavy riffing, solid vocals, Lars keeping beat, top 3 on the album for sure
3:11 Wild Dave Mustaine appears!
It's the pinch harmonics in that riff you're talking about that make it memorable
Brian Wright so simple to play and yet amazing sounding. Reminded me of Machine Head a lot
Yep, that is my thoughts too.
theyre natural harmonics not pinch but agreed they kick ass
Good ear. Love those sweet spots on the fretboard. That natural harmonic with a lot of gain
5:24 is the juiciest riff from these guys. So fockin groovy🤘🤘
Love the reaction @ 6:14 at Rob xD totally priceless
I honestly wasn’t crazy about this song at first, but I like it more the more I hear it!
Murder One is my favorite song off this album!!!!
Didn't catch on it was about Lemmy till I saw the video...made me like it more!!
Chris Bassartist same! I like this and murder one
Thomas Goude I agree
THERE IS NO BALLAD!
Thank you gif insert here
Halo on Fire?
WhosTheDaddyHD
its not a ballad. Close, be not a ballad
AlexTheStrategist halo on fire is kind of a ballad in my opinion
@@ness21785 It's in the standard Metallica way of doing ballads with addition of chorus riff in the intro and an extended bridge. That's not "kinda", it actually is one.
Breakdown is THE HEAVIEST RIFF on the album!!
WWE helped me really get into this song, the visual of Triple H beating the hell outta Seth Rollins with a crutch as James Hetfield shouts Am I Savage was purely great
I think this so kicks ass. It’s one of the most unique Metallica songs.
For sure
Am I savage
Spit out the bone
Moth into flame
manUNkind
I think the whole album is bad ass but these are my favorite.
right before kirk solo and on i lost my mind! love it. nice to hear Rob. Spit Out Bone>Savage>Atlas my fave 3 so far...
Ant Khan insane riff. Loved it when the album trailer came out
So simple so Amazing but Excellent Perfect
this could be a Pantera song. total influence from there.
My 2nd favorite song on the album.
My mother raised me to be a Barbarian a Savage and a Viking all at the same time.
in first part before chorus, you can feel influenced from MEGADETH guitar sound. Dave will smiling hear that. And the part middle you can feel influenced from pantera guitar sound. So i though this song is mix sound from Load+Megadeth+and Pantera. Cheers
Ashadi Anwar no its metallica! Real fan enjoy metallica songs..not comparing it..just saying
Joseph Ron Aguirre and real fans don't actually say 'real fans , the REAL fans accept whatever reason someone may like Metallica
Not surprised about it being inspired by Pantera. It’s known that Metallica and Pantera were friends
If you want longer Hardwired = Spit out the bone !!!
This one is quite different! Not my favourite but it{s kinda cool. Metallica cannot come up with a bad song ;)
this is basically metallica's "sweating bullets" from the paranoia direction of the video to the stracture of the song
The obe cymbal is only in the video in the song you can hear at least 2 different cymbal
thats some serious groove
the part before the chorus sounds like Megadeth xD
5:23
The result when you tour with Gojira..
best part buddy
The actor of this music video is from Argentina yeaa lml
It was shot in Argentina completely, if i'm not mistaken
this is my second favorite song of the album
Can anyone tells me what is the music in the intro ? thanks !
what's the name of the intro song???
Jefferzxn it's called mercy by a band called sylosis it's off their album called dormant heart, melodic/progressive thrash band from reading in England, they're an amazing band dude check them out
The riff at 5:20 is stupid heavy.
is it me or does this video remind me of sweating bullets?
Jean runkle just you.
man there are some of the top riffs of the album
kinda has a Megadeth feel to it
That bass! Killer song!
I'm a simple man I see Halo 3 I like the video
lol I hear ya
I get people digging "am i savage". It's a new song, people try to like it at first. I remember me trying to like "Ronnie" when "Load" came out. I just dont try that hard anymore.
Hey, awesome video dude! What's the song in your intro? Is it copyrighted or anything? Would I be able to use it in my videos? It's freaking awesome!
all metallica new songs awesome but this one ... i feel i really feel this one is greatest one !!!
I like a good thrash song but at the same time love a good heavy riff that you can just headbang like a mofo to and this song does and also this song has become one of my favorite Metallica songs of all time, just all around a beast of a song and the music is fucking epic imo 👊😈💀💥🔥
Intro song?
I'm so sad that they didn't do a ballad (I wanted Unforgiven IV, but I guess Halo On Fire is Unforgiven 3.5), nor an instrumental
Gustavo Ignacio Ruiz Cárcamo here comes revenge is like the unforgiven 4
Great reaction!
Como nenhum álbum é perfeito, aí está o calcanhar de Aquiles do HTSD
love the robcopter lol
Disc 2 is better then 1. It best stuff off the new album...This like CARPE DIEM BABY PART 2
this is an official wrestlemania theme song
This is my least favorite of the new album currently, it's growing on me though, like most of the album.
I was not a fan of this song at all to start with, I'm kinda liking it now though.
The riff with the harmonic notes is amaaaazing though, the one that's in the middle and ending of the song.
Totally agree
me to
Best Kirk Solo so far ....by a mile!!!!!
Something chunky and gritty and fucking nasty... that wail deserved better...
second....from bogota colombia
Hope you reacted to the new Lord of summer's version!
Chainsaw ol' buddy ol' pal
A little Megadeth in that one part
i am the unique person that likes the solo? it isnt amazing but that little shred...
its a nods out to Black Sabbath do you reckon?
Erwin Agustin I agree with that.
Chainsaw Reacts do you watch your other channel with your main one? xD
MOOOORE :D
i love manUNkind
you are a good guy
I'm not sure what to think of this song? its like a load reload song.
And that's a good thing! Load and Reload are NOT bad, just different from all their other albums.
Jean runkle more of a reload to me because of the arrangements and the drums
This shit is so much heavier than anything on either of those albums.
Dave Mustaine?? rsrs
this song gave me a megadeath kinda vibe lol but it's Metallica the greatest band in the world!!
Metallica
Disc 2 is better then 1 in my opinion
Yo Bruh, try to react to other Rock Albums like Emarosa’s 131 or something
Am I Savage? and Here Comes Revenge are probably my least favourite on the album. * shrug *
Dad is having surgery tuesday She will dtop She w eatherman today and they expect us so i yaa@@ only eant I will take try that you just want loved me and calvin reed
first
Smashed bread congrats.
third
don't exaggerate the mediocre songs just because released by metallica!
rolla or maybe, people just like the songs! crazy right?
Dad is having surgery Tuesday Thursday jeremy She will dtop She will dtop u y u u hi w eatherman today and they w eatherman
second xD
Don't love it.
worst song by far in "hardwired..."
This isn't awful, but its definitely the least memorable and possibly the worst on the album.
your opinion... for me it's one of the best. ManUNKind is the worst one.
Well, for me - Halo on Fire and Confusion are the weakest song on the album, but this one is one of the greatest here.
Vladimir Mironov Halo on Fire??? That's an instant classic.
Vladimir Mironov Halo on fire is pure awesomeness.
Halo on Fire Rocks!!!
I love the new album but this song is by far the worst
I was expecting "Am I Savage? Yes I am."
You know, because it's like a sequel to "Am I Evil?".
