I've put over 1200 miles on mine and totaling 63.5 mpg for the life of the vehicle. I routinely get 70+ mpg for my daily 40 mile trip to and from work.
Great real world review -- I've just bought a late '22 model and am delighted with it. It's very smooth and relaxed to drive. Here in the UK, I'm getting 60+ mpg.
If he was confused about pronunciation, Hyundai has commercials on UA-cam that pronounce it for you. LOL! My niece recently bought a 2020 Ioniq Hybrid and she seems to like it. It gets stupid high gas mileage (I think I read the range is over 650 mi?). I know hybrids can be weird about shutting off when you pull up to a stop light (no AC!) but I don't know whether the Ioniq does this also. Other than that, looks like a pretty slick car. I do see that the Ioniq factory warranties are much longer than Toyota's for the Priius. That's doesn't mean Ioniq is better than Prius, but it would be a plus if I were shopping for this model.
@syedalishah-hr5sz woooah hello its been 3 years since i made that comment ! i got the ioniq blue ! and i love it, i get around 600 miles on a full gas tank and shes so nice to drive as well. so many cup holders and she fits everything since it's a hatchback. ive had my car for almost 3 years and no issues so far !
For me personally what Makes the big difference is adaptive cruise control. I actually got to the point on my Toyota that I really used it and it’s a big deal for me. That Hyundai is only putting it on he SEL and Limited is annoying. For people who are dealing with an illness like mine highway driving is a big deal with adaptive cruise control because it assist in awareness.. when I notice I have to use it more than once it’s time to pull over. I had it on my Toyota Corolla and now I am trying to decided where I want to go in my start into the hybrid world. I think I want to go low gas before I go full electric and I may go with the Honda Insight depending on the standard safety options but.. I’m think right now it’s Hyundai because I hate CVT engines and in this case I don’t see even how the CVT is even helping.
The discounts and incentives are really hard to believe. The 2020 stragglers are down to $15,150(allegedly) near me, not counting the military/college offers and from a reputable dealer
It won't be as good as toyota hsd, why? Because: ioniq can not pulse and glide so toyota will win in mpg, it has many components that can fail like 3 clutches! serpentine belt, 12v generator, dct hydraulic actuator that requires calibration etc. Comparing to prices in Europe it has almost same price like new corrola hsd which does not have these problems and can have up to 10years of warranty on whole hsd system. Ioniq is much more expensive in maintenance due to many complicated elements which do not exist in toyota hsd cars. Ioniq has only one electric motor and just support ice while toyota has planetary power split device and two electric motors that serve as a gear and clutch and the system is much more advanced in toyota. Value lost is very high for ioniq, toyota keeps value.

Does this Ionic have a hybrid filter? Where is it located and how much does it costs? Does dealership change or clean it it for you at oil changes when you lease?

Is this a plug in hybrid or just a hybrid? I can’t find anything on the web that says which
The fact that gas was at $2.09 at 11:09 timestamp is why I'm selling my truck for this car.
I love the fuel mileage from my Ioniq. I also enjoy the DCT as opposed to the CVT counterparts. This was another selling point for me 👍
DCT?

It's no fake venting. It's actually necessary to create an air curtain over the front tires to improve the aerodynamic!

57 and 59 mile/gallon!!!
One full tank will take anyone to Moon easily..
Although the Toyota is reliable, it is boring. The Hyundai is better in gas mileage and it will be it is reliable if you take care of it.
Awesome and super informative review!
My 2020 Ioniq Hybrid does 60miles/gallon with 225/45r17 summer-tyres...
This was the review I needed! Did yours come with regenerative braking as well?

Are these easy to steal like the other Kia’s n Hyundais?
Great review other than waving people onto oncoming traffic when you have the right of way to turn. I thought that was bit weird.
