Addiction is no joke man. I just found this and I’m one of the biggest STP fans alive. I have died more times than I know of but today I have 6 months clean. “All My Hero’s Are Dead And Gone.”
I have not heard this version once without crying. Scott looks so frail and he sings like it's about life or death. It's absolutely heartbreaking. And so, so rare to find artist who can perform a song like this. He truly was one in a million, that beautiful man. And so not given credit for his enormous talent.
@@linkinpark2883 take nothing away from Cornell's own talent, and I know people compare them because of their deaths, but They had their own way, and for me personally, Scott was in a league of his own.
This song always gets me, me and my late ex wife would always lay in bed after shooting up and it felt like this song always came on. Then when we got clean after we split up it always meant even more to us. She wrote me a letter the day before she died saying that every time she heard it she would cry and think of me. Even tho in the end we weren't together, we still loved eachother more than anything. Wish u were here....
I COMPLETELY understand the love & hate you can have for one another. LOVE and HATE have a VERY thin line between the two. Yet, for some reason you can't "unlove " them. The toxicity of the relationship and the lifestyles you choose to have together outweighs the cherished memoriess. FINALLY, one of you realizes that your sanity, mental, & physical health mean more to you than the relationship.🖤
No I agree. It's like...Chris Cornell, or Kurt. Musicians will come and go but only a select very few capture what they did. Layne as another... shit...Hoon...damn there's 45 on the 27 club. Crazy. Today tho is Pigpen. The Dead are mythical forces of, reckoning? Great album, best live lp I know.

Scott Weiland was.going to do a show in MN. I wanted to go but no.one was able to go. The show was canceled because they could not sell enough tickets. I have been a fan of his since the 90s. The next thing I heard is that he passed away not far from my home.. I felt so bad for his wife, kids, family , friends and fans. Addiction is a horrible battle. He was gone too soon.
He lived like he died. I hear him and I smile. If it weren’t for his brief, intense light, I would have miss a legend. I’m glad his light burned so bright.
+Hammer of Justice Crushes You OVERPOWER Just like I wish couple of Members of Floyd were still here, Just imagin Scott and them Playing this song together man.... Miss them all
LYRICS: So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, Blue skies from pain Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade Your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold confort for change? And did you exchange A walk on part in the war For a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears Wish you were here
You probably described the feeling I have for this song better than anyone else. It's not like...I miss someone in particular I mean We all do, we all have our wars to fight But with this song (and with Pink Floyd in general) I just feel nostalgic, sad but with hope at the same time, inspired with a bit of sorrow I don't know, Floyd's just something else. Beautiful performance by Velvet by the way, truly captured the essence of the song IMO
I feel exactly the same way ...homesick for a place I've never been and for someone I have never met ...this Is beautiful sounds like a verse in a song
The look on scotts face at 6:40 you can just tell comes from the emotion and pain from within himself not just about his brothers death perhaps his ex wives his past everything such a tragic loss truly one of a kind and an amazing talent 🖤
Was so blessed to have seen him play in concert 4 months before he passed with my beloved son. I lost my son due to addiction this past August 16th, 2021 he battled the same demons and music was a very special part of his life!! RIP Scott Weiland and Andrew “ Cali” Evrard !! I’ll keep rockin on earth playing the songs we loved until we see each other again !! Love ❤️ Mom

u took the words right outta my mouth. Seen Pink Floyd five times between '88 and '94 and to hear Scott singing "Wish you were here" just really makes me sick that he's gone. Shine on, Scott
My Sunday " Me Thing" is to watch random videos and simply appreciate artists, their greatest talents and how they DIG SHARING WITH THE WORLD! But today... this video randomly popped up and I was feeling my internal vibe... even at 60 yrs old I'm still jamming to every Genre out there and loving my music. But.... when this beautiful young SOUL lifted the mic to his mouth, holding his lit cigarette... my heart instantly sank into my chest... and I just silently WEPT! His vibe was so in touch & so in tune with his craft, but even at that exact moment... I realized I was witnessing the midst of his death. Not the exact moment, as he performed the song. But it's was already in his near future. But I just thought to myself... this dude is either on his way out of this world, or maybe even already GONE by now. It's like he'd already made peace with death and was just tying up any lose ends. I don't know his story yet, but I'm about the read up about him. I just want every person out here to know... we can do much better with our friends & loved ones. We are all spiritual beings and are capable of interpreting one another's feelings on a much deeper level. We just need to place those we love and care about FIRST. Stop putting our own selfish needs first and pay attention to our loved ones. Trust me... when you start doing that, life gains much more meaning, and we begin to show one another more love and understanding. No soul is hopeless , worthless or not beyond help. Alcoholics & Addicts fall into the trap of distraction first. And it can happen to any single soul alive. So... think first before we judge a persons struggles. They weren't born into their situations. Something just failed their priorities. I'm not saying we can all save the world and each broken soul who comes into our lives. But I am saying...STOP letting menial, meaninglessness, Worthless bullshit consume our hearts and show some compassion towards others and the suffering all around us. Take a good look around your own world... you don't have to look too far to witness someone going through something much worse than you are going through. Yes, I agree that life s difficult for most ppl. But Do me this one Solid... just take a look around your surroundings for a second and be honest... there are people in MUCH WORSE SHAPE THAN US! Take a drive in a one mile radius of your own home... look at what we are ignoring in the outside world we mutually co-exist with. There are severely traumatized ppl, ppl dying of diseases and suffering silently through chemotherapy radiation, some ppl unable to get life saving treatment, ppl being abused verbally, physically or sexually, children being neglected, ignored, unbathed, unfed, unloved... there are silent storms going on all around us. We can be better at noticing the needs of others. We can't save the world... but if we each begin to recognize others struggling ... perhaps our encouraging words might give them hope. Our simple acknowledgement of their depths of grief and offering our positive hopes of brighter days ahead can make a difference. Maybe if we each make those tiny efforts to hug someone who's feeling overwhelmed... maybe there would be less suicide, depression and abuse. We may be financially struggling... but we can still help someone carry groceries up their stairs, or help the elderly into their home, or carry someone's trash out. Just stop and have direct eye contact with a neighbor and ask them how they are doing. Any effort provides the possibility of positive change in others. And eventually, you will be so busy being surrounded by others and sharing love, that even your own struggles will seem less overwhelming. I'm just saying... we ALL NEED SOMEONE! Try being the one to be there for others than to always be the one looking for someone to help you. Eventually you develop camaraderie among those surrounding you and your support system grows much larger and there are more ppl who can offer you suggestions to help make your own struggles & situation better as well. I thought & hopes reach out to each of you today & all your days ahead.💕 ( This was my very first initial, instinctual feeling or intuition about this man as I began to watch him join his band offering up his amazing vocal sacrifice. I have sensed this exact feeling before in my own ppl and among strangers. Im not anyone special of possess some type of ability to predetermine or foresee the future! I pay attention to body language, expressions the color of ppl flesh, the pauses they take... the stance they make or even where the focus their own eye contact. We each could pay more attention to ppl behaviors & actions and possibly determine they might be struggling with something bigger than they can handle. So... as I'm beginning to dive into the comments, and Im engaging , enjoying & appreciating my greatest me time listening to great music... and the VERY FIRST COMMENT READ "REST IS PEACE!" Scott Weiland. I ALREADY KNEW WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING.... let's love others and offer hope where it's needed! My God Rest this Beautiful Soul! 🙏

@@Meshell_Smiling RIGHT ON!!!
Nothing lasts forever, but, yes, a looong time.
He lived like he died. I hear him and I smile. If it weren’t for his brief, intense light, I would have miss a legend.
I’m glad his light burned so bright.
AMEN!
A song for Syd Barret became an hymn for the rock Gods we've lost
I love your comment so much. From one tortured soul to another. I pray they are both at peace now. Rock on Ziggy. Love Bowie too. ⚡️
Well said.
Thank Roger Waters sir
True 💔 💔
the crowd when scott steps out makes me cry everytime, nobody on this planet i miss more than him, not even my own blood.
I totally get that 😢
Wow. Makes me wanna cry. Miss you Scott.
Simply beautiful...not Pink Floyd, but every bit as meaningful!!! Love it!😢😢😢
Even after all these years it’s hard to believe he’s gone
R.I.P Mr Weiland
I grew up listening and walking around my parents house signing your songs my brother. You made great music that will NEVER fade out.
That's right, Scott. I wish you were here.. Here to make your music for just a little while longer
+Hammer of Justice Crushes You OVERPOWER Just like I wish couple of Members of Floyd were still here, Just imagin Scott and them Playing this song together man.... Miss them all
ImPacosTacos That would be the best!!
amen bro
+Hammer of Justice Crushes You OVERPOWER That would be awesome to see. Too bad heroin killed him in the end
That's not his music... that's the music of Pink Floyd ;)
Slash was sublime in this intro❤
He made that guitar sing!!!❤
LYRICS:
So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold confort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?
How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here
How I wish...
How I wish...
Congratulations you can copy and paste lyrics from a song that's been played thousands of times
@@Chris-tl9wd and with that simple act he helps people who‘s learning english to hear Scott singing and read the lyrics at the same time. Great.
@@Chris-tl9wd pretty rude comment, some younger generations did not hear it
" thousand" times...
Rest Easy Scott Weiland, Thank you for that beautiful one-of-a-kind sound that will never be forgotten or duplicated.
This song makes me homesick for a place I've never been to and miss someone I've never met.
You probably described the feeling I have for this song better than anyone else. It's not like...I miss someone in particular I mean
We all do, we all have our wars to fight
But with this song (and with Pink Floyd in general) I just feel nostalgic, sad but with hope at the same time, inspired with a bit of sorrow
I don't know, Floyd's just something else. Beautiful performance by Velvet by the way, truly captured the essence of the song IMO
I feel exactly the same way ...homesick for a place I've never been and for someone I have never met ...this Is beautiful sounds like a verse in a song
You finally put the words I needed in my mouth! Thank you so much! I love this!!!
That’s one of the most real, most beautiful comments I ever read, I absolutely feel this 🖤
The beauty this cover brings is a tear jerker..and ive been to hell and back and listen to metal..for what that's worth..
on a song like this you get to appreciate what a wonderful singer Scottie was.
Played this version on my way home from my best mates funeral....it helped me in so many ways....rip Scott
The look on scotts face at 6:40 you can just tell comes from the emotion and pain from within himself not just about his brothers death perhaps his ex wives his past everything such a tragic loss truly one of a kind and an amazing talent 🖤
:'(
And then his other brother died (2007)... 💔💔💔💔💔

I thought & hopes reach out to each of you today & all your days ahead.💕
( This was my very first initial, instinctual feeling or intuition about this man as I began to watch him join his band offering up his amazing vocal sacrifice.
Wish You Were Here Scott Weiland! R.I.P. and thanks for all you gave us as you will be forever missed!!

Scott was a one of the greatest front men and silky smooth cool. Grew up listening to him and he got better over the years like wine.
Amazing how this cuts right to your hurt and pulls that pain right to the surface. Beautiful song. Rest in peace brother
Scott's expression at the end of the video...it says it all...
Thank you Scott for blessing us with that incredible voice and those kick-ass moves on stage. I don't even think they make front men like you anymore.
He was a gift to us 🙏🏻
I am so Fucking glad this snapshot performance is captured forever. Scott, how I wish you were here.
Wow! He sang this song perfect.
Yes he did
he is perfect
I still am saddened by Scott's passing.. I hurt for him for all the heartache and pain he lived with day after day, but you would never once see it manifest when he was behind the microphone in front of his loving fans.. Scott loved his fans, and it hurts me that we cannot thank him enough for the blessings he brought to our ears.. I wish I could tell him how thankful I truly am for bringing me courage growing up and following him... Scott was a gentleman with a Lion of a roar voice..I hope Scott is at peace now, but I also hope he knows how much he was loved.. I don't think he truly knew that... Love you my brother.
-Wish you were here !!!

Ms Rhinehart, the last minute, let's see if she'll show up to the party. Me assuring myself I wouldn't feel hurt if you declined. We didn't know each other all that well.
Nope! You brought the news & Velvet Revolver. It was a new sound to me at that time that resonated.
You have continuously been ahead of me. And I appreciate the time you took for me that event. And God bless Kris Kern for the movie & an 8-pack of diet Vernors for the host compliments of the McKinnons.

I just want to say first of all I am a huge fan of Scott Weiland...and its sooo amazing to see all of the great comments and recognition for this man and his talent.RIP Scott Weiland you are sooo missed by your fans who loved you.
This was a great band. They were like a rare diamond, not seen everyday nor found that frequently in this modern world. The time they spent together playing, it was hard, difficult but glorious as well. Thanks Scott for your brief pasaage through this great rock and roll band.
Absolutely. Pretty sure they knew they were riding on a razor thin edge.
I've just learned how much I miss my father's influence on this little space of time that I call my life
He has gone with amazing wings for good, but stays as one of greatest vocalist in history.
THE GREATEST of ALL TIME!!!
Heartbreaking. Our society has not treated artists well. Thus, addiction and the loss of so many great talents. There is help out there though. Love you all, people who love too much. ❤
I'm thinking that musicians are around all sorts of drugs, a lot of the time & on tour. maybe other users egg non users on this, initiating them to "just try it"
One of the most beautiful cover songs I have ever heard
One of the best front men ever !! RIP....Always a great voice...
This version makes me cry a little everytime I hear it. It's so beautiful.
Right on!!!
Just Amazing! Wish you were Still here Scott!😢
