Harper walked out the ring as he saw the matchmaker chico rivas in the other guys corner, that and the fact he never got a full contract or pay for the fight he decided to walk out. All respect to harper he done the smart thing, walk out without any brain damage instead of getting paid peanuts
The story I had always read about the fighter walking out of the ring was that he signed the contract for an untelevised fight therefore less money and when fight night came he found out it was televised meaning he should have been making more and then did exactly what you said.
that trainer who punches his own students is INSANE!!!! How can somebody do that and other men actually take it without stopping to think "wait, what about my god dang BRAIN!". Disgusting

The woman eating punches is actually Christy Martin, a legend in women’s boxing. Competed for 23 years, one time WBC Super Welterweight champion, two years before that clip survived being shot and stabbed by her trainer/husband. Those were the last seconds of her retirement fight. 🙌 🥊
I don't even box like that, just enough knowledge so I can throw a punch and dodge one maybe (haven't tried it yet lmao) but I do the same thing. Especially in front of a mirror you can really get the movements ingrained
Not a fan of reaction videos but I reckon TJ reacts is gonna be the next big review segment on the world wide Internets. I'm thoroughly enjoying these. Thanks big man. All the best
Omg, I loved the one where the dude just calmly stepped down out of the ring when the bell sounded!! Probably one of the smartest men on the planet. Wonder why none of Mike Tyson's opponents never did that when they SHOULD have.
The reason the dude apparently got out of the ring was because before the fight he was promised only half the money he was originally promised, so by leaving the ring in protest, he gets his money since it was technically a fight.
Wait, what? I do shadow boxing when I'm alone at home or in front a mirror. Some slips, some pendulums, a hook, a 1-2, basic stuff. I can't control it and I thought I was the only one. Now I feel like a boxer. Edit: WHAT? It's your birthday, Tony? Congratulations, mate! Best regards!
Yes, I related to that. Back when I was training I always wanted to start exercising whenever I started to drink anything. After a glass of wine I just had this itch to start training. It was truly my happy place.
6:00 I kicked another boxer in the ring in my first match 😂 It was 20 years ago, but I still remember, like it was yesterday 😂 I had few thaiboxing trainings before I switched to boxing and my first fight was like a war. Not much of skill on both sides, but lot of power and big hits. In last round, I was in ropes, I was hit pretty hard, my head dropped a bit and all I saw at the moment was my opponents leg and my leg, striking a beautiful low-kick 😂 It was some kind of muscle memory reflex I couldnt stop. I was boxing in my home town and I heard from the crowd somebody shouting on the referee "kick this fu...er out!!!!" What a moment, I Will never forget in my life 😂☝️
Tony, congratulations on another amazing video! But you made a slight error. The referee with the funny reactions is NOT Kenny Bayless, it's STEVE WILLIS.
I kicked a boxer who was helping me with my hand techniques. I was training in TaeKwonDo at the time. We were sparring at about 25% when muscle memory took over. He poked a jab, I slipped back and clipped him with a roundhouse. Good thing we were going light and I had good control. All he really got was a light tap on the cheek. He made a comment about why it is important to keep your guard up, you never know what may be coming your way.
Every time I see myself on any kind of reflecting surface I do a little 1-2-3-slip-uppercut- stepoff. Glad to hear I not the only lunatic that does that.
I’m almost 100% you were right on second choice of why boxer walked out. Pretty certain he was duped with his contract for the fight, some BS with promoter
5:00 from what i heard he had a big dispute with the promotion over his contract and so he decided to leave the ring after the bell rung so they still had to pay him for the fight. So basically what you said
yes i box in the house. i have limited time to properly train so i like to keep the technique sharp, but most of what i do looking at my shadow or a reflection around the house is shoeshine for a little bit. i think for fitness it's good and it keeps you coordinated
Have you considered getting an Oculus Quest 2 and doing a video about Thrill of the Fight which is a boxing simulator game? I'd love to hear what an ex-pro had to say about it!
So the compulsive shadow boxing in front of every mirror around or while waiting for the elevator is not only my problem :D I feel so relieved for that
lol i shadow box everywhere been doing it since 1998 when i was 8 years old getting taught boxing from my dad. looking forward to my heavy bag session tomorrow now 32 years old and still wanting to improve.
Hello sir, bcoz of you I learn a lot. In this coming last week of March I start my first day in boxing gym and I'm ready to apply all I've learn from your video🙂🔥
Boxers be like "He kick him! No good! Crazy!: But people these days get kicked on the street. For self-defense, a boxer needs to know how to kick and how to defend against a kicker. And how to clinch and sweep. So Mr. Jeffries, how about it? A simple, easy series on kicking, and another on clinching? And takedown defense, too.
Hey man i saw your story that happened when you were younger I’m still young and I learned from your message now I’m a head champion in my boxing gym I go in
5:20 I'm pretty sure it had to do something with the contracts. I didn't watch the full video on it but it had to do something with the contracts for sure mate!
Oh gosh! Just checked out that last story! XD Apparently the guy had the last straw when he saw his own promoters on the other guys ringside!! "Get in the ring. Get payed. It's simple" 😅😅
2:30 roughly: well I don't do boxing exactly but what my instructor does is he punches me but not in the head, just the stomach because my martial art is one of the heaviest martial arts on body conditioning
Do you also randomly shadow box at home?

The shadow boxing thing is so relatable. I'm constantly throwing punches when my hands aren't doing anything else.
Do you also randomly shadow box at home? - > Yes Tony, it is common to randomly shadow box when nobody around at home :)

Once you become a boxer, that becomes a normal part of your life. You can't walk too far without throwing a few light punches.
